Ristorante Pizzeria Re Castello Mainz in Mainz

Ordered online at 7:30 PM, and at 9:18 PM the food still hadn't arrived! Two hours! Waiting for two pizzas??? After an hour, I called, and they said the pizza was in the oven and on its way... a blatant lie. I still waited another hour! The pizza is okay, but definitely not worth a two-hour wait. A little tip for the restaurant: Please stop accepting orders when it's too busy. It would save you from angry customers and bad reviews. I won't be ordering from there again. My evening was ruined, unfortunately... "Thanks" for that...

Super nice staff, great food, family and child friendly, also very good for family celebrations, I can only recommend it. The pizzas were very crispy and the pasta and appetizers were also very freshly prepared and delicious.

I only had a light dinner here, but I enjoyed the food. The waitress was friendly, and the price was quite reasonable. The restaurant was clean, even though it was almost closing time. I'd say it's a good restaurant for a quick meal.

Ordered couple of pizza online and added an extra topping ( artichokes) once I got the pizza they looked good..so had to go for the first bite, the artichokes were so bad and so hard to chew ..it was impossible to swallow. I dont think I will order again

I ordered an anchovy pizza on Thursday and have been in bed ever since with the worst stomach bug of my life. That's just not acceptable, not even remotely – especially not at almost €18 for the pizza.

We stumbled upon this pizzeria by chance, right in the heart of the train station district. The pizzas were delicious and well-topped. The service was very pleasant and friendly. The wait time was short. I highly recommend this restaurant/pizzeria.

Two of us ate here. The pizzas were delicious, and the staff were consistently friendly. The clientele was a diverse mix: young, old, and students. The ambiance was exactly what you'd expect from a small pizzeria: simply wonderful. We had a lovely evening there!

The food didn't seem homemade. The taste was okay, fitting the atmosphere of being right next to the train station. Those passing through should check the dining times. A positive aspect is that you can easily people-watch here (if you like). And the young waitress was attentive, at least.

Re Castello has good pizza. Re Castello has good pasta. But the pollo salad is truly special. Even for me, a salad hater. And the tiramisu is always good.

The restaurant had just opened, and we were the first guests. We spontaneously chose a table we liked—a mistake, as it turned out: "There are only two of you, this table is for four." Etiquette seems to be strictly observed here. Particularly charming was the notice that using the restroom is only permitted after placing an order—control is clearly a top priority here. It's a shame that the understanding of hospitality has been somewhat lost in this lovely restaurant. We decided to leave the restaurant again—so as not to stand in the way of the empty tables.

We visited the restaurant right after it opened – the dining room was completely empty. We wanted to choose our own table, but were asked to move because the table was "intended for four people," and there were only two of us. Given the empty tables, this rule seemed rather incomprehensible. We were also informed that the restrooms could only be used after a reservation had been placed. As guests, we unfortunately did not feel welcome. It's a shame – the ambiance is pleasant, but the way the guests were treated left something to be desired.

Pizza is delicious. Jumbo upgrade is actually a good deal for two people. Staff is super friendly I always feel welcome.

I was there for the first time, but certainly not the last. The pizza was excellent as was the salad. The service was very friendly and you really felt very familiar, even though you didn't know each other - that's how good service should work! And the prices are absolutely right too!

My wife ate pasta carbonara and tartufo. I ate spaghetti bolognese and crème catalana. The pasta carbonara was a bit creamy. Tartufo is just a Tk product. Of course it's not the original one from Pizzo because it has a liquid core. Aber ist okay. Spaghetti Bolognese was delicious. Creme Catalana arrived warm in a casserole dish. However, I didn't like it quite as much. The consistency wasn't my thing. We will come back next time we visit Mainz and try the pizzas.

Recommended for those who like fresh pizza and Italian food.

One of the best calzones I've eaten in a long time. The staff were super friendly, even though they were closing so close. They still let us order. We really enjoyed the evening. The price/performance ratio was also excellent. We'd be happy to come back if we're ever in Mainz again. Highly recommended.

You can not beat the price for the location, quality, and quantity of food at this place. I had the Pasta Re Castello, and it's highly recommended!

Pizza tastes decent and is a reasonable size. Price-performance fits. The ambience is functional, but nothing more: quite loud, "busy" and overall not very inviting to linger for a long time. Seems to be geared more towards delivery service.

