I went to Route 66 again after many years and I was shocked. The food was a disaster. I thought I'd order a simple dish, but unfortunately, even that was too complicated. The fried potatoes were far from being fried, but thanks to the bacon, they were at least somewhat salty, as there didn't seem to be any other seasonings. The hamburger was an overcooked and dry piece of "meat," nice and crispy and slightly charred on the outside, but the egg on top wasn't cooked through. The yolk was perfectly runny, I won't complain about that, but most of the egg white was just clear, raw goo. I told the server this, but she didn't seem to care much. When I asked if the cook was perhaps new, I was told it had always been the same one. My plate, almost full, was cleared away without a word. No apology, no discount, no comment. The bill was taken as usual, and it wasn't a big deal to the woman or anyone else there. I'm so glad I didn't order the rare beef steak; the disappointment would have been a nightmare. I can honestly advise everyone against going there because it's nothing like the old Route 66 under the previous management, where quality was truly valued. But I think most people already know that, since, as other reviews have mentioned, there were only about 10 people in the entire restaurant that evening. This was especially surprising because we had to go to Route 66 since all the other restaurants were completely full. I've learned my lesson and now I know: never again Route 66 in Göppingen.

Nice ambience, super friendly service.

Spare ribs "all you can eat" for €24.99. The motto is truly true! The question is: How much of it can I really eat if it just doesn't taste good?! That perhaps also explains why only 10 of the nearly 150 seats were occupied. A standard portion is four ribs with a choice of three different sauces (barbecue, hot, and sweet). They're served with half a dry roll. French fries or wedges as a side order: forget it! They cost an extra €5.80. The "homemade" sweet sauce tasted like boring ketchup. The barbecue sauce was also rather insignificant. I didn't even try the hot sauce. The ribs were served carelessly. Apparently, they could have tasted good, but the first bite proved otherwise. Elsewhere, the ribs are buttery soft, and the meat falls off the bones effortlessly, almost by itself. Here, it was hard work. There were also several centimeters of slimy fat to trim. Here, you can see that the ribs were prepared without much effort. In other words: all six guests were extremely disappointed. When we asked the waitress if we could cancel the "all-you-can-eat" menu and just pay for the single portion, we were told that we would get into trouble with the chef if we canceled it again. What a disgrace. In other words: bad food, careless preparation, poor service, no compensation, and therefore definitely not a repeat.

NEVER EAT SPARE RIBS THERE!! Every Wednesday they have spare ribs - all you can eat. Forget the special. The spare ribs are heated raw and then some kind of sauce is added - that's it. Compared to that, any frozen ready-made pizza is a delight. The website says the all-you-can-eat menu costs €20.90. In the restaurant, it suddenly costs €24.90. The waitress was asked about the very poor quality and the price change. The answer: The manager isn't there, so she can't change the price or offer any concessions. Actually, the meal was physical assault - unbelievable. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, but that's about all the positive things I can say. I don't know if I'd ever want to eat spare ribs again....

Absolutely not a recommendation. At All You Can Eat Spareribs, you get carelessly prepared (probably air-fried) spare ribs with BBQ ketchup from the supermarket, which consist mostly of fat. Then a dry piece of baguette on the side. Simply sad. I've never been so disappointed with a meal, and on top of that, the price was almost €25, even though a second plate was absolutely unreasonable and hadn't been ordered. When I asked if we could at least pay for the regular portion of spare ribs without All You Can Eat, given the truly abysmal quality, there was no response whatsoever. The lady serving was and remained friendly; it certainly wasn't her fault, but at least a small concession would have been appropriate – a dessert on the house for the table or something like that could at least be offered. There are better alternatives; probably almost any alternative is more recommendable. It doesn't surprise me anymore that the place was practically empty.

The restaurant was relatively empty for a Friday night. It took a while to order drinks. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. I had spare ribs that were far too dry; the meat had to be cut with a knife! They tasted good. The sweet potato fries were well-seasoned, hot, and crispy (they served with plenty of ketchup and mayonnaise).

Super nice, nicely decorated American Route 66 restaurant. Friendly staff, quick to take your order, and the food was delicious. My son and my wife had a wonderful meal.

When I go there, I always eat a steak. I just love the flavor. A salad and a side dish are also good. Otherwise, they serve typical American food... So the selection might not be for everyone. It's a steakhouse, after all. But it's a good one. The service is also good and attentive. The ambiance is modern with an American feel. The prices are reasonable and fair. I like coming here. The clientele tends to be younger.

