Always great, great prices and super tasty :) I've been there about 10 times and was always more than satisfied. Even in the new location, still very good.

The Bergklause is a small restaurant with only 7 tables. Simple ambience. The waitress was very friendly and quick and attentive in her service. The menu portions were more than generous. There is absolutely nothing to complain about in terms of taste either. We definitely won't be there for the last time. 😉We only recommend it because of the owners, otherwise we won't get any more space if we want to appear there😉 because everything is fully booked. Highly recommended!👍👌

I had eaten in the old shop what felt like 10 years ago and was already impressed back then. The new shop is reminiscent of a pub that we know from the past and somehow miss. I think the new store is significantly larger, with plenty of parking spaces in front of the door. We wanted to order 3x schnitzel and 3x side dishes. Of course, the lady behind the counter knows her pity and immediately recommended that we only order fried potatoes and croquettes once. We can take orders at any time. To be clear, she was absolutely right, we didn't even finish the two side dishes. My wife wanted her hollo separately and this was served exactly that way. And of course it happened the way it had to. In the end, of course, all three of us picked up our loser box with the leftovers. Long story short. If you want German cuisine with hand-made schnitzel, this is the right place for you. Plus a super nice chef and a friendly woman at the counter.

We had reserved and were warmly welcomed. That was it for now. We had a good seat, got the menu and were able to order our drinks relatively quickly, which came after 10 minutes. When it was served, we wanted to place our food order straight away, but were refused with the information "that will take longer anyway". And it stayed that way, so unfortunately I can't give a rating for the food. The waitress stubbornly looked past us and focused primarily on the regular guests. When even the next table, which was being diligently served, noticed that our faces were getting longer and longer, our stomachs were growling louder and louder and the guests even pointed out to the waitress that no one had been at our table for a long time, a cheeky comment came: "I've been working here for a long time 15 years ago, everyone who comes here knows what they're getting into." Um, yes... You can do it, but it's not appropriate. After 45 minutes of very slowly drinking our drinks, we left the pub (that's all you can say about this place) hungry. Nobody even noticed. We will definitely not come here a second time. Addendum: We were there a second time and received a very friendly welcome. The food was great and luckily we had “size advice” for the portions, otherwise we would probably have been completely lost in the giant schnitzels. The drinks came promptly and the wait for the food was okay. However, we canceled the second portion of fried potatoes because we were extremely full, otherwise we would have had to be wheeled out. Conclusion: Sometimes it's worth a second look to make up for the first impression.

This time we were 5 schnitzel brothers and we were served different and delicious schnitzel variants👌 The Holsteiner, Jäger and the Rahm-Schnitzel found their way to our table. As always, everything was super tasty, freshly tapped and without any complaints. Our favorite waitress Melli was in a great mood as always, a bit cheeky..😉 but very accommodating 👍 Conclusion: successful evening, great food, great service. A word from me about the negative reviews. In my opinion, the Bergklause is a Kiel institution when it comes to culinary delights. The large portions speak for themselves👌👍It can take some time from the order to the finished plate on the table. Regular Bergklausen visitors know this. We have also waited a long time for our schnitzels. But we also know that the wait is always worth it. Melli the condition is already cult. She has a good instinct when it comes to people who overestimate themselves when ordering dishes 😉 Always a cheeky saying on her lips...but basically a lot of love☺️ Ultimately, she is the good soul of the Bergklause...without her a lot would be missing. For me, the Bergklause is rustic, cheeky... but always warm, fresh and delicious and I was always happy and full when I left. I'm already looking forward to the next meal🥰

Today was our first time eating schnitzel at the Bergklause and it definitely won't be the last time. We enjoyed it very much.

Nothing for the little hunger in between. Even the greatest hunger is satisfied here. Plus friendly staff and very tasty food. A little tip: listen to the waitress when she tells you that you won't be able to make the schnitzel size you chose! You may also have to wait a little longer for your food, but that's because the chef works his magic alone in the kitchen.

Also at a new address: Simply delicious... Always, always with pleasure.

