Ristorante Da Daniele am Klosterpark in Göttingen

We've been there twice now. We ate something different each time and rolled home full and happy each time.

The service staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. It was our first time eating there and we'd love to come back on our next vacation in the region.

Unfortunately, it's not as good as it used to be. We were thrilled last time, but what we experienced last night was simply not good. The carpaccio for 15 euros was beyond mediocre. The saltimbocca for 28.50 was very bad, maybe 100g of veal. My wife's pizza was half-raw, and the bill was also incorrect. Extremely expensive. We paid over 120 euros for a subpar evening. Update from today, July 5, 2025 We didn't get the reserved table. We were rudely escorted inside and then left. It's a shame, really; we wanted to give the restaurant a second chance after my disastrous birthday. Update from September 25, 2025 We went there spontaneously. This time everything was perfect, and we were very satisfied. The two young ladies had everything under control, and even though it was very busy, we were served quickly and extremely friendly. It's possible.

Super delicious food at the monastery park. Reservations are recommended.

Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy my visit to this restaurant. The place is quite nicely decorated, but my hopes of a great meal were quickly dashed. All the portions were very small. My lasagna had maybe three lasagna sheets, so it only had a lot of tomato sauce and didn't taste good. It was also lukewarm at the bottom...probably taken out of the fridge and quickly baked. The same thing happened to my partner. Our friends once had pasta and a portion of salmon fillet, which was also overpriced at almost €30. We'd rather go to a different restaurant in the future.

Very tasty food, also suitable for people with celiac disease. Friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere. There's plenty of parking. I find the price a bit high, which is why we don't come here very often. But you can tell that love goes into the food and everything is freshly prepared.

Da Daniele is located a little way from Göttingen's city center, right next to the monastery garden, in a quiet location with a pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant offers solid Italian cuisine of a high standard. The salmon salad was excellent – the fish was fresh, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The absolute highlight, however, was the pistachio tiramisu: exceptional in flavor, finely balanced, and definitely worth recommending. I had the same thing again next time. The lasagna was also absolutely delicious. The linguini surf and turf was also very tasty – it has never disappointed. A Marsala or grappa is offered as payment. The decor is modern and stylish without being overly pretentious. The terrace invites you to sit outside in good weather, although its eastern exposure means it gets less sun in the evenings. The staff is friendly, and the service attentive. I have the feeling they're getting even friendlier every time. 🫶🏼 The Italian atmosphere comes across as authentic, unobtrusive, but palpable. I've been here several times and have never been disappointed. If you're looking for good Italian cuisine in a relaxed setting, this is the place to be.

I like it! I first discovered it online, and what can I say? The menu seemed so fresh and authentic that we decided to try it. It delivers on its promise: Delicious, authentic Italian food. Top quality and great value for money. In my opinion, it's an insider tip! Keep up the good work, it was great.

Daniele and his family have opened a wonderful new second restaurant. Beautifully decorated, bright, and welcoming; you can even sit outside in the summer. The food is excellent, as always. We love coming here.

Overpriced! Bruschetta is nothing like what it's supposed to be. The quantity and quality don't match the prices. A shame. I wonder if all those 5-star reviews are fake. 🙄 I mean, how can you call yourself an Italian restaurant and serve bruschetta with half tomatoes and toast? WTF

Great Italian restaurant with a modern, clean atmosphere that we really liked. The spring decorations were particularly appealing. The pizzas and lasagne tasted great. The voucher book has been accepted and is even being promoted. We would come back at any time.

It's delicious. This seafood noodle is the top one in Göttingen. It's so delicious. If the chef's performance is more stable, it will be more perfect. It's delicious and delicious. After recommendations from friends and acquaintances and after my own research, I set out and visited the restaurant, which is admittedly in a place where you wouldn't immediately expect something like that, namely in an industrial area in the north of Göttingen. I chose a starter plate with antipasti and capaccio (beef and veal), as well as the highlight, the Danielle's burger with black truffle. The price of €22.90 for the burger is more than justified and it was definitely worth the price.

The food was mediocre at best, but the service, which was not Italian, was cheeky and arrogant.

