Outdoor terrace with close seating. There are nicer places in the area for a quick drink stop. I found €4.20 for 0.2 l Fanta to be quite expensive.

Pizza was warmed up, soggy on the inside, chewy on the outside and lukewarm. The service was at first pushy, then disinterested. The only positive thing was the location.

Lovely trendy cafe on Maximillian strasse. They have amazing coffee, trendy elegant vibes, friendly staff, and a big menu for breakfast and all day dining! Aside from lovely pasta and different dishes, their breakfast and ambiance is lovely! In my opinion, The best pancakes in Munich!! Fluffy and full of love! Absolutely recommend!

Even the chic ambience can't compensate for the poor service and when I read the other reviews here, I'm not the only one who thinks so. I was here with friends and we were treated so unfriendly that I will no longer eat at Roma. Disrespect from the manager towards the birthday girl and her guests. Not wanting to implement explicit reservations and then giving zero service. A friend had to run in from outside to order an Aperol Spritz because no waiters came to us, not even when we asked. (Visitor numbers were moderate for a Friday evening) Nevertheless, we were later told “Order more!” The customer is king is certainly not the guiding principle here. We changed to another bar before midnight, which saved the mood and was definitely the best decision of the evening. But I wouldn't celebrate my birthday here.

Very very unfriendly and rude manager. Didn't take our reservation and didn't even try to offer us an alternative. When we asked what was going on with our reservation, he called us “smarts” and complained that we hadn’t ordered anything yet.

The waitresses were nice, but the manager was very rude!! We wanted to celebrate a friend's birthday and had already made a reservation, which was not noticed when we arrived. Instead of being offered an alternative, we were rudely told that we should order more... Although Café Roma has a nice atmosphere, the manager needs to brush up on his human and social skills. We then decided to go to another bar, which was much better!!

It's a shame that zero stars are not possible, because the staff was totally rude, reservations were not taken into account, kitchen opening times were given incorrectly and after a request for a birthday surprise, a disrespectful answer was given! We had made a special reservation for 15 people for their 18th birthday, but we could have left it alone.

Never again!! Bad service, burnt pizza, stale bread, soft lettuce with mushy tomatoes. On top of that, super slow service and acting as if everything was perfect ☝️ No apology or accommodation. It's a shame ☹️

I went to have lunch today. When I entered the restaurant, there were two waiters standing there. When I told them I was alone, one of them pointed to the right and told me to sit anywhere on that side. As I walked towards them, they were laughing among themselves behind me. Is this racism?

The cuisine and the pastries are wonderful, and the coffee is also good. Good location to sit relaxed indoors and outdoors.

Guests with class and class do not sit in this restaurant. The guests are a mix of braggarts and wannabes. If you want to punish yourself for your money or want to carry your brands around on your loaf or wrist, this restaurant is the perfect place for you. You will be greeted unfriendly at the entrance. The waitress was also unfriendly. The high prices on the menu are not at all proportional to the poor service. Outside, the guests sit tightly packed together, table to table, with hardly any distance between themselves and their neighbors.

We visited the café yesterday at 10:00 a.m. but were immediately turned away by the manager. Despite free tables and my colleagues planning to dine between 11am and 12pm, he refused to assign us a table on the grounds that the café was “not an office”. And showed us the door, exit, His rude behavior and inappropriate clothing didn't seem very professional. Probably an unskilled skilled worker from abroad? This negative experience led us to switch to Café Bühne where the service was excellent. Due to the unprofessional handling by the management of the first cafe, I cannot recommend this one.

During our visit to the café we were very disappointed with the manager's demeanor. Not only did he appear rude in his communication, but his appearance also raised concerns: his condition appeared as if he had consumed alcohol and his clothing was inappropriate and unprofessional for a managerial role. These circumstances contributed to our decision to leave the cafe and go somewhere else where the service met expectations. It is unfortunate that the management of this cafe does not meet the standards one would expect from a hospitality business. Based on this experience, I can only recommend others to avoid this cafe until there is a significant improvement in customer handling and professionalism.

The reopened Café Roma is an enrichment for Maximilianstrasse. Despite the high see-and-be-seen factor, especially on the terrace, a really good kitchen has opened here. Facilities and ambience are excellent. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive (especially when sitting inside). There is potential for optimization in the outdoor area. If it's full when the sun is shining, there aren't enough service staff. The lighting in the toilets on the 1st floor is too dark. When you come in from the outside terrace in the bright sunshine, you don't see anything at first.

