Ristorante Pizzeria Zum Schwanen in Hanau

Katastrophaler Service, man hat uns vergessen, wir mussten 2 Stunden auf unser Essen warten, Gäste an 3 verschiedenen Tischen, die nach uns gekommen waren und ebenfalls Vor- und Hauptspeise bestellt hatten, waren schon wieder weg, als wir immer noch nichts hatten. Keine Entschuldigung, kein nettes Wort, nur mehrfach pampig der Verweis auf Chaos in der Küche, obwohl wir sehr vorsichtig und nett nachgefragt haben. Schließlich brachte man uns zweimal Gerichte, die wir nicht bestellt hatten und die komplette Bestellung musste neu aufgegeben werden. Die kalte Vorspeisenplatte für 13 Euro bestand aus zwei Stückchen Tomate, 2 kleinen Stäbchen Mozzarella, etwas Eisbergsalat, 3 Scheiben roher Schinken, 2 dünnen Scheibchen Salami, eine davon schon trocken und wellig. Eine Frechheit! Das Gorgonzola und das Parmigiana Schnitzel waren gut, ebenso die Minestrone. Im Gegensatz zu jedem anderen der zahlreichen Besuche in der Vergangenheit gab es nicht mal was aufs Haus, nicht mal in Anbetracht dieser ewigen Wartezeit. Ich mochte dieses Lokal immer sehr gerne, der Service war immer sehr nett, aufmerksam und professionell, aber das Verhalten und der Umgang mit dieser Panne, die ja mal passieren kann, war einfach unsäglich. Leider unser allerletzter Besuch, so unverschämt, unhöflich und unprofessionell bin ich noch nie behandelt worden!

Egal wie und was wir bestellt haben kam anders ... Vorspeise kam mit Hauptgericht zusammen Hähnchen Filet mit Nudeln statt Bratkartoffeln mussten die Nudeln extra bezahlen und die Bratkartoffeln obwohl wir die nicht bekam ..... Am Ende nie wieder werden wir dort hingehen .... Wirklich schlecht 6-

Ich möchte mich von Herzen für die wunderbare Erfahrung in diesem Restaurant bedanken. Einen Ort zu finden, an dem man wirklich leckere glutenfreie Pizza und Pasta essen kann, ist nicht einfach – aber hier wurden meine Erwartungen weit übertroffen. Die glutenfreie Vier-Käse-Pizza war absolut köstlich. Es war schon sehr lange her, dass ich so eine gute Pizza gegessen habe. Der Teig war unglaublich, und für einen Moment konnte ich das Essen einfach genießen, ohne mir Sorgen machen zu müssen. Das hat mich wirklich sehr glücklich gemacht. Außerdem war das gesamte Personal unglaublich freundlich, aufmerksam und herzlich. Dank ihnen konnte ich meinen Geburtstag ganz besonders und entspannt mit meiner Familie feiern. Diese Erfahrung hat mir wirklich das Herz erwärmt. Es geht nicht nur darum, dass das Essen lecker war – ich habe mich willkommen und gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Für Menschen, die glutenfreie Optionen brauchen, bedeuten solche Orte viel mehr, als man vielleicht denkt. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Danke, dass ihr mir wieder die Freude geschenkt habt, so eine leckere Pizza genießen zu können. 💛

Lokal mit üblichen Angeboten italienischer Küche.

Waren heute mittag dort essen. Auf die bitte uns reinzusetzen, da es noch etwas kühl war und meine Mutter etwas friert, wurde dies verneint, da drinne renoviert wird. Alles verständlich wenn nicht Gäste nach uns dann drinne platziert wurden und beim Besuch der Toilette sichtbar nichts renoviert wird..Schade. Man sollte schon ein einheitliches Konzept fahren. Ambiente gut, aber die Terrasse hat etwas an Charme verloren, da sehr mit Sitzmöglichkeiten zusammengewürfelt. Kellner war sehr freundlich..Essen war lecker. Vorspeisenplatte lecker. Dessert auch sehr lecker. Was ich wieder nicht verstehe warum man für Ketchup und Mayo bei Pommes extra bezahlen muss. Dies kann man einfach in der Kalkulation mit einrechnen. Dies wird einen auch nicht gesagt und es steht nicht in der Karte, erst auf der Rechnung. Zusammenfassend viel Potential und gutes Essen.

