I've eaten here several times now and I have to say that the food is simply excellent every time. The staff is always very polite, the prices are reasonable for the quality, and the atmosphere is quiet and pleasant. It will definitely remain one of my go-to restaurants where I can always go without being disappointed. Huge plus: dogs are very welcome —> 5 stars

"Update: I managed to stop in again by chance while passing through, and this time the food tasted like it used to. The little pizza balls would be better too, so I'm raising my rating to 4 stars." This visit was the first disappointing one in almost 30 years. The restaurant, the service, and the food all seemed neglected. When I walked in, I thought they were closed for summer break. The Rigatoni Speciali were bad; the pasta was probably overcooked, tasted mushy, sticky, and didn't absorb the sauce. The extra cheese on top was some kind of fine hard cheese, unappetizing and burnt. The panini, a complimentary appetizer, this time was filled with tomato mush; they used to be chunkier. The panini came in different sizes, some even huge; they used to be smaller and more uniform, and you could eat them in one bite. This time they were practically rolls. The service was more attentive and friendly on my previous visits, and paying took forever. It's a shame, as we traveled 2.5 hours specifically for the pasta and were then so disappointed. The three Rigatoni Speciali we took away were actually better.

We came here for dinner, and I'm already impressed. The ambiance invites you to linger for a while, not too much, not too little—very much my taste. The service is very fast, polite, and courteous. Drinks arrived quickly, and even when they were empty, they quickly asked if you wanted another. The menu is very extensive and varied; there are several vegan and gluten-free dishes, plenty of salads, and a generous selection of pasta and pizzas. The food is very tasty, fresh, and rather upscale—both in terms of taste and price. At the end of the day, everyone was satisfied and full, and it was a truly great evening. We'd gladly go back.

Vegan cheese and vegan cheese sauce! Awesome!!

Not recommended. The price/performance ratio is completely out of line. A 0.75l bottle of mineral water costs an outrageous €8.50. A 0.5l bottle of carbonated tap water costs €5.00. And then there are the pizzas: Pizza Parma for €16. A margarita base with four carelessly topped slices of Parma ham. The knife specifically designed for pizzas has a black plastic handle. The serrated blade is bent, making it of inferior quality. So, all in all, a 5, poor. Not recommended.

Ordered food for two, delivered hot, but completely inedible. In detail: Rigatoni partially burnt and completely overcooked, barely any ground meat in the sauce, and a strange smell. Pizza Margherita dripping with grease, dough like rubber, and an indefinably gray base. Salad was fresh, but the Italian dressing was slimy, brown, very salty, and sour. Never experienced anything like it – unbelievable.

Unfortunately, Taormina isn't what it used to be either—especially the service. I returned to Regensburg after a few years and was disappointed 😞 We waited a very long time for our food, especially for the kids' meal, which came last. Then the paninis were brought after the salad was already finished. They used to offer a small dessert on the house, but that seems to have been discontinued. All in all, the food was very tasty and plentiful, but at these prices, it still leaves a very bland aftertaste. What a shame 😒

I went to Taormina with my family and was unfortunately very disappointed. We were very nicely escorted to our table, but that was it. The lady in charge of us was unfortunately not particularly friendly. The dishes are completely overpriced, even by Regensburg standards. The carpaccio was barely noticeable among the mushrooms, and the pasta itself was, in my opinion, simply reheated. Tasted okay, but nothing more. The pizza was very good. Too bad...

We went there for the first time yesterday. It's generally a nice Italian restaurant with a large, varied menu. The service and the food are really good, but the prices are sometimes a bit jarring. A 0.7 liter bottle of water costs €8.50. Extra garlic on the pizza was charged at €3 per pizza, no words... But at the same time, the slice was under €5. The food itself, as I said, was of very good quality and tasted great. However, the pricing, especially for drinks, is a little hard to understand.

Small free appetizer, very good calzone and pizza!

Absolutely delicious. I had the grilled salmon with vegetables, and it was incredibly tasty. The espresso afterward was also fabulous. The ambiance was very pleasant, allowing for undisturbed conversation. The service was friendly, and dogs are very welcome. I'd be happy to go back.

I was very impressed with the food. It's not easy to find a pizzeria where you can order a wide variety of gluten-free dishes, and they're still so delicious and affordable.