Spontaneous visit for an Aperol Spritz and tiramisu, which was very creamy, rich layered and flavoured, and I am not even the biggest fan of it. The overall ambience (both inside and outside, facing the museum and main shopping street) and atmosphere is quite sophisticated, and rather distinct from majority regular restaurants you can find in Munich — no wonder for Maximilianstraße, which of course mirrors in prices and public, mix of tourists and posh/wannabe posh crowd. Nice terrace area, which actually resembles the terrace, and not just tables with chairs randomly standing on the sidewalk fighting for space with pedestrians - suitable for long stay and some relaxed drinks. Overall I left with a good impression and curious to dine in once, although couldn’t help noticing that our waiting staff looked rather uninterested and was on a slower side, which doesn’t look like an expectional case according to the reviews.

I'm sorry to share my experience at Roma Café, but it's important to be honest, especially when it comes to racist treatment. My friends and I were looking forward to a leisurely afternoon, but what we experienced was far from it. When we entered the café we were immediately greeted with derogatory looks. Our appearance seemed to bother the wait staff and made us feel unwelcome. Nevertheless, we decided to stay and order something. Placing the order was a struggle as the waitress ignored us and favored other guests. After we were finally able to order, we waited a full 40 minutes for our food while other tables that had arrived after us were served. It was obvious that we were being racialized because of our appearance. The experience at Roma Café was not only disappointing but also hurtful. No guest should ever be discriminated against because of their origin or appearance. I sincerely hope that the cafe rethinks its attitude towards customers and strives to create a more inclusive and respectful environment. Until then, unfortunately I cannot recommend visiting the Roma Café.

On February 8th, 2024 at 11:30 p.m., when I wanted to meet four friends for a drink at the end of the day, we decided to visit this cafe. When we arrived, we quickly discovered an outdoor space for ourselves. After waiting for 20 minutes and asking for the menu several times, I decided to go into the premises and politely ask for a menu. Finally they kindly allowed me to take these outside myself (I noticed there was a ticket for 5 people). Once we had chosen our drinks, we had to wait another 27 minutes until the waiter Mr Nikolas (he didn't want to tell me his last name) kindly decided to take our order - although "take" is a rather polite description. He spoke in an arrogant tone that I had never heard before and said: "Everything works differently here." Due to the long wait and the really disrespectful behavior, my friends were tired of ordering anything there. I still decided to have a soft drink, but I wasn't allowed to order it because things are different there and you can't order a drink. As if that wasn't enough, when we sat down, the waiters in the restaurant laughed at us because we didn't correspond to their ideal image. Apparently a Balmain sweater or a Ferragamo belt didn't meet the fancy waiters' expectations. Here, customers are judged by their appearance and anyone who doesn't fit the mold is driven away with derogatory, conceited and disrespectful comments. Unfortunately, this visit to Café Roma will be my last. So far I've always been there at lunchtime, when the waiters were normal and you weren't treated like a second-class citizen, as if you weren't worth sitting in this restaurant.

On February 9, 2024, around 11 p.m., my colleagues and I decided to have a drink at Roma Cafe. Unfortunately, we experienced a disrespectful attitude from the wait staff at the reception, who apparently laughed and stared at us because of our non-German origins. After 20 minutes without a menu, we had to actively ask for it and finally received one for five people, which one of my colleagues had to fetch himself. Drink selection and ordering took another 27 minutes due to rudeness. Because of this experience, some of the group lost interest and only one person ordered anything. When we got up, the waiter said "that's not how it works for us" and we all left, not recommended, very snooty important tuher.

The cool ambience inside and the terrace speaks for itself. When the weather was nice, the service was unfortunately a bit overwhelmed, which meant long waiting times. Reasonably priced for Maximilianstrasse. We only had drinks.

Horrible service not friendly staff towards kids long waiting to be served. Worst hospitality I’ve had in my life.

First we waited 40 minutes for someone to ask us what we were going to eat, and then another 30 minutes for someone to bring us the food we ordered. At some point they took the table away from us and gave us a small table because our little son wasn't counted as a guest, and only gave it to us for two people even though there was still one seat available in the restaurant.

Impossible shift manager on Saturday evening! We have never experienced anything so unfriendly, much to the chagrin of the rest of the staff, who confirmed that the gentleman often speaks to guests in an impossible tone.

It's a pleasant café for in between meals and the drinks are delicious.

@Markus Lange Da Sie mich persönlich mit vollem Namen erwähnen, was sicherlich datenschutzrechtlich nicht einwandfei sein dürfte, äussere ich mich kurz persönlich zum Vorfall. Sie waren nur ca 10 Minuten im besagtem Lokal. Ganz im Gegensatz zu den 2 russisch oder ukrainischen Damen, zu denen Sie gestossen sind, die ca 4 Stunden dort verbrachten. Ein Tischwechsel wäre sicher auch kein Problem geworden wenn Ihre Damen mich nicht 3 mal als Ar.....loch beschimpft hätten. Mehr möchte ich dazu nicht sagen.

