We dined at Kredo on a Sunday lunchtime with a large group and were absolutely delighted. The food was consistently excellent – ​​perfectly flavorful, expertly prepared, and beautifully presented. The service also deserves special mention: attentive, friendly, and, despite the size of our group, always professional and warm. A wonderful atmosphere where you immediately feel welcome. We will definitely return and wholeheartedly recommend Kredo.

You can immediately tell that the team enjoys their work and is exceptionally well-prepared. Service often falters at the end of events – but that was absolutely not the case here. The kitchen was also outstanding across the board. The dishes were incredibly flavorful, beautifully presented, and offered a wide variety. You can clearly see that the food is prepared with skill and genuine passion. I was also particularly impressed by the pleasant aroma upon entering the restaurant – a clear sign of freshly prepared food and a perfect start to the evening. Cozy, friendly service and delicious food

The food was prepared with great care, the pairings were excellent, and the price was very reasonable. The service was incredibly fast; the food must have been prepared in advance—just heated and plated, it was ready to serve. The oysters were delicious and very fresh; highly recommended. The venison, however, felt too soft, probably overcooked, and lacked texture.

Simply top-notch. Amazing food. Regional and seasonal. This is what modern food should be like today. Göttingen, you have to go there.

We had a 7-course meal, and every course was outstanding. Everything tasted exquisite. Everything was regional and seasonal. The service was exceptionally excellent. Each course was accompanied by a wine recommendation from the accompanying wine pairing. Everything was perfectly matched to the meal. Every dish is highly recommended! The sourdough bread, the steak tartare, the mussel soup, and the beetroot gnocchi were my absolute highlights. It was a wonderful evening!

Update: I've been there several times since then. Within just a year, Kredo has already become a true gem in Göttingen's culinary scene. Initial criticism – e.g., the size of the side dish portions – was responded to very quickly, and this paid off! A very good reputation has been built over the summer and fall, so reservations should definitely be made in advance when visiting. The menu is constantly evolving; the menu adapts to the product availability (regional concept!), requests are readily accommodated, and the wine list has been expanded and diversified. Even the furnishings have been updated (chairs, soundproofing). The service is friendly and informative. To get the most comprehensive impression, we recommend the large evening menu, optionally with a wine pairing! Old post: I was one of the lucky ones who was able to attend the pre-opening. Despite the tension that (I assume) always prevails on the first evening, the service was flawless! The staff were super friendly, and you wouldn't have guessed it was their first night there. A truly comfortable atmosphere. The food, however, was quite a surprise! Zutz serves a very high standard of cuisine here, impressive. I don't want to give too much away, but it's truly worth it. Simple recipes, very refined, and made with truly high-quality ingredients (a promise of quality!). The wine list is sophisticated and unique. The interior can be described as harmonious, tasteful, elegant, and understated. The view towards the lake: Wow!

This review is about the Seebar downstairs, NOT the upstairs restaurant which according to my aister is posh and really nice. The downstairs bar was ok, they had a good cheese/poppy seed cake, tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc. You paid 1€ deposit for glasses and reusable plastic cups which I support (cuts down on waste and rubbish) Of course you end up with cash instead of money in your bank account which was inconvenient for me, but I am more than happy to accept. The location is stunning, the place is good and I recommend it!

I thought the price was good. You can sit relaxed without feeling like you have to vacate your seat. I thought it was a wonderful place.

The KREDO in Göttingen is an absolute highlight for me and actually deserves 6 out of 5 points – if that were possible! The location on the lake is simply stunning: a wonderful, tranquil atmosphere with a fantastic view of the water, especially from the terrace, which, in good weather, offers a truly postcard-worthy setting. Here, you can not only eat excellently, but also really breathe deeply and enjoy. The food was fantastic – finely balanced in flavor, with high-quality ingredients and exciting, creative combinations that never seem overdone. Every component on the plate had meaning and depth. The portion sizes were also absolutely satisfying – you'll not only be delighted, but also satisfied. For me, it's the perfect blend of culinary sophistication and honest, wholesome cuisine. The service was warm, attentive, and professional – exactly what you'd expect from an upscale restaurant, without being stuffy. You can tell that the work here is done with attention to detail and true passion. Conclusion: If you're in Göttingen or the surrounding area, you shouldn't miss a visit to KREDO. It was a beautiful summer day with the family, with great food, super friendly service, and a fantastic location overlooking the lake. Our dachshund was also warmly welcomed and given a bowl of water. My parents thought it was the best trout they'd had in a long time! The grilled asparagus with its two sauces and the truffle mashed potatoes were also simply delicious! Overall, the food was very creative and lovingly prepared. A real treat and highly recommended to anyone who loves good food!