Attentive service and very decent food

The three of us – three boys – went to eat at Taormina in Regensburg after playing tennis, as we often do. The salads, salami pizza, and diavola were very tasty, although the portions – as is often the case here – were rather small. Small but perfectly formed probably sums it up best. The beer was also decent, and the service was friendly and attentive, if not particularly outstanding. I've ordered from here several times and have been satisfied every time – the quality is consistently good, even for takeaways. The gluten-free options, including gluten-free pizza – which isn't often found in Regensburg – are particularly noteworthy. The lasagna and mussel dishes are also highly recommended. The location is good, and there's plenty of parking, which makes the whole experience very relaxed. One small criticism: The management – presumably two brothers – often come across as somewhat arrogant or aloof. This seems a bit out of place compared to the rest of the ambiance and slightly detracts from the otherwise positive overall impression. Conclusion: Taormina is a flavorful, rather upscale Italian restaurant with fine dishes, gluten-free options, and a pleasant location. If you can live with the small portions and the confident demeanor of the owners, you'll get solid Italian cuisine here—whether eat-in or via delivery.

You can order gluten-free pasta and pizza here 😃 I had gluten-free penne with asparagus, pesto, pine nuts, and sun-dried tomatoes 👌🏻 The price is a bit higher, but you get a very large portion. Super delicious, friendly staff, nice beer garden - everything was perfect 👍🏻

We've been to Guido's many times and have always been more than satisfied. Unfortunately, the service this time wasn't as great as we're used to. Drinks only on request, the table was only cleared after clear instructions and a 30-minute wait, and the ashtray wasn't even emptied - the staff prefer to chat. We're actually used to it differently... The food was, of course, amazing and as you'd expect.

Anyone who orders their favorite dish here always gets exactly the taste that they expect and are used to! What was ordered: Rigatoni Speciali and Linguine allo Scoglio and an Insalata Paesana! First there was an amuse-bouche in the form of small baked pizzas Balls with Sugo di Pomodoro! The service was very accommodating and the food was served quickly! We look forward to the next time! We happened upon this absolute insider tip from Frankfurt by chance. Everything was incredibly freshly prepared – from the pasta to the dessert. The flavors were intense, yet perfectly balanced – you can simply taste the love and quality that goes into the cooking here. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and authentic. If you love authentic Italian food, this is the place for you. 100% recommendation!

We haven't been to Taormina in a while, but it's always a great experience. The food is top-notch, and the chef helps out and even sings. The prices are just about reasonable: Rigatoni Chef, Pizza Taormina, Insalata Taormina, water, coffee, and wheat beer came to €62.

Ordered pizza to pick up. Smelled absolutely delicious. Unfortunately the pizza tastes really bad, I can't tell whether it's from the salami or the ham. Had to stop after a quarter of a pizza because I felt sick. It's a shame because it's very expensive.

We've been here many times. Super friendly service. Delicious food, and the gluten-free selection was a huge plus for us. The gluten-free pizza is very good. Very child-friendly. Beautiful restaurant. The best espresso for miles around. We love it there. It's always a bit of a vacation for us.

First of all, it's beautifully served. I think it's nice that you get these rolls. The pizzas are quite good, but I can recommend the curry noodles the most. They are very tasty!

Very good food and extremely friendly service!!

Ordered: Panini Aglio for pick up/take away When I arrived at the restaurant, the bag with 2 portions of Panini Aglio was placed on the pick-up table (in sub-zero temperatures). The small box that contained the paninis was open so that they could get nice and cold. When I paid, the service employee had to disappear for 3 minutes to get change while my paninis cooled outside. The garlic oil was provided separately in plastic bowls and had to be added to the paninis later. Since I only had the opportunity to eat outside where it was windy, the oil flew everywhere while I was eating. So the meal was an oily affair. And of course that was the only day I didn't have my tissue pack with me. Unfortunately there were no napkins in the pickup bag either. Wooden cutlery would have been good. 19€ for 2 portions of paninis was too much in my opinion. They didn't taste bad, but they weren't anything special either. €9.50 for a portion of panini is not justified, especially not under these circumstances.

Very tasty food and good service

Four of us had dinner in Taormina. We sat in the next room and were unfortunately "forgotten" there. Only when we asked did the waitress come and apologize that our order form had been lost (the food then came relatively quickly and was very tasty). We still waited a total of about 2 hours for it. Unfortunately, no one came to the waiting room and offered us drinks again. The compensation was: "We'll sort it out at the end." Ultimately we paid full price - no compensation. When we asked, the waitress told us that we had gotten a coffee on the house - although coffee was offered as compensation, there was no comment. One of the Medls even drank an espresso - but this was also charged! It's a shame - we were really looking forward to our rare medical evening. You don't often treat yourself to going to a more renowned restaurant, so we are very disappointed and won't be coming back.