Die Atmosphäre war toll, die Lage gut und das Personal sehr freundlich. Ich bestellte eine Lasagne, die nicht schlecht war, aber ich habe schon deutlich bessere gegessen.

Schöne Terrasse zum draußen verweilen. Tolle italienisch Küche, alles war wir hatten war sehr lecker. Nettes Personal, aufmerksamer Service und super netter Chef. Es sind auch nur ca. 200 Meter zum Schloß um sich nach einem köstlichen Essen die Beine zu vertreten.

Die Pizza war ok. Das Fischgericht war nichtssagend. Für 25 Euro Fisch mit etwas gegrilltem Gemüse ohne weitere Beilage musste ich für 4 Scheiben Baguette extra zahlen. Kleinlich.

Die Pizzen sind super und das Tiramisu ist mega und die Jungs vom Service sind immer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Ich mochte mich bei dem Team vom Schwanen sehr herzlich bedanken. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen ersten Weihnachtsfeiertag bei euch. Das Essen war wie immer sehr gut und auch der Service Danke nochmal für den schönen Abend

Sardisches Pizza -Restaurant. Die Pizza ist super lecker. Anderes Essen ist auch zu empfehlen. Außerdem gibt es hier original Bier aus Sardinien. Am Wochenende besser vorher anrufen ob es freie Plätze gibt.

Service and food is better than average. Finding space, especially when the garden is not open, is sometimes difficult. Better reserve. I like the pizza, seafood salad, liver and tiramisu there. As one of my previous writers pointed out, I've never had schnitzel there (and probably won't in an Italian restaurant either).

Die Pizza ist geschmacklich wirklich super (auch wenn manchmal etwas weich bei Lieferung). Vorallem aber der Jackpot ist, dass in Kesselstadt überhaupt mal wieder gescheites Essen geliefert wird!! Alle anderen hier kann man ja mittlerweile vergessen…. Toll! Die Preise sind auch sehr fair. Definitiv unser neuer Lieblingslieferservice. (Wir hatten lange gar nicht mitbekommen, dass überhaupt geliefert wird). Freuen uns auf nächstes Mal :)

Erstens hat man uns zuerst an der Türe plaziert (kalt), dann durften wir (danke) weiter hinein ins Lokal, dann haben sich zwei zum Lokal Gehörige sehe sehr laut am Nebentisch mit Gästen fast schreiend verständigt, dann, etwa um 13.40h, wurde irgendwo heftig gelüftet, die Putzmittel standen plötzlich auf einem Tisch und so wurde klar gemacht, wir haben jetzt zu gehen. Öffnungszeit bis 14.00h übrigens. Natürlich gaben wir fluchtartig diese gastfreundliche Stätte verlassen. NUR DER KELLNER war echt ein Lichtblick in dieser Kneipe. Freundlich, zuvorkommend, schnell und wirklich sehr nett. Ach und als wir mal im Sommer da waren (Terrasse/Garten) hatten wir zwar schon bezahlt, unterhielten uns aber noch und wollten die Toilette aufsuchen: GESCHLOSSEN❗️❗️ Gruß-und wortlos❗️❗️❗️ Gastfreundschaft ist was anderes. Trotzdem zwei Sterne weil das Essen ganz ok war.

Ich habe dieses Restaurant zufällig beim Bummeln entdeckt. Es sah von außen sehr einladend aus, also ging ich hinein und wurde nicht enttäuscht – es war wirklich gemütlich. Als ich die Speisekarte studierte, merkten die Angestellten wohl, dass ich nicht so gut in Fremdsprachen bin, und erklärten mir freundlicherweise die Gerichte. Leider habe ich nicht einmal die Hälfte verstanden. Tut mir leid. Ich bestellte einfache Pasta und Pizza, die wahrscheinlich nicht zu ihren Spezialitäten gehörten, aber sie waren sehr lecker. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder, wenn ich die Gelegenheit dazu habe.

