Ristorante Pizzeria Portofino in Sassnitz

We went to the SAIL GP, and it was very busy and well attended. Great food, a lovely atmosphere, and friendly staff. We'll definitely be back next time 🙂

Unfortunately, one of the worst restaurant visits I've ever had. There were four of us there, and we all originally wanted pizza – but they were completely out of pizza. Two of us didn't order anything at all. I had the carbonara and my friend had the lasagna. Unfortunately, the meal was a complete disaster: The carbonara was completely tasteless, almost as if it had been diluted with water, and the lasagna was also disappointing. Very disappointing – next time we'll go for fish or another Italian restaurant.

We were there today, but unfortunately, no one seemed to care. After 20 minutes, we left without a single server coming by. This affected not only us but also several other guests at different tables.

Seating by the harbor, packed to the rafters last night. Nevertheless, the service was friendly with genuine Italian charm. The food was delicious and worth the money.

Delicious ice cream sundae with fresh fruit

€40 for four ice cream bars. Well, it's a vacation, but then you can't get the order right and then blame it on your colleagues. If I don't speak the local language and don't have a good grasp of English, I just can't work in service.

Very friendly service and super delicious food. The pizza is homemade and delicious. Dining with a view directly onto the water is breathtaking.

The service was very friendly, the food was excellent, and our little ones were looked after very kindly. 🤗 The toilet seats could use replacing, but they were clean! That's really the only thing! Otherwise, it was very nice.

2 stars because overall it was so-so. The ice cream portions were quite small, but too expensive. The staff was nice until it came to paying and I didn't leave a tip (I paid with a card). I was asked if I wanted to tip. When I said no, the waiter was visibly annoyed. All I got was a rude goodbye.

The portions were ample to generous and very tasty. There was a bit of confusion with the ordering, but special requests were no problem. It was a bit noisy inside, but conversation was just about possible. We would come again, but next time we'll reserve a table outside.

Located right on the harbor, with plenty of outdoor seating and delicious, freshly prepared, generous portions. 15-minute wait for food. Highly recommended.

A 0.5-liter draft beer costs €5.90, and two other types, such as dark beer, cost €7.10. I find that quite expensive!

Great location by the harbor. Service is nice, fast, and friendly. Unfortunately, it's overpriced: a banana baker with two scoops of ice cream and cream and maybe six small pieces of banana for over €9. Bordering on rip-off. And then they're unfriendly when there's no tip. Not recommended, sorry.

Unfortunately, you can't give 0 stars, so I'll give it 1 star. We sat there for half an hour without even being able to place our order. No attention, no eye contact, nothing. No response to signals or messages. Impossible, never going there again.

Very good Italian! Friendly, attentive, and fast staff. Very good value for money. The restaurant was very busy. We didn't have a reservation, but we were still served courteously and quickly. The menu is relatively extensive. The food arrived after a reasonable wait. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the food, considering the reasonable prices. We were there for coffee and cake... it was very good and good value for money. You also have to remember where you're sitting... this is right on the harbor and not just some backyard cafe/restaurant!

Unfortunately, I have to revise my 5-star review from 2019. The ice cream was really delicious back then. We were here again yesterday – and were unfortunately very disappointed. The hefty price of €2 per scoop is completely unjustified in our opinion. We had a total of six scoops, but each one tasted 90% watery. It's a shame that they're now clearly skimping on quality. We won't be coming back for ice cream. 2019: We treated ourselves to some delicious ice cream here. It was simply delicious, and the staff is very, very friendly. We'll be back. :)

Beautifully located on Sassnitz harbor with a fantastic view of the water. The service was very attentive and friendly. The food was truly excellent. Huge selection, something for everyone.

After a friendly young lady showed us our seats, the waiter arrived, visibly in a bad mood! His gruff manner was rude! He constantly mixed up the food and drinks. The food was mediocre! What a shame. I actually love Italian cuisine. I was disappointed here. My digestive system tells me I'm right.

The food looked better than it tasted, very fatty and underseasoned (the fish). We didn't get any seasoning ☹️ The beer was also undrinkable because it tasted like runny nose. Instead of fish soup, I got frutti di mare. The service was rather unfriendly, except for the young waitresses. So, I honestly don't recommend it.

It's worth reading the review. The waiter, an Italian, actually tries to be ironic, but he fails. In Poland, he'd get paid... He's demanding tips!!! He ruins the atmosphere of the Baltic Seaside restaurant. He ruins the atmosphere of the food. Many comments mentioned this. As soon as we sat down, I told my wife, after reading the reviews, that we'd be meeting an Italian. Bam! He has a tendency to be impertinent; in his opinion, it's supposedly professionalism, but only in his way of thinking. He's completely unsuccessful. He ruined the atmosphere. The food is so-so. Forcing tips is a disgrace. Rating: 1!!!! By the waiter! Avoid!!!