Ordered 2 pizzas today. There is no indication of the diameter in the online ordering option, it is assumed that it was 32 cm, which was once common. For 1 Pizza Volcano (which cost €12.50 in June 2023, now €15.10, I was eating there once + took the card with me + found it by chance at home today) and 1 Pizza 4 Formaggi ( Price June 23: €11.50, today: €14) with the "generous" discount for self-collection of 5% over €27. I always wonder who would have paid 54 DM for 2 pizzas in the past 😉 The pizzas then had an incredible diameter of... *drum roll* ... 26 cm. I've never had such a small pizza. Most have larger diameters and cost less. But then there's the topping, if you want to call it that: super thin base and hardly any cheese on the 4 formaggi. Ukrainian pizza dough has probably become scarce since June 23, as every price increase is justified by the war and increased energy prices. A pizza now also falls under luxury. Where I come from, they call it a rip-off.

We had lunch with two business partners. As usual in the evening, the restaurant was full at lunchtime, which is certainly due to the inviting atmosphere and the high quality of the food. The service was friendly, the food was excellent, especially the perfectly prepared pasta carbonara, which was served with a fine, creamy sauce. I always find the greeting from the kitchen very nice. Our guests also felt very comfortable, especially because of the warm atmosphere, the attentive service and the stylish furnishings of the restaurant. The Taormina Regensburg is a fantastic restaurant and at the same time a true gem for lovers of Italian cuisine, offering it at the highest level! The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy, ideal for a relaxed meal. The Rigatoni Speciali are particularly recommended – they are simply delicious! The rigatoni is cooked to perfection and the sauce is rich and full of flavor, with fresh ingredients that make the dish a real treat. At the tennis club, the Taormina seems very simple at first, but inside it already has the typical Italian flair. It's clean and you feel comfortable so far. Staff friendly and attentive. Two stars deducted because my meal was very bland, very little shrimp in it and was simply too expensive for me. Appetizer plate also kept too simple, could be improved. Quantity was okay.

A really nice and good restaurant that is always very busy. Friendly staff, a cozy and relaxed atmosphere and really good, tasty food. Whether you're a pizza or pasta lover, you'll definitely find something here. As a person with celiac disease, I have to emphasize that almost all pasta and pizza dishes are also offered gluten-free, which is really not a given, thank you very much for that. The "ready meal boxes" are also great, many of which are gluten-free and are therefore ideal for a break or a meal uncomplicated, delicious food. Overall, a really good and nice restaurant that you'll enjoy visiting😊

Unfortunately extremely expensive! The cuisine is OK, but not the prices. The service was ok. Once upon a time there was a great restaurant a long time ago before the owners or management took off and prices shot through the roof.

Food was really overpriced to no end. Quality not good. We won't go there anymore. It's a shame because it used to be a really attractive restaurant.

We ordered 2 pizzas (Margherita and quattro formaggi) to pick up and a side salad and paid over €30. That would be fine in itself, but the pizza was really small, ready and at best the quality of a bad pizza delivery service. The price does not match the quality. I also pay that at L'Osteria in the city center and I get at least twice as much pizza there and of a much higher quality. The young woman on the phone was very friendly and the pizzas were ready quickly. It's a shame, but we won't be ordering pizza like that again.

We have always enjoyed going to Taormina for over 30 years. Nice, courteous staff, a little greeting from the kitchen and everything else is still perfect. However, I think that the price/performance ratio is no longer right. A salad with 1 olive and in the summer, when every retailer has the most amazing variety of salads, only offering iceberg lettuce for almost 20 euros is no longer okay in my opinion. In general, the dishes have become very expensive and the portions do not justify these prices. It's a shame, Taormina was our favorite Italian restaurant - hopefully it will be again.

There were three of us and I can say on behalf of my two companions that we were all a bit disappointed. The prices surprised us a lot; the price/performance ratio is no longer there. My lasagna was ok, but consisted mainly of pasta sheets and cheese. You had to look for the meat sauce. My two friends had salad with Parma ham (3 slices) and spaghetti with prawns (moderately enthusiastic). It's a shame, we all remembered the quality better. All in all, we won't be visiting this place again anytime soon.

One of the best gluten-free pizzas and the best gluten-free pizza in Regensburg. Have been there several times. Very friendly and fast staff. No long waiting times for the food. Nice atmosphere inside and outside on the terrace in summer. Reservations are highly recommended, especially on weekends! Also very tasty “normal” pizzas and pasta. Definitely always happy to come back!

We were there again today after a long time and were massively disappointed. There were hardly any tables occupied for a Friday evening. When we first looked at the map we were already thinking about going somewhere else. The prices are more like big city prices!! The service was very nice and the free panini as an appetizer were very tasty. We ordered two pizzas and were shocked at the size when they arrived. The size corresponds to a children's pizza in other Italian restaurants! The taste was okay, but not the yellow of the egg. All in all, a clear no-go when you consider the price-performance ratio. The prices are so exorbitant for the mini portions. The restaurant has a lot of potential but nothing is being done about it. Sorry, but we're not coming anymore!