Wir kommen schon seit Jahren regelmäßig ins Restaurant. Das Essen schmeckt uns sehr gut. Das einzige was ich persönlich nicht nachvollziehen kann ist, dass die Pommes nicht aus frischen Kartoffeln gemacht werden sondern aus der Tüte. Ich persönlich würde gerne frische Kartoffeln und keine TK Produkte essen, wenn ich ins Restaurant gehe. Ansonsten wirklich top. Authentisch italienisch, netter Service und das Ambiente spricht uns auch sehr an.

Sehr, sehr lecker. Gehen sehr gerne dorthin. Auch das Preisleistungs-Verhältnis stimmt noch. Die hausgemachte Pasta, immer wieder ein Genuss.

Why this restaurant was so busy tonight is beyond me! I ordered a pizza, which was mediocre. My wife ordered a mixed salad with chicken strips, mushrooms, and Grana cheese (Granada Padano, the cheaper version of Parmesan cheese) according to the menu, but it only consisted of iceberg lettuce, four tomato wedges, four cucumber slices, a few sautéed mushrooms, and some Grana cheese, as well as a few chicken breast strips. While clearing our plates, the waiter asked if we liked it. I replied that I imagined a mixed salad differently, perhaps with other leaf lettuces, such as Lollo Rosso, Lollo Bianco, arugula, or radicchio. The waiter simply replied mockingly that he had already sold this salad 10 times today and that you could read everything it contained on the menu. Unfortunately, he didn't address my criticism any further. As a former head chef of a top 5-star hotel in Frankfurt, I cannot accept such a statement!

The beer garden atmosphere is cozy. Attentive service, drink prices are reasonable, and the food takes a while but is freshly prepared. Portions are small (homemade pasta), and prices are reasonable. To fill you up, order dessert or an appetizer.

We ate here for the first and definitely last time. You sit on the terrace on rustic benches. The red plastic tablecloth and the chair cushions for plastic camping chairs complete the shabby look. We were asked for our drink order by five different servers, and yet we waited 20 minutes for the drinks. The servers seemed annoyed, even though there were more people jumping around than necessary. The homemade pasta was overcooked. A complete no-go for an Italian restaurant. I didn't have any different sauces to go with my pasta. Only the cream-to-tomato ratio had been changed. There was no seasoning in the sauces other than cream. My husband had the four-cheese sauce with his overcooked pasta, but here too the sauce consisted only of cream. We were served Parmesan with the pasta, but not the good kind, rather the cheap kind from a packet. The cheese had barely been placed on our toss when it was passed to the next table. Only then did the server ask us if we needed any more. The price-performance ratio is absolutely inadequate. Absolutely nothing here is recommendable.

I wanted to reserve a table for a family celebration and dared to call the number before the official opening time. The manager answered the call in a less than friendly manner. A quick tip: just don't answer if it's not convenient. Because I'm a very nice and polite person, I called again when the phone officially opened. I was informed that the restaurant would close at 10 p.m. When I pointed out the 11 p.m. closing time on their website, the little irascible man completely lost his composure. I don't have to put up with that from a mediocre-at-best restaurant and its owner. I'd much rather spend my money on a restaurant that values its guests.

It's a real shame! We always enjoyed ordering at Schwan because the staff was always friendly and the food was delicious. Now we ordered on a Sunday, and yes, we understand that even the local restaurant is busy on Sundays, but I expect them to cancel my order by phone, not to find that half of my order is missing and three-quarters of the pizza is simply burnt on the bottom. After the rest was delivered, they couldn't handle the criticism either, and they told me to order somewhere else if it wasn't right. With a heavy heart, we are extremely disappointed!

A fantastic Italian restaurant located right next to Philippsruh Palace in Hanau. A wonderful outdoor area with plenty of green space and plenty of room to enjoy the food on offer, and an extensive menu that leaves nothing to be desired. Vegetarians will also find a wide selection of dishes here. The servers are very attentive and friendly. That's what gastronomy should be like these days. We'll be back. The dishes are delicious and generously portioned. The value for money is excellent.

Single people aren't particularly welcome here, as I unfortunately learned firsthand. The outdoor area was busy but far from full. The very stressed-out waiter told me there wasn't a table for one person, even though there were free tables on both sides. Instead, he offered me a table a little off to the side (where the bikes are parked!), which I found very unfriendly. I've always enjoyed visiting this pizzeria and have recommended it to others, but after this experience, I won't be coming back. What a shame!

