Wir waren vielleicht die ersten Tagesgäste. Nachdem wir aber ca.10 min. nicht wahrgenommenen wurden haben wir das Lokal wieder verlassen. Gäste scheinen nicht wichtig zu sein ... schade ...

Sehr geehrtes Rödiger-Team, wir möchten großes Lob für Ihre vielseitige Speisekarte aussprechen! Mal nicht nur Curry-Wurst oder Pommes, sondern auch mal Lachs auf Rösti oder für Diabetiker das Powerbrot. Bitte weiter so mit dieser guten Qualität und hervorragendem Geschmack.

Sehr zu empfehlen, sehr freundlicher Service und sehr gutes Essen:-))

Vor oder nach dem Besuch der Therme sehr zu empfehlen dort etwas zu essen. Es ist zwar etwas teuer, aber wenn man schon mal da ist, kann man sich das gönnen. Das Essen und Trinken ist sehr lecker.

Man fühlt sich nicht wie in einem Thermen-Bistro. Angenehme Einrichtung, freundlicher Service und gutes Essen.

Ich war heute, zusammen mit meinem Freund, in diesem Bistro essen und möchte meine Erfahrung teilen. Das Essen war wirklich sehr gut – geschmacklich überzeugend und schön angerichtet. Auch die Auswahl auf der Karte hat mir gefallen, sodass ich das Bistro an sich definitiv weiterempfehlen kann. Leider gab es bei der Bedienung einen Punkt, der mir negativ aufgefallen ist. Der Service war zwar grundsätzlich freundlich, allerdings habe ich bemerkt, dass der männlicher Mitarbeiter ein Tattoo auf seinem linken Unterarm mit der Aufschrift „1312“ hatte. Außerdem befanden sich auf seinem Bestellgerät die Zahlen „1312“. Mir ist diese Symbolik natürlich besonders aufgefallen und ich empfand das in einem gastronomischen Umfeld als etwas unprofessionell beziehungsweise unpassend. Mir ist bewusst, dass jeder seine persönlichen Ansichten haben darf. Dennoch finde ich, dass solche Botschaften im direkten Gästekontakt – besonders sichtbar – nicht unbedingt zu einem neutralen und angenehmen Ambiente beitragen.

Kuchen lecker und der Café geht für den Preis garnicht. Filterkaffee für 4,10€

Hier gibt es den besten Kuchen den wir je gegessen haben.

Für die Therme super. Sterneküche ist hier nicht zur erwarten, aber alles was wir bestellt haben hat gut geschmeckt. Preis Leistung ist auch ok. Der Service war sehr nett.

Essen als auch Service war hervorragend schon lange nicht mehr so einen zuvorkommenden Service erlebt. Werde dieses Lokal auf jeden Fall öfter besuchen kommen.

Hatten gestern unseren 2. Hochzeitstag und im Bistro am Meer ein Candlelight Diner. Es war das absolute i-tüpfelchen für diesen Tag. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Das Essen unglaublich lecker und wunderschön angerichtet. Es war der perfekte Abend für diesen Tag. Danke noch an alle ( Küche,Bedienung usw.)

Es war sehr gemütlich am Kamin, indem das Feuer gebrannt hat. Das Essen war sehr lecker und kam auch sehr schnell. Die Bedienung war freundlich.

Ich komme immer gerne in der Mittagspause vorbei.

Absolut überteuert für Essen untern Durchschnitt. Der Kaffee hat auch einfach nach nichts geschmeckt.

WANN KÄSESPÄTZLE UND BACK-CAMEMBERT WIEDER AUF DER KARTE???

The prices are a joke! €7.50 for a cheese sandwich is ridiculous! The menu listed it as a wood-fired bread with Gouda and strips of bell pepper, which made me assume it was meant to be a hot dish. The waiters were very friendly, though.

We were very disappointed with the food and the service.

The staff is friendly and accommodating. However, the quality of the food was inadequate. The price-performance ratio doesn't seem appropriate. While the plates were hot, the food was cold and had a soft, unappetizing texture. The fish, for example, was almost raw.

