Still a nice place to stop for a bite to eat or grab a cold drink or ice cream. Unfortunately, the prices are pretty steep...

The best place to enjoy Lake Rothsee. The seating is great. The food is excellent. The Aperol is deliciously mixed and doesn't come pre-made from a bottle. The cocktail bar is especially recommended.

Pleasant surroundings. Prices and service are good. Plenty of sunbathing space, a playground, and a beach volleyball court are available. Dogs are allowed in the back area. Ideal for small children, as the water gradually gets deeper. Plenty of parking is available both nearby and within a short distance.

Absolutely lovely place to relax, and the staff is very friendly. The French fries used to be better, but otherwise, there's nothing to complain about.

A true gem on Lake Rotsee! 🌞 I spent an all-around perfect summer day here: The water is inviting for a swim in the beautiful weather, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the entire team exudes a pleasant friendliness. Even though I'm not from the area, I received a warm welcome – they even mailed me my lost AirPods charging case. Now that's what I call hospitality! 🙏 What was particularly nice: I was assured that I could walk around the lake in peace – and that I would get something delicious to eat afterwards. No sooner said than done. The vegetarian burger was excellent – juicy, fresh, and creatively prepared. 🍔 If you're looking for a place to feel good, this is the place. A big thank you to the entire team – I'd love to come back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It was a spontaneous decision to pull off the highway and have a quick snack. Beautifully located right by the lake, we were lucky that it wasn't that busy yet. The food is freshly prepared, and the kitchen announces itself via an electronic vibrator. The self-service staff were very friendly. The food was very good, and the price was reasonable. It's self-service, so only 4 stars for the service. But otherwise, very nice.

Cozy seats with a view of the lake

Just get off the highway and stroll a few steps along the lake. Enjoy a nice break and typical beer garden fare. The currywurst with fries is delicious, and the €10.80 is well worth it.

After a short, spontaneous call, the four of us got a table. Service was very nice and kept asking if everything was okay. Food was good for everyone. The chocolate Kaiserschmarrn, which was highly recommended to us, was also delicious. All in all, we can highly recommend the beach house.

Wonderful place to take a break on a bike tour.

Wir waren zu Ostern im Strandhaus und hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt: vom indischen Gericht, dem Schnitzel mit Pommes über den veganen Burger bis zum Schoko-Kaiserschmarrn alles perfekt. Lockere Atmosphäre und freundliche, schnelle, aufmerksame Bedienungen. Kein Osterstress, einfach nur genießen! Gerne wieder!

Well organized, eat well; nice shady spots

We repeatedly enjoyed it as a start to our short vacation. We were served very attentively in the preseason and I, who was lactose intolerant, was able to eat the deliciously fresh fitness salad with chicken breast and vegan dressing, which was specially requested for me in the kitchen. Thank you for such effort, I was happy!

On the way back from three great days of spring skiing in the still wintery Tyrol, we pulled off the motorway not far away to take a short break in the beautiful sunshine. By chance we ended up here at the Rother See beach house. Sometimes it's crazy: We spent three days on the ski slopes and stopped at the mountain huts - there was no Kaiserschmarrn anywhere this time! And then we drive 300 km north and completely unexpectedly we get it here - in its most delicious form - so to speak! We had to smile, enjoyed the food and enjoyed this very well-attended, hospitable place with friendly staff by the lake in the most beautiful sunshine!🌞 Thank you for the fitting culinary end to a great weekend and greetings from Thuringia!

Disaster! With sunshine announced for days, no staff on the terrace. You are not allowed to get anything yourself in the café, but are directed to the kiosk where one person rotates and the queue goes around the house. We left thirsty and hungry. How long will the tourism association continue to watch?