Den Bock zum Gärtner gemacht: Achtung! Sehr schlechter Service, wir wollten nach einem mehrstündigen Aufenthalt und einem Trinkgeld von fast 70 EUR unseren Platz verlängern, wurden aber von einem Schichtleiter (Waldemar Bock), der sich dazu noch fälschlicherweise als "Geschäftsführer" gerierte, mit dem Hinweis darauf, dass nun reserviert sei, zum Gehen gedrängt, obwohl im Obergeschoß alle Plätze frei waren ("Es sei dort geschlossen"), im EG gerade Plätze frei wurden und der für uns zuständige Kellner meinte, wir könnten auf unseren Plätzen verbleiben. Stattdessen sehr arroganter und unangemessener Umgang mit uns, die den tatsächlichen Geschäftsführer persönlich kennen und seit vielen Jahre Gäste sind. Nur noch auf kurzfristigen Umsatz mit Touristen fixiert, dem angestellten Schichtleiter ist die Reputation der Lokalität offensichtlich gleichgültig, solange sein Gehalt monatlich kommt. Wir werden den Ort künftig meiden, schade für den Inhaber, der aufgrund dessen Verhalten nun den Verlust von Stammgästen und einen schlechten Ruf hinnehmen muss.

Fantastic desserts and splendid location

The location of Café Roma is hands-down one of the best in all of Munich. The dazzling Museum of Five Continents as well as the surrounding square, are awe-inspiring to behold as you sip on a cup of your favourite coffee. A perfect spot to enjoy a break and take in the might and splendor of German architechture.

Gemütliche, elegante Location direkt an der Maximiliansstraße mit großem Außenbereich. Innen erinnert es ein bisschen an Moulin Rouge, mit Farbgestaltung und Deko (You are in the wrong place cutie?), aber angenehm. Service aufmerksam und schnell, Tische leider etwas klein für Essen, Getränke und Condimenti, man kann sich aber arrangieren. Qualität von Pizza, Pasta hoch, der Primitivo lecker. Preislich im angemessenem Rahmen für Lage und Qualität, empfehlenswert.

Top essen, schöne Location. Eher teuer aber guter Service. Kann ich auf jeden Fall empfehlen.

We were staying at a hotel just down the street and went here a couple of times during our trip to Munich. I enjoyed breakfast at Cafe Roma much more than I enjoyed dinner, but there is friendly service and good food. Their menu has a decent variety of options.

So good to have great service - not something that one can take for granted in Munich nowadays. The food was perfect, cooked and spiced just right, the coffee martini deserves a special mention - absolutely delicious. Dessert ordered was a Tiramisu, it was perfect. And once again 5Stars for the service and friendliness of the team.

Das Restaurant ist sehr schön und direkt an der Maximilianstraße, also auch eine super Lage. Die ist leider auch im Preis angekommen, für meinen Geschmack zu teuer für die am Ende doch recht durchschnittlichen Gerichte. Hinzu kommt, dass das Personal sehr gestresst wirkte. Wir saßen drinnen in Küchennähe und haben mehrere Gespräche des Personals mithören können, wie sie vor uns über andere Gäste geschimpft haben. Wenn so über mich geredet werden würde, würde mich das durchaus stören.

Als Vorspeise gab es einen sehe guten Salat mit Melone, Rucola, Romaten und Avocado. Sehe empfehlenswert! Dazu Aperitife von Aperol. Die Pizza mit Salami, Ricotta und Feigen war sehr lecker! Sehr netter und zuvorkommender Service Für die Location sind die Preise auch ok

Great place with great staff! The menu is very good and offers plenty of options. The Italian cuisine is exceptionally good, portions are quite big and the pasta is full of flavours. While Asian kind of dishes and salads among with soups are also very delicious. If you're loving sea food then Singapoore bowl is must try with lots of salmon, tuna and shrimps.

Mein Mann und Ich waren letztens zum Mittagessen im Cafe Roma. Die Lage ist toll und das Cafe Innen ist sehr modern und schön. Wir wurden freundlich begrüßt und netterweise auch direkt vom Manager zum Tisch gebracht. Die Mitarbeiter waren generell sehr freundlich. Das Clubsandwich und die Nudeln waren lecker. Eten is prima, pizza net niet lang genoeg in oven maar voor de rest prima. Personeel is niet echt geïnteresseerd. Alles wordt snel en achteloos op de tafel gezet, niet echt betrokken.

Entspanntes Cafe / Restaurant um gemütlich die Zeit zu verbringen. Im Sommer, auf der Terasse, ein absoluter Traum
