We were there two weeks ago. A very nice hotel. The staff were all very friendly and every wish was fulfilled. The breakfast was absolutely great. Thanks for the nice weekend. We'd love to come back.

Dear Sir or Madam, we arrived at 4:00 p.m. the room was not ready yet. After waiting for an hour and a half we got another room. The cleanliness in the room leaves something to be desired. At 3:45 p.m. there was no more cake in the restaurant. We asked if it was possible to sit on the terrace and wait for our room to be ready, it was not possible. The terrace wasn't set until 5:00 p.m. Reception, service and restaurant services leave something to be desired. We ordered an ice cream sundae since there was no cake left. The ice cream never came, although they apologized later that the ice cream had been forgotten. We enjoyed dinner very much VG Schnoor family

I loved every bit of this stay in this hotel. Check in was swift and friendly. The wish to have a quit room was taken into consideration and we ended up in a spacious and tranquil room on the second floor, facing the parking lot. The beds were comfortable and large. Everything was spotless and in good upkeep. There is air conditioning, which worked very well. The blinds block all of the light, guaranteeing a restful sleep even in the middle of summer. I need to especially swoon about one thing in particular : Breakfast was spectacular and very tasty. At our first stay, unfortunately we had to leave quite early and had not yet worked up an appetite, but the bits that we ate were very good. Coffee was made expertly and was also very good. The second time we stayed we especially took time out of our schedule to ensure we had time to fully savor the food. Everything is prepared with a lot of attention to detail. It is decorated in the most beautiful way. Be sure to have breakfast, it is definitely worth it! I would gladly stay here again and enjoy the hotel and its hospitality.

Bad hotel. When you see the housekeeper, everything is clear to you. Arrogant, arrogant, full of herself. No wonder the staff changes so often. A house dragon is responsible for the staff. Unbelievable.

Quietly located, lovingly furnished and very friendly staff. There are enough parking spaces for vehicles. The rooms are quite large and comfortably furnished.

We were there for the Kiel Week and stayed two nights. The hotel is perfectly located close to the fjord and in the middle of the Kieler Woche. Our room was ok and in order, the price-performance ratio was appropriate for the time and the location and at a Kiel week level. When it comes to service, we didn't meet anyone who wasn't friendly and nice. Nevertheless, we were missing a certain level of attention and focus on the customer. For a hotel of this level, it shouldn't be the case that people forget to say hello at reception or that you are left standing at the bar because the staff is chatting or that orders are forgotten at breakfast. Basically, this is a great hotel with room for improvement when it comes to service.

Were guests again for the Kiel Week. The hotel is just really beautiful. Breakfast buffet at its best (important for me: the coffee is excellent).. Staff very professional and competent, helpful and courteous. The hotel is located in a small forest area and very central to the Kiel Fjord (Kielline) and you can reach the city center in 15 minutes on foot. All in all: The Kieler Kaufmann is the best thing you could want and treat yourself to when visiting Kiel. Thank you very much for your hospitality...we will definitely be back....

Very nice location, service was good, rooms very nice. Unfortunately there are some shortcomings. It is very difficult for people with walking difficulties to take a shower as this has to be in a high bathtub. The food was very bad, I don't really know how it was. Below our room there was an outdoor reception with the Prime Minister of Schleswig Holstein, until after midnight. It was not possible to fall asleep until then. We would have liked to have been informed about this when booking.

I really liked the Hotel Kieler Kaufmann. The staff at breakfast and at the reception were very friendly and helpful, there is a large selection of delicious things at breakfast that are lovingly prepared and the room was also nice. It's a shame that the restaurant was closed on Sunday. I really liked the fact that Germany's European Championship game was shown on a big screen (despite the bar being closed). You could buy a beer at reception and other guests also had their own drinks and snacks which wasn't a problem. It had something of a living room atmosphere with strangers. I'll definitely come back if I end up in Kiel.