Update February 21, 2025: Enjoyed delicious currywurst with a beer in the first warm sun of the year. Super nice hosts, nice outdoor area... Highly recommended. _-------------++------+++ Very nice location right on Rothsee. Shortly before the end of the day we got a tasty snack and a beer. Very nice service. I'd love to drive by there again (unless it's bathing time, which is definitely busy, not for me, but that's how it should be in summer, I just prefer it to be quieter)

Beer tables for coffee without cake Sept. 2024 • couples Here in the afternoon when the sun is shining there is only one counter for coffee, ice cream and drinks. But because the beach house is supposed to be a restaurant, there is no cake whatsoever. Different at the lake opposite and we will stop there in the future. The best CAKES used to be here. The best coffee in Rothsee, delicious food and helpful staff

Very cozy restaurant with service inside and outside. Very appealing ambience and a wide range of cuisine with friendly service

hier gibt es nachmittags bei Sonnenschein nur einen Schalter für Kaffee, Eis u. Getränke. Aber weil das Strandhaus ein Restaurant sein soll, gibt es keinerlei Kuchen. Anders am See gegenüber und dort werden wir künftig einkehren. Früher gab es hier die besten KUCHEN. Und man konnte auch immer innen sitzen. Nur 1 Stern.Schade.

Nicely located. Unfortunately, the kitchen staff is completely overloaded and falls around confused. The sausage and fries I ordered took 20 minutes, then no curry sauce was warm and I was put off for another 5 minutes. Afterwards the sauce was warm but the rest was cold. I took my money back. It's a shame about the time of waiting.

That's also the reason why we always like to come back. So much effort has to be mentioned - my big birthday left nothing to be desired - everything worked out perfectly. We are pleased and extremely happy to be able to celebrate our wedding with you - here humanity, hospitality and quality are very important with a pinch of additional smiles and warmth! Underrated! The restaurant is beautifully located on a swimming lake. Unfortunately, the ambience is a bit left in the 90s, which wasn't a bad thing. Because the food was very good! And if you don't like the review, a lawyer is called in and threatened with legal action. Another star deducted for that. Drinks ok but expensive. Ambience is a bit cool. If you are visiting with a physical handicap, it would be nice to keep the heavy swinging doors open. The place was pretty empty at the time and when we left it was clear that help would have been nice.

Schlechte Organisation, ewige Wartezeit was ok ist wenn viel los ist. Man lässt die Menschen mehr als 30 Minuten anstehen 8hne mitzuteilen dass etwas aus ist bzw lange dauert.

Ein sehr schönes Lokal mit sehr netter Bedienung. Leider sind im Restaurant immer sehr viele Hunde drin. Es riecht unangenehm und überall fliegen Hundehaare herum. Insgesamt ist das sehr abstoßend und unhygienisch.

Nicht mehr so, wie es mal war. LEIDER! Die Rede ist vom Restaurant, den Biergarten mit Selbstbedienung kann ich nicht bewerten, weil wir dort noch nichts verzehrt haben. Die Portionen viel kleiner geworden und teurer, auch die Kuchen sind nicht mehr das, was sie mal waren. Der Kaiserschmarrn ist lecker aber leider viel zu überteuert. Der Kaffee war leider nur lauwarm.... Sehr schade! Entschädigt wird man durch die Lage direkt am See.

Leider Leider.. fast wie Weihnachten, sind Feiertage und Wochenenden plötzlich und unerwartet, kaum Planbar! Gutes Wetter seit Tagen vorhergesagt…Menschen die konsumieren wollen und nicht können wegen Blindheit / Fehlplanung! Der Schnell Imbiss ist ein Schnecken Imbiss.. leider können oder wollen die Inhaber das verlorene Geschäft mangels schlechter Organisation / Personal nicht sehen. An der Kasse wird von einer älteren Person kassiert, gezapft, Kaffee gemacht.. klar doch dass die Schlange von Menschen Ultra lang wird! Die Preise extrem aufgeschlagen und die früher genialen selbstgemachten Kuchen gibts auch nicht mehr. Toiletten müssten renoviert und geputzt werden.. Schade!
