I was on holiday in Dornumersiel for 6 days. I was in this beautiful restaurant for 4 days. Delicious food, great staff and just a nice ambience. They also came up with a little gift on my birthday that made me want to come back. At the end there was a delicious liqueur. Next time I'm in Dornumersiel, this will be my first stop.

Nice service, who also took loving care of the dog. The food was really tasty and the atmosphere outside was really nice. Everything was authentic and well-kept, inviting you to linger. Price and performance are absolutely the same. We weren't here for the first time, nor the last.

Pizza 🍕 was okay, but not overwhelming. Maybe it's because my brother-in-law owns a pizzeria and I'm spoiled. But due to the typos in the menu, I suspect that the owner is not Italian at all (chipolla 🤦). Atmosphere was pleasant, unfortunately we couldn't get a seat outside as it would have been more pleasant on a hot day. Therefore, always reserve in advance 👍.

We shelved our vegetarian principles based on a recommendation and are more than thrilled! The subsequent 'digestive liquor' definitely had to be suspended in order to retain the taste of the food (No. 103 and No. 104) for longer. We were on vacation at the North Sea two weeks ago and saw the pizzeria as we drove past... well, about the ambience, I thought it was too crammed with decorations... The service was very friendly, quick and tried very hard... except that when you sit down you are informed that the table will be reserved in 1.5 hours (next room completely empty) And now about the food... the taste was ok, but the portions are far too small. The pizzas are only as big as a frozen pizza and I just don't think that's appropriate for the price

I understand the 1 star rating. Reception was good, unfortunately no place on the terrace. But indoors was also good. Service very friendly. The atmosphere and decor are tasteful. We had a starter, minestrone soup and a baked potato with tzatziki. Great job! The starter had not yet dropped and the main course was already served. I think it was 2 minutes, way too fast anyway. We both had the combinazione, what a disappointment that was for a self-styled Italian restaurant. In a word, tasteless, a slab of melted plastic cheese on top of the dish, no parmesan or anything like that. No taste to define. We also indicated this to the waitress, she asked what she could pass on to the kitchen. Great response! Still given 2 stars, mainly because of the service and the design. It was a one-off that we got there.

Because of the many good reviews, we wanted to spend our last holiday evening there comfortably. We can't imagine how these good reviews come about. I would prefer to give 0 stars for the quality of the food. Since we didn't have a reservation and the restaurant was full inside and outside, we decided to wait until a table was available. After about 15 minutes we were shown to a free table in the restaurant. We noticed the somewhat old-fashioned furnishings, but it didn't bother us. After looking at the sticky, laminated menu, we were amazed to find such a large selection of Balkan dishes and fish dishes in a pizzeria. We ordered 2x crab soup as a starter and an oven-fresh flatbread. Plus 1x the recommended daily dish of lamb with mushrooms, 1x lasagna and 1x minced steak. The service was very friendly and the drinks came quickly. We waited almost 45 minutes for the soup and were told that the flatbread would be coming soon. Unfortunately, the crab soup was not crab soup, but a tomato soup with Arctic shrimp and a dollop of cream that was far too large. Very disappointing when you are right by the sea and there is crab soup on the menu. The flatbread didn't come at all. We continued to sit and wait. Guests at several tables complained about the long wait. We also noticed that a lot of dishes that were ordered to take away went over the counter. That probably also explains why the kitchen couldn't keep up with the food for the guests in the restaurant. After 1 hour we asked when our food would come and had the flatbread canceled. The waitress apologized for the long waiting time and justified it because the tables were full. The crowning glory was a kitchen employee who walked through the restaurant several times with a red, long, greasy apron with a black trash can and talked to the service staff with the bucket in his hand. After another 20 minutes our food arrived. The lamb was OK. The minced steak consisted of two 0.5 cm thick slabs that were so dry and salty that you couldn't eat them. But the highlight was the lasagna. I have never eaten such disgusting lasagna in my life. It tasted like absolutely nothing, the pasta sheets weren't cooked through, you had to look for tomato sauce with minced meat. Bechamel no available. What was that? Not recognizable. Weren't we in a pizzeria????????? Italian Ristorante????????? Conclusion: not recommended at all!!!

Minced steak was very thin, dry. It was definitely NOT a minced steak, rather as thin as a hamburger pellet. Fries were only a small portion.