This is a special place 🤗 Schnitzel freshly beaten and deliciously prepared! Prices are absolutely OK. Steak and shish kebab were also delicious! Really great, but unfortunately the wait for the food, almost 2 hours, was underground! But we'll be back if it's simply delicious 🤤

After a long wait, our beloved Bergklause has opened again, and of course we were there on opening day. We had to wait a bit for drinks and food (big rush) but it was very worth it. We had the three burger options and surprisingly only I managed the large starboard burger. My brother ate the cream schnitzel (500 g) and just managed it. 😇 We look forward to the next visit with you 💪💪💪 We were here again today and I tried the Holstein style children's schnitzel. I just managed it and it was very tasty 😋😋😋 Here you will be served like royalty and the food is prepared and served with a lot of heart.

Just like before. Larger and more modern but still as rustic as the old location. The friendly service and chef are also the same as before and that's a good thing. An info for everyone who has never been there, yes you have to wait a long time for drinks and food but it's still worth it. Dealing with one feels like being at home. A huge pile of meat on your plate is definitely not for vegetarians, but other restaurants are suitable for them. In this case, this pile of meat is the trademark for the Bergklause and I would say the magnet that attracts men and boys to this institution. I can only highly recommend it to every man and young group who are not necessarily concerned with the aesthetics of their food. A little tip to everyone: let the waitress advise you on your decision. She knows how much you can manage or not manage (see photo if you can't manage your meal).

I don't even know where to start. Not that you have to wait 45 minutes for a drink to arrive. Service is also given a lower priority. The meal takes 2 hours until the guest is allowed to eat it. But this should also be carefully considered. Nobody can do anything terrible with food. Even at the federal level it was more presentable. And then nothing fresh, everything from bags and boxes. Thank you never again. Absolutely terrible.

Finally Bergklause again. The best schnitzels and rump steaks far and wide. Very nice service. The food takes a little time to be ready, but it's worth the wait. Be sure to reserve in good time, even if the hermitage now has more places, it is still well attended. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

The Bergklause is a real institution in Kiel and you simply have to experience the store for yourself. Before the move, the restaurant was like the clock, I don't know what the decoration is like after the move. Go there and experience a piece of Kiel's ancient rock.

Leider nicht vorbestellt, um 18 Uhr war noch zu 🤷, Kurz nach 18 Uhr war dann öffnen und wir wurden vertröstet, das erst um 19:30Uhr Essen geben kann , weil noch nichts vorbereitet ist und dann kommt eine große Gruppe, also wurden wir gebeten zu gehen.🤷 Tja, wer nicht will hat schon!!! Burger King war dann auch OK 😊👍 Vielleicht das nächste Mal 😉

Schnitzel, Schaschlik und Steaks vom anderen Stern.

Von meinem Opa empfohlen, der dort schon vor zig Jahren gespeist hat, fuhren wir zu sechst hin. Von außen sieht es aus wie eine zwielichtige Eckkneipe. Aber spätestens als wir sas Essen auf dem Tisch hatten, 900 gramm Wiener Schmitzel für 16,90!!!! Waren wir hin und weg. Kein Gnubbel, keine Sehne, einfach nur richtig gutes Fleisch. Hammer Preis Leistung. Wir kommen wieder!

Sehr nette Bedienung. Und super leckeres Essen. Tolles uriges Ambiente. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Unscheinbar aber unschlagbar!!!!!! Wir hatten lange nicht mehr so einen netten und lustigen Abend. Die junge Frau hinterm Tresen ,Bestellung aufnehmen, Bier zapfen und Essen servieren, ist einfach spitze. Man sollte was die Größe der Gerichte angeht auf ihre Beratung hören. Trotz vieler Gäste hatte sie immer noch Zeit mit einem zu reden. Wie gesagt wir hatten vom Service und vom Essen her ( danke an den Koch, der muss auch erwähnt werden) lange nicht mehr so ein gutes Lokal. Wir kommen bestimmt und gerne wieder.

