Ristorante Pizzeria Ciao Ciao in Schwarzenbek

We went there because of the good reviews. Our carpaccio starter was still partially frozen, and I don't even want to know how long it had been pre-prepared. We then ordered two pizzas and two pasta dishes and had to wait over 90 minutes. When we asked if everything was okay with our order, we were grumpily told that the restaurant was full (about 80% capacity). The pizzas (both Prosciutto di Parma) were a complete disappointment: pre-made dough from the freezer, extremely salty, NO Parma ham but a cheap substitute, what felt like 3 kg of grated cheese on top, and a consistently bland taste. The absolute opposite of how an Italian pizza should taste. The pasta (ravioli with lemon sauce) was barely lukewarm and tasted of nothing. Our neighboring table sent back their penne tricolore because they also found it too bland, and the head waiter almost had a fit. I wonder if these are real Italians with such poor quality and if the cooks even have any spices in the kitchen. Overwhelmed staff, decorations and atmosphere okay. I really don't understand how it can have an average rating of 4.8 stars on Google! Never again.

We had to wait over an hour for our main course (pasta and pizza), which ended up being cold and certainly didn't justify the price of almost €25. The pizzas were also unfortunately like pre-made pizzas and not at all what you'd expect, and the appetizer was still half-frozen and, sadly, inedible. When we politely inquired about our food, we received an unfriendly gesture and had to wait another 20 minutes. We definitely wouldn't recommend this place, which is a real shame since we'd heard so many positive things about it.

The restaurant is quite stylishly furnished, with very attentive and friendly staff, and the food itself is very tasty and varied; the seasonal offerings have been really good so far.

Based on the reviews, we went to the restaurant on Tuesday evening, December 16th, 2025. We both ordered pizza. It's very disappointing for such a popular Italian restaurant that the pizzas are cooked on a baking sheet in the oven. As a result, the pizza had absolutely no flavor! The reason I have to give it one star, however, is that we both had stomach aches at midnight. It's such a great place, with good staff, and the other food on the tables looked delicious. It's sad that you make pizzas like that, and please check your ingredients.

We recently had dinner here. The restaurant is extremely loud; you can barely hear yourself think, let alone have a proper conversation. We waited a very long time for our food (over an hour), which is unacceptable. The food itself was, at best, okay, and the taste was really bad. All the dishes were bland and could have used more seasoning. Some of us also had a bad night's sleep after eating here and had to take medication. We will not be coming back.

What is offered here is simply great!

The new opening at this location is a definite win for Schwarzenbek, as it offers a sheltered terrace with plenty of greenery and a very tastefully decorated dining room. The two are connected by sliding doors that can be opened when the weather is nice, creating a bit of a vacation feel. 😎 They also offer a selection of lunch dishes at fair prices.

I've never seen such rude staff in an Italian restaurant. They were very stressed, there were no smiles; we felt very uncomfortable. The food isn't authentic Italian. The carbonara is made with cream. For us Italians, that's the end of eating there again, but mostly because of the poor staff.

Here, you're greeted as if you were coming for dinner every weekend. Okay, we can't manage every weekend, but it's nice every now and then... It's a lovely feeling to be greeted and said goodbye to like this...

Delicious Italian cuisine paired with a friendly service team. The dining room is tastefully decorated. And on the terrace, the good food can be enjoyed even more in good weather.

I ordered the spaghetti with seafood, and I have to honestly say that I haven't had such delicious pasta in a very long time. The atmosphere was perfect, the service was excellent, and the small lemonade at the end of the meal was perfect. All in all, the Ciao ciao restaurant is a great option for a delicious meal.

We were able to reserve a table yesterday at very short notice. The restaurant was packed. Sure, there was a bit of a wait, but it was worth it. We were thrilled with both the service and the food. We'd be happy to go back.

Sorry... since the move, things have deteriorated in some significant ways. The toppings on most pizzas have become smaller. The service can be rather unfriendly, especially in stressful situations.

A charming café with plenty of little nooks and seating, both indoors and outdoors. A lovely orchard with seating for both small and large groups. Dog-friendly! Super friendly service. Highly recommended.