Been there for the third time today. I'm still not sure if it was our last visit. After already waiting over an hour for the food, we asked for it. The waiter apologizes and says it won't be long. By that time, other guests who had come after us had already finished their food. The waiters generally became a bit restless and looked at all the orders in their blocks. I would guess that they were looking for our order and we were forgotten. About 15 minutes later the side salads arrived. Another 5 minutes later another waiter wanted to bring them to us again. After almost 90 minutes we were about to pay for our drinks and leave when the food arrived. The taste of the food wasn't bad, but unfortunately not everything was great because there was hair in the food. When we finally wanted to pay, we asked for a discount. The waiter said there was nothing to be done and apologized. Finally, after a while of drinking our drinks, we were given a bottle of liqueur. That's what the 2 star is for.

Everything in a nutshell: Only recommended if you are on vacation in the area or are looking for a nice evening for two. Will we come back on our next vacation? In any case :)

We visited the Santa Maria in Dornumersiel again. So far we have always been satisfied. However, questions arose as soon as the drinks were delivered. The cola was non-carbonated and very warm. Even a glass full of ice blocks could hardly lower the temperature. The carbonation was gone. Guess the glass had been sitting for some time. We ordered pasta with tuna, garlic and tomato cream sauce. You can imagine pasta falling apart, lost tuna that has been replaced by other fish, a touch of garlic and loveless tomato sauce from the ready-made package. No trace of the cream. The other meal consisted of a paper-thin schnitzel drowned in chunky tomato puree. The sauce should be paprika cream with paprika schnitzels. The fries that came with it were very chewy because they weren't cooked. There was also a salad that apparently ended up on the salad plate without being cleaned, cut into small pieces, and there was a noticeable crunching sound between the teeth. The final schnapps at the house's expense didn't help either. For around €39.00 outrageous. I rated the young man who was the waiter and the ambience a little higher. The food, however, could only be described as tourist food. They don't come there that often or only come once. I can no longer recommend the shop and I have the impression that although Italian cuisine is presented, there is actually a different nationality in the executive suite?

A nice pizzeria here in town. Unfortunately, when we arrived there were also a lot of other guests, so the waiter sometimes took a little longer, but that's OK. It's not fast food. We were there twice with the family and felt very comfortable. Very (child-)friendly service, there is a small play area for children and rocking animals in front of the restaurant. We felt very welcome, the food was delicious (pizza, pasta, salad) and the prices were reasonable. We'll definitely be back. My highlight was the pizzas and the warm service.

Wir waren heute Nachmittag zum was kleines Essen hier in der gemütlichen Pizzeria. Unsere Suppen Tomatensuppe und Krabben-Cremesuppe waren sehr lecker. Unsere Freunde hatten Pizza und Krautsalat und ihnen hat es auch sehr geschmeckt. Zur Rechnung gabs einen leckeren Marsala. Der Chef und das Personal waren überaus freundlich. Der Garten ist sehr einladend und innen sieht es auch so aus. Wir werden auf jedenfall dort nochmals Essen gehen während unseres Urlaubs.

We often go to Dornumersiel for a short vacation. Santa Maria is ALWAYS a must here. So far everything has been to our satisfaction and delicious. The service is always super nice and accommodating. You should book a table in advance during the season as it can get quite full. When it comes to food, I personally can only talk about the pizza, as I don't eat anything else :) But my companions here are rather variable. Unfortunately we were now disappointed with a dish. The lasagna we ordered didn't really have anything to do with lasagna. Little to no sauce. The taste is bland and not very seasoned. (Very disappointing) It looked as if they were “stretched” with tagliatelle. Not good at all in taste. Just hope it was a blip, because even if something wasn't right here, we'll continue to come by. Santa Maria is a must when you are in Dornumersiel.