Nice selection of dishes, reasonable prices. Friendly service, and you don't have to wait long for your food.

The waitress in the restaurant took our order incorrectly. We said it in both English and German. Then we told another waitress that it was incorrect. She didn't respond at all, just looked at us as if she hadn't heard anything. Then we told another waitress. The waitress just looked at us confusedly again and gestured "it doesn't matter" or "forget it" – but that was very rude, without even looking at us. We were very confused. Such rude behavior. How is a tourist supposed to enjoy their stay here? You can't communicate properly in either English or German.

I asked for a beer and it arrived warm, I took the piece with the fries and they arrived cold, it's disgusting, the table is not properly set, you have to ask for salt and pepper, a disorganization

Well, you can't go wrong with bratwurst with sauerkraut. The three bratwursts were okay, but the sauerkraut was unfortunately overly acidic, and the three small slices of bread were quite dry. I'll definitely skip that next time!👎👎👎

Not a recommendation. We had the chicken burger and the currywurst. The burger was simply a chicken schnitzel, drenched in mustard and buried under onions. Despite being so hungry, the taste was unbearable after half the meal. The currywurst was okay, but not exactly amazing. The fries were great. The value for money isn't great at all. I'd pay €18 for a burger at a burger joint, but not at a bistro. At least we can definitely advise against the burger and currywurst.

We had goulash soup (starter), schnitzel with fries, schnitzel with fried potatoes, and rice with chicken in a cream sauce. The prices would have been okay if it had been tasty. The farmer's bread... tasted like it came from a box and was dry, the fried potatoes were soaked in grease, the fries were sloppy, and the cream sauce was more like a doner kebab. The goulash soup and the food arrived almost at the same time, which isn't very practical, but at least the food was prepared quickly, which was the only positive thing, including the young, friendly waitresses. On top of all that, they asked when paying if it was okay or if you wanted the change back. Extremely unprofessional. PS: Don't be tempted by the iced tea offer... €4.80 for a 0.33l glass bottle!

Last week we went to the spa for my husband's birthday and then had dinner in the bistro - we had the vegetarian burger with grilled vegetables and feta - unfortunately there were only two tiny cubes of feta on it, which is really a shame for this price - especially since you shouldn't declare the burger to have feta - but at least it tasted good. My dish was much more questionable: Wild garlic bread dumplings with tomato sugo. Never eaten anything worse - with a lot of imagination you could taste the wild garlic and they were super tasteless and soft when cooked. The tomato sugo consisted of chopped canned tomatoes and a few fresh cocktail tomatoes. It was really very disappointing. I wanted to tell the staff how we found the food, but no one came to ask if everything was ok. All in all, it's a shame. Especially for the price.

We are in Bad Staffelstein once a year and go here often. The lunch is very tasty, the cakes and tarts also taste very good. The waitresses are very friendly and we really like the atmosphere. Please keep it up...we love coming back every year.

The food arrived quickly but at least the spagetti Bolognese didn't taste like anything

We had fried fish with potato salad and a baked camembert. Very disappointing. Unfortunately totally unabridged and boring. Potato salad was far too cold and unfortunately didn't taste good. The fish was frozen like it was from the supermarket. Same for the Camenbert. Unfortunately not worth the price. The staff was competent and nice, the atmosphere was pleasant, but unfortunately the food was disappointing. Next time it's better to pack a snack.

The soup of the day: broccoli soup was very tasty, but the prices are generally too expensive for a restaurant in the thermal baths. The staff was super friendly, you felt welcome.

Even if the gentlemen here think they are taking legal action against my review and accusing me of defamation, that is what I have experienced here and that's it! Our visit wasn't the real Jakob - unfortunately the food wasn't particularly great. The currywurst with fries for €13.90 (01/2025) was rather bland in taste and the fries could easily have been fried for two minutes longer. The baked Camembert wasn't in the oven long enough. The food still came quickly. The service was friendly but unfortunately not well organized. The waitress came to the table twice for a re-ordered ketchup packet: once to collect the money and then minutes later to bring it, by which time the fries had unfortunately already cooled down. I also don't think the prices are appropriate for a thermal bistro in relation to the service and unfortunately I can't explain the many good reviews.