Fantastic steak dinner. Cooked perfectly, with delicious baked potato. The wait staff were friendly and quick. This made for a perfect dinner.

We first ordered the finger food platter, which was excellent. For the main course, colleague 1 and I had the 900 gram steak rump, which was good, but not special. Unfortunately it was a very thick cut that could have been thinner. Colleague 2 had the bacon and cheese citizen. Unfortunately, he almost puked on the table while trying to eat the last quarter. He probably didn't like the citizen. Unfortunately, it was an overall mediocre experience that was relatively expensive for what was delivered. The service was good, but not necessarily well organized. The atmosphere is “American”. All in all OK, but nothing more.

Hair in the burger. Steak ok. Asking the customer to keep their hair as evidence is understandable, but it is not good form. You could see that the burger was barely touched and should have been taken off the bill. Then we would have liked to come back. We'll never come back like this. Too bad.

Honestly great in itself, but the service leaves a lot to be desired! My dear lady opposite saw a waitress EATING a WEDGE from OUR plate just before she served our plate! She handed us the plate with a full, smacky mouth! The atmosphere is typical McDonald's.

The fler is very American and therefore stands out from other restaurants. Friendly staff who also prepared and served the food for almost 20 people in a timely manner. Priced accordingly to a steakhouse. Our food was consistently good and the steaks were cooked as ordered. You also have the opportunity to play pool billiards. Conclusion: gladly again at any time.

The food, especially the steak, was very fine and of high quality. There are deductions for the ambience, which was very simple and in my opinion unappealing, and the whims of the service staff. They were apparently busy resolving disputes most of the time, sometimes loudly. It's absolutely understandable that something like this can happen, but it doesn't have to be done in front of the guests.

Unfortunately disappointing - good food, but bad manners We visited Route 66 Steakhouse yesterday and had mixed feelings about our visit. The food was really good and the staff - a young woman and a young man - were extremely friendly, attentive and provided great service despite the full restaurant. Unfortunately, the positive impression was massively marred by the boss's behavior. During our stay we had to listen to the boss talking to his staff in a loud, derogatory tone. Such disrespectful behavior in front of guests not only appears unprofessional, but also leaves a negative impression that disrupts the entire ambience. We tipped the great service staff because they did an excellent job despite the situation. Nevertheless, we will no longer visit this restaurant because we do not want to support such treatment of employees. It's a shame because we enjoyed the food.

We are not from Göppingen and came to the Route 66 restaurant on a recommendation. Our visit took place on the beautiful terrace, which we really enjoyed with its cozy atmosphere and well-kept ambience. The location is really appealing, and the service was just as friendly and accommodating as previously described to us. We felt well looked after all around. Unfortunately, there was one aspect that clouded our otherwise positive impression. There was a conversation at the next table about paying by card. There were several people sitting at the table, including a bald man who we think is the boss. The discussion was loud and clearly audible to us as guests. We found the way this topic was discussed to be extremely unprofessional. Such internal matters are better discussed behind closed doors and not with guests sitting nearby and unwillingly witnessing such conversations. Despite this unpleasant experience, we would happily return because of the good food and excellent service. However, it would be desirable if such discussions could be conducted more discreetly in the future.

Ein richtiges Route 66 Lokal. Schöner amerikanischer Style. Die Steaks sind sensationell und in jeder Größe zu haben. Sie sind auf dem Punkt gebraten, saftig und zart. Einmal die Woche gibt es Spareribs Unlimited. Sehr zart, sehr lecker einfach mal ausprobieren. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und sehr aufmerksam. Jederzeit wieder.

Unfortunately, the quality is variable and tends to get worse and worse. The side dishes are OK, but not exceptional. We don't go there anymore because the meat just doesn't taste the same as it used to. We had very tough and dry spare ribs that you really had to force down. We also informed the service team about this and they responded very understandingly and refunded us a partial amount. Nevertheless, despite the nice reaction, we won't come back because it just doesn't taste good anymore.

I can't believe it only has 5* reviews here. It's such a beautiful location but the food is simply unacceptable. We went for all you can eat spare ribs and I have never seen anything like this in my life: the spare ribs were completely unseasoned, as if they had been baked in an oven - super dry, inedible and were then simply served with barbecue ketchup on top. We even had to force ourselves into the plate we had. The side dish was a slice of dry baguette The waitress asked us what time it was because they didn't know whether all you can eat was still "valid" so shortly before closing time (it was 8 p.m.) in general it was a really nice and great place, The table next to us also described their food (burger) with the comment “very bland”. I would really love some great authentic American cuisine, especially with the spare ribs on offer. At least the meat should be pickled and marinated... However, we probably won't come back, it's a shame

Generally really delicious food. Good selection and service is super nice. However, I think it's a shame if you order a large special to only get a 0.33 ml and generally only offer that. For the double burger €18.90 €3.50 extra for the sweet potato fries. The rest was drinking. Paid 26€! Thank God I still had something to drink in the car because you definitely won't order anything more to drink.

