Rotes Kamel in Berlin

Ate at the “Rotes Kamel” restaurant by chance. The record was a culinary experience. It just tasted great. Service was perfect in every respect. Very friendly with lots of information about the food. We will be very happy to come back.

I recently dined at Rotes Kamel and had a delightful experience that I couldn't wait to share! Welcoming Atmosphere: From the moment I walked in, the staff were welcoming and friendly. They were very attentive throughout my meal, ensuring that I had everything I needed without being intrusive. This level of service truly enhanced my dining experience. Delicious Menu Options: The menu offered quite a variety of options, catering to different tastes. I opted for the steak, and I must say it was cooked to perfection—juicy and flavourful. The sides and starters I chose also packed a lot of flavor, complementing the main dish beautifully. It's worth noting that all the food is halal, which is a significant plus for those who observe dietary restrictions. Cozy Ambiance: While the restaurant's decor isn't particularly fancy, it has a warm, family-friendly vibe that makes you feel right at home. This cozy atmosphere is perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family. The combination of attentive service, delicious food, and a welcoming environment makes it a place I'll definitely return to for another great steak. Highly recommended!

Absolutely delicious meal had. We got the sharing platter for 4 which had a great selection of meats, veg & dips. Mouthwatering! Staff were very friendly & welcoming - would definitely recommend.

The lady waitress here was lovely as was the food, however the waiter hated us the minute we walked in (as a group of 9), he was very rude to my wife and another female friend, and when he took our orders he went towards the kitchen running his hand across his neck to show as if cutting a throat, he hated us splitting the bill and initially refused...slammed our plates down and made the whole experience of eating there repulsive, 4 of our group got up and went next door after an initial drink due to his hostility

The place was cosy. The waiter warned us that they would only accept credit card from 20€. Service was decently quick, but rapidly deteriorated when the waiter forgot three of our orders, and blamed it on us. The food was ok. However, when it came to paying, the poor service kept on, as he insisted we could only pay as one group (we were thirteen, and the total amounted to over 300€ so you can imagine the inconvenience). When we asked why we had to pay as one, he stated it was ‘not to waste paper’, which is a bad joke for saying they dont want to pay as much taxes. Other irksome events occured during the dinner, like water costing 7.90 € ???? Anyways, the food was pretty good and we can see how it can be appealing, but our experience was definitely spoiled by poor serice and prices that seem higher than necessary.

Coincidentally we walked past this Lebanese restaurant, had a quick look on Google and were convinced. Delicious food, quick service and not expensive.

Not only is the food an experience, the service also deserves special praise. One employee who caught our eye in a particularly positive way is Hatoum. He was extremely attentive, friendly and managed to make us feel like we were his most personal guests. His recommendations from the menu were a hit and his enthusiasm for Lebanese cuisine was contagious. He took the time to explain the dishes and made us feel completely comfortable throughout our stay. Hatoum really left a lasting impression. It is rare to meet such committed and authentic employees who make a visit to the restaurant something special. Thanks to his warm personality and excellent service, we discovered Red Camel as our new favorite for Lebanese cuisine. Overall, the Red Camel is an absolute insider tip for anyone who wants to experience an authentic, culinary trip to Lebanon. Whether for a romantic dinner for two, a convivial meal with friends or a family celebration – you will always feel welcome and in good hands here. Conclusion: A great restaurant with great food and excellent service taken to a new level by staff like Hatoum. We'll definitely be back!

There is really great food here, with the steaks being delicious and cooked really well. The mushroom sauce and chips that go with it were also tasty, with the mushroom sauce being a standout for me. The drinks wree also quite good. The service was good. It can get busy and be a bit of a squeeze sometimes.

Very tasty food, the waiter made a suggestion, which we followed. Different dishes on a board to share. Everything was very fresh. Service was fine. The terrace was heated, it is also cozy inside, but you are a little more bothered by the smoke from the grill.

Had the vegetarian main course platter - delicious grilled eggplant, peppers, mushrooms, stuffed pockets with feta and fresh falafel, hummus, baba ganoush, peppermint tea and a bottle of water for two. Can recommend it with a clear conscience!

Sehr gutes Restaurant. Wir waren als Freundeskreis mit 6 Personen hier unangemeldet zum Abendessen. Es gibt eine gute Speisenauswahl. Besonders gefallen haben uns die variantenreichen Vorspeisen. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist gut. Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal.

Best felafel I've ever had, and the Baklava was fantastic! 👌

Out of all the restaurants we stayed at when we were in Berlin, this one is definitely the best. It was so good we even came twice. Everything from the food to the staff was excellent. At the start of every meal, you get a complimentary salad and flatbreads which are really nice to eat before food arrives. The staff especially are very nice. When we arrived, they allowed us to wait for another table instead of going for the table next to the toilet which was very sweet of them. If you are in Berlin, I would very highly recommend coming here.