The owner (presumably) is a disaster. He insults and brazenly provokes a pensioner because he couldn't find the reservation right away. Please keep your distance. The place used to be good, but now everything is run-down, dark, and old.

Good pizza, good service. Nothing extraordinary, but still a nice place to linger. We sat outside, which was very pleasant. The service was prompt, and we didn't have to wait long for drinks or the food itself. All in all, very pleasant. I would visit again.

Unfortunately, it's become a truly unbearable dump. When I have time, I'll detail what really ruined our evening yesterday. For now, I just really want to advise everyone, especially if you used to like the place, not to go here (again). It's just sad. My husband wanted to give me a nice (belated) birthday party, including tickets to the Fairy Tale Festival, but in order to be able to attend on time, we had to leave without getting our ordered food. The wine we ordered didn't arrive, and we didn't get it even when we asked for it... Just a "I forgot," then no one saw the waiter for at least 10-15 minutes. I canceled the wine with another waiter, but it finally arrived a few minutes later. When I said I didn't want it anymore, it was practically forced upon me (poured and placed on the table, even though I had very explicitly declined). During this situation, we learned that they had 'lost the slip' and what we had actually ordered... After waiting for three-quarters of an hour, we left to get to the amphitheater in time to grab a bite to eat. It's a shame, we always loved going there, but that's really history now. I was surprised, because it used to be almost impossible to find a seat. Shabby plastic tablecloths, everything very moldy, chaotic and completely disorganized waiters. The reactions you get here to the reviews also leave me speechless. Truly cheeky. It's a real shame about what used to be such a beautiful, authentic restaurant with charm and good food. We weren't supposed to/weren't allowed to pay for the drinks we did have (beer and water, which had already taken far too long), even though we wanted to insist. It may have been a well-intentioned gesture, but the whole process was completely wrong.

I was absolutely thrilled with this restaurant. The atmosphere is very cozy, and you immediately feel welcome. The food was delicious, especially the pasta and the tiramisu for dessert. Everything tasted fresh and Italian. The service was very friendly and attentive. The waitresses gave us good advice and were always in a good mood. I can recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good Italian food. I will definitely be back!

Unfortunately, our visit to the restaurant "Zum Schwanen" was very disappointing. Although the beer garden was almost empty, the waiter felt disturbed by our small shopping cart. His reaction was completely inappropriate: very loud, unfriendly, and reprimanding. This unpleasant atmosphere spoiled our appetites. We left the restaurant. Hospitality looks different.

The saltomboca was a bit tough, but otherwise OK. Overall, the food was average. The dining room was extremely loud. The owner should take action here.

Falsches Essen wird als Problem vom Kunden hingestellt. Nur bestimmte Gäste bekommen etwas aufs Haus, oder nur wenn man bar bezahlt. Die Carbonara wird als „Italienische Art“ ausgewiesen, aber es wird nur billiger Speck, statt Original Panceta benutzt.

Just how you'd want an Italian restaurant to be, great food, not "just" but also pizza, Linguine Al Tartuffo - super!!! - fast, attentive service - lots of people, but still a pleasant atmosphere - maybe difficult on the weekend without a reservation

"The waiter was very nice and friendly good food!" The problems! All extra toppings for example from seasoning to cheese charged 1.50 euro per extra request and when you are unable to finish your meal and ask for take away you are charged .40 cent for the carton. The proprietor seemed very attentive to the needs and wants of German customers never once acknowledging non-Germans or customers of color in any friendly or polite manner. The proprietor only showed disdainfulness toward non-white customers and seemed very agitated to have them in his establishment. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!

The food for 3 people was very good and tasty. The prices were also okay, the service was a bit confused, the starter was forgotten and a drink was wrong.

Anyone who can tolerate eating at an incredible volume and can't manage large portions will be happy here. Tables lined up far too closely together that don't allow for any privacy. You're basically forced to listen at the next table. The portions (in our case 1x chicken with sauce and 1x panzerottti 4 formaggi...) are really tiny. Few goods for relatively a lot of money. The service is super nice, but you wait a long time for drinks etc. because you're overwhelmed. The food tasted extremely delicious, hence 5 stars. But really just for the taste, which is gone far too quickly because the plate is empty. What a shame. If we ever come back, we'll have pizza. It has a size indication and you then know what you have.