Food was good but not great. Plates were arranged somewhat spartanly. Salad was great. Price-performance is okay. Minus point: no parking spaces, but it's right in the middle.

Yesterday I went out to eat with a friend. I ate a plain chicken breast fillet with baked potatoes and a side salad. Unfortunately there was too much vinegar in the salad and too much curd in the baked potatoes. But it still tasted really good.

Food is tip top. My steak was ordered medium plus and the cooking level was perfect. The meat didn't cook on the plate. Perfecto. Yes, the waitresses are very young. We were all very friendly, polite and professional. Were here for the first time today. We would like to come back often.

The Route 66 has a very appealing atmosphere, we had the all you can eat ribs meal, unfortunately it took quite a long time (approx. 45 minutes) until I got the first portion, the ribs themselves were nice and tender, unfortunately a bit economical seasoned so that the only taste came from the sauce... the first helping was a long time coming... My conclusion, solid and fine, but not a revelation

Unfortunately, the cook forgot to season the fried potatoes and the minced steak probably also refused to accept the pepper and salt. Oil was not spared for this. If the food is rather expensive, everyone has to decide for themselves, for me the price-performance ratio is not right. The hard cheese is too dominant in the salad, but this is a matter of taste. For me, another visit here is not worth it.

Had spare ribs, but I expected more from an American steakhouse. The pork ribs were not marinated, not glazed, rather they looked like they had been boiled and then cooked a bit in the oven. They didn't fall off the bone either, or rather they weren't tender. The baguette was hard and felt like it hadn't been baked the first time. The salad was very good though, which is kind of ironic.

The food tasted delicious to us. I ate there for the first time with my friend. We were recommended this by many people in the area. And we are more than pleasantly surprised. The service was more than perfect. Very attentive, very visual and personable demeanor. The food was a 20 out of 10, very large portions for a good price. The employee with tattoos, earrings and blue/green eyes who works at the bar is very disrespectful towards the guests and insults them. I have never experienced such service. This man should be fired!

Unfortunately, this time we had bad experiences in our favorite restaurant in Göppingen to date, which did not relate to the food, but rather to questionable treatment of customers. In December 2023 we received a voucher directly from Route66 for a voucher value of €50 from relatives. We have often redeemed vouchers and always received a remaining credit; the divisibility of the voucher value was never questioned and was noted on the receipt or voucher in the form of the remaining value. Now, a few days ago, after consumption, we were informed that the voucher value could no longer be divided “because of the tax office” and that we would have to use the full voucher. In my opinion this is not legal. The customer needs to be clearly informed about these general conditions when purchasing a voucher, especially if they have been “different since 2024” and therefore an internal change has occurred. The voucher does not indicate that it is a one-time consumption voucher, nor is this declared on their website. The voucher only contains a credit, a date and a signature. In my opinion, informing the customer about potentially new terms and conditions or changed conditions of the company must be easily accessible or, even better, known. I also find it questionable that a voucher purchased at the end of 2023 can only be redeemed under changed conditions at the beginning of 2024. The fact that no compromise could be made here, but instead insisted on using the full value and otherwise letting the rest expire, disappoints me as a regular guest. I would have liked some flexibility and/or insight here. The food was, as always, very tasty.

We stayed at Route 66 with children and felt very comfortable. The burgers + fries were very good, the ribs and the fried potatoes were just average in my opinion, but completely OK. The very friendly service was particularly positive!! We'd love to come back and try the steaks.

The ambience is quite cool, service is quite nice, but the food... Really bad. Unfortunately. Route 66 used to be very good, but the meat on the burgers has become unpalatable. The picture says more than 1000 words. I don't know what was processed and then mashed together, but it's not good burger meat and especially not for these prices. It's really, really a shame that the quality has declined so much, but unfortunately there is no longer a recommendation for the route.

