An absolute gem and by far the best Italian restaurant in town! The pizzas are fantastic, the pasta is superb (with a slightly German twist and lots of cream), the staff is amazing, and the owner is always on hand and so welcoming that you'd love to move in. 5 stars isn't enough. Highly recommended!

Today we were with 5 people in what is supposed to be the best pizzeria in Oberhausen. Once and never again. We sat at the table for almost an hour and none of the service staff even asked if we would like something to drink or whether we had placed an order. I had to go to the counter and ask if we could order something. After we finally got something to drink, the game continued with the food order. That again took forever. After we ordered everything, we sat there for another hour and nothing happened at all. Nobody even asked if we wanted something more to drink. I then went back to the counter and told them that if there wasn't any food in fifteen minutes, we'd go. Afterwards the food came immediately, but it was a disaster. A pizza was delivered incorrectly, it was pointed out and we were told, oh, it's not a big deal. The pasta dishes were cold and the pasta and tortellini were hard. So overall we cannot recommend this restaurant and we will never go there again. The whole evening was a disaster

Worst pizza I've ever eaten! I ordered there months ago and forgot to leave a review! Pizza was totally small and very burnt! It was also very expensive! That's why I never ordered there again!

Food OK but not outstanding, service leaves a lot to be desired. We were there with 5 adults and 4 children (Saturday evening 19oo, we had reserved. Unfortunately, even for a Saturday evening, everything took forever, drinks were only taken after 35/40 minutes and only arrived when we had already been sitting at the table for an hour. We were asked three times whether drinks had already been taken (which we said no), but the colleagues who were supposed to come never came and in the end someone else took our drinks order. Children's meals were specially ordered with the request that they be received as early as possible, as the children were now really exhausted and becoming impatient (pasta without everything arrived (about 30 minutes after ordering), but children's pizza did not and only after the adults' food had been brought and there was also renewed demand. There were counted pizza rolls (free to the house, but the smaller children would not be counted) In the adult menu, a pizza was also delivered incorrectly. (We ordered 2 pizzas, 1 pasta dish, 1x salad + children, 2x pasta without sauce and 1x children's pizza salami). We didn't ask for any further drinks or requests; the second round of drinks only came after we were asked several times that we would like to order something more to drink. We got the food about 1:30 1:45 minutes after we sat down at our table and the adult dishes were not delivered at the same time. The food was OK but not great either. Our pizza delivery service around the corner delivers similar quality pizzas and salads. Only the pasta dish stood out (gambas) Unfortunately, the payment process took forever, so we ended up going to the checkout ourselves to pay because no one else came to collect. But the prices for pizzas are completely ok. Drinks, however, at €6 for a large cola or €7 for a 0.75 liter bottle of water, are above the average prices at, for example, the CentrO Promenade or Duisburg's inner harbor. Maybe I just had a bad evening but I don't want to try it again at the moment

We ordered several pasta dishes and everything was very good. The place is cozy but the style is too German. When there are many people it is a bit noisy. In short, a highly recommended place to enjoy good Italian cuisine

Food was appropriate for the price, although the bruscetta was more basic without anything special, the pasta was good, meat was ok, sauce was good. However, the service was a disaster, endless waiting, empty glasses and plates left at the table for too long. The staff kept walking around the room with just a plate, you had to actively ask again and again instead of being asked about a new drink etc. yourself. The service and the ambience are completely chaotic, more old-fashioned than 80 years old, just not nice, rather cool, which one could have easily overlooked with good service.

Yes, this is the second time I've come here and the last time I never came in again. I said quite normally we wanted to eat. The gentleman showed me the place where we should sit. Then they spoke something in Italian that I didn't understand Luckily my Italian friend was with me and he told me everything Did I notice that they said... Of course you can eat here or do you think we are playing cards here, how can you be so rude and talk to the customers like that because of us you make money here? I'm really very disappointed...

Mega delicious food, great pizza. For me the best pizzeria in Oberhausen. The Italian owners are super friendly and always look after their guests and always have a kind word.

The pizza was very tasty again, the atmosphere was like decades ago, but very well attended. There is parking on the other side of the street... it says private in red on the ground, but there are parking spaces for the pizzeria with signs on the right.

We were with a group of seven women and had a delicious meal. We can only recommend it, the staff was super friendly and we will be back

A very friendly run family business with very warm people and great food. We have always had a great time at Salvatore's for 12 years. Especially in the summer in the beautiful beer garden.