Yesterday we were a birthday party of 18 people and not the only ones that evening. There was no table left. Without exception, we were all satisfied with the food and the service. I don't understand some of the negative reviews. Anyone who has worked in the catering industry knows that staff absences can occur spontaneously and then it can take a while. It also happens that it doesn't suit everyone's taste, but that doesn't make the food bad. The portions of all the Italian dishes were so large that some of the food had to be packed to take away. You can argue about the portions of the schnitzel, but there was no price adjustment so it's understandable for me. Thank you for the lovely, very tasty evening and your great service :)

Yes, good food and a good restaurant

I love everything there! I always go there for the gluten-free pizza because it can be prepared without contamination and always tastes delicious. Service is great too! We come over regularly for dinner! Price-performance ratio is also right! Delivery is also possible.

After waiting 75 (!) minutes, the food arrived with side dishes we hadn't ordered and in ridiculous quantities. The waiters became rude, and we left the restaurant hungry.

A lovely little restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. Points deducted for service as the wrong dish was served twice. The food lacked a bit of zest for me, but overall it was delicious. I definitely recommend this restaurant 👍🏻

I didn't like the food at all. The saltimbocca was too salty and bore no resemblance to the Italian cuisine I'm used to. The vegetables tasted like nothing. The side salad could have come from a cafeteria. The fries were the best. The tiramisu consisted mostly of cream and was also a disappointment. The service was friendly, but limited to the bare essentials. I don't think I'll go there again. It's a shame, because a few years ago the food and service were much better. Perhaps a new owner?

We were there for the first time and the food was super good. Unfortunately, there is a star deduction for the portions that were too small. You could add a little more side dish, which wouldn't necessarily be a big cost factor. Unfortunately we didn't get enough.

Food arrived super quickly, service was always excellent but not intrusive. It was also really tasty, pasta was perfectly al dente, salmon was perfectly done, the only thing you could do was work on the bread a bit (we found it a bit very dry/crunchy)

Essen war super schnell da, Service immer top präsent, aber nicht aufdringlich. War auch super lecker, Pasta perfekt al dente, Lachs perfekter Gargrad, einzig allein am Brot kann man noch ein bisschen arbeiten (das war uns ein bisschen sehr trocken/knusprig)

Der Service ist absolut freundlich, schnell und kann einen Gast jederzeit gut beraten. Die Küche ist qualitativ super und schmackhaft, wobei die Preise überaus angemessen sind. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder, auch wenn wir hierfür 60 km anfahren müssen. Wir waren voll zufrieden.

Actually everything is ok... What just bothers me are the answers to some critical recessions. Some of them are just cheeky. Fkt and/or smileys..... That shows little business sense. An adult would deal with the critical comments. But good, if the junior boss is only in his early 20s..... What can you expect 🤷🏻‍♀️

Unprofessional - especially the way the waiters treat the guests.

I was in this restaurant again after years and was unfortunately totally disappointed. The portions are now tiny and the staff seems completely overwhelmed and incompetent. Our waiter even argued with us instead of attending to our concerns. We were also brought the wrong food, which only made the evening worse. Another big negative is the tyrannical boss who seems to have no idea how to run a restaurant. The decor is ugly and looks thrown together, which makes the whole ambience unpleasant. Overall a very disappointing experience - I definitely won't be returning.

Never again, total failure!!! Sat for over an hour and didn't even get a starter in that time. Rude, unfriendly and stressed out waiters who argue and shout at each other. The starter and main course came together, one meal was completely missing. Simply incompetent!

**Negative restaurant review** As four experienced fine dining restaurateurs, we had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant for lunch. Unfortunately, our visit was marred by some negative impressions right from the start. As soon as we entered the terrace, we noticed a strange smell that made us skeptical. Despite our concerns, we sat down and ordered our food. The waiter who took our order was soon replaced by another colleague who brought us the food. We had ordered spicy food, but when we pointed it out, the waiter told us in Italian in a disrespectful tone, "Calm down." We found this reaction neither appropriate nor respectful. Aside from this unpleasant incident, the meal itself was a disappointment. The pizza was extremely unpalatable and the bread clearly didn't taste fresh. The quality was absolutely inadequate for the prices quoted. To make matters worse, upon closer inspection of the terrace, we noticed that there were brooms lying around untidy, which further deteriorated the overall impression of the restaurant. Overall, the restaurant didn't leave us with a good impression, which is why we can't recommend it at all.

