I like this restaurant. The food tastes amazing and you get some pizza bread with butter or skme spread before. The price performance is good in my opinion and the variety as well. What I disliked, and it happend more than once, is the waiting time to order. Either way getting a drink food or the bill takes a lot of time sometimes longer than I would like. Other than that, I would recommend the restaurant any time.

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience. We went there a second time to try it again, because the first time wasn't quite right. I received a tuna fillet with a sauce poured over it that wasn't even on the menu. Oh well... I thought. Very soon after eating the tuna, my tongue became swollen and covered in bumps. It really hurt. I had no idea what it was, and relatively quickly I got diarrhea and had to go to the restroom several times. A friend had an allergy pill with her, and at least my tongue improved. I had absolutely no idea what was going on since I don't have any allergies and eat tuna often. Now I know what it was. The tuna had gone bad. My friend, who also had tuna, ended up spending the whole night on the toilet. It's not great to serve fish with so much sauce on it like that... We won't be going back.

The service on the phone was extremely disappointing. I simply wanted to ask if a table for four was available, or when one would become available. However, my question was ignored. Instead, I was met with a curt, "Oh yes, everyone has a bit of a wait," and then the phone hung up before I could even finish speaking. This was incredibly rude and embarrassing in front of my guests. We subsequently chose a different restaurant. We certainly don't need to deal with such behavior, and we won't be spending our money there.

A highly recommended Italian restaurant run by the Cidaria family. The staff is very friendly. The food is excellent – ​​we sampled the superb pasta dishes made with homemade pasta on two days of our short stay in the region. The tomato cream soup and the calf's liver were also delicious. They also offer Italian drinks like beer and cola. The price-performance ratio is very good, and the generous portions are more than ample. If we didn't live so far away, we would definitely be frequent guests.

We, the guys from the Schalke Arena parking lot, wanted to go out for a nice meal together. We stumbled across Trulli by chance. We, 8 of the planned 13, had reserved a table. It's a great restaurant, the location is also great, and the service was super friendly and accommodating. The food was top-notch. The starters were beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. The interior is beautiful and lovingly decorated. You could watch the food being prepared if you wanted. Of course, Trulli was super busy, so you could wait a bit for your beer, but it was all within reason. Many thanks to the boss, a great guy. If you want great food, then head to Trulli.

The food was excellent. The staff were very friendly, but the service was simply poor. The restaurant was only half full, but we still had to wait ten minutes for our reserved table to be ready. It took over half an hour for drinks to be served; the starters arrived first. We weren't asked for more drinks. The empty plates sat on the table for 30 minutes before they were cleared. Only on this occasion were drinks reordered. Card payments are not accepted; unfortunately, this information was not provided when reserving a table, at the restaurant entrance, or when ordering. We couldn't personally criticize the service because, after receiving the bill and being informed that only cash was accepted, no one came to the table. We left after half an hour and left the money on the table. It's a real shame, the food is truly excellent. Next time we'll order and pick up the food.

I ate the best Bolognese of my life there. The atmosphere is simply cozy and inviting. I particularly like the beautiful tablecloths on the tables. The waiters there are very friendly and competent. The price-performance ratio is completely reasonable. But the food there is simply incredibly delicious. You can taste that the pasta is homemade and everything is freshly prepared. I can really recommend everyone to eat there; you won't regret it. However, you can't pay by card here, only in cash, unfortunately. It would be nice if they could change that. Otherwise, it's a really good restaurant.

Unfortunately, a complete disaster, and a bit cheeky, too. I ordered a pizza with spinach and egg. The wait was pleasant, and after about 20 minutes, the food arrived. Unfortunately, the pizza wasn't as ordered; the ham and egg were missing. I wouldn't have said anything about the egg, as it's not an essential ingredient in this dish. After pointing out the missing ham, the pizza was taken away. To my surprise, a "new" pizza came back two minutes later. The missing ham was simply placed on top of the pizza, and the famous egg was still missing. This kind of "customer service" is borderline. I then handed over my pizza and said I didn't want any more. I wanted to pay for my two drinks. With this comment about paying the bill, the waitress left the table. About three minutes later, another waitress came and placed the pizza I had returned on my table. When I explained the previous situation, I was told that this pizza had been "remade." Pure madness!!! You can screw things up sometimes when there's a lot to do, but to rip off and lie to customers is an absolute disgrace. It's definitely busier than usual today because of a concert, but this concert has been known for a while, and it's the owner's job to make sure the place runs smoothly. I've been back after a long time, and it will definitely be the last time. Even my companions, who often come here, were shocked.

