The ambience could be spruced up a bit... tablecloth had stains... chairs worn... But... the food was very tasty.. at a good price

Very nice restaurant with outside seating. Inside, the furniture is very cramped, so you have to be careful how you move. The air inside is very bad due to the open kitchen, so fresh air should be provided occasionally. The interior lighting is not enough here and there, so you may have to use your cell phone flashlight to read the menu. The service is very attentive and friendly. The order is received quickly and delivered quickly. The food is sufficient and tasty. A reservation is recommended, which speaks for itself. Unfortunately, card payment is not possible... this should be noted. We didn't find any reference to it before, but maybe we just overlooked it.

This was the second time we were guests at the Taj, once spontaneously for lunch at the weekend and once reserved with a larger group. The ambience may seem a little kitschy, but we felt very comfortable in the overall very relaxed atmosphere. The service was very friendly, courteous and attentive, they paid close attention to the guests' wishes and served quickly. Thanks to the large number of people in our group, we were able to try out the menu and regardless of whether it was vegan, vegetarian dishes, shellfish or meat, the dishes were all excellent. For those who like it a little spicy and would like to try something different, we recommend trying Pani Puri (No. 14). The food was plentiful, appetizingly prepared and excellently seasoned, and the price-performance ratio was also good. We thank you for the wonderful time at the Taj and are sure we will come back. PS: We are also a bit jealous that the Bonn locals seem to like to pick up their food there too! Enjoy your meal! :D

I almost wanted to give up going to an Indian restaurant. Luckily I tried it again. The four of us were guests on Sunday afternoon. Beautifully designed guest room, friendly reception. The extensive map is a bit difficult for inexperienced people. We took menus twice for two people each. Drinks included lassi and homemade lemonade. In short: the food was excellent! Very tasteful and with completely new flavors for me. Very spicy and each individual pan has its own taste. Price performance absolutely okay! Not our last visit!

I recently hosted a party and I was thoroughly impressed with both the food and the service. The dishes were a perfect blend of authentic Indian flavors, with every item freshly prepared and beautifully presented. My guests couldn’t stop raving about the delicious spread. The service was outstanding—courteous, attentive, and timely. They made sure everything ran smoothly, creating a delightful and stress-free experience for us.

If you like Indian, you can't miss this excellent restaurant. Delicious food with a wide variety of variations and extremely friendly service. We'd love to come back.

The place is very nice, it is very spacious and the service is fast. The food is good, but it can be even better. Maybe they can be more flexible.

We are very disappointed!! We had reservations for 8:00 p.m. Unfortunately, our reservation for Friday evening was received but simply ignored. Likewise, we were ignored by the completely overwhelmed employees when we pointed out our reservation. In the end, after talking to the boss after waiting 15 minutes and clearly insisting, we got a table after the guests at "our" table were clearly told to leave now. This is all about profit and not about the well-being of the guests! Too bad. Disastrous organization, extremely loud and cramped. Clearly not a recommendation!!

I have no experience with Indian food, but the mess on the table of 4 people with main courses was just too much for me. There are some separate sauces and dips with flatbreads. The service is good, the prices are okay. The mango lassi is really delicious.

Very tasty Indian food. Friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere and good value for money. For my birthday I ordered catering for 30 people. The advice was very helpful, which made the buffet even more varied. The quantity was right and there was something for every taste. Assembly and dismantling went as discussed. I would order my catering from Taj India again.

I stopped by Taj India in Bonn for dinner recently after seeing it on many recommended lists. I’d rate the food 8.8/10 - Butter chicken: 9.8/10: Slightly sweet balance out well with, lots of spice, good pieces of chicken - Bombay Biryani: 8.3/10: Lots of spices/flavour, quite a bit of each type of meat, pretty good - Fish Vindaloo: 8.8/10: One of the spiciest vindaloo I've had, felt very authentic, but bit too spicy for me - Butter Naan: 8/10: Typical butter Naan

Great food, more than fair prices!

Fantastic! Even a seemingly simple biryani becomes a work of art visually and an experience when it comes to taste. Other dishes no less: the menu is extensive and varied. The waiting times are relatively short and perhaps the most surprising thing: the prices are at pre-Corona levels. When it comes to quality, the restaurant could do a lot better... There may be other good Indians in Bonn, but they can only be just as good, because it couldn't be better. My new favorite Indian. Was there twice in a short space of time and am already looking forward to the next time! Update September 2024: The rating continues to be correct even after a few more visits. It was my first time eating Bharat Thali from the lunch menu and I can only recommend it.