There are two beer gardens for smokers and non-smokers and a restaurant in the building, Food that blows your mind is simply amazing and very tasty, whether pizza or pasta, whether fish or meat, it is exquisite in taste. very nice waiters work in service. average prices depending on what you eat and drink, I recommend.

Unfortunately I have to change my rating. The portions are now simply far too small. The salmon for €23 consisted of a piece of fish no bigger than a fish stick. Plus four tiny potatoes and three small broccoli. That would be unacceptable even as a children's portion.

I had spaghetti in oil and garlic. Unfortunately the spaghetti was quite al dente and could have been cooked for another 2 minutes. The garlic was quite bitter.

The vegetarian pizza is highly recommended. The tiramisu is one of the best I've ever tasted. The waiting time was reasonable and the service was very good.

In our experience today, anyone who “just” wants to come over for a drink or two (late afternoon) is unfortunately only a second class guest. The waiter seated us at a large table and then came, quite unmotivated, to accommodate our requests (we had said in advance that we only wanted a quick drink). My mother (82) had to take a short break in the heat. The order was no longer accepted because we were waved away from the table in a rather arrogant manner by another waiter (or the owner?). We stood there as ordered and not picked up, because as he told us, guests would be arriving soon and would like something to eat and therefore the table was needed. As I said, we were placed there. At the last moment we were assigned a small table in the corner. We went. Not because we didn't understand that large tables are needed for dinner guests, that's okay, but because we were treated like second class guests. By the way: my mother is a regular guest, but hasn't been there for a while. I remembered the friendliness there differently - maybe a change of ownership, whatever.

A complete culinary success across the board! Saturday evening, boring and no desire to cook?? Well then, here is my alternative suggestion: Restaurant “Zum Schwanen” in Hanau. Family-run Italian restaurant with a long tradition. You come in here and immediately feel at home. Great and friendly service staff who “make sure” that you don’t lack anything at all times!! The menu is extensive and has something for everyone. The restaurant appears tidy, structured and clean. The food is hot and well portioned. The price-performance ratio is right. The “boss” personally cooks and always asks about the “well-being” of his guests. Conclusion: If you want a culinary visit with friends, I can 100% recommend the “Schwanen” and his team!

The restaurant is in a good location right next to the castle and the Main for walks. The personnel is very friendly and courteous. The service was quick. The food itself was good but not amazing. The prices are definitely justified. Only the ambience was perhaps a bit old-fashioned, the music was a bit disturbing. We could still work on that :)

Update: the restaurant has improved a lot! Everything including service, food is amazing. I will come more often in the future

We were at Zum Schwanen for the first time today and had already read some very contradictory reviews here. In short: the outdoor area was almost completely occupied. We didn't have to wait long for our order, the service was always friendly and the food tasted good. in long: Under “house style starter plate” I would have imagined a variation of sausage, cheese and anti pasti in a pizzeria. It was more vitello tonnato surrounded by salami and ham, on a large plate. There was also crispy baked white bread. The same goes for the cannelloni stuffed with minced meat. Until now, cannelloni were big round noodles for me. The ones served looked more like rolled sheets of lasagna. But I'm not Italian and can't estimate what variants there are. In any case, they were evenly cooked. The tomato sauce tasted good like tomatoes and it was gratinated with plenty of cheese. Even if our expectations weren't quite met, we'll be back to try the pizza. The one from the neighboring tables at least looked very crispy and tasty.

A super lunch here today - two delicious pasta dishes, two beers, and an espresso, all for under €30 in a pleasant setting with sensible and friendly service. Not to mention two complimentary grappas! One of the best lunches we've had for ages, and we'll certainly be back when we visit Hanau another time.

The Italian food was very, very tasty at a fair price. The staff are very friendly. We sat on the terrace in summer time and it was very comfortably furnished. It took a while for our order to arrive, but it was relatively busy that day.