It was naturally noisy at a Christmas party with many guests, but that's part of it – the team had everything under control even in this situation. It's just as pleasant with family: child-friendly, warm, and uncomplicated. Everyone feels welcome. The service is always attentive and friendly. You're never left alone for long, and the staff always keeps an eye on your guests' well-being. For us, this blend of professionalism and warmth is a large part of the charm. The only minor drawback: Parking spaces directly in front of the door are rare. However, the parking garage right next door makes this easy to solve. Our conclusion: Trulli is a true favorite restaurant for us—whether for special occasions like company parties or simply a relaxing evening with the family. One star deducted for the ambiance because the noise level can sometimes be a bit loud. But that might be because everyone feels at home.

The best Italian restaurant in Gelsenkirchen and the surrounding area offers a comprehensive selection of typical Italian dishes and drinks at reasonable prices. One point is deducted for the unfortunately always rather loud atmosphere. The exterior facade could also benefit from a paint job. The unkempt appearance (especially the partially peeling red adhesive film on the exterior façade under the large windows facing the street) is a bit distracting. This area could definitely use a fresh coat of paint! The restrooms are unfortunately quite small and cramped, making them less than ideal for people with disabilities. Unfortunately, this also deducts a star. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend Trulli!

We recently had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We were actually really looking forward to our visit – the menu sounded interesting, the ambiance in the pictures made a good impression, and we wanted to spend a pleasant evening there. Unfortunately, we never even made it to our table. We were immediately intercepted by a member of staff at the entrance and told in a very dismissive tone that we were not allowed in. When we asked why, we were simply told that our "demeanor" or "appearance" was not appropriate. We didn't receive a more detailed explanation, despite politely requesting several times. It was obvious that our attire wasn't inappropriate here – we were well-groomed, neatly dressed, and definitely not inappropriate for a regular restaurant. Rather, the impression was created that we were simply being singled out based on our outward appearance. This behavior is not only disrespectful but highly discriminatory. A restaurant should treat its guests based on hospitality and service, not on superficialities. We felt degraded and excluded before we even had the chance to experience the quality of the food or service. Aside from the personal disappointment, such behavior is damaging to business: Anyone who turns away guests so arbitrarily signals that they don't value fairness, diversity, and equal treatment. For an establishment that outwardly sets a certain standard, this is simply unacceptable. Conclusion: Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food and service could have been good, but anyone who treats their guests like this doesn't deserve our time or money.

I think i got the worst pasta in my life in there. I heard that german food is not that great but this is next level. Imagine child food but a portion for a soldier, not seasoned enough and untasty. Thank god the wine was ok

Now it feels like it's absolutely a part of Gelsenkirchen. Which is a shame, because Trulli used to add a lot of value to Gelsenkirchen. The manager is, as always, super friendly, but that doesn't save the food or the service.

We were there for the first time today. The service was poor. We were only offered a seat in the blazing sun, despite having a reservation. When we asked, we were told the sun would soon go away. We had to wait a long time before anyone even came to our table. A drinks menu wasn't even provided. When the food finally arrived, the cream sauce on the salmon pasta wasn't properly combined and was splitting. The other pasta dish was overly acidic. The pizza had frozen spinach on it. All in all, not recommended.

I've been going to Trulli for many years and am very satisfied. If you drop by spontaneously as a couple, you can usually always get a seat. If you're planning on visiting with several people, it's better to make a reservation. The value for money is truly top-notch! It's important to note that they're closed on Wednesdays, as many restaurants are closed on Mondays. The food and drinks are really great. The pasta is homemade, and you can take a look inside the kitchen. In summer, you can also sit outside. Parking in the surrounding area hasn't been a problem so far. It can sometimes be a bit noisy, especially on weekends, but I definitely find that bearable. I live in Recklinghausen and am happy to make the drive to Gelsenkirchen for a visit to Trulli.

The food at the Trulli restaurant was truly outstanding. I had bucatini – the portion was absolutely generous and delicious. The small salute from the kitchen, consisting of pizza rolls and herb bread, was also very tasty and rounded off the culinary experience perfectly. Unfortunately, this positive impression was massively tarnished by the waiter's behavior. During our visit, he openly and clearly expressed xenophobic views. As a group of supposedly foreign-looking people walked past the restaurant, he said in an aggressive tone, "Move on, move on," and glared at the people with hostility. He then stated in our presence that such people were not welcome in his restaurant and that he sometimes enjoys turning them away. Such discriminatory and inhumane behavior is absolutely unacceptable – regardless of how good the food is. For this reason, I cannot and do not recommend the restaurant.

Everything is so delicious, and the service is great! When the weather's nice, you can even sit outside. The fruit juice spritzers are also particularly good! We were also absolutely thrilled with the catering for home. I would definitely recommend it for any party, etc. You'll get great advice!

Following a recommendation that we wanted Italian food, we found our way here, and the way we were greeted immediately won us over. The staff was very friendly and professional. We dropped in spontaneously without a reservation and managed to get a seat on the beautiful terrace, where it's simply cozy and unpretentious. Despite the main road next door, you feel very comfortable. The starters were very good, and the main course was even better. Because we felt so comfortable and liked the food so much, we ordered another tiramisu and a soufflé, and they rounded it all off perfectly. A recommendation for everyone.