Versatile menu. The food (goulash soup, currywurst, salad buffet, expresso) and the service are good. Very friendly young waitresses. Procurement of the delicious salad buffet causes problems. The salad buffet must be paid for separately at the checkout. No card payment at the checkout as it is less than €10. There is no change for the €50 note. The many small hurdles cost time for the guest and the service staff. It would be easier to order the salad buffet with the other dishes and then deliver the appropriate plate for self-service at the buffet.

The two of us had lunch and had calamari and currywurst. The food was so-so - of course you can't expect a gourmet level at a thermal bistro. The currywurst itself was okay, but the sauce was a bit too tomatoey for my taste. Fries and sausage are otherwise ok - but you can't go wrong with a currywurst either. Unfortunately the calamari was a disappointment. I think they were put out of the deep fryer on the plate rather carelessly, with a tasteless yoghurt dip. Unfortunately, I found it too expensive, both dishes 13-14€ each. The service was good, we were asked twice after ordering whether we had already ordered, but it's good to be served in a thermal spa anyway, many of them only offer self-service. Ambience was also quite chic and clean.

The food wasn't bad, but nothing special either. I found the prices a bit too high.

The day before yesterday there was an action court, among other things: Chili con carne, which I unfortunately ordered. It was served warm at most, with the highlight of a large, solid blob of cream in the middle. The chili was draped around the outside. There was no hint of spiciness to be tasted, it wasn't even spicy. I could teach them much better. That was a gastronomic revelation.

I ordered a coffee at Rödiger's Bistro, which I personally didn't like at all. It was far too watery for me and had hardly any taste. At the exit I wanted to order two 0.5L bottles of Cola Zero to take away. Including the deposit it would have cost €9.80. Personally, I just find the price outrageous. I get almost a whole case of Coke for that. The bistro probably has bad reviews deleted to make it look better. This review is constantly being deleted on the grounds of "defamation" even though it is simply MY OWN OPINION. Kind regards and have fun deleting it again.

Pleasant atmosphere, good selection of food and drinks, friendly service.

The food was terrible. There are two vegan dishes on the menu that we ordered. The one with rice was way too salty, spicy and apparently had too much curry paste on it, and it didn't taste good at all. The pasta one was drowned in oil and just as salty. We only ate it out of greed because it was extremely expensive for what it was.

We had to wait until a waitress came to us, so we left before then

Service very stressed, solely responsible for the entire interior area. Forgot to take our order. I'm sorry for your working conditions. Food came after 45 minutes. Had the crispy chicken burger with fries. Fries inedible, old fat and almost cold. Burger okay but soaked in fat. Unfortunately, due to cost-cutting measures, there no longer seems to be any qualified personnel at work. Price performance is by no means justified! Was my last visit here.

So I can't understand all the bad reviews. I go to the bathroom regularly and then a visit here is part of it. I can't say anything negative about the food either. I've eaten a lot of different dishes in the past and I've enjoyed everything so far. Unfortunately, everything has become much more expensive in the past, but that's the case everywhere. I don't think I need to explain who is responsible for it.

We have now been absolutely convinced of each other in two days. Everything is just right here, the food is delicious, the price is fair and the service staff is super friendly and customer-oriented. Chapeau...honest 5 stars deserved.

The currywurst is really delicious. I haven't eaten something this good in a long time. I don't understand the negative reviews about the currywurst here.

It's gotten so expensive. No longer has any relationship. We always like to go there, but not anymore.

How much can this chicken burger cost with a small portion of fries, a small Pepsi-Cola and a beer? 18€? That would be 5 points! 20€? That would still be 4 points! but 26.10 euros? For comparison, I posted the McDonald's Mc Crispy Chicken Burger, which is quite equivalent. It's only available for self-service in the McDonalds restaurant, but is that still appropriate when it costs about three times as much here in the thermal restaurant? I find the prices in this restaurant to be excessive. Since this has apparently been going on for a long time, as can be seen from the terrible rating (3.4) for a restaurant, the city of Staffelstein and the district should slowly take action and, for example, re-tender the lease.

