The kitchen is excellent even after the change of operator...but the service is a complete disaster!

It's such a shame about the old Montanara 😭 we didn't know about the change of ownership until we entered, but we immediately suspected it, googled it and it was confirmed. The menu is sad, the staff is okay (not meant personally, but we still know the old people) and the atmosphere is so unpleasant that we really didn't feel comfortable (what kind of horrible music is that?). It's a shame that so much (too much!) has changed, we won't be coming back and we still fondly remember the good old mountain cheese and truffle pizza ✨

Fantastic food, fantastic service - would highly recommend!

A friend and I were there this weekend Restaurant Montanara and what a good decision! We had bruschetta, pizza capra and tagliatelle burrata. The food was well presented and delicious. You can taste that everything is fresh. Because of the nice weather we had the opportunity to sit outside. The service was also great. I would love to come back!

I went to Montanara with my family. We ate truffle pasta, tagliatelle with salmon, pizza diavola and pizza margherita. All dishes were very tasty. The service was also great and friendly. Thank you for a nice evening.

There were three of us there this evening, the restaurant was completely empty, we waited 15 minutes for our drinks, starters were ok, unfortunately the main courses were very disappointing, an original carbonara was far from it. Pointing out to the waitress that they have to take dirty starter plates with them is very questionable as the only table in the restaurant, the service was unfortunately very poor, not attentive and simply never at the table. It's a miracle that the restaurant is still standing with the service and quality of the food.

I ordered a seafood pizza. The dough, sauce and cheese are fantastic but the toppings are almost outrageous. I would rather pay a little more to get the old quality again. I'm attaching a picture from April and one from today. I think that speaks for itself. 3 stars and the hope for change.

This restaurant is no longer what it once was: They have drastically reduced the menu, the quality of the cuisine has deteriorated significantly, the service (very friendly) is unsatisfactory. I have no desire to return. And last Saturday evening the place was pretty empty. It's obvious that more people think like me. It's a shame, because I used to like it.

We went to Montanara spontaneously and for the very first time for a birthday dinner and can really recommend it from the bottom of our hearts. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great, but what really impressed us was the service and the really friendly staff! The little birthday surprise was the ideal ending, thank you for the lovely evening with you, we would love to come back!

Was always an absolutely reliable institution in the district. Unfortunately, since the change of ownership a few months ago, things have gone downhill rapidly. Higher prices, lower quality, smaller pizza, bored-looking and inattentive staff. Too bad.

Very friendly service and delicious food that is attractive and prepared with a lot of love. We particularly like to order the Parma ham, which is freshly sliced, whether as a starter or on the pizza. The desserts are also highly recommended. We are here almost every week and always feel at home.

However, we would particularly like to highlight the staff, who were not only extremely friendly, but also incredibly attentive and accommodating. A perfect experience all around! We recently went to Montanara in the evening during the European Championships and had a very nice and fun evening there. The food was really sensationally delicious - we haven't eaten it so well for a long time. The absolute highlights were the burrata pizza and the truffle pasta. Everything is homemade and you can taste it too. The service was very nice, quick and warm. We'd love to come back.

I ordered Ravioli florentina for myself and pizza for my husband,it was absolutely delicious and so nice and tasty also staff were very welcoming and so kind so I definitely recommend it and spend time for enjoying .

I actually always enjoyed being here because I wanted to support a traditional restaurant of this type with little trend marketing. However, you should make sure to give enough tips (it wasn't 5%), otherwise the waiter will insult you and tell you it's better not to give anything at all, even though everything was friendly before. Unfortunately, neither of us currently have any income and haven't given it much thought, even though I would have liked to give more. But I no longer feel comfortable where friendliness is linked to money and that leads to excessive behavior. I really hope that more confidence and acceptance towards customers can be cultivated here. We are young and visibly and noticeably none of the older people who have enough money and just don't begrudge it to the staff. It's a real shame and I'm still sorry, I was otherwise satisfied.

Absolutely become my favorite Italian restaurant. We liked tagliatelle with truffles or with lobster sauce. The young ladies need to be a little more self-confident and practice a little more 😉 but it will be okay

Was here because of an insta ad and was not disappointed in any way. The Parpadelle al tartufo e strancetti di manzo was fantastic. Plus a delicious Chardonnay, great service. What more do you want. Definitely come back. Keep it up

Delicious, filling pizza from the Stone oven. Staff was friendly. We didn't wait long for the pizza. I can only agree with the positive reviews. What we noticed by the way was that the knives were actually a bit dull when cutting. But please don't let that stop you from eating there.