The Romantik Hotel Kieler Kaufmann is a beautiful hotel, but unfortunately the service and staff leave a lot to be desired. An example of this is the increased room prices during the Kiel Week. Despite the increased number of guests, the staff was not increased accordingly. Another problem arose on Sunday, June 23rd, 2024, when the hotel bar was not occupied even though the European Championship soccer game between Germany and Switzerland was being broadcast there. Apparently the hotel's only bartender was off duty, which the staff says is always Sundays and Mondays. In view of the special events such as the Kiel Week and the outstanding European Championship football matches, better personnel planning would have been appropriate. In addition, we were unable to make a reservation at the hotel's restaurant because an event was taking place there. This resulted in us having to look for an alternative outside the hotel. When we kindly pointed out these grievances at reception when we left, we encountered incomprehensible and insulting behavior from one of the employees. Our comment was laughed at and we were asked if we had any idea how busy there was during Kiel Week and where the additional staff would come from. We found it particularly inappropriate that a young, inexperienced employee wanted to explain to us the importance of an annual event in Kiel, even though my partner was born here. In addition, we are also employers of several companies and know very well that you have to regularly adapt to various circumstances. Before the mini cruise to Oslo with the entire family, we chose the "Kieler Kaufmann" as the meeting point and booked an overnight stay there. The stay was excellent. The staff is friendly, helpful and interested in the guest. The rooms were all in the new building, were tastefully furnished, and were easily accessible via the elevator, even for older family members. We all ate at the “Kaufmannsladen”. The service there was also very courteous and the food was delicious. The service staff and the kitchen were also happy to accommodate the wishes of the youngest 6-year-old passenger.😃 We would choose the stay and meeting point for the mini cruise in this form again at any time and can only thank you for the entire service.👍

Beautiful hotel in a quiet location. The room was very comfortable, well maintained garden, good quality breakfast. Unfortunately the swimming pool and sauna were closed. Still, I had a very pleasant stay.

Really nice place. Close to the city, but quiet, with forest right outside the door. The room was suitably large. Clean and great bed. Breakfast was with a large delicious selection. Cheesecake is highly recommended. Was perhaps unlucky, but the room was not ready at 4:30 p.m. even though check-in was from 3 p.m. The rump steak was delicious, but the potatoes were cold and the asparagus tasteless.

Little things often make the difference. At Kieler Kaufmann, however, it's not just the staff that impresses. The well-kept house is in a very quiet and beautiful location. The rooms are tastefully furnished - and also sparkling clean. The breakfast is one of the best we have enjoyed in hotels. It was so convincing that we felt compelled to visit the restaurant in the evening (reservation recommended!). We had expected a warm starter, but all in all the dinner was also very (!) good. The service is also convincing here: a clear recommendation from us. We'd love to come back.

Wir waren, wie jedes Jahr, anlässlich des „Gourmet Festival“ im Kieler Kaufmann. Den Service und das Hotel kann man nur „HERVORRAGEND“ beschreiben. Das Menü fanden wir, zum ersten mal, nicht so gut. Trotzdem freuen wir uns schon auf nächstes Jahr 👍

Super tolles Hotel! Hier passt alles. Essen top, Bar super, Zimmer wunderschön, Lage perfekt. Gelegentlich könnte der Service ein wenig direkter sein. Wenn man ein paar Minuten warten muss bis der Service sich erniedrigt den Gästen den Platz zuzuweisen, dann ist das einfach unnötig. Insgesamt aber ein absolut perfektes Haus und wir werden sehr gerne wieder kommen !

Ich hatte "nur" das Restaurant besucht, kann es aber empfehlen. Das Haus liegt auf einer Anhöhe und bietet einen schönen Blick über die Kieler Förde. Das Preisniveau ist gehoben, dafür ist aber auch das Essen von hoher Qualität. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich.

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Tea time in der Hotelbar. Sehr schmackhafte Auswahl von Sandwich, scones mit Aprikosen Marmelade und clotted cream sowie diversen Pralinen, kleinem apfelstrudel und macarons.

Für mich mittlerweile mein Lieblingshotel in Kiel. Das Frühstück ist eine Sensation.

Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter, die Zimmer waren sehr sauber. Das Frühstückebuffett war mit vielen sehr guten regionalen Speisen bestückt.

Alles war einfach wunderbar. Ich werde ganz sicher wiederkommen.

Wie immer ein sehr geräumiges, gepflegtes Zimmer mit Blick auf die Bucht, sehr freundlicher Service am Empfang und sehr gutes Essen im Kaufmannsladen. Alle sehr zu empfehlen!

Wir waren schon des Öfteren bei Ihnen und sind immer wieder begeistert. Die Zimmer sind Top, der Service sowie das Frühstücksbuffet ist ebenfalls Top. Die besondere Ambiente in diesem Jahr war der Viele Schnee in der Vorweihnachtszeit und hat den Besuch in Ihrem Hotel noch einmal abgerundet.

Das Hotel ist sehr gepflegt und die Räume im ganzen Haus sind so geschmacklich dekoriert, gerade zur Weihnachtszeit einfach super. Man sieht auch ,wie viel Arbeit und Liebe der Frühstückstisch hergerichtet wurde.