The pizzeria is very centrally located, right in front of the main train station. The preparation is very quick and the service is friendly. In terms of taste, the pizza is highly recommended. Due to its central location, the pizzeria is also suitable for pick-up. Price/performance is right. There is good Pilsner on tap.

I just had a really delicious Margherita with garlic oil - the dough was perfectly crispy and the garlic oil gave the whole thing a great flavor. The service was super friendly and attentive. I ordered 2 pizzas, the service was fast. Everything was good, the dough and the pizza oven did the job. Lots of confusion due to home orders, but that means I like the pizza. I would make a special corner for pizza delivery people. I recommend

I made an online order to pick up, which consisted of a pizza Funghi and a garlic bread. I missed some taste in the pizza although the crust was really good to be honest. But there was a lack of seasonings in the toppings in my opinion. Unfortunately the garlic on the garlic bread was burnt as well, so that I had a mediocre taste experience only.

Very tasty, we ordered pizza Diavolo and Calzone, it tasted great, I can only recommend it. The price is reasonable and people are nice. I'm very strict with the ratings, but it has to be 10/10

Super nice staff, delicious food and the ambience was also good.

I ordered aglio olio (11.50 euros). Perhaps because of the Cheongyang peppers, it was very spicy (it was the spiciest food I had in Europe)! Recommended if you like spicy food!! The quantity was quite large. Card payment was possible!

We were there on a football weekend after a game and it was a very pleasant atmosphere. The breakfast room of the neighboring hotel is used in the evening, so it is very quiet and cozy to eat there! The portion is large and the food tastes very good!

An exceptional culinary experience.

When we discovered it by chance, we were initially a bit concerned about the proximity to the main station. Afterwards we were really excited. Very tasty food (pizza, pasta) at fair prices, a good atmosphere and very friendly staff. Top!!!

I have been a customer for many years and always enjoy eating there. Unfortunately it was so incredibly loud there that it was impossible to understand what he was saying. Even though I know that an innkeeper doesn't choose his guests - it has to be possible to communicate without shouting, without your eardrums bursting. This is a restaurant and not a corner bar. I think mutual consideration wouldn't have hurt here. So unfortunately it was an unpleasant evening. The food was delicious as always.

Getting steadily worse in the last few months. Unfortunately the store got worse and worse; a year ago I gave it 5 stars.

Leckeres Essen, aber Gespräche aufgrund massiver Geräuschkulisse unmöglich. Als langjähriger Gast habe ich das Lokal steht wegen des guten Essens geschätzt. Leider habe ich heute die Erfahrung gemacht, dass leider andere Gäste keinerlei Rücksicht auf andere Gäste nehmen. Die Lautstärke war so laut, dass man sein gegenüber nicht verstehen konnte. Wenn ich in einem Nachtclub wäre oder einer Bar, könnte ich es verstehen, aber nicht in einem Restaurant. Die Reaktion des Personals, man solle doch die jungen Leute verstehen, halte ich für gelinde gesagt das Kunden unfreundlichste was ich je als zahlender Kunde gehört habe. Eine derartige Geräuschkulisse passt an einen Flughafen, Nachtclub oder Bar, aber nicht in ein Restaurant. Das Essen ist lecker, wer aber sich gerne mit seinem gegenüber unterhält, findet bessere Plätze in Mainz. Schade.

Wir sind auf der Rückreise aus dem Urlaub mit dem Wohnmobil aufgrund einer Empfehlung des Platzwartes hie zum Abendessen gewesen. Nettes Ambiente, freundliche Bedienung und eine abwechslungsreiche Speisekarte. Günstige (fast zu günstige) Preise, schmackhaftes Essen auf passendem Geschirr wurde richtig temperiert serviert. Der Chef kam persönlich an den Tisch und bedankte sich für unsere Bewertung. Hierher würden wir jederzeit wieder essen gehen! Empfelhung!!!

Located directly at Mainz main train station, you will find peace and comfort at Re Castello. Yesterday at 5 p.m. we found a great place to sit outside 😃. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive. A large selection of pizzas and pasta dishes were on the menu. Also delicious starters and desserts. The food was good - compromises with the balsamic salad dressing. Pasta with seafood and the various pizzas tasted good. The cappuccino and espresso taste great. My personal highlight: the tomato soup 🍅 (fresh pizza bread was served with it).

