Spectacular place on Maximilanum strasse. Beautiful atmosphere with beautiful illuminated decoration. Good price and variety for lunch and dinner.

The reopened Café Roma is an enrichment for Maximilianstrasse. Despite the high see-and-be-seen factor, especially on the terrace, a really good kitchen has opened here. Facilities and ambience are excellent. The service is friendly and attentive (especially when you sit inside); a little more service staff could be deployed outside on weekends.

I've been to Café Roma a lot now. The service, the food and the atmosphere are always perfect. Stylish furnishings and a nice terrace for good weather. Simply a place where you enjoy eating and you feel really comfortable.

The staff, acting as enforcers of some unspoken decree, descended upon us with the zeal of those who believe that order must prevail, even at the expense of reason. “No card games,” they proclaimed, as though the shuffling of cards might summon chaos itself. Our explanations fell on deaf ears, our intentions dismissed. This establishment, with its draconian policies and Kafkaesque enforcement, stands as a monument to the stifling of harmless joy. We came for fellowship, for conversation, for the simple pleasure of playing a game—but we left under the weight of an oppression that speaks volumes about the soul of this place. If you value spontaneity, creativity, or even the slightest whiff of freedom, steer clear of this dour house of rules. For here, the party is not yours to enjoy—it belongs to the Party. And as if to crown their ineptitude, the virgin mojito—bereft of its very essence—arrived without sugar. Imagine a mocktail so devoid of sweetness that it mirrored the sterile, joyless atmosphere of the establishment itself. Even in its purity, it was a disappointment. Nice restaurant/café, but what's really not nice is when you come after 10pm, the place is almost empty and the manager tells you you can't sit at the table because the table isn't for two people. Even if the table is for a few more people, the shop is almost empty and after 10 p.m. on a Sunday the shop will no longer be completely full. It's a shame because the ambience and everything else is really nice.

Music was just way too loud and we ordered 2 pizzas and they were by far the worst pizzas I have EVER tasted in my life. Cold and way too salty. Zero stars if I could but the service was ok.

We had lunch at Cafe Roma yesterday (Sunday). We were immediately greeted in a very friendly manner by the manager and he immediately tried to offer us a suitable table. Our waiter was also very friendly. In general, the cafe was very well filled - despite everything, drinks and food came quite quickly. My conclusion: great spot in Munich for brunch or lunch! Always my pleasure !

I love the decor upstairs but I forgot to take a pix. The way the afternoon sun shines thru the windows against the green walls makes it very special. Anyway I digress, the people around us were regulars, and we were some tourists who stuttered with our A1 Hochdeutsch that probably amused the server. I forgot how large the portions were in Germany. And we could not finish the pasta.

We had a nice lunch, nothing fancy. The staff were friendly even though they were very busy. Would recommend fora quick and filling lunch.

Wonderfully mixed audience - everything from the first student date right up to the pensioner's coffee wreath. Great location & great food - from pizza to main courses to dessert and cakes there is something for every taste. I haven't found a dish yet that I didn't like. And the best thing: there is actually always a place - even without a reservation (although that does make sense)

It's a shame, but if you charge €4.90 for 0.4 liters of beer, then you shouldn't be committing fraud! Pouring two fingers below the calibration mark is cheating! The calibration mark is for the drink and not for the foam

One of my favorite places, where I like to return regularly. They did change the times for their brunch - only until 12PM, which is the food I prefer from the lunch/ dinner. Understandable as they were running two menu cards at the same time during weekends and the kitchen struggled.

We were simply thirsty. Tourist clothes, family, children. We were given many, many glasses for the bottle of water without asking. The waiter was friendly and extremely attentive.

The owner is very rude we got water bottles with us from outside but we weren’t drinking from them so I told him that and he said “ I don’t wanna see them “ in a rude tone and one female worker was very rude.

Food was okay but not cheap and the drinks were outrageously expensive (glass of Lugana 0.2l = €12.90).

Lovely trendy cafe on Maximillian strasse. They have amazing coffee, trendy elegant vibes, friendly staff, and a big menu for breakfast and all day dining! Even the chic ambience can't compensate for the poor service and when I read the other reviews here, I'm not the only one who thinks so. I was here with friends and we were treated so unfriendly that I will no longer eat at Roma. Disrespect from the manager towards the birthday girl and her guests. Not wanting to implement explicit reservations and then giving zero service. A friend had to run in from outside to order an Aperol Spritz because no waiters came to us, not even when we asked. (Visitor numbers were moderate for a Friday evening) Nevertheless, we were later told “Order more!” The customer is king is certainly not the guiding principle here. We changed to another bar before midnight, which saved the mood and was definitely the best decision of the evening. But I wouldn't celebrate my birthday here.

Instead of being offered an alternative, we were rudely told that we should order more... Although Café Roma has a nice atmosphere, the manager needs to brush up on his human and social skills. We then decided to go to another bar, which was much better!!

Very very unfriendly and rude manager. Didn't take our reservation and didn't even try to offer us an alternative. When we asked what was going on with our reservation, he called us “smarts” and complained that we hadn’t ordered anything yet.

Never again!! Bad service, burnt pizza, stale bread, soft lettuce with mushy tomatoes. On top of that, super slow service and acting as if everything was perfect ☝️ No apology or accommodation. It's a shame ☹️

It's a shame that zero stars are not possible, because the staff was totally rude, reservations were not taken into account, kitchen opening times were given incorrectly and after a request for a birthday surprise, a disrespectful answer was given! We had made a special reservation for 15 people for their 18th birthday, but we could have left it alone.

I went to have lunch today. When I entered the restaurant, there were two waiters standing there. When I told them I was alone, one of them pointed to the right and told me to sit anywhere on that side. As I walked towards them, they were laughing among themselves behind me. Is this racism?

The cuisine and the pastries are wonderful, and the coffee is also good. Good location to sit relaxed indoors and outdoors.

Guests with class and class do not sit in this restaurant. The guests are a mix of braggarts and wannabes. If you want to punish yourself for your money or want to carry your brands around on your loaf or wrist, this restaurant is the perfect place for you. You will be greeted unfriendly at the entrance. The waitress was also unfriendly. The high prices on the menu are not at all proportional to the poor service. Outside, the guests sit tightly packed together, table to table, with hardly any distance between themselves and their neighbors.

We visited the café yesterday at 10:00 a.m. but were immediately turned away by the manager. Despite free tables and my colleagues planning to dine between 11am and 12pm, he refused to assign us a table on the grounds that the café was “not an office”. And showed us the door, exit, His rude behavior and inappropriate clothing didn't seem very professional. Probably an unskilled skilled worker from abroad? This negative experience led us to switch to Café Bühne where the service was excellent. Due to the unprofessional handling by the management of the first cafe, I cannot recommend this one.

During our visit to the café we were very disappointed with the manager's demeanor. Not only did he appear rude in his communication, but his appearance also raised concerns: his condition appeared as if he had consumed alcohol and his clothing was inappropriate and unprofessional for a managerial role. These circumstances contributed to our decision to leave the cafe and go somewhere else where the service met expectations. It is unfortunate that the management of this cafe does not meet the standards one would expect from a hospitality business. Based on this experience, I can only recommend others to avoid this cafe until there is a significant improvement in customer handling and professionalism.
