Great, thin pizza with high-quality toppings. Next time we're in the area, we'll definitely be back.

The pizza had very thin dough (a matter of taste, I prefer it fluffier), and the crust was practically nonexistent. If I hadn't ordered from a pizzeria, it could have been a frozen pizza. The taste wasn't great, and even the large size was far too small. It's a joke considering the price (over €20 for a Margherita and a ham and mushroom pizza); we weren't even full. I can't say much about the ambiance, etc., since we were picking up the pizzas. However, the pizzas were ready super fast, so 3 stars for service.

You immediately feel at home here! Super cozy, lovingly decorated, and the staff are simply lovely! Our dogs were also very welcome 🐶❤️ Only the pasta seemed a bit homesick for the sea. A touch too much salt 😄... but maybe the North Sea just tastes different! Nevertheless: an all-around lovely visit!

Unfortunately, it's not comparable to last year. Portions are smaller, the meat is far too fatty, and the pizzas are smaller. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend it. The staff is very friendly and attentive.

The restaurant's outdoor area is very unique and vibrantly decorated. Depending on the temperature, the tables there are also quite busy. A beach chair area serving as a smoking area is also particularly tasteful. The service was very friendly, pleasantly quick-witted, and attentive. Our pizzas were delicious and impressed with their generous toppings. A very generous pizza plus an Aperol Spritz = about €20 A price we were happy to pay and were completely satisfied...

We visited the restaurant today for the first time, but definitely not the last! We were greeted very warmly at the entrance and shown to our table. We each had an appetizer (my wife had tzatziki and I had a really good tomato soup) and the lamb fillet from the daily special for our main course. Both the quality and preparation were excellent. Whoever works in the kitchen knows their craft just as well as the waiter!!! We'd be happy to come back for dinner when we're in the area. UPDATE: We were there again today (09/17/25) and made the mistake of ordering a pizza and a lasagna at an Italian restaurant... The base of the pizza tasted like edible paper (there was no salt in the dough at all) and the texture around the edges was like crispbread. Towards the middle, the texture changed to that of peeled-off woodchip (at least, that's what I imagine woodchip to be like...). The topping was really good, but couldn't salvage the overall impression. The lasagna was edible, but no revelation. CONCLUSION: The lamb was really great; I haven't really tried Italian dishes before.

I'm really undecided about the rating: the service was super attentive, the menu is varied enough to cater to every taste, but that also makes it a bit confusing. We found the side salad to be truly uninspiring: green salad, a sliced ​​tomato, a bit of cucumber, and corn with dressing on a small plate. Neither beautifully presented nor a flavor highlight. No idea why it wasn't simply omitted. Main course: The plates were simply presented, and there was a small whole apple on the lettuce leaf. Why? The lamb fillets from the dike were super tasty, very tender, and didn't sound "hammy."

This is the third year in a row that we've been coming here during our vacation. It's a good idea to make a reservation for the evening, as it's almost always full :-) The food is great; we've tried everything from fish and meat to pasta dishes and always found them delicious. The waiters are all very friendly, but sometimes things seem a bit chaotic. For example, twice we only got one starter salad instead of two, and only after asking for the missing one were we given it. All in all, a good restaurant with friendly staff :-) We will be back.

The only thing that irritated us here, and seemingly throughout East Frisia, were the fried potatoes, which seem to be made from boiled potatoes instead of sliced ​​and diced. The staff was friendly and willing to help. I ordered the grilled meat. Sorry, but if you can't make tzatziki, they shouldn't offer it. It just tasted greasy and not garlicky, but it did have cucumber and spices, meh, in it. The pork schnitzel and fries were good, but the rice was completely overcooked and tasted terrible! The turkey was very dry. I've never had such a bad meal in a restaurant before. And then there was the apple as a side dish.

The Santa Maria restaurant is more of a "shipwreck" when it comes to service. I had to wait almost 45 minutes for our food because our order was simply forgotten by a server who was desperate to get off work! I only noticed this after repeatedly asking where our food was. As compensation, we were given a salad. However, we couldn't eat it because we hadn't been given cutlery. We felt a bit like we were being ripped off, or rather, a slapstick comedy act. Unfortunately, we were hungry and not in the mood to laugh! At least the food arrived, which was absolutely solid. To be fair, they offered a second drink on the house, which I had to suggest. Overall, not a great experience; we were unfortunately "shipwrecked" at the Santa Maria.

A glass of Lambrusco rounds off the culinary experience. An attentive, friendly, and understanding lady asks about our needs and whether everything is in order. Finally, a pleasant conversation about our satisfaction over an aperitif. What more could you want!? We felt very comfortable with you and would gladly come back. Well... that really wasn't a brilliant performance. We went to Santa Maria today based on the positive reviews. It was really crowded outside, but they offered us a table inside since we hadn't made a reservation. The ambiance was a bit "confusing"—Greek meets sea with a hint of Italy. The food lacked "flavor." Our daughter's tomato sauce wasn't a "tomato sauce" in the usual sense. It was made with cream. This should have been noted on the menu. The tortellini were dry and the sauce was very runny... The pizza seemed like it had jumped out of the pan. For the price of around €70, we were very disappointed and went home hungry... What a shame, because the service was really very attentive.

I don't understand the good reviews. The pizza was edible... The meat on the grill was gristly, and the schnitzel was just as greasy. It's a shame, really, because the pizzeria exudes so much charm from the outside. Dishes were served incorrectly, and some were forgotten...

We wanted coffee and cake. Upon asking, we were told there were three available cakes. We opted for two plum cakes and two cappuccinos. The cappuccino arrived quickly and was beautifully presented. After a reasonable amount of time, we asked for the plum cake. The answer was: "It's almost ready." After we had finished the cappuccino very slowly, two small pieces of cake with cream were served—not fresh cream, just whipped cream. Upon taking the first bite, we noticed that the cake was very warm. Upon taking the second bite, we noticed that the rest of the cake was still frozen. When I pointed this out to the junior manager, he simply said: "I'll take it off the bill." Not a word of apology! No substitution for another cake. That was it for us. Not recommended.

Very unprofessional!! For several years, we have been reserving a table for one evening with our two grandchildren at this restaurant near our vacation home. Based on previous experience, we were prepared for a long wait again yesterday. But this time, I reminded the waitress about our order after 45 minutes, after the food had been served at the neighboring tables that were occupied after us. After investigating in the kitchen area, the waitress informed us that our food was now in the kitchen. After another 15 minutes, we received our food, which we had ordered an hour earlier, with an apology from the waitress. The bill was presented to us in full. The waiter in charge of billing had previously had a lengthy conversation about football teams at the neighboring table. When I pointed out that there wasn't enough money for a tip, we were told that the restaurant was busy. In the coming years, we will visit other restaurants in the area.
