Went for dinner and the food was great as always.

The place was dirty, especially the seat cushions. My coffee cup still had traces of the previous occupant. Of the nine cakes on offer, four were unavailable, and this was in the early afternoon. The staff weren't very attentive. Cashless payment wasn't possible either. Instead of reporting my review to Google as defamation, I would address the reported issues and view the negative reviews as suggestions for improvement.

Top service, delicious food, nice ambience

Very, very tasty food. The prices are extremely fair, especially the large portions. The staff is also fantastic. It looks pretty good, too. Very good restaurant.

Super nice guys who, among other things, serve quite casually in shorts and flip-flops. Unfortunately, the food doesn't have much to do with Italian cuisine. It's a matter of taste, but we didn't like the pizza and pasta. A 4.7 is definitely extremely overrated here.

Unfortunately, the ice cream is very bad. The price would be okay if you could get a decent sundae. The tubs are small, and the ice cream probably comes from the supermarket next door. The sauces taste incredibly artificial. Never again.

The food was okay, but I lost one star because the steak was swimming in fat. It's annoying that card payments aren't possible. They don't even tell you about it, and the description says they accept card payments.

Simply wow! At Riva del Mare, you feel like you're on a mini-vacation on the Italian coast – only without the stress of packing your suitcase. The service is so warm, you almost feel like you're part of the family. The food? A poem! The pizza is as crispy as the first bite of a vacation day, the pasta so fresh you'd think it was kneaded right in Grandma's kitchen. The ambiance is cozy and modern at the same time; you can almost hear the waves crashing... or was that the friendly waiter who refilled my glass of wine? 😉 Conclusion: If you don't go here, you're missing out. I'll definitely be back – and bring an appetite! 🍝🍷🍕

Best fish dishes at the harbor by far

We made this restaurant our regular during our vacation. It has a very good chef, and the dishes were all delicious, from pasta to steak, pizza, and fish. The ambiance is very nice and the staff very friendly. We would happily recommend this restaurant.

Riva del Mare impresses with authentic Italian cuisine, fresh ingredients, and a Mediterranean atmosphere right on the water. The homemade pasta was perfectly cooked al dente, the pizza crispy and generously topped – the service was warm and attentive without being intrusive. The stylish ambiance with a view of the water also makes the visit a mini-vacation in Italy.

We haven't had such a bad meal in a long time. The food had no seasoning, and the fish was swimming in fat, as if it had been deep-fried.

Excellent food. On my two visits, I tried calamari first, and on the second visit, tagliatelle with salmon and shrimp. Both times, I received my food quickly and it tasted excellent. The view of the harbor and the attentive staff made my vacation evenings a relaxing one.

Unfortunately, the food had absolutely nothing to do with Italian cuisine. The pizza was soggy and tasteless, the lasagna was burnt in the aluminum dish and barely recognizable as lasagna under a sloppy mess of sauce. I've rarely had such a bad meal.

The pizzas were very large and tasted good. The server was very friendly and polite. I highly recommend it.

The four of us had ordered an antipasti platter for two beforehand, which was excellent. We then had the homemade cannelloni, the fish platter, and the chicken steak. All the dishes were delicious.

We came here spontaneously on a weekend and easily got a table for our larger group. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the food was very tasty. Most of us had fish dishes, all of which were good. Would love to come back.

I highly recommend this place. The service is absolutely warm and you immediately feel welcome 🥰 Achmed and Delhi are so hospitable, many people can learn a lesson here. The food is uniquely good, really well prepared and lovingly presented. Guys keep it up...you are the best❤️

My absolute new favorite meal is the homemade No. 42! Everything about these noodles is just perfect. The dish is beautifully prepared and also meets the taste requirements. If I wasn't just here for vacation, I would order it again immediately. :)

Very nice restaurant with a large, cozy outdoor area. The food is very good and the prices are reasonable. The service is very friendly and attentive. We always enjoy coming here.

Went to the restaurant in the evening. As a starter, pizza bread with garlic cream. At first a little skeptical because of €8.50 but absolutely worth the price. A plate-sized pizza bread, beautifully seasoned. Price absolutely justified. The pizza is wafer-thin with a crispy edge, great. 2 x pasta, the spaghetti with perhaps too much oil, but a matter of taste, otherwise really delicious. The tortellini was great. The service good. A clear recommendation.