I've eaten a lot of curry sausages, very good and not so good. But the currywurst I got from you, no thanks. The currywurst had no consistency, was so soft and spongy that you could hardly cut it. Not to mention the taste. The sauce that came with it had nothing to do with curry sauce, but rather with tomato puree. And the hint of curry powder on the currywurst didn't make anything better. So if you like your currywurst, you've probably never had one anywhere else. And then to collect 13.50 euros for something like that, I don't know. It's in the thermal baths, but the price would only be justified if the currywurst had been top notch.

HAIR in food already twice Last time there was just a long hair in the burger AND THE PROUD PRICE of almost €20 without fries and mayo or ketchup for an extra €1 I think you can be a little careful. Update 2024 After 2 years, cashless payment is still not possible. So the bad rating remains... Food is ok so far. But what's not possible is that only cash payment is accepted! We had to scrape together the last euros to be able to pay our bill. Bad Staffelstein is also not well blessed with ATMs, so if you are not a Sparkasse customer you can only withdraw money for a fee. Guys, this is a no-go! Value-added card is not a solution either! At the Hotel Rödiger I can even pay by credit card. I can imagine that due to the customer base there, you cannot escape the fees for cashless payments. Because that's what it's all about and the customers have to pay for it. What a shame!

We had reserved a table for the grill BBQ for €35 per person. Unfortunately, the buffet was very disappointing. There were only simple rolls and dry bread, no different types of baguette. The grilled cheese was like rubber, the steaks were very mixed, the turkey steaks were dry Small bratwursts were ok. Overall, the warm dishes were only lukewarm to cold. Unfortunately, no fish either. Various mushroom dishes were available as described in the offer. Unfortunately, the salads weren't any better either. 2x pasta salad with the same pasta, just different dressings, cucumber salad There was also coleslaw and red cabbage salad to choose from. The price-performance ratio just wasn't right. It's a shame!

We had the Goldrausch menu with a visit to the thermal baths - very tasty...great menu, whether it was salad, meat or fish. Very nice staff.

I was able to “enjoy” a sweet chili chicken burger for an absolutely cheeky 17.30 euros. Burger roll, a piece of chicken, 2 small lettuce leaves, tomato, jalapenos and a pinch of sauce from the supermarket. Not even fries at that price. Never again!

Rarely experienced such hospitality! From reception to departure we felt completely at home. The rooms were beautiful, and breakfast in the winter garden was a highlight that we didn't want to miss.

January 2024: Currywurst 15.40 euros more cannot be said

Extremely cold in winter. It says barefoot restaurant on it, but that doesn't really fit with the 10 degree warm tiles. We also had to wait quite a long time, even though there was little going on. You also pay in advance, I don't think they would get a tip anyway. The food was fast food level. Still better than McDonald's, except you don't go there in swimming trunks.

Super delicious food. Large portions and really home-style cooking. I have rarely eaten so well. The staff was friendly and helpful. Without being asked, the dog was given his water and a treat as a farewell. We will come again when we are nearby!

We ate here after visiting the thermal spa. My salad was really excellent, extra requests were taken into account and great dressing. Spaghetti Bolognese, breaded schnitzel and penne with tuna were also very tasty. Thank you very much, we were very positively surprised and the service was also courteous, quick and nice. Great value for money!

Rödiger's Bistro is simply great! The prices are absolutely reasonable and the food is fantastic. The portions are large and the service is quick and friendly. The self-service salad buffet is a particular highlight - so many fresh and delicious options! And for dessert there is an incredible selection of homemade cakes and tarts. We will be back definitely!

The food was actually always good, but we noticed that the service had steadily declined. Today, December 9, 2023 at 1:15 p.m. we left without ordering, 2 other guests, so nothing going on, 4 service staff behind the counter, totally chilled out, no desire to come and place an order. That's why we went again. This place isn't the only place to eat. We will avoid it in the future.