8 euros a bottle of still water. Not even in Venice. Clean, particular, but be careful, as soon as they realize you're Italian they'll rip you off. (Obviously the price of water was not on the menu)

Visité con mis hijos adolescentes y mi madre y no podría haber sido una mejor comida! Nuestro camarero Hussain era tan divertido y genuinamente amable, el servicio era genial y la comida era absolutamente increíble. Increíbles platos de mezze de entrada y deliciosos pinchos y filetes fueron devorados por todos nosotros! Por mucho, la comida más deliciosa que hemos comido en Berlín, y la mejor comida libanesa que he comido en mucho tiempo. Bien vale la pena el precio por la calidad y el servicio, no puedo recomendarlo más.

Wonderful food, fantastic, friendly service from our waiter Hussain and a really lovely family friendly atmosphere. This is by far the best food we’ve had in Berlin and I can’t recommend it enough.

They're racist against Asians. I deliberately gave them 2 euros in change and told them I gave them the wrong change, but they reversed it in cents. I don't know why the reviews are good.

The small welcome salad was very good and tasty. The rump steak and fries were excellent. Perfect kitchen. Sehr gut. The service is very good and very pleasant. We recommend.

We ate at Red Camel for our wedding anniversary and it was wonderful. The reserved table was waiting for us with a few nice gestures and our waiter Hatoum welcomed us very friendly and served us very well. After a warming aperitif we had a “Red Camel Platter” for 2 people. So basically with “A little bit of everything”. Without exception it tasted delicious! As a dessert, we were served a very tasty milk cream as a "house gesture" - a Lebanese specialty - also very tasty! It was a great evening and the red camel gets a clear recommendation from us.

I don't understand how this place has such good reviews. I went to dinner and they sat my partner and I at a table for 4 people but that could be separated. Halfway through dinner they tell me to get up because two people are coming and they make me wait more than 1 minute standing for the other couple to sit down. DISGUSTING. The food portions are not enough, 3 small pieces of meat and a piece of flavorless breast, the food stays cold if you don't eat it quickly since it only comes on a board and the potatoes are very greasy. The only thing that was pleasant to the palate was the starter salad. Paying €86 for interruptions and cold food is a total disappointment. It is not a meat restaurant by any means, it has a long way to go…

Truly a Lebanese gem in the city. The food was delicious and the portions were more than generous - we were given several platters to share and everyone got multiple portions. We were a large group for dinner (30+) and our waiter Hussein was fantastic, very attentive and friendly, despite our somewhat chaotic arrival. Really recommended!

Unfortunately I can't evaluate the food because we didn't even taste it. We were served by a "passive aggressive" waiter who, with a smile on his lips and restrained aggression, simply denied us the right to choose where to sit for lunch. We were 2 people, it was around 6pm and the restaurant was practically empty. We chose to sit on the covered terrace as it was already cold outside. We chose a corner table, which could fit 4 people. There were 3 or 4 more like these, vacancies. We were simply prevented from sitting at these tables which, according to the waiter, "were for groups". The table he recommended to us, in addition to being minimal, would provide one of us with a delicious view of the wall. There was no argument that convinced the waiter that the restaurant was empty, that it is not pleasant to have lunch facing a wall and that, after all, the customer is always right. We don't just want food! We also want respect! Rotes Kamel never again!

Infelizmente não posso avaliar a comida pq, sequer, a provamos. Fomos atendidos por um garçom "passivo agressivo" que, com.um.sorriso nos lábios e uma agressividade contida, simplesmente nos negou o direito de escolher onde sentar p almoçar. Éramos 2 pessoas, já eram cerca de 18h e o restaurante estava praticamente vazio. Escolhemos nos sentar no terraço coberto, pois fora já estava frio. Escolhemos uma mesa de canto, onde caberiam 4 pessoas. Havia mais 3 ou 4 iguais a essas, vagas. Fomos simplesmente impedidos de sentar nessa mesas que, segundo o garçom, "eram para grupos". A mesa que ele nos indicou, além de mínima, proporcionaria a um dos dois, a deliciosa vista para a parede. Não houve argumento que convencesse ao garçom que o restaurante estava vazio, que n̈ é agradável almoçar encarando uma parede e que, afinal, o cliente tem sempre razão. A gente não quer só comida! Também queremos respeito! Rotes Kamel nunca mais!

Extremely overpriced for being in a touristic area. Go somewhere in Moabit for good middle-easter food at normal prices. The owners should be ashamed for charging 19.90 for the cheapest main dish.

It was absolutely great, we only had one day in Berlin and were specifically looking for a Lebanese restaurant. We really found what we were looking for here. Delicious food, especially the chicken was buttery soft and grilled really well. Great service, the waiters really care Tried to explain all the dishes and make sure we had everything!

Hatoum seems like an ambitious waiter. Everything was great, good for tourists.