Expensive prices, unfriendly service, sterile furnishings and carelessly prepared food

The tomato soup starter tasted rather bland, and the pizza speciale was soaked in so much lemon olive oil that you could hardly taste anything else. In my opinion, the prices are simply not justified for the quality of the food, and since there is not much else worth mentioning about this restaurant, I will go back to the other Italian restaurants in Göttingen next time

Bruschetta without basil, cherry tomatoes only halved. I've never seen anything like this so unloving. We were all irritated, so my son wrote a review about it. A short time later the boss was at our table and threatened to throw us out because of it!!!! Impossible! Repetition factor equal to zero!!!

Lots of prestige and nothing behind it. The bruschetta gave the impression that the chef himself only knew this dish from hearsay. Halved tomatoes and garlic chunks decorate a half-cooked baguette and serve as a starter. 16€ for reaching into the toilet. For pizza, any ingredient adjustment (e.g. mozzarella instead of gorgonzola) must be charged at the full additional cost of an extra ingredient for supposed tax reasons. As a thank you, you get a pizza that is burnt on the sides and raw in the American thick base. And as if that wasn't enough, if you mention such deficiencies in a review, your boss and daughter will attack you while you're eating and threaten to throw you out, which is why I'm only republishing this review afterwards. So here's my greeting again to the boss, who has nothing better to do during busy times than regularly checking his cell phone and harassing customers. You really could have saved yourself the visit.

The Da Daniele restaurant has been my absolute favorite in the region for many years. I always feel very comfortable as a guest. Everything is so familiar, I always receive courteous service, the staff is very attentive, friendly and always in a good mood. The wine recommendation is always a hit, the antipasti as a starter is the best I know. For the main course I always eat the Filetto Daniele with truffles. The meat is of the highest quality and we always serve it medium cooked. In combination with the mashed potatoes and vegetables as a side dish, it is a star dish for me. The desserts are also of the highest standard across the board. When I'm there it's always like a little vacation for me. Many thanks to the Da Daniele team for the always great hospitality. We came here by chance and were very pleasantly surprised. A family business serves very authentic pizza here 🍕. Wonderful. Very courteous staff. The restaurant was very, very busy on Wednesday evening. We can recommend Pizza 504 & 517 😋

Really delicious gluten-free pizza. Is highly recommended. I think it's a bit of a shame that it can't be delivered, but it's absolutely understandable.

We went there spontaneously for dinner yesterday. Get room for two. The staff was very friendly. Despite the full house, everything went smoothly. Waiting time for the food or taking the order was very quick. People regularly asked if everything was OK. My wife had pasta with salmon. Rich amount of salmon and very tasty sauce. Decent portion. I had a calzone. It was richly topped and, as a highlight, topped with cheese and tomato sauce. Drink prices are ok for today's time, a little higher but still absolutely ok. We became aware of the restaurant because of the current “Schlemmerblock”. An absolute insider tip. We'd love to come back.

We visited at Christmas and were unfortunately a little disappointed with the food. We know it differently, but if we are served a carelessly prepared bruschetta (bone-hard white bread with only halved small tomatoes with olive oil, that's not a good start. Here you can expect more for 6.90 or 9.90 with a little burrata. My fish had it sparingly side dishes, which unfortunately were no longer hot. There was nothing at all wrong with the dessert and the friendliness of our service.

Spicy here means very, very hot. You can't taste any of the pizza anymore. Drinks were placed on the table very carelessly. For the price you can expect better service.

We ate there with the family, starting with the antipasti “Da Daniele”. The Vitello Tonnato wasn't bad, but I personally missed capers, the carpaccio was mediocre and very tasteless, I've definitely had better. The other antipasti weren't great either, blackened and green olives, pickled mushrooms and a quarter of a pickled artichoke as well as some dried and fresh tomatoes and mozzarella. Plus small pizza rolls. The portion size is rather small. Plus good olive oil and delicious balsamic vinegar. You can't complain about the calzone, the quality of the fresh mushrooms and the other ingredients seemed good too. the Aurora with Breasola and a burrata in the middle and pizza carpaccio were not very exciting. The two pizzas were rather neutral in taste. The "sharp" knives really struggled with the pizza. The service was good. Conclusion: a slightly above average Italian restaurant, but nothing more. The menu is in German and English, which is reflected in the prices. A person can quickly reach €30 or more. Therefore price/performance is rather below average here. I also hoped to find Polpo on the map, but unfortunately there wasn't. I can spontaneously think of three Italian restaurants in Göttingen and the surrounding area that I would rather eat at. I only give 3 stars because the rather high expectations that were raised were not met. Still, good luck.