I love Montanara, they still serve really traditional Italian cuisine. I hope that there won't be any major changes even after the change in ownership, because there are no other authentic restaurants like this in Cologne anymore! The food is always freshly cooked, everything is fresh and of the best quality. Homemade pasta - I love it!! We have been there many times and hope that the new owner doesn't notice any major changes :)

The food is really good. We had 4 pizzas and one pasta and everyone was happy and full. The service was unfortunately… yes, where is the service…. Hello? Joe Biden's father was there once, but then he left and never came back. We couldn't order a second round of drinks. The bill was only placed on the table in passing. It's a shame, we would have liked to order more.

Italian food cooked by Italians. I recommend spaghetti with clams and cherry tomatoes. Also grilled lamb ribs and homemade tiramisu were very tasty. Been there for two days in a row during a tradeshow and being an Italian I usually don’t like visit Italian restaurants abroad but this one oh well, it definitely worth a visit.

Great Italian cuisine. Beyond the usual pasta (always homemade here) and pizza, you can get great and authentic meat and fish dishes here, often seasonally influenced and always top-notch. My absolute highlight for dessert is the strawberry lasagna. Top!

Flasche Pellegrino kommt bereits geöffnet an den Tisch. Vitello Tonnato geschmacksneutral. Das Essen wird ungefragt abgeräumt, auch wenn man noch nicht fertig war.

Das Personal ist aufmerksam, umschmeichelnd und hervorragend. Weine, Karte und Empfehlungen waren präsent und konnten ohne Zögern abgerufen werden. Charmant, aber unaufdringlich würden wir bedient. Scharf in der Karte ist ernstzunehmen. Leider hatten wir mit den Böden, der sonst schmackhaften, geringfügig uberwürzten Pizzen zu kämpfen. Dafür waren die Portionen aber gut und das Ambiente okay. Der große Bar-/Tresenbereich lädt zum Verweilen und mit großem Sortiment ein, abseits der Küche einzukehren und zu verweilen.

Buen restaurante italiano, acogedor y con buen servicio, bastante bien los entrantes, muy ricas las pizza, bajitas y de masa fina. Para repetir.

Hier wird noch richtig professionell gekocht, teilweise auch in Show-Küche. Kein Tütenaufreißen und In-die-Mikrowelle-Werfen. Ein Genuss! Dazu immer saisonale Spezialitäten. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Sehr sehr lecker und toller Service

Es war gut, besonders gut ist das Shuttle. Leider liegt das Hotel in einem komischen "Industriegebiet". Aber die Architektur, das Zimmer und das Frühstück waren prima.

Der Laden war mal was, gingen gerne regelmäßig hin, aber irgendwann nur noch schlechter und schlechter …. Haare im Essen, kalte Speisen, ungenießbares Essen und wenn man reklamiert hat, bekam man nur blöde Blicke und musste trotzdem das schlechte Essen bezahlen ……

Schon lange nicht mehr das, was es mal war! Essen lieblos, trotzdem teuer. Eng, laut, schlichtes Ambiente. Herzblut steckt schon lange nicht mehr drin

Nachtrag: Pizza zuletzt ziemlich durchschnittlich. Gutes Essen zu gehobenen Preisen. Die Pizza und die Vorspeisen sind sehr lecker. Die Fischgerichte sind besonders anzumerken.

Das Essen, Pizzen, war sehr lecker, die Räumlichkeiten schlicht und einfach. Der Service war okay.

Sehr leckere Pizza. Der offene Weißwein war ebenfalls toll. Der Service korrekt ohne extrem herzlich zu sein. Die Einrichtung ist geradlinig. Das Ambiente könnten einen Ticken einladender gestaltet werden. Alles in allem aber ein schöner Abend gewesen!

Der beste Italiener der Stadt, alle Speisen authentisch italienisch. Besitzer und Köche inklusive Service made in Italia. Dazu freundlicher Service, ist halt ein Familien geführtes Lokal.

Früher gab es ein fass ohne Boden nicht mal den hätte der Laden bekommen. So ein schlechtes Essen.....Pizza schlimmer wie Dr.oetker. Makkaroni mit Steinpilze al dente =gelbe Nudeln die eigentlich roh waren. Linguini mit vongole die liguini ließen sich nicht mal auf die Gabel drehen. Und das ist al dente?? Rumpsteak mit Gorgonzola die Kartoffeln waren roh.... Cola im Glas ohne Kohlensäure ein Glas mit Eis eins mit zitrone obwohl nur 2 Cola bestellt wurden. Ich würde am liebsten Schmerzensgeld geltend machen nach dem ich gerade mundstuhl hatte.

Vorzüglich wie immer! Sehr netter, kompetenter Service und mega leckeres Essen. Immer wieder gerne und nur zu empfehlen