Kurzfristig gebucht, alles hervorragend vom Ablauf. Sehr freundliches Personal in allen Bereichen, reibungsloser Check In, ein hervorragendes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis im Restaurant Kaufmanns-Laden - alle gewünschten Änderungen der Bestellung sofort umgesetzt, sehr gute Auswahl an Weinen und vor allem die Bar Soll & Haben konnten unseren Abend bestens abschließen. Und für einen kurzen Spaziergang runter zur Kiellinie ist das Haus ideal gelegen. Aber vor allem das super Frühstück ist jede Übernachtung wert, mit so viel Liebe, die ganzen Kleinigkeiten, welche hier für den Gast bereitgestellt werden. So etwas habe ich in keinem anderen Haus bisher erleben dürfen. Wir kommen gerne wieder und verbinden die Übernachtung als Zwischenziel für unsere Dänemark-Urlaube. Wechselnde Ergänzungen zur Speisekarte, regionaler Bezug. Käse und Bier aus der Region. Sehr gute Portionen. Weltbestes Frühstück.

Ich war leider nur als Tagesgast hier. Gutes Essen, schönes Hotel.

Wir haben zwei Nächte im Kieler Kaufmann verbracht. Leider war unser Aufenthalt nicht die ruhige Auszeit, die wir uns erhofft hatten. An sich macht das Hotel einen guten Eindruck und auch unser Zimmer war wirklich schön. Allerdings fanden in dem Flur, in dem unser Zimmer lag, Renovierungsarbeiten statt. So wurde den einzigen Tag, den wir im Hotel verbracht haben, im Nachbarzimmer von 09:30 bis 16:00 Uhr gebohrt und gehämmert… Weder konnten wir so unserer zu erledigenden Arbeit, noch unserer Freizeit nachgehen. Zusätzlich bekam unser Hund aufgrund der Lärmkulisse Angst. Als wir die Problematik ansprachen, bekamen wir als Entschuldigung ein kostenloses Frühstück angeboten. Am Ende wurden aber doch beide Frühstücke abgerechnet. Insgesamt war dies also eher eine ernüchternde Erfahrung. Bei den aufgerufen Preisen erwarte ich ehrlich gesagt schon, dass Zimmer unmittelbar angrenzend an größere Umbauarbeiten nicht belegt werden. Und auch die Kommunikation des Personals bezüglich des Frühstücks hätte besser funktionieren müssen. Schade, das Hotel ist schön, ruhig gelegen und hätte eine regelmäßige Anlaufstelle unserer zukünftigen Kielaufenthalte werden können.

Ein sehr schönes Haus in ruhiger stilvoller Lage. Die Einrichtung der Zimmer ist sehr geschmackvoll und in der Suite ist sehr viel Platz! Das Frühstücksbuffet ist sehr geschmackvoll, ausgesucht und hochwertig. Das Abendessen im Restaurant war reichlich und hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Der Service allgemein ließ zu wünschen übrig.

