Nice atmosphere and very tasty food.

Price-performance ratio is right, I would go there again

I've eaten there twice: once by myself had lasagne, which was very good; the second time as a couple had fish soup and bruschetta. The soup was a disappointment for 13.90. It was a plate, not a cup, but there wasn't much more in terms of quantity. The soup itself was quite salty, just about OK for me; some of the fish pieces were overcooked and dry, one mussel was closed, and the bruschetta was good. My companion's meal, salmon in lobster sauce, was supposed to be good. What struck me was that on both visits, we were only asked afterwards whether it was OK; I also said what I didn't like. Overall, I/we liked the atmosphere; the pizza dishes looked promising and definitely worth a visit; the toilets were OK too.

New team, new opportunity. We ate there for the first time since the change of ownership, and I have to say... well done. Our last few visits were rather mediocre, and we were skeptical about eating there again... but the new owners are doing everything right. Good quality, fair prices. We'll be happy to come back.

We (three people) were there last time before the renovation, and back then, everyone's food was extremely salty. Now, after the renovation, we wanted to give Romano another chance and were sadly disappointed. The food was again completely salty, almost oversalted. They used to serve "free" bruschetta as a small appetizer; now they give you an "egg cup" with a few olives... simply sad. The staff was very friendly, but the food was unfortunately completely forgettable. In the past, and still today, they served pasta dishes.

I returned after years and once again had a very good meal. In addition to the many delicious dishes, the wonderful desserts are especially recommended. I'm already looking forward to my next visit...

The food was phenomenally delicious. The price was good too. The drink prices are outrageous! 5€ for a 0.4l Fanta?! The atmosphere could also be a little more modern. The waiters were nice, but as a restaurant visitor you should take your time.

The new IL Romano is open again after renovations and new management. The old one still had its charm, but now it's a bit more upscale. It was a success. The opening included Prosecco and a contemplative dessert. The starter was Vitello Tonnato, highly recommended. The bread is very fresh and delicious. A classic main course. Pizza Salami and Mista...also a success. All in all, it's great that it's open again in its new guise. Keep up the good work and good luck. We'd be happy to come back. We were there again to check if it's still the same. We chose that time for lunch. Unfortunately, it wasn't so good. The salad was watery, the dressing lukewarm, and the one cocktail tomato and two slices of cucumber didn't help matters. I ordered Scaloppa Bolognese. 18.50 euros. Small, thin schnitzel with tomato sauce. No Bolognese sauce. I discussed the dish and its name with the owner. No insight. Too bad. "That's what it is," was the answer. So, spaghetti Bolognese is with tomato sauce. Thank you and thank you... There are plenty of Italian restaurants nearby.

This used to be a good restaurant, unfortunately that was a long time ago. This is certainly also due to the service staff. The boss only looks at the money. Criticism doesn't work for him at all. He should ask himself why regular guests stay away.

Not exactly cheap, but great food and friendly service!

I had lunch with my family. The pizzas, pasta carbonara, spaghetti alla diavola, tiramisu, and panna cotta were all excellent. The waiter and bartender who served us were very professional and kind. I'll definitely be back.

When I'm in Berlin, this is my Italian restaurant. It's under new ownership now, but nothing else has changed.

The food is delicious, and the selection isn't too extensive or too limited. Upscale cuisine with reasonable prices. The service is warm and friendly. Occasionally, there's live music evenings; I'd love to see more of that, just by the way 😉 All in all, an authentic Italian restaurant! I always enjoy going there 🤗

A superb restaurant; it was our family favorite over 30 years ago, and for good reason. It was always delicious, and the service was simply excellent. It's very family-friendly, and the staff are extremely friendly. Even when my little sister played with the waiter (and her tray full of glasses), there wasn't a single harsh word. And the visits with my father at the beginning of the month, where I was allowed to eat 5-10 scoops of vanilla ice cream each time (much to the amazement of the waiters), remain a great memory. About two years ago, I visited here again after about 20 years (after I moved to the south of the city). Surprisingly, and to my delight, nothing had changed. Same ambiance, same menu, and even the waiters were the same, after 20 years – fantastic. Unfortunately, a new owner has now taken over the restaurant, which is a shame, but it was probably time. We've been there once since then. The ambiance has changed somewhat, the menu is similar or even the same, and at least some of the staff have stayed. The food is still delicious. All in all, it's definitely still worth a visit or two.

After so many years, we were so happy to be able to dine there again, as we had been regulars for years, living around the corner. I have to say, now I know what I've always been missing: that warm and friendly service, simply wonderful. The food is absolutely delicious, and there's absolutely nothing to complain about. New service! The pizza is huge, from the stone oven, with a very crispy crust. Not overly loaded, so nothing is soggy in the middle. Very friendly service. Definitely highly recommended.

We were very satisfied; the service was very friendly and attentive. We had bruschetta as a starter, which was very tasty. My wife chose involtini, and I had a rump steak with Gorgonzola sauce. We enjoyed both very much. Good value for money. We felt very comfortable and can recommend the restaurant.

Our favorite Italian restaurant for over 20 years...always friendly service...delicious, and good value for money. The lunch menu features 5 dishes for €7.50, which is highly recommended. Now, in 2025, a lot has changed. The service and food are still highly recommended, but unfortunately, the characteristic ambiance is no longer present. Now it looks like any other modern restaurant. The smooth walls, smooth floor, and the absence of arches and niches make the acoustics poor. It's difficult to have a conversation when there are many guests. - What a shame. Our nostalgic trip to Waidmannslust is probably over for good.

