Fantastic Italian food, good local beer and lovely environment. However, the service is not great. You have to wait a long time to pay.

We had ordered to be picked up. The food was already ready and so we were looking forward to the delicious meal at home. Now the crux of the matter... The food... Horrible!!! The pizza burned well!!! Lots of hype. It was super crowded even on a Tuesday. Waited a long time for service. But they were friendly. Pizza was big and my husband liked it. My seafood pizza had some prawns and lots of thick pieces of salmon. I wasn't waiting for that. More on calamari, mussels, etc. Otherwise I would have ordered a salmon pizza. So less satisfied.

It took 3/4 hour until we were asked for drinks and food. Drinks came quite quickly, but it took over another hour for food. Of course the store was packed, but more and more people were welcomed. The staff as such was friendly and nice, but understaffed for the number of guests.

We were there yesterday (10/12/24) and were pleasantly surprised after everything we read here. The staff very nice and attentive. The food came quickly and was delicious, neither of us managed to empty our plates. A thoroughly successful evening. We'll definitely be back. We were just ignored when we collected the money and no one could say thank you for the tip. I don't know that.

A total disaster, the food is ok, the pizza I have to say is really tasty but they sell tap water for €6? The owner has switched from real bottled water to tap water with a sparkling machine. This is also sold for €6, I think I'm a spider. Classic Italian water is too expensive for them.

The boss is great! I was there for the first time with my partner on October 1st, 2024 and it's been a long time since I've seen a boss in the restaurant "mingling with the crowd" so to speak. He was always present and regularly asked us about our feelings and told us something about the pizza dough. You can tell that this man works according to family tradition and that he is not only proud of his shop (which he definitely should be!), but that he also puts his whole heart and passion into it, just like the entire team. The ambience is authentically Italian but with a modern touch. In my opinion, the atmosphere is so pleasant that you can completely forget the Gelsenkirchen locals around it. The only point I have to address is the noise in the place. Personally, it didn't bother me because the owner can't change the volume of the individual guests or the acoustics of the restaurant. However, there are people who would see it as criticism. Price performance is top. The perfect shop for a special occasion but also to simply enjoy authentic, delicious Italian food in comfort.

Nevertheless, we probably had the wrong evening: the bruschetta was too salty, the red wine was ice cold, and 2 of the 4 dishes were swimming in oil. The main courses arrived so late that the first dish was almost cold when 2 & 3 were delivered, the 4th arrived when the 1st dish was almost eaten. Too bad. Reservation and service were great, but maybe the trattoria was just too full...

Even 1 star is too much… A table for 7 people was reserved. After we stood in the front door for half an hour, the waitress started putting together a table for us right in front of the toilet. After about an hour of waiting we got our food. Tastes can be different but this was anything but tasty either they put the pizza directly on the coals and the pasta is only made with flour. Selling a plate with 3 small schnitzels and 2 forks of pasta as a pasta dish is really hard. That too for an affordable €23… Condition cannot be understood. Things were ordered and never delivered. The large 0.3L drink is a small drink with 5 ice cubes. Pizza is soggy and cheese smells like my airforce 1. Ambience way too loud. All in all it was a complete failure when paying for things that we didn't have. Disrespectful

I didn't like the store at all, the food was completely charred "supposedly because of a new oven" we waited more than an hour to be able to sit down even though we had resaved. We also waited forever for the food. Overall, the visit was a failure. I don't recommend him.

Very slow service, rude team. The host should learn to smile and make people at home, especially foreign visitors. We arrived around 6 pm, on October 5th. We had a reservation. But, somehow, we landed the table in front of the restrooms, although this large restaurant was not full at all. There was no water on the table. I asked for water twice.The gentleman did not visit us to get our order for almost 20 minutes. Update as of 7:05pm. And finally, we had a nicer, smiling waitress. She was good. The 1st rude male waiter disappeared after ignoring us almost half an hour. I would not take any highly special guests here again. I am an angel investor and a Google guide. So, I have learned to review a business. The team did not seem to be happy to work there. The assets were the "ok" food and the 2 smiling young female employees. No one and nothing else.

We tried the restaurant after a long time because my work colleague really likes eating there, the menu looks good and there are lots of good reviews. What should I say? My husband and I are very disappointed. My husband didn't like the spaghetti. And I didn't like my fish. I've eaten fish in white wine sauce before, but I didn't like it at all here. It was a bit like eating apple cider vinegar. The vegetables with potatoes were ice cold. We had a 15 minute drive home, but it was really cold. Then I put it in the microwave again. The dessert was quite good. Panacotta and mousse au chocolat were very good. The tiramisu was ok, but we are definitely used to better. Unfortunately it didn't convince us. Too bad.

The service staff is ok. My pizza, I had the pizza with shrimps, was also ok. My companions had the seafood pizza, which tasted good, and lamb pasta, which was a bit bland and the lamb didn't really taste like lamb either. We sat outside on the terrace, which was covered with wild wine. It was very nice and cozy there. I would describe the prices as rather high. The pasta cost €19, my pizza came to €15.

