Rocoto in Berlin

If you're craving modern Peruvian cuisine, this is the place for you. The portions are a bit small for the price, but the presentation is visually appealing and the perfect place for a special evening.

The food was truly excellent. The ceviche portion was—unfortunately rare—fairly large and tasted excellent. I can also highly recommend the octopus; every component was perfectly balanced – food that makes you happy!

The food was perfectly fine. The service could’ve been better - we were left waiting a lot longer than preferred. All in all a perfectly mediocre restaurant, not worth more or less than the price.

The food was excellent, and the staff friendly. Our table wasn't the best (wobbly) and the area right outside isn't the prettiest in Berlin, but the food makes up for it.

The meals were delicious, with many dishes having rich flavors and the tastes harmonizing comfortably with each other.

First of all, I can only say that the Peruvian food here is so delicious that you will be blown away. The ambiance is also really cozy, whether inside or outside. The restaurant has a beautifully converted basement compartment, which is by no means a negative; in fact, it really adds to the cozy atmosphere. Sitting outside means you are on the street... that has its advantages and disadvantages. However, the street is hardly used, so you always have enough peace and quiet to chat. Now for the clear highlight: the food. As already described above, there is a clear selection of all kinds of different Peruvian dishes. All of the dishes were so beautifully and deliciously presented. The only drawback, which is also a matter of taste, is that they use quite a lot of coriander! However, if you like coriander, you will really enjoy this place. Absolutely recommend it!

Unglaublich lecker, sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, sehr freundlich... und mal etwas ganz anderes. Wer etwas besonderes sucht, ist hier genau richtig. In diesem peruanischen Restaurant gibt es wunderschön angerichtetes, sehr leckeres Essen, eine sehr gemütliche und angenehme Atmosphäre und einen Pisco..... Hmmmmmmmmmm Kann ich definitiv weiterempfehlen.

Spectacular food. Had a trio of starters (ceviche, pulpo and calamares) and the crispy pork belly. Everything was really tasty and beautifully plated. Drinks were great as well. Obviously pricey, but well worth it.

I was there a month ago, thinking it would be the best Peruvian food experience in Berlin. Unfortunately, I got seafood rice (horrible). It was flavorless... it was like they mixed the rice with seafood two minutes before serving it. 0.0 on the Richards scale! Stay away, guys!

The best you can find in Berlin and the surrounding area when it comes to good Peruvian food. Very good service and attention. I can recommend the ceviche and causa, they are simply incredibly delicious. I come here very often and here is a photo of the Anticucho!

The food was insanely good. Every bite was an absolute explosion of flavour. I never wanted the ceviche trio to end.

You get a great dining experience here. The staff is super friendly and the food is great. This was our second time here and so far every dish has been delicious. The empanadas are definitely recommended and the octopus was tender as butter. PS: It's great to sit outside in summer.

Unfortunately, the woman on the phone is completely unsympathetic and her tone isn't exactly customer-friendly. Phone call at 8:00 p.m. on April 26, 2025. It's always the same person, which is a shame because the food is delicious.

I never tried Peruvian food before - but let me tell you something: It was amazing. Zero comments apart from thank you to the chef. Cozy place, a bit loud inside, but worth it. I will definitely go back to try some of the things I did not try because im sure they will be amazing.

This was really tasty food, enjoyed all of it, but especially the Tuna Ceviche and the great drinks. This is a must!

We had a great evening at Rocoto. The quality and presentation of the dishes was great and the service professional.

Unfortunately only three stars, although we enjoyed the food very much. The dishes are really very good and tasty; Unfortunately, the sweet potato puree was only lukewarm. But okay. The ambience is dispassionate, neither positive nor negative. However, the noise level is sometimes very high. The service spoiled our evening somewhat, although it was friendly but very disorganized. The order was taken after 15 minutes, the wine ordered after another 20 minutes. When clearing up, let alone in the meantime, no one asked if everything was okay. No dessert menu was offered. And when paying, some guests got a digestif on the house, some, like us, didn't.

A cozy restaurant, very well seasoned dishes with a beautiful presentation. What happiness! A pleasure for the senses :) The only downside is that it is better to speak Spanish to order (at least when I was there).