We had Margherita, four cheeses, and minestrone. The soup was okay, the pizzas were amazing! The crust was 100% delicious, delicious! A crust that couldn't be better. Super friendly and fast service despite the high season. Moderate prices, including a view of the harbor. Conclusion: Recommended! The ambiance is a bit dated, but okay.

We went to the restaurant today for lunch and I'm still angry. We ordered 5 drinks. All of them small. When we saw the large beer, I said we'd ordered a small beer. The waiter just laughed and didn't take it seriously. I only noticed afterwards that the other drinks were also large. Since they were only 0.4 and not 0.5, I thought they might have been small after all. So that's a way to improve your cash flow. In my opinion, that's completely unacceptable. Still water costs the same as Sprite there and is more expensive than beer. Since children often only drink water, I don't find it very child-friendly. The toilets aren't very pleasant. The food was okay to good.

The pizzas are absolutely fantastic and always more than satisfying. Highly recommended for taste, great products, and the service is always friendly and attentive. Only a few umbrellas outside could use a general overhaul here and there. But the delicious food is the main thing :)

Very, very bad food, never again. Not recommended. Better move on. I ordered cod with fried potatoes. The fish was very small but good. The fried potatoes were bad, not crispy, and swimming in fat. I ordered a shandy, and what came was something that wasn't mixed properly. The place is dingy and dirty, the tables weren't wiped down.

Unfortunately, my family and I had a bad experience at this restaurant. The food wasn't worth the price. Unfortunately, the food wasn't to our taste either! The wrong dishes were brought to our table, and the menus generally didn't look clean.

Highly recommended. The pizzas were delicious, the salad was wonderful with ingredients like fresh fennel, balsamic pickled onions, and celery in addition to the standard vegetables, and the kids' dish (fish fingers with fries) was solid and well-prepared. Great service – fast, friendly, and special requests were no problem. The shop itself is kid-friendly. We followed a local's recommendation and were not disappointed. Thank you :)

We discovered this fantastic restaurant while on vacation there. It was so great that we ate there twice. Superb food, very friendly service, and right on the harbor. Highly recommended. Update: During our vacation this year (2025) on Rügen, a visit here was a must. And we were not disappointed. The food was once again delicious and the service was very friendly. We also know that when we vacation on Rügen again, we'll go/drive here to eat again 👌🤗

Very good Italian restaurant. The food always tastes great, the location is fantastic, and the staff is quick and friendly. Nothing to complain about! Keep it up. The catering at the Glasbahnhof was also top-notch 👍.

Unfortunately, our visit didn't completely convince us. The fish was okay, but nothing special – the same goes for the spaghetti, which was unfortunately far from al dente. The fried potatoes seemed like convenience food and didn't really impress us in terms of flavor. Perhaps we should have just ordered pizza – at least other guests' pizza looked pretty good. Overall, it was rather mediocre.

A very child-friendly restaurant with very friendly staff and service. All the dishes were excellent and the value for money was absolutely perfect.

I came here spontaneously and received a very friendly welcome and service. The food was absolutely fantastic! I had the sea bass on recommendation, which was absolutely delicious. The chef (Mimmo) is an entertaining and super nice person. I'll be back in August and am already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you for your hospitality. Christian

We were there today. Two people and a dog...wait a minute...no problem, in 3 minutes. The food, including Italian-style rump steak, was top-notch, and the whole thing was very reasonably priced. We ate here 10 years ago, and it was perhaps even a bit better than it was then. If we sail east again, it will definitely be a destination.

We enjoyed the hair in a waffle and the warm beer the most. The only disappointment was the ice-cold non-alcoholic beer.

I had dinner there with my husband last night. The service was very friendly and cheerful. The setting is right on the harbor, and you have a lovely view when you sit outside. The food: I had bruschetta and a Frutti di Mare pizza. The pizza was a normal size, the crust was just perfect—not too thin—and there was plenty of topping. The price was very reasonable for a tourist area. I will be back.

Gastronomy as it should be ideal. We followed Francesco's tip and ordered the freshly caught sea bream. It came with various small side dishes. A dream. This is what vacation should be like – personal and loving. Thank you Francesco 😘

Differences between outside and inside, orders are not taken correctly, discussions are made with guests when questions arise. Tables are not fully set, so as a guest you have to collect spices, parmesan and blankets for sitting outside. The interaction among the staff was not particularly friendly, which led to a tense atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food had to be very heavily salted because it hardly tasted like anything. The attention to detail was missing. Food came quickly, unfortunately fast doesn't always mean good. Pizza is delicious though. I would no longer visit this restaurant, despite its direct location on the harbor basin, because the price-performance ratio is not right.

The pizzas are highly recommended. We only had to wait a maximum of 15 minutes for our food - even though the shop was packed. Super nice staff and really very attentive. Children are welcome guests - rarely have we visited such a child-friendly restaurant.

I was just there to buy some ice cream. The prices are now incredibly high. 2€ for a scoop of ice cream. In addition, the ice cream tasted too “artificial”.