Just arrived and spontaneously passed by a few days ago: unfortunately everything is occupied and fully booked. Well: seems great. Called spontaneously today at lunchtime and made a reservation for 7 p.m.: 3 adults and 1 child. Arrived shortly before 7 p.m., sat down and ordered. 2 pizzas, a fish dish and a children's plate. When ordering we were told it could take slightly longer. After almost 45 minutes we started to get impatient: all the neighboring tables came after us and already had their food and we asked nicely. Answer: since we ordered fish, it just takes a little longer. After 60 minutes we complained again and said we would be leaving in 10 minutes. 70 minutes is definitely too long: this restaurant is constantly fully booked and then I have to wait over an hour for a pangasius?!? Our food came after just under 15 minutes: waiting time for standard dishes on the menu more than 75 minutes with a hungry child: parents know what that means... By the way, our conclusion for the food after 75 minutes of waiting: Children's plate: Breaded schnitzel with fries (7.90): Frozen fries, slightly salty. Schnitzel flattened and cooked to death. Our junior only cleaned up because he was hungry Salami pizza: was ok, but not seasoned Pizza Santa Maria (14.30): absolutely oversalted and baked to death with cheese. The peppers were missing and the egg was forgotten. Bottom drawer! Pangasius fillet (16.60): Fried potatoes tasteless, the fish totally dry and not salted. The side salad was loveless: a few slices of cucumber, maybe 2 chopped tomatoes and some leaf lettuce. Dressing yogurt without flavor. We simply asked ourselves why we waited almost 1 1/2 hours for this meal and then paid 74.80 including drinks. A little joke at the end: I had forgotten my glasses at the table and when I went back at short notice I heard our waiter say to his colleague: "what little idiots". I'm really glad that I didn't tip a cent here as per my normal practice! Dear visitors and residents of Dornum: do yourself a favor and go to other restaurants!

Why only one star? Because we, with a child under 10, waited over an hour after taking the order until we said something (!). Even though we had reserved. Then the food came and that didn't compensate us for the long wait. Definitely never again. Not to take away either. Schnitzel without salt, mediocre pizza. In the end we just wanted to get out of there. I can't understand the many good reviews at all. The atmosphere is a bit kitschy, but that didn't bother us.

A very nicely decorated restaurant where the boss attaches great importance to a great ambience. My wife had the gyro plate and I had the rump steak with fries and salad. The steak was cooked to perfection and my wife was also thrilled. I recommend sitting outside and enjoying the fountain and flowers. I have to say the journey was worth it. Gladly again!

We ate there for the second time today with our child. The first time I would have given it an average of 4 stars, but today I'm really annoyed because it was our last day of vacation there, but let's get to the positive first. The outdoor area is cutely designed with lots of flowers and a beautiful fountain, the pizzas are good, yes there are better ones, but also much worse ones, the service is nice but unfortunately a bit forgetful, a glass of wine turned into half a liter, well it's gone gone, but still didn't have to be. And now for the annoying part, the glasses were dirty, we waited for over an hour for the food, the child got cranky and we got more and more annoyed, because even after asking, all that was said was "a lot of fish and meat was ordered together today."? Yes, the store was full, but it's always full! The grill plate wasn't to my taste and we waited another 30 minutes for the bill, so no one paid any attention to our table, especially since half of the guests had already left.

The food came quickly and was sufficient and tasty for us. (Tortellini Bolognese and lamb fillet with mushroom cream sauce). The small salad plate that many people criticize here is small and manageable, that's true. But also just a side dish and not a dish in its own right. So totally fine! The ambience is a bit overwhelming with all the details, but that's simply a matter of taste and fits in with the overall flair. If we were on vacation for longer, we would definitely come back again. PS: some people may only be used to fine dining and should therefore not eat in village restaurants. Lg.

Das Personal ist freundlich, das Restaurant ist von innen nicht mehr das frischeste. Aber das Essen ist noch nicht mal 80er Jahre. Dieses Schollenfilet ist einfach nur lieblos auf die Bratkartoffeln gelegt, serviert mit einer halben Zitronenscheibe und einer kleinen Gurkenscheibe. Auch der Salat ist nicht wirklich gut. Man bekommt den Eindruck das hier sehr gespart wird. Denn der Preis von 18 Euro ist nicht wirklich angemessen für dieses Gericht. Das bekomme ich für 15 Euro unten am Hafen günstiger. Allerdings schwimmt es im Fett. Aber auch 3,50 Euro für eine Cola 0,2ml ist zu teuer. Ware das erste und auch das letzte mal hier. Nur freundliches Personal macht ein gutes Restaurant nicht aus. Vorallen das Essen muss gut sein.

The table wasn't clean, drinks weren't well chilled, pizza wasn't cooked through (white, soft, limp dough), it was then put back in the oven..., pizza was still nothing special...I've eaten better ones. My husband was happy with the pasta dish.. We were full with starters. It's just not a gourmet temple. But the staff was very friendly and accommodating. There were apologies and finally 2Marsala...🍷🍷

We went there spontaneously for dinner last night. There is simply no better way to end a working week than with such delicious pizza, such a friendly host and such great, animal-loving service staff. A thoroughly successful evening.