The perfect location for parties, events, and weddings. I was booked as a wedding and event DJ for a birthday party and can only report positive things: A fantastic view, flooded with light, and a super-friendly and well-coordinated service and management team.

We got married here last year and ate here again for our anniversary, and I highly recommend it to anyone! The service is a 12/10, and the food is also of outstanding quality. Even though it's a bit more expensive, it's worth every penny. My husband is gluten intolerant, which wasn't a problem. Our dog was also no problem and was well looked after 🙏🏾

It couldn't have been better. We had sourdough bread with butter, ham, strake, and hummus. For the main course, we had beef fillet, perfectly prepared. We finished with the chocolate dessert. A strong finish. Every bite was a surprise. I'm very satisfied.

Unreserved recommendation. The three of us were there for Easter and I'm still raving about it. From the first bite of sourdough bread at the beginning to the last spoonful of Pavlova, it was a poem - with great service, a pleasant atmosphere and a beautiful view of the lake. It should definitely be said that you should definitely have eaten something before you go there. These portion sizes at these prices can be described as exorbitant. The taste of the food was really good, but as I said, a touch of nothing. The large table directly in front of the counter was also rather suboptimal as there was constant movement and customer conversations. Plus an over-motivated waiter with a special sense of humor. So not very satisfactory and then this bill came along. Sorry, definitely not again.

Perfect all around - one can only praise it. The food is perfectly composed and the family style presentation is the perfect way to eat there. Because this way you can try out the many delicacies. I thought it was great that my vegetarian daughter was integrated perfectly and informally and that she was also served exciting and tasty food.

We celebrated there with 22 people and the food was delicious. Of course, the little ones were able to make special requests and were served early so that they didn't get restless. Vegans and vegetarians were also catered for and what was particularly noteworthy was the service. Super nice and attentive, it was a pleasure to celebrate there in every way. The ambience by the lake cannot be beaten; bright rooms convey a holiday flair. 5 out of 5 stars from me in all categories!

Unser Besuch im Kredo war – wie immer – ein echtes Erlebnis. Schon beim Eintreten wurden wir herzlich von Dennis und Thomas empfangen, die mit ihrer freundlichen und aufmerksamen Art den Abend perfekt abrundeten. Der Service war professionell, dabei aber nie aufdringlich. Kulinarisch setzte Küchenchef Timo erneut Maßstäbe. Jeder Gang war hervorragend, doch zwei Gerichte stachen besonders hervor: die Burgundertrüffel-Gnocchi – eine perfekte Balance aus intensiven Aromen und zarter Textur – sowie das Hereforder Rinderfilet, das auf den Punkt gegart war und durch seine Qualität und Geschmackstiefe überzeugte. Die Liebe zum Detail und die erstklassige Produktqualität machen das Kredo zu einem echten Juwel in Göttingen. Wir kommen definitiv wieder – und freuen uns schon jetzt auf den nächsten Abend voller Genuss.

We went to Kredo for Lakeside Brunch and can only recommend it. They were also able to easily accommodate my request for a gluten-free brunch, including gluten-free bread. The waitresses were very friendly and accommodating, even with special requests. Definitely recommended for people with allergies and intolerances.

It would have been super nice if your opening times had been updated on maps and on site. So we drove all the way for free :/

Very good service. The goose portion we ordered was not crispy and overpriced at €36 without any side dishes. The steaks served at the same time were fatty and English without asking. We regret that we will no longer visit this lovely restaurant.