Da wir in der Gegend zu tun hatten, wollten wir schnell in der Sport- / Tennisgaststätte "Taormina" in Regensburg Dürerstrasse essen. Bedienung / Empfang sehr nett, Ausstattung des Lokals Sportgaststätte. Ich habe vorher noch niemals Spaghetti Bolognese zu EUR 15,70 gegessen. Es waren kein Original Ragout wie in Bologna üblich, es war reines Schweinehack, das verarbeitet wurde. Grundkosten des Gerichts 100 gr Schweinehack, ein paar Nudeln, etwas Gewürz und Hugo = EUR 2,00 Einstandskosten. Warum der Eigentümer vom Taormina mit dem 7,5 fachen Kalkulationssatz arbeiten muss bei einem Grot- und Buttergericht wie Spaghetti al Rau erschliesst sich nicht. Eine 24 cm Pizza Napoli kostet EUR 14,00. Die Gerichte sind nicht schlecht, aber irgendwie hat der Eigentümer die Postleitzahl und die Hausnummer in die Preise der Gerichte mit eingerechnet.

We had pizza, pasta and a small salad. The base of the pizza was nice and thin and really crispy with a lot of toppings and flavor 👌🏼 The pasta was hot al forno and with the right amount of cheese. The only drawback from our point of view is the location, as it is located in the tennis club's sports hall. Otherwise really recommended 👍🏻

It is incredible that a restaurant of excellent quality has a waitress who does not show empathy towards customers. Maybe because they are foreigners? We were a group of 3 people and this lady offered us a table for 2. By the way, the day before I tried to make a reservation and they told me that it was not necessary. Finally the boss gives us a table for 4 and she showed her discontent. The restaurant offers some appetizers of pizza dough balls with tomato sauce, delicious. We asked another waitress if we could have more of this entree. The not at all pleasant waitress comes with an exorbitant amount of this entree, I told her, we didn't order this, she takes the plate and later comes back saying that they wouldn't charge us for this. Restaurant has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, this is not fully exploited. Food was very tasty and also sufficient. Prices are also on the higher side, but the quality is there. Unfortunately, some little things are missing, such as lemon in the water, a glass straw instead of a paper straw in an iced coffee, etc. Unfortunately I have to mention the gentleman from the service negatively: we waited at least 10 minutes before we were even allowed to order, even though there wasn't too much going on. The other table was even surprised that the bill was brought even though they wanted to stay! You really noticed that you were being thrown out! Therefore an overall rating of 3 stars. Now Taormina is becoming megalomaniacal…..the prices are no longer relevant…..and the food is just mediocre……no longer recommended.

You can also exaggerate the price increases: Pasta with pork fillet strips recently €14 - now €18 for a smaller quantity. Salad with tuna, egg, artichoke and panini €16. This definitely means: We only come on special occasions and no longer once a month. Update 5/2024: Became even more expensive :-(

I was there on April 15th. with my family there for dinner. The outside of the building wasn't particularly inviting, but the restaurant can't help it. That's why I don't rate it. Inside the restaurant is very nicely decorated. You can see that the operators and staff make an effort to create a pleasant atmosphere. It is modern but at the same time elegantly furnished. Our waitress was always friendly and had a smile on her face, and changes to the (children's) menu were no problem. I think it's particularly worth mentioning that the child's drink wasn't served ice cold. But it was just slightly cool. Of course it could have been a coincidence, but given the way the service staff behaved, I assume they were paying attention. It's not cheap anywhere anymore, but the portion sizes are appropriate for the price and absolutely delicious. We had the gnocchi gorgonzola, rigatoni? and a small heart-shaped pizza for the child. As a bonus, we got a scoop of ice cream on the house. It was a really nice evening.

I lost my breath when I saw the prices!!! In some cases up to 10 euros more expensive. Sorry, but in my opinion it's too expensive for an Italian who cooks normally and only uses a lot of cream and oil! For higher prices you also have to offer more. That doesn't work. Price performance is not right. Just usury! I'm not going in there anymore! But I've heard from many others that they don't go in anymore because of the prices.

The establishment looks very good and modern. We arrived without prior reservation on a Sunday around 6 pm and we got a table and service quickly. It is the first Italian restaurant where I order extra pineapple and I get a maximum of 5 pieces of pineapple but without any flavor. The waitress explained to me that they didn't taste like anything since they come in cans, I still ended up paying for that extra even though I had to remove the pineapple from the pizza and leave it all aside. What is the point of asking for an extra ingredient and that ingredient has no flavor whatsoever? After my little observation we ordered a dessert but it took a long time and it was just ice cream, I hope it wasn't because of the observation I made. Anyway, the overall experience was good and the pizza was delicious.

Our favorite Italian so far. But prices are now extremely high. Even if you pick it up yourself. We will reorient ourselves in the future. Very unfortunate