Despite reservations, we (10 people) had to wait half an hour for the table. We got 4 glasses of champagne for everyone, no one asked if we still had to drive. Then get a table in the pantry and storage room. The pasta from the cheese body was half raw and cold. And the sauce was 90% cream, there was hardly any parmesan in it. Also logical, cold pasta doesn't melt cheese. The prawns were only in the pan for a very short time and were still very glassy on the inside. 2 pizzas were still raw in the middle. As an apology, there was a selection of dessert for the 10 of us: 2 panna cotta, 2 dollops of chocolate mousse, 2 chocolate cakes and 2 dollops of ice cream. Sorry but I won't be back. Because I then spent the night in the toilet.

When we arrived we were greeted with hello for two, no smiles, nothing, it was very busy and they wanted to seat us right at the entrance to the kitchen, we politely declined and were then given another table. I found it very strange when the older waiter (I think the boss) came to our table even though we were still eating (olives and herb butter) and suddenly took our plates away. We then looked at the olives and herb butter without plates and waited for our food, which came after about half an hour. The food was okay, I didn't get full, so I went to another pizzeria afterwards. My conclusion: the restaurant is very loud due to the background noise, no waiter smiled until we wanted the bill. Then the shock, my girlfriend had to pay for my meal because this restaurant doesn't accept card payments. A little tip for Trulli: these days you should offer card payment.

If you like pizza with a thick crust, this is the place for you. Mineral water comes from the soda maker, staff is not very accommodating due to the many guests, prices are above average.

It takes a whole day to discover all the great details and see everything. It was really great and we will definitely come back again. Since the exhibition changes from time to time, it really makes sense several times.

But none of us thought that we would just have to wait over an hour for the food. When the food finally came, some of it was burnt, overly salty or not seasoned at all. None of us were happy with the food. Unfortunately.. The service is actually great, the employees were friendly and accommodating. Only the older waiter felt under pressure. He seemed very annoyed and when one of us asked for a little more cheese, the waiter simply rubbed the cheese over the food and also over us. It's only stupid if you're dressed smartly, like we were. Unfortunately, I personally won’t be coming back…

We know the Cidaria family from the old Trulli in the same place over 30 years ago and were very happy when the son opened another restaurant, "La Piazza", about 10 years ago. And now there is a new trulli in the old place in a modern, cozy atmosphere - high-quality Italian cuisine, very tasty, unfortunately sometimes a bit Mediterranean speed, but always warm! Absolutely everything is great here! My mother was already here when she was a child and there was a raffle to win a pizza. 30 or 40 years ago. Today it is a top-class Italian restaurant. I've eaten pasta there several times - every single one is homemade and top-notch. The pizza there is unique! The salami is of great quality, the cheese is not run of the mill, the service is great. I will definitely come back again and again!

The negative thing is that the toilet is very cramped in my opinion. I also find that the chairs are sometimes stained and become increasingly uncomfortable after sitting for a long time. But of course that is a subjective feeling. Likewise, a wheel of cheese simply stands between the door and the hinge. There are probably some special dishes prepared there. I have no idea about food hygiene per se, but I found this a bit strange. The cutlery is past its best and should be replaced. Overall, it is very loud and conversations with people sitting next to you at the table are hardly possible. The service is very pseudo-friendly. Statements like "That really needs to go" while you're getting a special menu with a fish dish are extremely inappropriate and, in my opinion, extremely unprofessional for this price category. To eat. Again, not really good (if you put that in relation to the price) but not bad either. My pizza was well topped and cooked through. However, the tomato sauce was very watery and, especially in the middle of the pizza, this meant that it was very limp and soupy. The carpaccio starter was my first, so I can't make a solid statement about it. (I probably won't order it again regardless of the restaurant) I would like to highlight the brew that is sold in a very positive way. Good beer, acceptable price. Now to the most negative point, which will prevent me from visiting this restaurant again. Card payment is not possible, which is not noted anywhere and should actually be the absolute standard these days, especially in this price category. If I can pay by card at the bakery or kiosk around the corner, why not at a restaurant in the mid-price segment? Finally, I would like to point out that I am reflecting subjective perceptions here.

I wouldn't even know where to start, there were six of us there. It took forever for someone to come and take the drink requests and bring the cards. And then a special card was thrown onto the table with the note “urgently has to go”. Well, ordered drinks and waited forever for them. For dinner, three of us ordered a starter, everyone had a main course and another three of us had a dessert. Here too, the wait for the food took forever. The pizzas we ordered were dripping with fat and later brought us a relationship with the quiet place. In terms of the atmosphere, I don't recommend it either, it's very loud and you can barely understand your own words, plus dogs are allowed inside and I don't mean service dogs, which I find very unhygienic. When it came time to pay, they just said, no, we don't offer card payment. Nowhere is this noted or was it communicated to us when making reservations. Conclusion for me/us never again.