Waiting time until someone came to take the order was 20 minutes, at coffee time there was only one cake left to choose from, the coffee I ordered wasn't brought, unfriendly,

Good service and good tasty food. Even though it was a little later, we were allowed to stay and eat something. Thank you. The next evening we were there again, earlier this time and then we really feasted.

This Italian restaurant is worth a visit. It is located directly at the harbor area on the Schlei. You can enjoy relaxing indoors and outdoors. The menu offers a wide range. The service staff is attentive and friendly.

I only went here for ice cream and wouldn't come back. Although the ice cream was delicious, I found the price just too high. The ambience is nice because you have a view of the water. Unfortunately, card payments are not possible here, which would be ok if there was at least a notice.

Unfortunately not good cuisine. The cake offering is a disaster and the coffee tastes incredibly bad. No, the restaurant is not worth recommending.

Great "Italian" with seating in the restaurant and outdoor dining and very good cuisine. Tables and chairs were clean, the staff were very courteous and quick without being intrusive. The well-stocked menu makes choosing difficult. We chose meat and pasta dishes - delicious. The portions are generous and the prices are quite affordable. A recommendation!!! Addition: When I read some of the “bad” reviews here, I can only shake my head. The reviews are incomprehensible!

Were holiday guests in Olpenitz and went to Kappeln for dinner. We were very impressed with the restaurant. The food was very good and plentiful and made with love. The eyes could eat well, as could the mouth. The service was excellent, friendly, courteous and quick. The ambience was very nice even outside.

We weren't happy with the ice cream sundaes because we assumed we had made our own ice cream. Carelessly decorated ice cream sundaes and sprayed cream.

Improves the text about Restaurant Here the food is served on broken plates and the pizza was just oily. The evil overasyhzbh comb when paying, only cash was accepted. There was no mention of cash payment anywhere.

Service was okay. The beepers that cellars have in their pockets to hear when the next food has to come out are annoying. Otherwise they were quick, nice and friendly. The pizza my husband had wasn't that tasty. Underbaked and poorly seasoned. That's what you expect from an Italian. My penne gorgonzola with spinach was very tasty. Maybe we'll try it again sometime.

Food is ok, but it's probably - now it's getting flat - a matter of taste. ;-) Unfortunately only cash payment is possible, invoice/receipt only upon request! That's where you start to think about it...

The only good thing is the location. The quality of the food was very poor, the service was terrible and when we had to pay in cash without any prior notice because card payment is generally not possible, we were served. Not recommended!!!

You can sit well here in a pleasant atmosphere, right by the harbor. Unfortunately, the actual purpose of such a location is not fulfilled here. Basically there is a lack of any kind of gastronomic training. Hitting dishes and reaching all over the table is the smallest problem. If you like good food and want to be served appropriately, you shouldn't come here.

The food was very bad: over salted calamari made on bad oil, pre-made pizza and very unfriendly and unprofessional service - when i said that i didn’t like the food (and i didn’t eat anything from the plate) the waiter just nodded and left - no further discussions, offering a compliment or excluding it from the bill. i would strongly suggest not to waste your money and time here. very surprised by rather high ragging for this place.

Once and never again - if I could 0 stars for this disaster! The staff has difficulty communicating, you are ignored and you literally have to beg to be served! The tortellini were poured straight from the bag onto the plate, they weren't even warmed up, the dough was raw and hard. Served with aged ham. A plate was completely chipped and a small pile of pasta was presented on it. Our waitress was wearing completely dirty/dirty pants and a T-shirt. You didn't feel comfortable at all with the absolutely bad food - no ambience! There is no indication that payment is only possible in cash, no signs, no information from the staff. There was also no invoice. Absolute disaster and disgrace for the catering industry!

The food was really great....but.....the service was subpar. The non-German speaking employees felt like they only knew the word... "Ready?" The German-speaking employees didn't care if the glasses were empty or if you wanted a dessert. They preferred to chat among themselves and if you indicated that you wanted to pay, it was "ignored"? NO CARD PAYMENT possible without a note when ordering. It's not on any posters or anywhere else. We didn't get an invoice either. Just ask yourself why!!!!

