Excellent food! I've rarely had such a good pizza. Service could be improved! The employee was too pushy for our taste and didn't seem to enjoy his job.

It was my first time there, and it won't be my last. :) The food was delicious (spaghetti frutti di mare), although a bit too squid-heavy for me. The service was very friendly and quick. I also liked the ambiance, but in warm weather, I recommend choosing an outdoor table when booking. We sat inside, and it was too hot and oppressive. Even with the doors open, the air was very stuffy. Perhaps a ceiling fan would help. Otherwise, I really enjoyed my stay.

The best Italian restaurant I know. Nowhere else can you get such delicious spaghetti carbonara made according to an original Italian recipe for such good value. I've been here many times and always enjoy coming back. I'd like to celebrate my 30th birthday with my family here in the winter; that should say enough about it.

We visited this Italian restaurant on two consecutive days – and that really says it all: It was so good, we had to come back! The service was also top-notch: attentive, friendly, and warm – you immediately feel welcome. The atmosphere is cozy yet stylish, ideal for a relaxing evening for two or with friends.

I reserved a table four weeks in advance. The lady on the phone was pretty rude and snappy. When I asked if we could have a table right by the window upstairs, she just said that since I had reserved early enough, it wouldn't be a problem. Apparently it did, because our table was in the middle on the ground floor. No dream view. About 30 minutes later, a group of three people arrived who hadn't reserved and they were given a table upstairs. Which was very, very annoying. The waiter was very rude from the start and didn't do a good job. He reached across the table more than once to collect glasses and plates even though someone else was still eating. The food was average (3 pizzas, some with very little topping, and one dish of pasta). Dessert was requested by three out of four people. There were three different dessert requests. Unfortunately, there was only one of the three desserts left. The waiter also presented this to us in a more than rude manner. No alternatives were given. So we settled for dessert. We came here because of the positive reviews and the really nice atmosphere. But my husband and I agree: This was our first and last time here.

Absolutely not for vegans. There's actually only one vegan dish, which is way too small. Four or five slices of bread and a pizza crust were barely enough to fill me up. It was tasty, but not filling (no carbs, no protein). Around €15 is way too much for that.

Girls' Night Out with Treats We were lured here after a recommendation from friends. Conclusion: This won't be our last visit. Our pasta dishes were all generous and extremely delicious, as well as attractively presented. The friendly and attentive, yet unobtrusive service contributed to our feeling of well-being. Combined with the view of the Rhine – it was a great experience all around.

I really liked this restaurant. The service was prompt and friendly, the food was delicious, and the view and atmosphere upstairs were very pleasant. All three of us had pizza for our meal, which we all enjoyed. The waiter even brought salt and pepper to our table for extra seasoning. My two companions used this, but I didn't need it. The dessert (tartufo, a pistachio ice cream with a chocolate center) was divine. I'd happily go back!

We spent a very pleasant evening with 12 friends. A friendly welcome, quick drinks, and off we went. First, homemade cornbread (still warm) with a light garlic cream greeted us from the kitchen. Fewer appetizers were ordered because the very large pizzas were already familiar. Whether it was an appetizer or a main course, we were all satisfied. The homemade tiramisu with an espresso was the crowning glory. The value for money is good, and if you want to spend a pleasant evening with a wonderful view, this is the place for you.

Disappointing visit to Ristorante Peperoncino in Hitdorf! Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my visit to Ristorante Peperoncino today. We went there specifically for the pizza special – Thursdays are known to be Pizza Day. Before we ordered our pizzas, we asked the waitress – twice – whether all pizzas would cost €11.90 today. We specifically asked if the "Pizza Bianca Asparagus" from the daily menu, which was normally priced at €22.90, was also included in the special. Her answer was a resounding "yes" both times. When we later received the bill, we were quite surprised: This very pizza was charged €22.90 – not the agreed-upon €11.90. When we asked the waitress about it, she suddenly didn't want to hear anything more. Her excuse was: "I forgot!" She then called in a colleague – whose behavior was unfortunately even more rude. When we explained the situation to him, he reacted condescendingly and almost mocked our complaint. His only response: "What am I supposed to do now? This isn't my place – should I pay you for this out of my own pocket?" Such disrespectful treatment of guests is absolutely unacceptable. No consideration, no understanding. The almost €7 tip (10%) is very annoying afterward! Very disappointing! In 2025, good service should have been a given long ago. Ristorante Peperoncino definitely has a lot of catching up to do and has a lot to learn.

We became aware of the restaurant through the voucher book. We were totally thrilled. Very friendly staff and a quiet, full atmosphere. But the best thing was the food. We would be happy to come by again.

It's always nice to sit under the glass dome on the first floor and enjoy the view of the Rhine while eating. The pasta and other dishes are very good and tasty. I don't find the pizza that convincing, the dough is always a bit tough and the toppings are a bit thin. I know that better. All in all, worth a visit.

To be honest, we expected a little more from the ambience. The restaurant benefits primarily from its beautiful location directly on the Rhine. The service was consistently friendly and attentive – we liked that. Unfortunately, the dishes didn't really impress us from a culinary point of view: the pizza was quite oily or watery and lost significantly in quality as soon as it cooled down a bit. The portion of spaghetti was rather small and the taste of the dish was unspectacular. Overall, we would have expected more for the prices quoted. We also found it a bit strange that prepared appetizer plates were standing on several unoccupied tables throughout our entire stay - even though there were no guests sitting there. That seemed a bit careless, especially since we were seated outside and it was particularly noticeable there.

On the second visit there were light and shadows. The service was good, although not very warm. The Prosecco ordered as an aperitif lacked a bit of freshness. The starter bread that was shared was sparingly sized. The main courses (Dorodenfilet and Surf&Turf)) were good and tasty. The meat was cooked perfectly, even though no one asked how it should be. With the scampies (3 pieces), I would have liked two more. The final espressos with tiramisu and - on the initiative of the house as a gift - with chocolate cake allowed us to end the evening satisfied with the rest of the tasty rosé from the day's menu. Next time we'll probably choose pasta and/or pizza. They looked very tasty on the next tables and don't cost too much money. The deduction in the ambience was for the seat next to the music box in the admittedly great window seat.

Spaghetti Carbonara came without eggs, which I don't know and I didn't like it. I found the 70 minute wait for the food to be too long. Pizza was very good, the staff was very friendly. Overall it was a bit too loud and restless.

Reserved a table for Saturday a few days ago. When we got there there wasn't a single table available. For the first time I was put off that someone would come soon. Then the lady comes and the only question was when we made the reservation! Shame because we had a reservation confirmation. Other guests felt the same way. Not even an apology or an attempt to find a table. A NO GO!

Gourmet block...great recommendation. We sat at the top with a wonderful view over the Rhine to Langel. Food is good and plentiful. The service was friendly and accommodating. In summer you can also sit outside. The drive there (26km) was worth it. Would love to come back.