Very nice service and a short wait for the food (but it wasn't busy at the moment). The food was good, but there's still something wrong. But it's also a matter of taste. Overall, we can recommend the pizzaria! Service prefers cash payment(!)

I regret to say that the waiter was not honest. He put coffee on the bill and there was a drink. He overpriced the pizza by €2. When paying by card, he charged a higher price, which ultimately resulted in €5 more.

We felt very comfortable. The food was very good, the service friendly and attentive. The wines were well explained. Main course, Pizza Diabolo and baked pasta with broccoli...... impeccable. The extra request for garlic on the pizza was fulfilled with a small bowl of olive oil with fresh garlic. Dessert: homemade tiramisu. Delicious. See pictures that say more than 1000 words. The staff was again super attentive and friendly. We only had pizza and teramisu...it was a poem. A huge thank you to the kitchen! Were there again today (April 23, 2025)! And what can I say? It was a dream again. We had pizza, the dough and crust were an absolute dream. The high-quality and opulent surface... simply wonderful. Thanks to the great service, which is so attentive and child-friendly and of course the kitchen.

We have been to this restaurant very often. Pizza, pasta and salads are highly recommended. The pizza dough is unique. The restaurant can sometimes be very noisy. We recommend making a reservation in the evening as it is always busy. The owner and the staff are very friendly and try to fulfill all requests quickly. We'd love to come back.

The Ristorante Portofino is located directly in the harbor of Sassnitz and also has an outdoor terrace. There is a large selection of pizzas, but also pasta, fish and meat dishes. The pizzas are nice and crispy and very tasty. We really enjoy eating the fish soup, which for me is one of the best on the island. The ice cream sundaes are also highly recommended. The service is very attentive and friendly. We love coming to Portofino, whether to eat pizza or fish or even to enjoy a cappuccino on the terrace. Somehow it's always a bit like a short vacation in "Bella Italia"

Starting with the Service is amazing really make you fine at home. The professional service of a good man, unfortunately I forgot to ask his name, was extraordinary and the first impression to know that as turist we where in the right place. The food was very tasty we ordered Pizza of salame were are pizza lovers so we all 3 (my 2 kids and I) ordered the same pizza and even with the age difference we all gave the pizza 20 out of 10 score simply delicious!!!!

We ate there for the first time on Maundy Thursday. I ordered number 217 (3 grilled prawns). The food was extremely tasty: the prawns were cooked to perfection, there was also steamed pointed cabbage and grated carrots with a delicious sauce (unfortunately a little too little) and a also very tasty side salad. I was so impressed by this meal that we went again today (Good Friday). The food arrives and is not the same as the day before: completely different side dishes, no sauce and the prawns are bone dry! I had the dish returned. Unfortunately, somehow the gentlemen didn't want to understand that the food was completely different apart from the 3 prawns. Very strange since there is only 1x 3 grilled prawns on the menu! The plate was brought new: they simply swapped the 3 prawns and left the wrong side dishes on the plate, only this time the prawns were raw! What was that about? Was it another chef, or does the chef suffer from dementia??? Sorry, but I lost the desire to eat! It's a shame, because the day before I would have loved to give you 10 stars for the food. Today there are only 3 left and that's only because at least we didn't have to pay for this dish.

Three of us ate there. All three were satisfied with the taste, one was enthusiastic. Unfortunately, my portion of vitello tonnato was very small for €18. My friend had a little creepy crawly on his pizza. Unfortunately there was no apology or offer of compensation from the waiter. The restaurant itself and the toilets are not particularly inviting, some are worn out and dirty.

Super tasty, big pizza, good prices

Drank coffee and ordered tiramisu. There is a tray of fresh food in the fridge. However, I got one in a glass, half plasticized. I didn't even know you could make something like that. Maybe we weren't welcome?

I can only recommend this ristorante. Very nicely located in the harbor of Sassnitz in an old warehouse! Staff very nice and very child friendly! The food was delicious and the price was right too! We will definitely come back there. Thank you again for the great service.

The food was bland and tasteless, and also carelessly prepared, all the ingredients were just sort of thrown in half on the pizza, with whole olives with stones on the pizza. I've never experienced anything like that before. The door is permanently open at 5°C because it is served inside and outside, so there is a draft all the time. Toilet seats disgusting. Only when you wave or call someone comes to the table, brings a card and then doesn't ask if you want to order anything else. It's a shame, the reviews suggested otherwise. Not for us again.

It was Saturday evening and it was completely packed with people. We didn't have reservations but the waiter gave us seat 💺. They were really nice. We took a fresh Fisch recipe and a pizza special. They have a good choice of wine and you can always order for half which was sufficient for both of us. Most attractive was the Tiramisu. It was freshly made and tasted awesome.

We ate there twice during our time in Sassnitz. The pizza was fresh, large, very well topped and simply delicious. The restaurant was also well attended during the week. Highly recommended.