The pizza should have stayed in the oven for another 2 minutes. The taste was bland, or rather the tomato sauce, which tastes fruity and tomato, is very dominant compared to the topping. Unfortunately a bit disappointing...

If you don't want 0 8 15 pizza, this is the place for you. Something different than the standard pizza from the Italian restaurant next door.

This is a cute Italian place near our hotel. It has indoor and outdoor seating, we chose inside because it was a cool evening. I ordered the ravioli, my husband ordered the carbonara and both were excellent; tasty with good sized portions, reasonably priced and nicely served. Our table was near the window so we sat and people-watched while we finished our drinks. Overall it was very enjoyable.

The place was wonderful and me and my friends enjoyed it. It was also quiet, behavior was good and the food there was delicious. I would like to visit this place again if I can.

I have eaten in hundreds of pizzerias and have never had such a good topping and absolutely amazing dough as here. When it comes to the salad, we want to start with the grapefruit syrup as a garnish, so we don't need any more dressing. Personally, I cannot recommend any other pizzeria in the Rhine Main area, not even in a large area. Ordered for the first time today and won't order anywhere else. The pizza/calzone was delicious...can't complain! The staff was also nice, despite being under a lot of stress because so many orders had to be processed. Only the ambience is not really recommended...but then you just order :)

Wanted to order here for the first time... Apart from the fact that an order by telephone is dictated by the background because apparently the person answering the phone is not able to handle a telephone conversation... One order, 1x pizza + salad and drink Apparently it's not enough for delivery... But if you order online on the homepage, you won't find any indication of a minimum order!? That explains the professionalism... And if you bake the pizzas here the way you treat the customers, then I'm glad I ordered somewhere else! Thank you!!

They didn't work much on the decor, but the lamps are fun. on Saturday at 12 noon the only visitors were me and one other client, as far as I understand they often order food by delivery. menu for a Russian-speaking tourist with a high school level of English - no pictures) but not very complicated, with the help of the staff we quickly sorted out the order: margarita, tiramisu for dessert, and coffee. I was completely satisfied - the pizza was a level better than what I tried before, the tiramisu was also good - airy cream, not a hint of heaviness. The coffee turned out as if they had read my thoughts - I don’t like boiling water, and it just didn’t burn, it was just the temperature I needed), although for those who are used to very hot drinks, it will look cold. I left the establishment thinking that I would be glad to come here again.

After more than 2 hours of waiting, still no delivery received and no one is answering the phone. It has already been paid for via PayPal. That was probably €55 for the bin.

Ich habe eine „Calzone“ bestellt: Die Tomatensauce war nicht vorhanden oder kaum und der Käse drinnen schmeckte wie ein billiger Schmelzkäse. Außerdem kein Salz, kein Basilikum und kein Öl. Es war 0 Genuss und das auch noch für 10 Euro!

Assozialstes pack dass ich bis jetzt kennenlernen durfte, leider kenne ich den Namen der Dame nicht sonst würde ich mich beschweren

Die Pizzen sind einfach super! Größer als bei anderen Pizzerien. Die Bedienung ist immer sehr freundlich! Das Essen schmeckt wirklich gut. Einziger Minuspunkt- Doe Käseplatte als Vorspeise. Für 8€ bekommt man lediglich Scheibenkäse aus der Packung in Form geschnitten... Schade.

Wir waren im Hotel Königshof nebenan. Zwei Mal waren wir hier essen. Was soll ich sagen? 5 Sterne!!! Tolles Essen, Pasta, Pizza und das Panna Cotta ein Traum! Und das beurteilen wir als Liebhaber der italienischen Küche! Service sehr nett und zuvorkommend, sehr gerne wieder ❤️❤️❤️

Über Lieferando bestellt, pünktlich gekommen und sehr schmackhaft gutes Preis leistungs Verhältnis. Aber bitte bei Thunfisch Pizza Zwiebeln mehr durchbraten. Anmerkung: Warum heißt die eine Pizza Groß und die andere Jumbo? Bisschen nervig war vor Ort und wollte eigentlich die größte Größe habe dann groß bekommen. Aber eben nicht Jumbo, obwohl ich das eigentlich wollte. Naja Kommunikationsfehler, dennoch nervig.

Beste Pizza in Mainz, immer super schnell beim Abholen oder Liefern. Einziges Manko: Leider nur wenige vegetarische Optionen. Ein paar mehr Nudel- und Pizzagerichte ohne Fleisch auf der Karte wären super! :)