First of all I would like to say that we (20 people) were in this restaurant for the first time and that last time❗️❗️❗️ I haven't seen such unfriendly service staff for a long time. It was really bottom drawer and I give the one star to the waiter Simon because he was the only one who tried to make it right. So bottom line never again‼️‼️‼️‼️

It's a shame I would have liked to come and eat, but 0.33 liters of cola for €4.30 isn't possible. For the waiting time and the XXL schnitzel I need at least 3 pieces and I'm not willing to pay for that.

Das Essen schmeckt hervorragend. Das Servicepersonal ist sehr nett, zuvorkommend, freundlich und humorvoll.

Die Steak's sind sehr gut gemacht, die Beilagen sind reichlich auszuwählen. Der Salat war leider überhaupt nicht gut. Auch das Salz Pfeffer gemisch lag lose auf dem Teller und war schwer zu positionieren. Die Bar ist der Hammer. Alles in einem, es lohnt sich hinzugehen 👍

War das erste Mal hier und bin begeistert. Ich hatte einen Veggi Burger mit Pommes. Hat sehr lecker geschmeckt. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und kompetent. Ein gelungener Abend!!!

Das Essen hat uns super geschmeckt und ist 5 Sterne wert. Leider war die Bedienung etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig. Ich weiß nicht ob der junge Kellner noch neu war, jedenfalls hat er sehr viel geredet und uns erst das Essen eines anderen Tisches gebracht. Beim Essen hieß es, es gäbe Sourcream dazu, somit haben wir noch 1 Mayo bestellt. Am Ende hatten wir 2x Sourcream. Nun weiß ich nicht ob das in der Küche falsch gelaufen ist. Zwischenzeitlich fing der Kellner an meinen leeren Teller abzuräumen und legte das Besteck und Serviette auf einen Teller Bohnen, von denen mein Mann noch welche essen wollt (gehörten auch zu seinem Essen). Er hat sich zwar dafür entschuldigt aber alles in allem hat das ein bisschen die gemütliche Stimmung kaputt gemacht. Es war alles etwas chaotisch. Aber rein nur von Essen her, ist es voll zu empfehlen :)

Das Essen ist hier sehr gut. Man kann vieles kompinieren. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Preis1 Leistungverhältnis passt. Man sollte aber unbedingt reservieren. Kommen gerne wieder.

In Route 66 gibt's die Garantie, dass man einen mega leckeren Steak bekommt. Mehrmals gegessen - noch nie enttäuscht gewesen. Klare Empfehlung! PS. Am Wochenende lieber reservieren.

Eigentlich ein gutes Steakhaus, aber: Das Rib eye steak (big bull) war gut, aber ich habe es medium bestellt und es im Kern ein bisschen zu roh bekommen, worüber ich hinweggesehen habe, denn ich kann auch rare essen und ich hatte keine Lust mich zu beschweren und noch ein mal zu warten. Das Steak war trotzdem sehr gut. Allerdings war mein Messer sehr stumpf, weshalb es ein Kampf war damit das Steak zu schneiden. Die Bratkartoffeln waren perfekt und sehr lecker, der Salat war super, das Dessert (pancakes) war ebenfalls lecker und wunderschön angerichtet. Mich persönlich stört der salzige und gewürzte Steakpfeffer der zusammen mit dem Steak serviert wird. Normaler schwarzer Pfeffer und Salz, wären mir lieber gewesen, aber leider standen auf dem Tisch weder Salz noch Pfeffer zum nachwürzen. Eine Pfeffermühle und Salz auf jedem Tisch, sollten für ein Steakhaus eigentlich selbstverständlich sein. Der Service war anfangs sehr freundlich und das Ambiente ist super. Leider war die Bedienung nachdem wir unser Essen bekommen haben verschwunden und lange nicht mehr zu sehen und hat sich auch nicht mehr danach erkundigt ob bei uns alles passt. Sonst hätte ich sie hergewunken und nach einem anderen Messer und normalem Salz und Pfeffer gefragt. Aber selber durch den riesigen Laden zu laufen und nach dem Service zu suchen, war mir dann auch zu doof. Deshalb habe ich auch kein Trinkgeld gegeben, da kein Service mehr da war und das Messer sehr stumpf war. Die Enttäuschung darüber, war bei der Bedienung sehr offensichtlich am Gesichtsausdruck (fragender und verachtender Blick mit einem Hauch Entsetzen und Enttäuschung gepaart) erkennbar und das ist unprofessionell. Wenn man professionell ist, nimmt man die Dinge wie sie kommen und lässt sich seine Emotionen nicht anmerken und nach außen dringen, sondern lächelt und bleibt freundlich, auch wenn es mal kein Trinkgeld gibt.
