Too bad, we just wanted a drink (alcoholic) this afternoon, but the terrace was empty, so we asked the restaurant if we could have one. The waiter simply replied: "This is a restaurant; you can have a drink next door." Even when we asked if we wanted something alcoholic, the only answer was: "This is a restaurant." Too bad, because it was completely empty.

Our go-to Italian restaurant for over ten years! A traditional restaurant where you immediately feel at home – almost like being with the family. The food is always excellent, the atmosphere warm and inviting. Here, the cooking and serving are done with passion, and there's always time for a quick "quattro chiacchiere." Even when the place is packed, the wait is always worth it, as you'll be rewarded with truly excellent food. Whether with the whole family or the whole family – we always enjoy coming back. Highly recommended – a true institution in Bensberg!

A friendly restaurant with a pleasant terrace in the city center. Offers a good variety of Italian dishes. The service and portions are generous, we were treated to good appetizers with our aperitif. Simple and tasty cuisine. (Pros: a beer and gorgonzola spinach gnocchi)

One of the best italian restaurants we tried so far. I love their spaghetti frutti di mare. And the gnocchi with gorgonzola and spinach was also good. It was just a bit sad that some of the staff cannot speak to us in English properly. But the owner was really nice to give us English menu when he realized we were not Germans. They also gave us bread and some antipasti for free which were good.

A spontaneous visit that we will definitely repeat. We haven't had such delicious lasagna in ages. My husband's saltimboca was also fantastic. We welcomed him with a small appetizer on the house and finished with a grappa. Definitely recommend it.

We met with family and had really tasty food. As a group 5 people we sadly were sat on a 4 person table we had to squeeze together often.

We eat at different restaurants every week, but our main course here (spaghetti with seafood and pizza) was the best. The service is very friendly, and the restaurant is beautifully decorated and cozy. We highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

The staff was very rude they made me waiting more than 40minutes and then they asked me if I get to them first, really, I have to get to them, since when the client goes to the waiters, it seems that here is different than the rest of the world. So I got up and went to a closer restaurant were I didn't had to go to the weiter, they came to me. I went to Veuve Clicquot, because they were available, unfortunately the 2 star Michelin restaurant Vendome was full. And yes, I forgot he made me a theory why I didn't say hello, really, maybe I'm tired, maybe I'm upset and I just want to drink and eat something, and after 40 minutes waiting you aspectme to smile... anyway rude.

Wir waren zu viert dort. Wir hatten Glück, kurzfristig noch einen Tisch zu bekommen. Die Atmosphäre war angenehm. Der Service war zuvorkommend. Der Primitivo schmeckte köstlich. Wir hatten Pizza, gegrillten Pulpo und - passend zur Saison - Spargel. Die Pulpo-Arme wurden mit einer Salat-Kombination serviert. Farblich und geschmacklich sehr vielfältig. Der Spargel wurde klassisch mit Kartoffel chen und Sauce Hollandaise serviert. Die Pizza war letztendlich Standard, aber auf jeden Fall sehr lecker. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Preise sind, wenn man nicht gerade Pizza bestellt, wie üblich beim Italiener etwas höher. Wir kommen wieder!

Cozy, very family-run Italian restaurant in an old half-timbered house below the castle. Very accommodating and friendly service. Bread with herb cream and a bruschetta were greeted from the kitchen. That was actually a good starter. I had tagliatelle with wild garlic pesto, green asparagus and scampi. The plate didn't look pretty, but it tasted good. Thank you, gladly again.

Finally. Pino is back. And he conjures up whatever the kitchen has to offer. The well-known chef from Cologne brings a breath of fresh air to Ristorante Italia. I am absolutely thrilled and will come back more often in the future!

Very tasty food, cozy restaurant. The service was nice, but sometimes a bit abrupt. We had appetizers and pizza, everything was delicious. Before the dishes we ordered there was bruschetta and delicious bread with herb quark. At the end we were invited for a drink.

Eating there, our pasta was quite ok. But the service is really bad. You wait for an extremely long time and the friendliness can be improved

Wir waren Sylvester 24/25 zu viert dir und haben einen schönen Abend gehabt. Das Menü war sehr gut ( besser als das Sylvestermenü 23/24). Die Stimmung war gut und es wurde getanzt. Die Mitarbeiter/innen waren alle freundlich und schnell. Uns hat's gut gefallen.