Maybe I should have read the reviews beforehand... The food came quickly and looked really good, but the quality leaves a lot to be desired. A rump steak had a super thick bacon rind, the fish was twice as bad, the dressing on the salad wasn't seasoned, the fried potatoes were super soggy.....

Chock full and just average pizza. Service friendly. Unfortunately no card payment possible. Incomprehensible in times when I already pay by telephone at market stalls.

The food was lukewarm, instead of medallions there were strips of fillet, the staff didn't care what German they spoke (the guest wasn't even able to organize an ashtray, we should look for it ourselves in the restaurant), instead of clearing the table we preferred to sit down the side alley and plays on his cell phone, unfortunately the rest of the wait staff cannot communicate adequately with the guests. There was no question as to whether you wanted something more to drink, rather you had to ask for the bill.

We stood outside at the ice cream stand with others. Were simply ignored by the waitress. At 2 EUR per ball you probably don't need it because of your wealth.

Unfortunately that was a “sentence with X” the fish was twice as dead and the dressing on the salads was bland. Unfortunately the food wasn't seasoned, and unfortunately it wasn't put on the table for seasoning either. A dish was forgotten. Glasses weren't washed clean either. The non-German speaking staff tried hard. The waitress didn't even listen to the criticism. It's a shame, it could be better!!!

We only ate ice cream there. Service was fine even though there wasn't much going on.

Ordered small bitter lemon and got large one. Same with ginger ale. Fried fish rolls with very thin dried fish and slightly fried rolls. Rest of the food like plaice and salmon was ok.

Delicious food and a beautiful view of the harbor

Cozy restaurant at the harbor with a great view of the Kappeln harbor. We were served quickly. A service person brought us the drinks rather listlessly, our child's pizza was forgotten and had to be made (we were not told this... "in a minute, yes?"). They could have been honest here and given us a discount. The pizza was ready when we had already finished eating. The result was a whiny child, some of whom ate with us. It's a shame, but good service and hospitality are different. The food was good, there is nothing to complain about here. All in all, an unfortunate experience for us.

We were looking forward to a lovely evening. Unfortunately, this went a bit wrong. The glass of water was completely dirty and there was a paper price tag in the food. The waiter's response when paying: "Hmm, that shouldn't happen." That was the end of it.

The waiter switched the order with another table, when we pointed this out to the waiter he rushed to the other table and took the people's food away again. He then brought the plate to our table as it was. He claimed the other guests hadn't eaten any of it. Even if this is true, it is an absolute no-go for hygiene reasons. There was no apology and no offer to get a new plate. The service seemed “loveless”. The meal was okay. We won't visit the restaurant a second time.

We ordered a fish platter for two people, which was very clear and served on a plastic tray. The fish was fried and dry, the 4 scampis were also fried. Unfortunately not recommended at all!

Unfortunately, some expensive ice cream, which didn't really blow your socks off. Ball for €2, which is quite small. Ice cream chocolate for €6.50 with a little cream and half a scoop of vanilla ice cream says it all. If you had known beforehand, you would have saved the money.

Great restaurant in the harbor area on the Schlei in Kappeln. The staff was very nice, the order went very quickly despite the restaurant's full outdoor area, and the drinks arrived in no time. Not bad at all! Ordered food, two pizzas, two pasta dishes. All four dishes were very, very tasty. The pizzas were a little different than usual, and an extra request was also taken into account. Everything was perfect for us! The price of everything is absolutely okay for today's standards. We would eat there again...on our next vacation!?

The water for the children didn't come, the third cutlery wasn't brought even after the second request, the fish was thinner than some fried potato slices and correspondingly dry after grilling and a shandy was brought instead of beer. All in all very disappointing.

Friendly and attentive service, so we didn't have to wait long for our food. The selection of food is good and it tasted great. I deducted one star because I found the drinks overpriced.

Mass processing, some service staff make an effort, others unfortunately don't. Given the prices, I expect more friendliness, more service and the food needs better quality!