I can recommend this restaurant to everyone. Calling in advance would be a good idea. We were able to reserve a table at short notice. We received very friendly service. The menu is divided into two parts: a classic, regular menu, and a special menu. We chose from these. I first chose an Aperol Spritz, which tasted very good, and my husband a Lambrusco. I was able to try the wine, and I was blown away. The color was almost purple, with a fruity flavor, not too sweet, but very delicious. The food was incredibly delicious. This restaurant deserves a gourmet star for the food alone. Our server was also very attentive and friendly. The ambiance is so fitting for this restaurant. We would like to thank you again for this great meal and wine. I will order again soon. We would like to highly recommend this restaurant.

A very nice restaurant with delicious food. We go there regularly and have never been disappointed. The pizzas are perfectly topped and taste incredibly fresh! The beef fillet melts in your mouth! The bread with olives and dip is delicious. The menu has a great selection! There's something for everyone!

They charged us without an invoice. Surprised by the high amount, we asked for the bill to pay the bill. The bill was €5 less than what the waiter told us at the table. This has happened several times now, and the manager wasn't there.

There appear to be two crews at the restaurant. The other reviews seem incomprehensible. The spritzers consist almost entirely of water, the black spaghetti with cream sauce is tasteless, and the salad contains no fresh meat (chicken). The atmosphere is pleasant, but there's no risk of repeating this experience.

We ate the food because we were hungry, but we weren't thrilled. After a few hours of vomiting and diarrhea...the shandy was inedible.

Waited 2 hours for food (ordered steak) just under €30. Steak was shoe sole, the mini mashed potatoes next to it were over salted, never there again sorry.

Unfortunately I don't understand all the good reviews here. We were there for the first and last time. Apart from the fact that the food didn't taste like anything - one dish was completely wrong. After politely pointing this out, we were fooled into thinking it was the right dish (we ordered pepper sauce and it came with tomato sauce with pieces of pepper). The waiters were incredibly rude and insisted until the end that we were in the wrong. Our neighboring table with 4 people felt the same way. One out of 4 didn't receive their food at all and the other three had it inedible. Never again.

Reserved at 6 p.m., we were there on time. At 6:30 p.m. no order taken yet - not even drinks. It was unreasonably loud in the restaurant. Very loud, everyone at the table tried to have a conversation, but you almost had to shout at each other. I then told the gentleman behind the counter that we would like to order. I don't want to repeat what I got in response here. They have no idea about service. NEVER AGAIN. Afterwards I went to the Greek restaurant - it was great as always!!!!! There were 4 people in service here, it was very nice and great food.

A great Italian restaurant. You come as a guest and leave as a friend. Great food, great service and reasonable prices. The owner is extremely customer oriented. Larger groups and events are also served professionally and in a friendly manner. The waiting time is always in the lower range. Special requests are happy to be fulfilled. Was there for the first time yesterday after a short journey from Hamburg. The staff was very nice and tried hard. I had pasta with salmon, the food was totally okay. The red wine was in the normal price range and rounded everything off. All in all a normal 3.5 star rating. I'd love to come back.

Very nice pizzeria in Schwarzenbek, good selection of food. The current day menu also offers a great offer. Since the restaurant is not located directly on the thoroughfare, we unfortunately only discovered the pizzeria on the second day of our stay.

On the way back to Berlin we took a short break here to refresh ourselves. Very tasty and super friendly staff.

It's always something special to eat at this restaurant. The “special card” always contains one or two surprises. The catering ordered there for a larger private celebration more than satisfied all guests.

Pizza and lasagne were very tasty. The mixed salad was also great. First, a greeting from the house was served. The staff was very courteous and quick. The price-performance ratio was right. We were completely satisfied and would like to come back.

Delicious cuisine in a simple atmosphere with great service. We go there more often.

No Visa card payment possible, a service no-go in 2024. We will therefore prefer other restaurants in the future. The food is good. A starter that was on the daily menu was not in stock, we were then informed after 5 minutes - why not remove it from there? Ice cream desserts are probably only available in the café next door, which is closed in the evening. Then no dessert... The ambience is nothing special, but clean.