Valentino has the best Italian food on the right side of the Rhine. We go there regularly with friends and children and everyone loves it. Favorites: Pizza Italia, spaghetti carbonara, goat cheese salad.

I experienced a wonderful evening full of Italian hospitality at Ristorante Italia. Even the starter, the beetroot carpaccio with goat cheese, was a delight, fresh and finely balanced. The main course of Fassona beef ribs was perfectly cooked and tender, accompanied by delicious truffle fries. An excellent wine was served, which ideally underlined the aromas. The tiramisu at the end was airy and aromatic and simply heavenly. The conversation with the head of the house, who is passionate about Italian cuisine, made the evening even better. I'm looking forward to the next time

Nice staff, attentive and the dishes are well made. Surprisingly good pizza for a restaurant in Bergisch Gladbach. Only downside: The free breadrolls for the appetizer wete terrible. Chewy, bland, sticky moist dough from the inside. But all other dishes were good!

The food tastes good. Service arrogant. I have no idea when you'll become a regular customer and be greeted with a smile. But there are differences here. We were there a few times. The waiters were always curt and made you feel unwelcome and even annoying. That's why I like to stay away from Italia.

Went there for lunch with my wife today, August 14th, despite the power outage. Pepper shaker wheat glass dingy. Window sills unclean! Cutlery and spoons were brought by hand and therefore not hygienic. Not even the path to the toilets had emergency lighting and was therefore unusable. Very unprofessional.

I have never been greeted so unfriendly in a restaurant before. I couldn't bring myself to eat something there and left again. Nobody can do anything about the construction site in front of the door, but we can work on the friendliness of the employees. Very unfortunate 😕

Really nice atmosphere with very nice service and a wide selection of specialties. The salads are highly recommended; if you are very hungry you can also have a meat dish, as they are really huge. We ordered a pizza and three pasta dishes. The pizza dough was half raw and therefore soft. Unfortunately not edible. There was also a lot of cheese on it. The pasta dishes were full of cream. It was a grind and nothing more. The lasagna was swimming in oil, the pizza was just salty and the waitress needed 3 attempts to get all 5 people drinks. People who have no idea about food give positive reviews here. I didn't like it like I said.

We had dinner here last night. The waitresses were friendly and really on the ball. Drinks and food were brought really quickly. The food was a dream, incredibly delicious! We'd love to come back. The only drawback is the construction site in Bensberg, if you sit outside it's not that nice, but no one can do anything about it and if it really bothers you, I recommend finding a place inside.

My first and unfortunately also last visit. The food was okay - neither particularly outstanding nor bad, absolutely average. Unfortunately the service was subpar. Already at the entrance I was harshly approached by one of the waitresses who asked me about my reservation, to which I replied that the other waitress at the counter was already taking care of me. No, she would do that now - in a completely inappropriate tone. We were able to place our order quite quickly, but then there was no service staff in sight. Only when the plates were cleared was there an opportunity to order something more; There were no questions from the service as to whether there was anything else that could be done the whole evening. The bill was simply placed on the table and the person in charge disappeared straight away without charging us. After several minutes we asked if someone with a wallet could come and collect money for us. Were we expected to just put any amount of money on the table and leave? I didn't feel welcome throughout the entire evening. At least there was bread before the meal and we were offered a schnapps by the person who finally cashed in on us. But that doesn't even begin to solve it. The ambience is a bit old, but okay. Unfortunately for me there is no alternative to other Italian restaurants in the area.

On May 25, 2024, I visited the restaurant in the evening with someone. The service was very poor from the start, the waitresses were consistently unfriendly and impolite. We had to ask several times to order and receive the invoice. We were deprived of a board with current dishes, but other guests, as we later discovered, were not. The drinks and the bowls with the food were carelessly distributed on the table, the actual food was edible, it in no way corresponds to Italian tradition. A re-ordered glass of wine was placed at the edge of the table with the waiter's long face. It was my last visit to this restaurant.

Catastrophe!!!! I've known Italia (at Mimmo) for years. At some point my wife and I decided not to eat there anymore because we didn't like it anymore. However, based on an invitation, we visited the restaurant again. The food was worse than ever. Pasta was more than al dente. Salmon and liver not cooked through, everything covered in sauce, dishes sometimes over-seasoned or not at all. At the end of the celebration at home, except for two people, everyone felt like they were tied up, so the evening came to an early end. You can only avoid the restaurant.