Unusual menu, everything from d. Region, nice ambience, attentive service, reasonable prices - clean washrooms. Parking spaces, almost everything is barrier-free. The exception is the toilets, which are located in the basement - 1 floor below...

Super nice restaurant. The price is worth it. We were there for breakfast, but the food is also very tasty in the evening. Minimal compromises on coffee, although the complaining is at a high level.

Great location on the lake with a beautiful view. Interior stylish and we were greeted very nicely. A reserved table could still be chosen as it was not very busy at afternoon coffee time on a weekday. Cake and coffee specialties were very good, but also expensive. A young man served us with exuberant friendliness and a slight aloofness. At the next table he was talking so loudly with the other guests that we had to briefly interrupt our conversation because we could no longer understand each other. At 4:40 p.m. he came to the table, put his cell phone on the table, pointed to it and said that he would get €22.10. The older lady who had invited me, irritated, reached for her wallet and paid immediately. Only when we asked were we made aware that the house would be closed at 4:30 p.m. Here I would have just liked a friendly note before checking out, especially since four other tables were occupied. That put a bit of a damper on what was otherwise a very nice visit to the Kredo. Not everyone expects a café area to be closed at this time.

Very good food, nice view (a bit noisy), but service too slow and uncoordinated. We waited forever (30 minutes) for the dessert menu and then the dessert (2 pieces of cake). Coffee and espresso were already drunk/cold. Unfortunately, that spoils the good first impression.

I had reserved a table for 8 people for a Saturday evening. A table inside was agreed upon because it might get too cold outside (the boss's recommendation). But we got a table on the terrace; But then the temperature was okay. What was not announced, however, was an event at the restaurant right next to the restaurant with unpleasantly loud disco music, which made normal conversation on the terrace much more difficult. If I had known that, I would have reserved somewhere else. The first problem arose with the aperitif. Campari soda was ordered and confirmed by two guests and a brown bitter was served: “It’s just as good as Campari.” It wasn't as good: a watered down brownish drink - not remotely comparable to a Campari. It was unclear how to deal with the menu. There are no menus in the true sense - the courses are served on shared plates and the four of you share the food with each other. Well, you can do that, but it has the disadvantage that (at least partially) after the first removal, the appetizing structure of the food can only be seen as an unsightly mud on the plates. The quality of the food (4 courses) was quite different. The pickled salmon trout "Simm" was rather neutral in taste, but the char was quite fine. The tough piece of Duroc loin and the unpleasantly fibrous beans from the “Kredo Hof” were almost inedible, which even the delicious dessert couldn’t save. Astonishing: the second bottle of Pinot Gris was clearly undrinkable - and, among other things, strangely salty, which the waiter didn't believe and was only willing to exchange the bottle after trying it himself. It should be noted that the overall behavior of the waitress is quite distant and chummy, which is probably not good for a sophisticated restaurant. Overall, a disappointing evening for which I apologized to my guests. I won't be coming back for a while.

Ich hatte für einen Samstagabend einen Tisch für 8 Personen reserviert. Abgesprochen war ein Tisch innen, da es eventuell draußen zu kühl werden sollte (Empfehlung des Chefs). Wir bekamen aber einen Tisch auf der Terrasse; die Temperatur war aber dann okay. Nicht angekündigt allerdings war ein Event des Restaurants unmittelbar neben dem Restaurant mit unangenehm lauter Disco-Musik, die eine normale Unterhaltung auf der Terrasse erheblich erschwerte. Hätte ich das gewusst, hätte ich woanders reserviert. Das erste Problem stellte sich schon beim Aperitif. Bestellt und bestätigt wurde von zwei Gästen Campari-Soda, serviert wurde ein brauner Bitter: "Das ist genauso gut wie Campari". Es war nicht genauso gut: ein verwässerter bräunlicher Drink - nicht annähernd vergleichbar mit einem Campari. Unklar war, wie mit der Speisekarte umzugehen war. Menüs im eigentlich Sinne gibt es nicht - die Gänge kommen auf gemeinsamen Tellern angerichtet und man teilt sich die Speisen zu viert untereinander. Gut, das kann man machen, aber es hat den Nachteil, dass (wenigstens teilweise) nach der ersten Entnahme der appetitlich angerichtete Aufbau der Speisen nur noch als unschöner Matsch auf den Tellern zu erkennen ist. Die Qualität des Essens (4 Gänge) war durchaus unterschiedlich. Die gebeizte Lachsforelle "Simm" war eher geschmacksneutral, der Saibling dafür recht fein. Fast ungenießbar war das zähe Duroc Karreestück und die unangenehm faserigen Bohnen vom "Kredo Hof", was auch das köstliche Dessert nicht mehr retten konnte. Erstaunlich: die zweite Flasche Grauburgunder war deutlich untrinkbar - u.a. auf merkwürdige Weise salzig, was der Kellner gar nicht glauben mochte und erst nach eigenem Probieren zu einem Austausch der Flasche bereit war. Anzumerken ist das insgesamt recht distanzlos, kumpelhafte Verhalten der Bedienung, was einer im Anspruch gehobenen Gastronomie nicht gut anstehen dürfte. Insgesamt ein enttäuschender Abend, für den ich mich bei meinen Gästen entschuldigte. Ich werde erst mal nicht wiederkommen.