Quite nice, but with weaknesses The restaurant has some positive aspects that are definitely worth mentioning. The **friendly service** deserves special mention: The waiters are attentive, polite, and mostly speak German – which, unfortunately, isn't a given everywhere. The ambiance is also charming and quaint. The cellar, with its polished bricks, creates a cozy atmosphere, even if it quickly gets cold when the door is open. One downside, however, are the **extremely narrow restrooms**, which unfortunately offer little comfort – but there's probably nothing that can be done about that. ### Culinary Experience The food is solid in terms of taste, but ranges between **high standard and average**. The starter, a three-course combo, was visually and tastefully appealing, but the price of **€28 for three small bowls** is simply excessive. The main course tasted okay, but again, the **value for money** wasn't right. The desserts looked fantastic, but were disappointing in terms of taste. They looked like products from a frozen food delivery service, lacking any particular refinement or freshness – a shame, because they could have rounded off the evening. ### Conclusion The restaurant offers a pleasant ambiance and friendly service, but the value for money leaves much to be desired. While some dishes are delicious, the prices are simply too high for the quality and quantity offered. For me personally, the price-performance ratio is **not right**.

The best Peruvian restaurant in Berlin! We ordered the lomo saltado and the pulpo, and both were delicious. The classic ceviche was amazing, and the crema volteada for dessert was incredible as well. We’ll be back!

Very chill music, food was fresh and a good variety from fish to meat. We loved the pulpo al olivo, and the pisco sour is delicious!

In 2019, I spent the entire summer in Peru, exploring its beautiful landscapes and indulging in some of the best food I’ve ever had. Since, I have been craving those flavours, but hadn’t found a restaurant outside of Peru that could truly replicate the authenticity of the dishes I experienced there…. Until we visited Rocoto. Not only can you expect delicious cocktails, fresh ingredients and overall quality dishes, but the service is also excellent. The only downside is that this place is quite intimate (aka small), so if you’re thinking of popping by, most nights you have to reserve well in advance. The pork belly dish reminded me of a hometown dish, especially the use of hoisin sauce and the way the leafy vegetables were cooked, and I thought there was a bit of oyster sauce as well. It gave me a new perspective on how familiar flavors can be transformed ❄️

At first I only wanted to give 4 stars, but then my main course came: Lomo Saltado 😍 The restaurant is not cheap. The portions are not huge. Accordingly, it's only worth it if you either have too much money anyway or you have a Peruvian friend who really wants to go there... In any case, I really liked it and I'm sure I'll have a really nice evening with her 😉 P.S. There is even a glossary in the menu for those who don't have a Peruvian girlfriend :)

A gem hidden in the districts of Berlin. Tasty dishes straight from Peru. Perfect, intimate atmosphere. I have been missing such flavors for years. I am convinced that quality can be found not only in the main menu but also in beer, wine and desserts. Great service.

As a Peruvian you are always a little more critical because you have already eaten in a lot of Peruvian restaurants and know Peruvian cuisine. However, the food was incredibly delicious. The Aji Amarillo risotto was cooked to perfection. The meat was tender. The ceviche was one of the best I have eaten in Germany so far. Very friendly and warm-hearted staff. The cocktails were very tasty and requests were also catered for. I can recommend the restaurant for both Peruvians and Germans. I will definitely come back.

You really surprised me in a positive way! The signature dishes were incredibly tasty, and the service was outstanding.

Small but nice - be sure to reserve a table! The food is amazing! Whether fish, meat or vegetarian (hardly any choice!) - everything is freshly prepared and cooked to perfection. The pisco drinks are perfect! Not exactly cheap and portion sizes are manageable. Toilets very small. Guest room very loud. Unfortunately closed Sun and Mon and only open from 5 p.m. Only those who like fish/seafood have a large selection here! A must: the Andean corn and ceviche! That's the only reason I'll treat myself to it again!

The scallop ceviche took me back to my days in south america on my backpacking trip with that wonderful girl I ended up marrying. I had my ratatouille moment. That's what food can do to you. I am so thankful 🙏

Real Peruvian restaurant super tasty and descente

Infantile völlig überforderte Bedienungen, zunächst hatten sie unser Hauptgericht vergessen und dann warteten wir noch 45 Minuten darauf. Einer der Kellner sprach weder deutsch noch englisch. Der Gipfel war, dass wir insgesamt dreimal aufgefordert wurden den Tisch zu wechseln um ihn für andere Gäste frei zu machen. Das Essen war gut, aber viel zu teuer. FAZIT: Dieses Lokal ist völlig überbewertet und nicht empfehlenswert.

Their ceviche was great. We tried 3 different ones and they were all very good. We had 3 different main courses (fish, octopus and beef) and they all tasted very good, all cooked nicely. We tried 2 desserts and they tasted incredibly good. We drank 3 different types of pisco and they were all good. The price is a bit high but the taste of what you eat is worth it.