We spontaneously stopped in here on a Saturday evening on a friend's recommendation and were absolutely thrilled. First of all, the place is extremely busy, so it's always best to make a reservation. The pizza rolls as an appetizer were amazing, some of the best I've ever eaten. The pasta was freshly prepared, and you can taste it. One small criticism: we literally waited almost an hour for our food because it was so busy. But the good conversation made it easy to pass the time, and the incredibly delicious food quickly made you forget all that. If you're looking for a great Italian restaurant, you'll find it here!

We were there yesterday for a private celebration and had a separate room for the group. We were warmly greeted at the champagne reception upon arrival, but not everyone was offered sparkling wine or spritzer. The ambiance in the restaurant is very nice, but unfortunately, the view outside onto the main street isn't. Unfortunately, we were only given a "slimmed down" menu, although I don't know if the restaurant itself generally does this for larger parties, or if the host arranges it when making the reservation. However, you could also order from the general menu upon express request, which you'd be reluctant to do. Since there was absolutely nothing on the "slimmed down" menu for us, we had to take advantage of it. The appetizers were very tasty, but the quantity was far too small for the number of people. While ordering our food, a girl wanted the waiter to order only pasta of her own choosing. He vehemently ignored this, presumably because it was a child and her parents weren't sitting nearby. Ultimately, he "talked" her into a completely different pasta dish. After ordering, we waited what felt like an eternity for our food. The service regarding drinks also left a lot to be desired. Questions were asked far too rarely, and we had to wait a very long time. When the first food arrived from the kitchen, a woman was served pizza, even though she said she had ordered pasta. The waiter (the same one as the girl) dismissed this with the comment, "I'm 100% sure I had pizza written down for you," and that was the end of the matter for him. My meal (Pollo Caponata) came without a side dish. After a while, the waiter said, "Oh, you're still missing your side dish, it'll be right there." I thought that was very thoughtful. However, my side dish still hasn't arrived... The chicken was cooked far too long and was therefore very dry. The girl's food didn't arrive either. At some point, it became clear that she had been forgotten. Her food arrived long after everyone else had finished. She ended up eating a few forkfuls of it and then left it because she apparently didn't like it. But then, it wasn't a dish she had chosen herself; it was more or less talked into her by the waiter. The pizza, from what I gathered from the other guests who were eating pizza, was apparently good. My conclusion: Very disappointing. Thank you, but we certainly won't be coming back.

We decided to eat here two evenings in a row. Great service, great food, atmosphere just great. Anyone who doesn't give 5 stars everywhere is not being honest, sorry. We would love to come back. The only small point of criticism is that I said both times that I would like a small portion of salad because I have a sleeve stomach and can't eat that much, unfortunately the full portion was always brought. From original Italian pizza to delicious meat and fish dishes, homemade pasta and great desserts, there is really something for every taste. The atmosphere is cozy, with a lovingly designed interior and a nice option to sit outside. The warm, family atmosphere is particularly pleasant. You receive a friendly welcome and just feel completely at home. Since the restaurant is always very busy, a reservation is recommended.

Even before entering, a very unpleasant situation arose: another guest was loudly upset with me because I (accidentally) parked in a parking space reserved for a practice. The joke was that he himself was standing there too. After I kindly pointed out to him that he wasn't allowed to stand there either, he ran angrily into the restaurant and complained loudly about me to the staff. Even though the restaurant was almost empty, we were told that there was no free table. To us, this seemed more like a reaction to the incident outside the door and left a very bad impression. Unfortunately we felt neither welcome nor treated with respect. For a restaurant that thrives on good service, such behavior is completely unprofessional. Therefore no recommendation from us.

Essen sehr lecker und bezahlbar, aber satt wird man nicht. Außer einer einzigen Kellnerin, gibt es kein freundliches Lächeln. Alle sind sehr hektisch unterwegs. Insgesamt stehen die Tische sehr eng. Man sitzt quasi beim Nachbarn auf dem Schoß. Auf die Frage, das restliche Essen einzupacken, ernten wir ein Augenrollen und den Kommentar: "Alles? Das ist aber Arbeit." Zu guter Letzt muss man die Rechnung dann noch selbständig auseinanderdividieren --> unverschämt! Ist uns nicht zum ersten Mal passiert, bei mehr als 6 Personen. Fazit: Wohlfühlfaktor fehlt, daher werde ich nicht mehr hingehen

Last but not least, you have to divide the bill independently --> outrageous! This isn't the first time this has happened to us, with more than 6 people. Conclusion: feel-good factor is missing, so I won't go there anymore

We chose pasta from the Parmesan wheel twice. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to see the loaf, but the noodles were delicious. Unfortunately not hot. But the restaurant was very full, it was New Year's Eve. We paid €88 with a starter, two glasses of wine and a bottle of water.