Bedienung wahr Nett, Schnitzel ist mega Lecker und Frisch, und das Preis Leistungs Verhältnis ist echt super für das was man bekommt. Bei manchen Restaurants kann man von einem vernünftigen Schnitzel nur träumen, da können die sich mal ein beispiel von euch nehmen. Macht weiter so Bergklause

Man merkt, dass diese authentische Kneipe einen ordentlichen Koch hat. Kann nur die Schaschlik-Spieße nicht empfehlen, weil es nicht ordentlich durchgekocht wird. Dadurch dass mein Spieß innen roh war, wollte ich den Rest mitnehmen und Zuhause anbraten. Das Personal war nicht damit einverstanden und hat mir das in einer "Loser-Box" mitgegeben. Menschlich in jeglicher Hinsicht ein Fauxpas.

Sehr schönes Ambiente. Tolle Atmosphäre. Wie eine Hafenbar. Und ein sehr angenehmes Preis Leistungsverhältnis. Seit dem renoviert wurde leider stark abgenommen. Und leider muss Mann mittlerweile auch vorbestellen. Wo Mann sonst einfach nur hingehen bräuchte. Deswegen kaum noch Lohnswert wenn es Mal schnell gehen soll. Dazu schmeckt es gut. Wär gerne Mal ein Schnitzel isst, sollt dort wenigstens einmal vorbei schauen.

Ich kannte die Bergklause schon seit Jahrzehnten und wir wurden absolut nicht enttäuscht! Sehr reichliche Portionen in bester Qualität zu echt fairen Preisen. Die Wirtsleute sind sympathisch und das, was man nicht gleich schafft, schmeckt auch am nächsten Tag lecker... Bis zum nächsten Mal

Wir sind mehrfach mit einer größeren Gruppe von Kollegen dort erschienen, jedoch auch mit vorab Reservierung und es war jedes Mal der Hammer. Na klar muss man etwas länger warten, aber dafür bekommt man auch sehr große Portionen und die (freche) Blonde :-) hinterm Tresen hatte auch gute Sprüche drauf und aufmerksame Augen, denn das leere Bier wurde immer schnell aufgefüllt. Ein Besuch lohnt sich auf jedenfall, doch Vorsicht: Reservieren sollte man auf jedenfall.

Sehr uriges und einfaches Kneipenlokal. Wer ein topmodernes Restaurant erwartet ist hier falsch. Man fühlt sich direkt wohl und alle sind locker drauf. Wir haben Schnitzel gegessen und waren mehr als satt und super zufrieden. Wirklich ein Geheimtipp!

Mein bester Freund und ich waren gestern spontan hier essen … was soll man sagen, riesige Portionen zu sehr moderaten Preisen! Geschmacklich war das Essen (Steuerbord-Burger & Jäger Schnitzel) 1A, mit sämtlichen Sternen! Einfach nur zu empfehlen! Die Bedienung und der Koch waren auch sehr nett. Alles in einem, einfach fantastisch u d nur zu empfehlen!

Best Schnitzel in town! Gewaltige Portionen und superlecker!

Sehr zu empfehlen habe noch nie so große Schnitzel gesehen. Portionen sind mega groß schmeckt lecker und das Rest Essen wird eingepackt. Was ich besonders nett fand war die tolle Bedienung und das unser Hund auch noch Stücke Fleisch bekam.

Ich war schon häufiger in der Bergklause zum essen, da das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis Top ist 1+++ bei einer super Qualität. Die Bedienung und auch der (Koch) Chef sind super sympathisch, so das man sich da gut aufgehoben und wohl fühlt. War schon mit vielen Freunden da, die es vorher nicht kannten, jetzt aber auch Stammkunden sind. Bis bald :-)

Die Bergklause ist immer wieder einen Besuch wert! Natürlich ist es kein Schickimicki Laden und auch Vegetarier sind dort falsch. Wenn man aber gerne Fleisch mit Beilagen in großen Portionen zu günstigen Preisen mag, ist man dort goldrichtig. Das einzige Manko ist die relativ lange Wartezeit, aber darauf kann man sich ja einstellen, wenn man es vorher weiß. Die Bedienung ist wirklich super nett.

Reichliche und qualitativ hochwertige Speisen, die stets frisch zubereitet werden. Zusätzlich dazu sind die Bedienungen immer freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Ambiente ist zwar angenehm, war aber vor der Renovierung authentischer und rustikaler. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist einfach spitze!