In Kiel gibt es jedes Jahr den „Bettenwechsel“. Kieler können dann für einen tollen Preis bestimmte Hotels in der Stadt einfach mal selbst erleben. Diese Aktion haben wir genutzt, für eine Nacht im Kieler Kaufmann. Die Lage ist einfach toll, teilweise Blick auf die Kieler Förde bzw. Park. Es ist ruhig, da es in einer „edleren“ Gegend liegt. Parkplätze gibt es gratis und es stehen auch wirklich viele zur Verfügung. Auch E-Autos können hier an zwei Plätzen geladen werden. Der Strom-Preis steht direkt an den Säulen dran. Im Hotel selbst gibt es noch ein Restaurant und eine Art Bistro, alles sehr gepflegt und bezaubernd gemütlich eingerichtet - auf jeden Fall aber gehoben. Auch der Service ist sehr zuvorkommend, nie überheblich und hat den Blick für den Gast und die Wünsche. An der Rezeption war es ebenfalls schnell, zuvorkommend, sehr freundlich und man fühlt sich einfach willkommen. Es gibt im Prinzip einen „Neubau“ und einen „Altbau“. Wir waren im Neubau untergebracht. Der Eingang und auch im Hotel selbst ist auf den ersten Blick alles Rollstuhlgerecht. Unser Zimmer war in der zweiten Etage, mit Blick auf die Kieler Förde! Großes, sauberes, freundliche Zimmer mit einem großen und gemütlichen Bett. Ein großer begehbarer Kleiderschrank, Bademäntel (XL) mit Schuhen, Nähset, Schuhpolierer, Safe. Eine Minibar, die man selbst befüllen kann, wenn man möchte - also im Prinzip ein eigener Kühlschrank. Nespressomaschine mit Kaffeepads, Kaffesahne, Zucker. Zusätzlich eine gratis Flasche Wasser und Tee. Im Bad gab es eine riesige Dusche, die man auch zu zweit nutzen könnte. Bodylotion, Abschminkpads, Haartrockner, sehr viele Handtücher, auch eine extra Tasche mit Handtüchern und Saunatüchern für den Wellnessbereich. Das Zimmer hat richtig große Fenster, die viel Licht rein lassen. Diese kann man mit den schweren Vorhängen wirklich sehr gut verdunkeln, so dass man in Ruhe schlafen kann und sich auch vor potentiellen Blicken schützen kann. Die Fenster lassen sich auch öffnen! Es gibt zwar eine Klimaanlage, die man nach Wunsch einstellen kann, aber wer direkt frische Luft möchte, kann das machen. Im Wellnessbereich gibt es einen Pool (nicht beheizt), der ausreichend ist um kurze Bahnen zu schwimmen. Zusätzlich gibt es Saunen. Wir waren in der Bio-Infrarot-Sauna. Dort lag auf einer Bank ein Pflaster, das war leider nicht so schön. Da ansonsten aber alles hygienisch einwandfrei war, gibt es keinen Punkt abzug. Man kann sich auch dort direkt umziehen, außerdem gibt es gratis Wasser und Kaffeespezialitäten aus einer Maschine, sowie Tee und Kakao. Auf den Ruheliegen kann man sich ausruhen oder aus den dort ausliegenden Zeitschriften und Zeitungen auch etwas zum Lesen nehmen. Das Frühstücksbuffet war ebenfalls reichhaltig, frisch zubereitet und sehr lecker. Frische selbstgemachte Säfte (nicht nur Orangensaft!), frische Brötchen, frisches Gebäck, Aufstriche, Bacon, Würstchen, Ei und Eierspeisen, Omelette, Müslivariationen - einfach eine gute und feiner Auswahl um in den Tag zu starten. Wir waren auf jeden Fall begeistert! Für den Preis - einfach top!

Kleines dunkles Zimmer, das hellhörig über den Flur war. Die Deckenlampe flackerte, der Fernseher war ein preiswerter Telefunken ohne Bedienungsanleitung der Fernbedienung oder Liste, wo welche Sender zu finden sind. Fernbedienung gibt diverse Streamingdienste per Knopfdruck her, keiner funktioniert jedoch. Spiegel war wasserfleckig und an der Duschbrause hing ein gekräuseltes Haar, zudem war die Abdichtung nicht ganz dicht. Nachts gab es immer wieder starke Heizungsgeräusche. Der 'Wellnessbereich' ist super, um Sportaktivitäten nachzugehen, für Entspannung ist der Raum mit Schwimmbecken jedoch deutlich zu laut. Die Lage ist wunderschön am Düsternbrooker Gehölz und Kieler Förde gelegen. Fazit: Ich bin sehr froh, nicht den vollen Preis für ein DZ gezahlt haben zu müssen. Die Erwartungen waren an ein 4 Sterne Hotel mit dem bekannten Image und impulsanten Eingangsbereich nicht erfüllt.

Großartiger Service, sehr höfliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Das Hotel strahlt durch die Mitarbeiter eine behagliche Atmosphäre aus. Das Frühstück mit regionalen Produkten ist fantastisch und hebt sich vom Standard Industrie Frühstück von so vielen Hotels ab. Der SPA Bereich völlig relaxt und unaufgeregt, sehr sauber. Ich kann dieses Hotel als das Beste in Kiel bezeichnen und komme immer wieder gerne wieder. Danke an das gesamte Team!

Ich war schon in vielen Hotels, aber hier war es besonders schön. Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal, Hotel perfekt gelegen am Waldpark an der Waterkant mit coolen Cafes in der Nähe. Vor allem die Saunen und der Pool waren perfekt. Danke!

Absolutes Traumhotel das den Namen Romantikhotel mehr als verdient. Sauberkeit Service und Ausstattung sind einwandfrei. Der Spabereich ist wunderbar und lädt zum relaxen ein. Die Bar ist sehr angenehm. Wir kommen wieder…