Everything was very nice. The ambience and furnishings are great and invite you to come back. You can also have a good meal here with small children; children's chairs are available. The service was super friendly, attentive and everyone was very nice. The food tasted very good, there was an extra daily menu and a separate dessert menu. My husband ordered a pizza and he was quite happy about it. However, my food was not so good. I didn’t like lagsana and asked to change to spaghetti but the waiter refused. They were not flexible for customers. We also ordered a mix-mushrooms dish as starter but it was totally disappointing. Only a few slices of different types mushrooms and it costs more than 12€, so expensive. The taste was not so good, neither. Overall, I don’t want to come again but my husband is happy about the pizza flavor so we give 3 stars overall. The tiramisu is super expensive (9€) so I didn’t try.

Very good pizza 🍕 especially the pizza dough! Pizza rolls and lasagna!!! Sometimes the waiting time is longer but what can you stand for a top meal!!!! And you always feel welcome 🤗 Service is very nice, of course when it's very busy some of the attention is a bit lost, but even these people only have 2 hands 🙌 and a head! And you can tell it's a family business, which is certainly reflected in the warmth of the heart that greets you when you enter the store! So thank you very much 🙏 🤩

Amazingly delicious (on request) GLUTEN-FREE pizza! Super tasty, dough purchased from Italy tastes absolutely authentic and is in no way inferior to a normal pizza. I have rarely eaten Italian cuisine so good. The ravioli with pistachio pesto and the pistachio tiramisu were divine. The blackhead dishes also looked great.

An Italian restaurant that deserves to be called that. That alone is almost a rarity. On top of that, for me, it's more upscale Italian cuisine. Of course, that doesn't always have to be the case, but it's a big win, especially for Weende. The only aspects I don't like are the interior and especially the exterior design. For me, the “trend” of working sterilely in shades of gray and replacing garden culture with “comfortable” stone is in stark contrast to truly Italian dolce vita. But what isn't can still happen and maybe we can hope to soon feel like we're in Veneto in the outdoor area! I really hope that Daniel will be a long-term part of Weende and can develop and develop.

Unfortunately, the lack of staff made the task of providing food and drinks somewhat more difficult and took time. After about 1-1.5 hours we had our food. This was really very good. Overall, everything was very nicely decorated, clean and pleasant.

Delicious Italian dishes in the upper price segment... The dishes on offer are of very high quality. Please be sure to reserve a seat, the restaurant is very full on Saturdays and you will be politely asked to vacate your seat after 1.5 hours... The service is on point and very nice.

Top restaurant with great food 🥘

Unfortunately the price-performance ratio wasn't right at all. Pasta for €20, which was very little, and a burger for €23, which wasn't filled with enough toppings, don't justify such prices in my opinion. We also had to wait a long time and the waitresses were neither attentive nor really friendly. Unfortunately our starter was also forgotten. All in all very disappointing, I would have preferred to spend my money differently.

Everything we ate was soooo delicious. We ordered Quattro Formaggi pizza and Lasagna. The dough of pizza was perfect and cheeses they use were extraordinarily delicious. And the final applause is for pistachio tiramisu. Definitely mind-blowing!

We were there with a large group and the chairs were far too narrow, so we really sat shoulder to shoulder... The portions were very small (spaghetti carbonara), especially since it costs ~18€. The carbonara was very tasty, but really little. The service was okay, only sometimes a bit unfriendly or you had the feeling of being a nuisance, which I see as critical for a slightly better Italian. I wouldn't go there again.

Great ambience, great service, great portion size too. I would have liked the pizza rolls with my pasta to be warm, but unfortunately they were completely cold. They could also tolerate salt, but unfortunately they didn't taste like anything. The pizza dough would also tolerate salt and would therefore have a little more taste. Otherwise everything is good...