Today, May 24, 2025, I was here with my family for the second time. The owner changed in February, and I immediately recognized him from another restaurant. The look is new, the service is great, and I think the food is really delicious. The pizzas are perfect, I think. My favorite salad with feta cheese puts you in a good mood, and today I tried the Argentinian steak with pasta: awesome! The five of us enjoyed it; we all had different dishes and different drinks. You could also see from the other guests that they felt at home there. I've found my favorite 🇮🇹 🙂 B. König, 56

The food was very good and tasty. The service was attentive and very friendly.

The restaurant itself smelled like a toilet. Thankfully, we were able to sit outside, although it was very hot under the gazebo. The service was friendly, and the appetizers were good. The salad was very fresh and crispy. Unfortunately, the pizza had burnt edges and wasn't anything special that you couldn't bake yourself at home. It was okay, but these days, when everything is so expensive anyway, they should make more of an effort. I also don't like the fact that they only serve alcohol and espresso as aperitifs. They should also offer juice to guests who don't like alcohol or coffee. Well, I won't go there again, but everyone can decide for themselves, and I think my money is too precious for that.

Under obviously new management with a new menu, solidly delicious food (starters, pizza and pasta tried), modernized inside, with overall outstandingly attentive, flexible (we found space for 2 even without a reservation) and friendly service. Definitely worth a visit again.

New owner, new facility. Lasagna was reduced by half at the same price. It doesn't help if it's a portion for one person. At least this was shared with a small child (note on comment), not with another person. Bruschetta was also removed in advance. When you can't even get enough for over €30...

It was our first visit and it certainly wouldn't be our last. Warm hosts, friendly service and delicious food. Whether it was bruschetta, mixed salad (very fresh) or the tuna and linguini from the recommendation menu, everything was very tasty. Luckily there was still room for dessert, the homemade tiramisu, a dream. (and without alcohol 👍). We will try the pizza on our next visit, we are already looking forward to it.

I have been a regular customer at this restaurant for more than 20 years. When the restaurant came into new hands at the end of 2024, I was initially suspicious as to whether I would continue to feel comfortable here. From then on it exceeded my expectations. Very gracious and friendly service. The food so far has been excellent. The entire restaurant has also received a new feel-good moment thanks to the beautiful renovation. All I can say is that I'm happy to have got my "living room" back. If this continues now, one can only say that Wittenau has gained a new and really great restaurant. My path will continue to lead there in the future.

We have been regulars for years and when it was announced there was a new owner we wanted to try it on Valentine's Day and it remained just as good, if not better!! Great lasagna, incredible bolognese and incredibly delicious tiramisu! Unfortunately there is no free bruschetta anymore, but there are olives. Otherwise everything was great, the staff were incredibly nice and the food was great! It was also extremely full, so you might want to make a reservation in advance, of course it could also be on Valentine's Day. Still absolutely recommended!

We went there for lunch spontaneously about 5 weeks ago. There was a lunch menu. The prices were very reasonable and the portions were completely sufficient for a lunch meal. As an extra (on the house) there was bruschetta (1 piece) and an espresso after the meal. The landlord is very friendly and it really tasted very good. We will definitely visit this restaurant again.

Was there again for a long time. We chose the pork fillet with salad from the daily menu. It was all very tasty. We'll definitely come back soon.

Absolutely recommended! We celebrated my mother's big birthday in the cozy Romano with around 20 people. As always, the food and service was perfect. I find the good organization of the entire team remarkable, as another birthday party was taking place at the same time and the restaurant was generally well attended. I eat spaghetti carbonara in every pizzeria I don't know. Same today... overcooked mushy pasta, unseasoned and some thin milk sauce floating in the plate, horrible. The store is big and loud. The smallest of the waiters is extremely unfriendly, spits your plates and drinks on the table, pulls a face, no thanks, never again. 62 euros too much for this Saturday.

Super nice waiters and good food. Unfortunately, there was a hair in my food and there was no apology from the waiter or any other accommodation. I'm really not fastidious, but the fact that there is no apology in such a situation is just a huge no go for a restaurant like this. We always liked going to the nice Italian restaurant next door but never again!

As always, the service was friendly and quick. The calzone was well seasoned and nice and hot. The scampi pizza is also very tasty. Unfortunately, when we asked for something spicy, there was chili, but it wasn't spicy. Please buy hot chili or Tabasco i Thank you and see you next time. 😁

I was there today and wanted to eat something with my husband. The restaurant wasn't that full but the service was probably a bit overwhelmed. We weren't even greeted and were given a menu after 7 minutes. Our table wasn't covered even though we were there before the other guests, the table that came after us would be covered straight away. We then got up straight away. I was a regular customer there years ago, what happened there? So not recommended, sorry, that doesn't work at all. Actually 0 stars

There weren't many of us in the restaurant, it was a Sunday evening. We arrived at the end of evening service. And we appreciated the very warm welcome and the efficient service. The quality of the dishes is excellent. I'm italian. It was just the two of us and we were queens. Nice Italian restaurant near S Waidmannslust. We were there when there was a larger wedding inside. The music took some getting used to and it was louder than usual. And the food took a long time, but that was communicated upon arrival, so it was fine. The service was very friendly so far, especially considering that they had a lot to do. My pizza calzone was great, it deserves 5 stars!