My relatives keep telling me how good the food was. We've also eaten there many times and every time I'm so impressed with the food. It's fine dining but with no snobbery. Such a warm and friendly atmosphere.

The Kredo is a unique, great place. We often dined there and were always thrilled by the food, the wonderful ambience and the absolutely great team! Based on our great experiences, we decided to celebrate our wedding in Credo. It was such a great day! We hardly had to worry about anything and all of our wishes were fulfilled. Everyone was so kind and helpful and our guests couldn't stop raving about the food and this restaurant. This is an absolute recommendation :)

Das Kredo bietet einerseits eine Möglichkeit zu Kaffee und Kuchen mit Außenbestuhlung und andererseits ein Restaurant auf 2 Ebenen, alles mit Blick auf den Kiessee! Die Atmosphäre ist einladend lichtdurchflutet, von vielen Tischen hat man die Möglichkeit auf den See zu blicken. Die Speisekarte ist nicht zu groß aber ausreichend vielfältig (vegetarische Speisen). Der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Spreisen waren ansprechend und lecker. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis hat sehr gut gepasst! Der Gastraum ist ebenerdig sodass alles barrierefrei ist, wenn nötig. Das gibt auch für das saubere WC. Wir hatten nach einen Spaziergang am See einen schönen, geschmackvollen Abend - gerne wieder !

Wir waren mit der Familie dort und hatten einen Tisch auf der Aussenterrasse, was sehr schön war. Hin und wieder kam je nach Windrichtung der unangenehme Geruch der Mülltonnen herüber, aber das geht wohl nicht anders. Das Essen hat uns allen geschmeckt , war sehr schön angerichtet und wirklich gut. Den Preis fanden wir auch ok. Die Bedienung war etwas eigen muss man sagen. Als ich reinkam stand ich längere Zeit , ohne das mir mal von einem der drei Mitarbeitern signalisiert wurde, dass man sich gleich kümmern würde, etwas verloren rum. Bei den Bestellungen sollte unser Sohn nahezu belehrt werden, dass man schon auf die Empfehlung des Personals hören sollte … am Ende kann meiner Meinung nach jeder bestellen , wie er es möchte ,oder? Der Nachtisch wurde falsch an den Tisch gebracht , nämlich genau andersrum, worauf der Kellner meinte, es wäre genauso gekommen, wie wir ihn bestellt hätten. Macht man einfach nicht. Alles in Allem sicherlich eine sehr schöne Location , das Essen ist auch gut, dass Personal sollte dringend nich mal überlegen, wie man mit Gästen umgeht , denn ein Restaurant steht und fällt mit dem Service am Ende des Tages

The restaurant scores particularly well with its location, right on the Kiessee! The food is clear, regional and priced upscale - but the taste is really very good and far from 0/8/15. The service is friendly but needs to be improved: As a guest, it's not very nice to sit "forever" in front of empty plates because no one comes to clear them away. Please be sure to improve this - then I'll give it 5 stars.