My fiancée and I had dinner at Rotes Kamel, looking for middle Eastern food after many trips to that part of the world, and was not disappointed. The food was superb.. cannot say enough about how delicious it all was! We had the cold messe platter to start and it blew us away.. everything on the board was stunning. For mains, we each had a kebab and yoghurt dish, lamb and chicken, and again these were incredible. Service and hospitality from the wait staff and the hostess were top notch, all very welcoming and really help make the night. Our meal was finished off with a complimentary schnapps which was delicious amd just lovely after our food. When the bill came, I was actually shocked at how reasonable it was too.. the icing on the cake! Would highly recommend to anyone in the brandenbug gate area in berlin, outstanding! We will return before we leave Berlin.

I was missing food back home and my friend suggested this place that he tried and liked. It was so good! The service was excellent and I felt like I was back home having a typical sunday lunch. Would definitely go again 🤌😍

It was rather by chance that we came across the Lebanese restaurant in the immediate vicinity of the Brandenburg Gate via Google Maps. When we were looking for a restaurant that didn't have the “quick and easy” character, we were absolutely thrilled with “Rotes Kamel”. The food was simply amazing; fresh, tasty, good portion sizes and individual requests were also taken into account. The service was also convincing across the board. Thank you Amin for your first-class service! The entire staff was very attentive, polite and personable. We will definitely come back when we stay in the capital again 👏🫶

Superb service from moment you walk in. Relaxed, cozy atmosphere - like you are with family. Muhammara is absolutely delicious, sweet,tangy..could eat with a spoon, so delicious! Also the super tasty Sambusik Käse- fluffy, mild whipped cheese with hint of sweetness. Fabulous spot to meet friends and share.

Wir sind zufällig ins Restaurant Rotes Kamel in Berlin. Das Essen war sehr gut, die Bedienung sehr freundlich und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis unschlagbar. Beim nächsten Besuch in Berlin, werden wir auf jeden Fall wieder im "Roten Kamel" essen. Ich kann es nur weiterempfehlen.

In an area as culinary dreary as most English villages, this place stands out. Good food, well prepared with care and flavour. Unusually high-quality ingredients. And they want you here. Like, actually. It's not the cheapest lebanese meal, sure. But it's about the best I've had in berlin. And any place that makes a meal worth returning to in this town is worth celebrating.

Particularly tasty food and extremely friendly service!

I ordered a dish but was served the wrong, more expensive meal. The service was very unpleasant. At first I was told it was the same dish. Then the waitress came back and said it was more expensive and I had to pay more otherwise the waiter would have to cover the difference. The whole thing was extremely rude, especially since I had already started eating. Such discussions at the table while eating are unacceptable. One star for the kitchen, but the service was disappointing

The food tasted good and the quality was good. But for the price it was just ok. Lebanese restaurant is a bit confusing when all the service staff is Iranian and therefore the menu contains many more typical Persian dishes. It's not a problem, but please write it in Persian-Lebanese instead of lying to the guests from the start. Unfortunately, lying is apparently the order of the day here. The waiter brought a different dish than we had ordered and then claimed it was the same (just more expensive ;)) No problem, we would have had that too, but of course we didn't want to pay extra for the mistake. He then claimed he would pay the difference personally. Then his colleague came and argued for ages and tried to tell us that we had to pay more and that we had gotten an extra salad (it was also included with the other dish we ordered, so it was a lie). It was very annoying because our food got cold during the pointless discussion and the atmosphere was of course A*. It really would have been so easy to correct this mistake. Briefly apologized, asked if it was ok if we had the other meal at the same price (-2€) as the other one and everything would have been fine. Then they would have received the difference in tips and a good rating and we would have had a nice evening. Something wasn't right here, staff was under too much pressure. I'm very sorry, but I don't want to be treated like that as a guest. Here the management should work on its leadership and atmosphere in the workforce so that they don't treat the guests so terribly.

What quickly turns 5 stars into 3 stars is definitely the boss (?) of the store. The food was excellent and the two waitresses were really nice. What was incredibly disturbing, however, was that the boss eyed the two waitresses at every step and reprimanded them in an unfriendly tone for every apparent mistake. This meant that even as a guest we were afraid of doing something “wrong”. You just felt sorry for the waitresses - you definitely don't want to work here.

After trying a lot of things on the menu, it will take many more times until the last delicious meal is tasted. I am happy.

We are a Korean family traveling. The meat was all grilled to perfection and the various sauces went well together. I really enjoyed it. The Syrian woman who served us was very kind.

There are very tasty vegetarian dishes. But I would like it there where more vegetarian and vegan options. There was some free food and drinks. Which was nice and tasty. The service was good and friendly. The waiting time wasn't to long. We sat outside. It was quite cozy there. The table was a bit small, but we managed. Overall it was certainly quite enjoyable. Would recommend.

Wonderful experience! The food was incredible but what made this place so incredible was the friendly service and fun atmosphere. The owner cracked jokes with us and gave us free schnapps and baklava. A really memorable experience. Thank you!

I went to this restaurant with my sons aged 15 & 16 and the food was excellent! Service top… Worth eating here! Above all, lovely Hatouam was very welcoming and took great care of us. We would love to come back when we are in Berlin.