We started eating pizza here 49 years ago. It's always nice to come back here. The pizza is still the tastiest and the atmosphere is cozy and the staff is nice, Italian and has been there for a long time. It's always special for us to eat there since we don't live nearby anymore.

My pizza was okay and well topped, although with a high crust; 1. The waiter was unfortunately not fluent in German and misunderstood two things and wrote them down; Salads stood open for a long time on the walkway in the middle of the restaurant; anyone could have coughed, spit or simply passed on viruses on them; A salad was supposed to come with French dressing, but it was vinegar/oil, after a complaint, French dressing was simply put on top without making a new salad, so vinegar/oil was still underneath Unfortunately, not an ideal restaurant visit

Spontaneously walked in to have some lunch. We were received very friendly and where we wanted to sit was entirely up to us. We ordered a prociutto pizza and a calzone with 2 cokes from the normal menu and what we paid was only €29 🤯 And we had a delicious meal!

We had lunch outside on the terrace. Seafood spaghetti and Napoli pizza. As always, the welcome was very warm and the drink order was taken straight away, which was really good given the summer weather. The menu offers something for everyone, definitely try it out. The food came after a short wait as there was a party and other guests there. So here's a better compliment to the kitchen. The food was good and plentiful.

After eating the tuna pizza, I had food poisoning. The tuna didn't look that appetizing on the pizza. Apparently the tuna was bad. I suddenly had swollen lips, as if I had had them injected. I also felt sick and had a headache. After I was in the hospital it was determined that it was histamine poisoning caused by the tuna. Unfortunately I don't recommend this store.

I enjoyed going to this restaurant a few years ago. But what was offered to me this time can hardly be described in words! As a starter, 2 pizza rolls that were hard on the bones and could have been used better as projectiles. The pizza was no different. The same game and totally burned! I am extremely sad and disappointed!

I can't understand all the positive reviews about the "tasty" food. I like it a little saltier, but the pizza and the previous pizza bread were completely over salted. Plus the size! A pizza from a tray, which you can get at the BahnhofsImbiss for EUR 3, is definitely bigger. With the delivery service, something like this isn't even considered a "small" pizza. And for something like that just under 10 euros. An impudence!

When I was one year old, I moved with my parents from Oberhausen near Cologne and yet every time it feels like "coming home" again. My mother ate here during her training almost 3 decades ago and we come back every time we visit Oberhausen. The staff is loving and accommodating and the pizzas are unique :) Looking forward to many more visits!

On my birthday on March 23rd, 2024, the three of us had dinner in your house as a family. My husband's family has been coming for 30 years now (always very satisfied). Unfortunately this time it wasn't like that. The service was terrible, no one asked about drinks or whether the food was tasty. The pizza without any taste. The pizza rolls were cold and inedible (when we asked, we only got warmed ones, which didn't taste good either). We are very disappointed and wonder whether we will come again. Rather not. Not when the same waiter still works there.

Cozy, familiar, delicious, fits!

An exceptionally good restaurant! We were there by chance on a Sunday around lunchtime. The food, especially the pizza, was excellent. We have raved about it several times and I maintain that I have never had such good pizza anywhere in Germany. The service was also very friendly and accommodating. We didn't wait long for the food and drinks. The price-performance ratio was also absolutely good. We found the atmosphere very comfortable. We had the feeling we were coming to a family restaurant in "the good old days". As if nothing has changed in decades (and that's a good thing). It was a very nice experience.

For a run-of-the-mill pizza. 12.90 euros quite expensive. You can get it better and cheaper elsewhere.

Pizza and tiramisu very tasty. I have to advise against the pasta dishes. My tortellini were undercooked and the sauce tasted like it was packaged. At least my daughter's cannelloni were still edible. Lasagna is a gratinated mush. I expect Italians to be able to do that. I've known the restaurant for over 30 years and unfortunately the pasta dishes have always been a problem

My Husband and I came for lunch, the 2 waitress were very delightful and amiable. One of waitress were very patiently with me who still speak limited Deutsch. Lovely for couples, family with kids.

Pizza was really good, base was made fresh and could tell it was cooked authenticity. It was fairly busy and the service could have been a bit quicker, probably missed out on a extra round of drinks due to this.