I found my go to spot in Bonn. Everything my boyfriend and I ate was a 10/10. (Pani puri, lamb kajuu and a butter chicken) And the prices were affordable too! I lived in Dubai for 20 years and there were a lot of great indian restaurants. Taj India reminds me of home. I'm coming back soon with friends ♡

The taste was authentic and served on time but I was really amazed by how well the staff treated us and that’s what I would like to emphasise on. Excellent cuisine, for example the lamb biryaani had lots of fresh ingredients, the jhalfrezi was also very tasty, the service was very attentive.

The restaurant did not feel responsible for supplying missing food. I ordered through a delivery service. When the order arrived and I noticed that two things were missing, I immediately called the restaurant and explained the problem. I was told to contact the driver. After several requests to simply deliver the food, the man on the phone remained stubborn (Why would the driver take two things out of the bags?!) After I called the driver, he advised me to call the restaurant again. I did this. After I mentioned my request, I was pushed away and they simply hung up on me. After that, the restaurant was no longer accessible. Incredibly bad service. It's not a bad thing that something is missing, but refusing to deliver the missing food that has already been paid for is a disgrace! It's a shame, the food delivered was very tasty.

Service was good, very bad food in germany, never tasted so bad. Everything Was frozen food, which you can get from nearby supermarkets. Indian authentic food you cannot get here, lot of Salt or the same gravy for lot of different dishes. Everything Was bland, we almost ordered 10 different dishes. Dessert Was terrible, sorry to ne harsh. But that's the reality! May be germans like it.

Visited the restaurant for lunch. Incredible starters and great main course food with very nice ambience. We’ve ordered Samosa, murgh chicken for starters. For main course, we’ve ordered Garlic naan, Pudhina naan with a chicken curry (extra spicy). Taste of the food was amazing. Owners were very nice and tried to accommodate the customers very well. Would definitely recommend for a friend! Glad to visit again.

I first visited this restaurant during my client visit in Bonn in Jan 2023 and trust me the food is so amazing that, then it was usual visit for all of us every week. And now all my non Indian colleagues also love Indian food because of their wonderful experience. Staff is so friendly and accommodating that it takes you back to your home country ☺️ I am from Luxembourg but sometime go there specially whenever I crave for good Indian food.

All in all a good restaurant. You can't get the starters everywhere, but the menus for two and three people are very well done. Overall solid. A little more finesse would be good for the shop. Less choice and more pizzazz would be good. The toilet situation is not nice at all. Something urgently needs to be done. Therefore ambience -2.

Food was good. Prices for the food are also very good. Portions were ok. There could have been a little more rice, but it wasn't quite enough. There was also a small stone in the food (probably in the rice). The desserts were tiny and not nearly as good as the food, so you can safely skip them. Unfortunately, the toilet smelled strongly of urine and had no way to dry your hands. You definitely need to make a reservation on weekend evenings. Due to the good price-performance ratio, we will definitely give the store another chance to improve the few negative points. Then you can easily get 5 stars.

The food comes for two people, but it's barely enough for one person. There are places where I have eaten tastier Indian food. The table and chairs are very bulky. Tablecloths definitely need to be changed.

One of the best Indian restaurants in the city. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was quick and the food is Halal. They offered us freshly made naan on the house which is amazing and light and it just melts in the mouth. The Bheilpuri Chaat was amazing and the Paneer Butter Masala with Naan was the best combo. And to top it off... the Mango Lassi and Masala Lassi was the best drink to finish your perfect meal.

Nice Indian restaurant in the middle of Bonn. Friendly staff, nice colorful selection of starters, very tasty lassis, unfortunately the main courses were all a bit "dry" (which was perhaps due to our selection), but the selection in the menu is too large, the espresso wasn't good, the dessert was very good small. Waiting times were ok. So it's best to take a look at the menu before you visit!

We were travelling through Bonn on our way back home from a trip. It was the last day of the year and we wanted to have a special lunch. The Prawns and nawabi chicken biriyani was really good, albeit spicy. It was ok since I was used to spicy food. But would be better to ask them to reduce spice level for the non-spicy ppl. The mango lassi was too good for words. The staff were friendly. The restaurant was next to a paid Parkhaus, so we didn’t even have to drive around looking for a parking spot. All in all a very good experience. If we happen to come to Bonn again, we will definitely come back here.

Ein rundum perfektes Erlebnis. Die essensauswahl ist groß und es wird ausreichend Reis zu den Gerichten serviert. Ich denke mal dieser wird auf Wunsch nachgefüllt, war bei uns jedoch nicht notwendig. Das Essen war super lecker und es gibt sogar eine super Getränke Auswahl die selbst cocktails beinhaltet. Auch das feeling mit ruhiger indischer Musik im Hintergrund und der richtigen Menge an indischen Dekorationen lässt einen in die indische Welt komplett eintauchen. Vielen Dank für den tollen Tag :)
