Rosemarie Garten & Bar in Essen

The waiters are super rude. The waiter arrived and immediately ordered us to move around. The cafe wasn't full and we weren't supposed to occupy the tables for four, which were also small.

Detailed gastronomy. Great concept in food and drinks. Top decoration, top service, reservations work well online unless there are over 100 reservations on some days. Unfortunately one point deducted because of the noise.

I was here for the first time today. I had a nice place, even without a reservation. Breakfast was good (Marie's Morning Crush with scrambled eggs), although I would opt for the fried eggs next time. What was declared in the menu as a "portion of scrambled eggs" turned out to be (if at all...) half a portion... The rye roll was delicious, the slice of house bread was fine. The potato roll wasn't my thing, but it was okay. All in all, a nice experience with very fast and attentive service (a dog was given a bowl of water shortly after arriving with his owner 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾)

A great atmosphere in itself, but unfortunately a friend of mine had a large piece of plastic in his burger. The waitress just shrugged her shoulders and in the end asked for the full price. We won't go there again.

We always like to come here to eat, have a drink and chat with friends. The food is delicious and interesting (I like the pumpkin soup and the sweet potato fries), but the salads are also great, as are many other things. I'm happy to drink lilet vive(t)here, but of course also hot drinks. Greetings Anne😘

Despite the high number of people, the food was served quickly and at the same time for 4 people. The service staff was friendly.

A nice restaurant with nice service. You feel comfortable when you sit there, the volume is also okay. The menu is large and actually has something for everyone. The food is good. We and our children were satisfied.

Beautiful nostalgic cafe bistro restaurant in the building of Germany's largest cinema, the "Lichtburg". Super friendly fast staff. Very attentive. Delicious homemade cake. Great view of the Christmas castle square, the cathedral and currently the Ferris wheel. Great relaxing and then fresh again for the Christmas market or shopping for your loved ones at Christmas.

Nice location in downtown Essen. Friendly and quick service. Wide range of different types of food. Price-performance is right. When the weather is nice, sit outside and watch the hustle and bustle on Kettwiger Straße. Even during the week, we recommend making a reservation.

We’re Australians travelling through Germany and can say.. best breakfast and probably best food we’ve had here so far. Especially the fresh baked bread and croissant. Bacon and eggs were also 🔥🔥🔥

We went there for breakfast on vacation with a small child. We and our wishes were responded to in a very friendly manner. The conditions were very nice. The breakfast was very tasty, value for money was absolutely fine. I was very excited that there was a nursing and changing room, unfortunately not a given. We really liked the atmosphere, it invites you to linger. We would definitely come again.

Delicious food, great selection of drinks and a feel-good atmosphere

The food was very tasty, as were the drinks. Unfortunately we had to wait a very long time, about 30 minutes for a cake that only had to be served from the display case. The shop was barely full, only a few guests. The atmosphere is modern and cozy, but I find it too crowded, the hanging swings unflattering and the white bicycle, given its significance, unfortunately really tasteless.

During my trip, I visited this place several times and highly recommend it for its excellent balance of price and quality. The Egg Benedict toast was by far the best I’ve ever had — the caramelized onion adds an incredible flavor. My favorite drinks were the chocolate with pistachio and the hot chocolate, but everything else was equally delightful, including the salmon toast, yogurt with granola, and the juices. Everything was outstanding and exceeded my expectations.

Last week I was traveling to Essen for work and had dinner in the restaurant with many colleagues in the evening. The service and the ambience were top 👍. The food was also very good. But the final spark for the 5 stars was missing.

Great selection of food and drinks. And everything is super delicious.

We ordered pasta. So if you're hungry, don't order these. The plate just covered the bottom. There's really not much in quantity and at almost 15 euros, nothing special. I asked if the pasta was at least homemade, but of course not. If you have to eat something afterwards because you're not full, you can make the pasta straight at home. Once and never again.

Rosemarie stands out from the other main cafés and chain restaurants with a certain individuality. Very friendly service.

Very nice cafe/bistro. The name says it all: you feel like you're sitting in a garden. I had a salad and tried the vegan chicken alternative - very tasty!

For a party of 6 people, the Rosemarie Bar&Garten accommodated the desire to sit on the edge. After all the guests had arrived, we were shown to our seats in a timely, safe and friendly manner. At the beginning we ordered various drinks, which were brought to us quickly. The service staff picked up everyone's starters and main courses without any mix-ups, taking special requests into account and responding quickly to requests for dips/salt and pepper. The main courses also reached the table warm and promptly after the starters had been cleared away. Further requests or satisfaction were regularly asked. The non-alcoholic and alcoholic cocktails, as well as the house-made bread, were particularly impressive. If you want a location with indirect light, competent staff and an overall pleasant atmosphere, you will find an address in Rosemarie Garten&Bar.

Very nice bistro restaurant cafe. It's hard to go into it in so many different ways. Well-kept atmosphere and guests. The outdoor area still contributes to seating in late summer. It can get quite crowded at times. A little tip it is next to the Lichtburg.

It's a shame that it's on a Monday evening - here today September 23rd. There are no more pancakes at 7 p.m. One should assume that every good cook has the ingredients for a pancake. Unfortunately today it wasn't as great as usual. Probably because it was full. Service not that great either. We waited forever to order the dessert, which was a shame because it was otherwise a great shop.

The atmosphere is calm and the service is nice

We were traveling for work and still had some time in Essen before the train left, so we went here for something to eat. We really liked the decor and also enjoyed the food. Our table was mixed up on the bill, which I only noticed two days later. Communication was very friendly and the problem was solved quickly. Other companies should follow this customer friendliness as an example. I would love to come here again, there are still a few dishes on the menu that I would like to try.

I had an outdoor meal here on Saturday and was very satisfied. The service was also very friendly and quick. The food was excellent and just enough. The homemade lemonade was very tasty. When I went to the toilet I saw some of the facilities. Very, very lovingly furnished with attention to detail. All in all a deserved 5***** rating.

So first of all: the location is simply wonderful, beautiful! Super stylish and tastefully decorated. The young lady, who is there extremely often and has long, dark hair and sometimes likes to wear braids, is an absolute asset to the store! Highly professional, friendly, calm, service-oriented and absolutely reliable. Unfortunately, we have already had two ladies in service who, in our opinion, weren't really nice and couldn't handle stress. But since we usually have the girl in question as our waitress, we are completely satisfied. We love Egg Benedict for breakfast! Never eaten better! Extremely tasty and sometimes a little unusual. The portion is nice and big. The only drawback is that the poached egg is sometimes not cooked to the right degree of doneness and is often far too cooked. But we can live with that too. The other breakfast compositions are also very tasty, the rolls are finally NOT the cheapest product out of the bag like in many other restaurants. However, they taste fresh and crunchy. The croissants and pastel de nata are insanely good! You definitely have to try them! The cold cuts also taste good, even if there is a bit too little. You would have to readjust it a bit. The vegetables that come with it could be a little crunchier. The tomatoes and cucumbers were already very soft last time. The coffee tastes very tasty, although the cocoa tastes a bit watery to us. We've been there once for lunch so far and it was very mixed. The burger was excellent, but we didn't like the pasta dish at all. We personally thought that was really bad. Overall, we love the store!

Wow, what an atmosphere. I am overwhelmed by the loving decor of this restaurant. Regarding the food, in my opinion the burger is rather "average" but that's my personal assessment (I had so many burgers that were too good, maybe a little too spoiled 😂) But the dessert was absolutely amazing. Delicious! The cocktails are perfect, in my case called Bourbon Sour or Whiskey Sour. Great mix! Service was top and you felt comfortable at all times! Thanks to the team! If I ever find myself in Essen again, I would love to visit this restaurant again!

Nicely equipped and clean restaurant. The service is courteous and friendly. Unfortunately, the food/breakfast is nothing special and of mediocre quality. In my opinion, far too expensive for that.

The daiquiri was very tasty but a fries for €6 with two dips. I actually think the price is okay, but not when you only get 9 pieces of fries. The portion was so ridiculously small, I've never seen that before 😂two dips and not even one was half empty. Then why are there two dips for 9 fries?

The coffee and the ambience were great! Unfortunately, our waitress and the waitress who collected our money were very unfriendly. Therefore we felt very uncomfortable and will not visit this cafe again in the future. A pity!!

The restaurant is beautifully located centrally in the city center. From the terrace you have a great view of the square at the cathedral. The ambience inside is also appealing. The service is courteous and friendly. The salad we ordered was tasty in the bowl with the dressing and was sufficient for lunch instead of a meat dish. However, the olives should preferably be without stones, so that eating them is more aesthetic. ;-) Still a good night out tip for Essen City.

I think the atmosphere here is wonderful, the staff are very accommodating and friendly. My salmon burger was very tasty and something different thanks to the Rostis. Mousse au chocolate is highly recommended, my girlfriend raved about the homemade sorbet. It's best to reserve in advance, otherwise it will be difficult to get a table.

The restaurant "Rosemarie Garten & Bar" impresses with very high-quality food and drinks, which make every visit a culinary highlight. The cozy atmosphere invites you to linger and offers the perfect setting for a first-class breakfast. Despite the often very full occupancy, you will find a quiet, hidden location here that gives the restaurant a special charm. My personal favorite is the Purple Cloud Iced Tea with Lavender and Lime – a refreshing and unique drink that you should definitely try. Highly Recommended!

I was there for dinner with my girlfriend today, very unfriendly staff. I ordered a p**star martini, but it wasn't a p**star martini. Price-performance ratio is not the same. The chicken in my dish was not freshly prepared. It was ready chicken out of the bag. And I had a fly in my food. It was definitely our last visit there.

Very chic atmosphere and terrace seating. In the middle of the pedestrian zone, but still quiet. Friendly service and an attractive selection of dishes. Veal schnitzel with cream sauce and sweet potatoes is my favorite.
