Neukölln in Italian. Great food, high prices but worth every cent. Attentive and friendly service. Completely satisfied.

The food is certainly not bad, but it's a place you'd normally avoid as a local. Primary reason is that it's quite overpriced for local standards, and you'd have better options for Italian dinner more reasonably priced around the corner. So, it's a place usually crowded with tourists on dates. ;) Also the guy running the place is a bit weird imo, but probably depends on what you like. What left a flavour is that you're asked to pay cash and they refuse to issue a bill. Don't want to know where that cash flow ends up...

I finally felt at home! The most authentic restaurant I've ever found here in Berlin. Highly recommended!!

Carte très moderne. Tagliata de bœuf, spaghettis vongole, côtelette façon milanaise, les pâtes aubergines et pignon de pin, tout était délicieux. Sans oublier la parmigiana d’aubergines, les fleurs de courgettes farcies, le tiramisu en dessert. Service super sympa et le chef qui demande si tout va bien !

Manageable but very good map. Truffle pasta 10/10 and overall very tasty and recommended. Price performance fits!

Good starter (baked goat cheese) and tortelloni filled with pike perch, the Primitivo was also solid. Unfortunately, the tagliatelle were far too soft and almost overcooked (same at the next table). Nice service. Unfortunately, the operators have made quite a mistake when it comes to prices (21€ for 5 small dumplings and 20€ for somewhat unsuccessful, although very tasty, pasta are unfortunately very exaggerated and have nothing to do with the prices on the menu in the photo here (that must come from better times). If you were to go back to a reasonable price level, the store would certainly be recommended.

Seemingly fresh pasta dough and good flavors. But overall very small portions for what you pay, in addition to the rather average interior atmosphere. 21€ for 5 pieces of ravioli is an absolute disgrace. I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Some friends had recommended it to me. Wonderful discovery. Without a doubt one of the best Italian restaurants in Berlin. Highest quality products, impeccable service, friendly and trained staff, informal environment that makes you feel at home. I will definitely be back.

Unfortunately I’m disappointed and don‘t quite get what others who recommend and love this place have experienced here, because sadly I can‘t see why others love this place so much. More on this in the following but if you want a short explanation for my 2 stars: we paid around 180€ for 3 persons, 2 of us (me included) had to eat at home afterwards because our portions were tiny (we all had first course, main course and dessert) and for an authentic italian restaurant it was sadly on of the badder experiences I have encountered in my culinary years. But now for the long version. I chose this restaurant because my dad was in town, we love italian food so after reading the extraordinary good reviews and seeing the nice website with a nice menu selection, I wanted to give it a try. (I worked years in restaurants and I am a big foodie, especially for my italian food, so I love to try new stuff, because why not, it‘s berlin right?) The place: We get there and it is just a brightly lit room with a big window so you can see the whole restaurant. Because the first impression was sadly uninviting (compared to other romantic italian places in berlin) I even had to check if that is the right restaurant because the place looked nothing like the photos, but we were right. The atmosphere and ambiance was just… cold. You walk straight into the dining area with tables scrambled together, bright lights, no candles, no nice tablecloths, just straight up cheap tables and chairs. The chairs are unfortunately also so uncomfortable, that we wanted to go right after eating. For every restaurant, but especially italian, I want to be comfortable. I want to feel at home. I want the feeling I am in Italy right now and I can sit and sit forever and just have nice hour long conversations over a bottle or two of red wine. But all I got from there was just a reaction to stand up and go. I‘m sorry to be so direct but I have no other way to describe it. The most sad part about it: one reason I chose the restaurant was by the way they decorated and printed their menu. (It sounds dumb but after years of trying new restaurants you know when they put in the work for a nice menu, they will do with everything else as well). So I was flabbergasted when the waiter just lay the menu cards down, which were just flipchart boards with a old laminated printed out sheet of paper. The food: Well the food. As stated above we ended up paying 180€ for 3 persons, which isn’t THAT much for berlin, but everytime I pay that much I get a really overall nice experience from the places. So, as you can imagine, this place was nowhere near that. My girlfriend and I had roman artichokes as starters, my dad had porchetta with radicchio. The artichokes were ok, but they just tasted… bland (i guess?!), my dad described as: „They lack the kick“. The porchetta was fine. For main we had: octopus, ravioli with cod and tagliolini with calamaretti. And now it got disappointing for that price: my dad had the octopus main and he got 2 half arms. Like maybe 100g, if even. It tasted good, a little bit too long cooked on one side, so octopus gets rubbery. But like the size was just a joke. I‘m sorry to be so blunt. This dish was 28€(!). I had the ravioli and also here taste was ok, but they lacked a bit of everything and for about 26€ it was just to small (had like 7 ravioli) and too little kick to it. My gf had the tagliolini, which was surprisingly a huge portion, compared to ours. I just don‘t get their measurements of plating? Well the taste was also good but lacked something and were a bit to bitter. I mean that‘s a dish for normally around 16-18€ and it was also like 26€. So all in all I want to say that the food was not bad or uneatable. But we paid 180€ which is just not right for what you get. A ok-quality food with lack of passion behind the taste and an unromantic atmosphere where you don’t want to stay hours. So my rating is 2 stars for that the food was ok and the chef was nice, but I‘m sorry. Didn‘t get the vibe and sadly not something to visit again.

Very simple atmosphere. The food was rather average. Homemade pasta, but hardly seasoned, octopus fried too hot and therefore dry. Starters also tasteless. It's a shame actually, I had expected a lot more from the positive reactions. Prices, however, are rather above average. Only the dessert was OK.

Be sure to order the pistachio parfait! Delicious. Otherwise puristically good :)

Definitely the best Italian restaurant in Berlin. Excellent choice of wines.

The food is very tasty, the ingredients are of high quality. But you should definitely bring your time, we had to wait a long time for the hot dishes. When several tables are occupied it is very noisy.

I don’t appreciate being lied to my face. We made a reservation well in advance and when arrived at a nearly empty restaurant, were sat at the worst table near the bathroom. When we asked for a better placement, the staff said everything was booked already. Only after reaching out directly to the chef we were allowed to sit at a table which was not ideal, but would do. Sure enough later we noticed how a couple who just _walked in_ sat down at a table that we wanted without any reservation. But for us it was “booked and meant only for three people”. Another thing I don’t appreciate is having to wait for ages to get a check. We even had to ask twice. All in all, very unpleasant and unfriendly service

Wir kommen seit über 4 Jahren in die Babbo Bar und eine Rezension ist wohl überfällig, andererseits ist es auch schon selbsterklärend. In regelmäßgen Abständen von 4-5 Wochen besuchen wir dieses Restaurant. Kleine, feine Karte und alles frisch und hausgemacht. Immer wieder neue, gute und interessante Weinempfehlungen Der Service ist durchwseg sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Danke an das ganze Team. Und wir werden auch in Zukunft mit viel Vorfreude dorthin essen gehen.

For sure, BabboBar is one of the best Italian restaurant in Berlin. As simple as that.

Wir hatten selbstgemachte Pasta mit Trüffel und Fischsuppe. Sehr gut! Preislich allerdings etwas zu hoch und gefühlt nicht mehr im Verhältnis.

Das Essen ist lecker, keine Frage. Aber irgendwie steht einfach der Preis nicht im Verhältnis zum Gesamterlebnis und zur Qualität des Essens und des Service. Das Ambiente ist eher laut und ungemütlich, man fühlt sich eher wie in einer Kneipe. Die Getränke und vor allem die Weine sind sehr teuer.

Das Essen ist gut. Regelrecht schockiert waren wir jedoch über das Gebaren des Besitzers, der uns nach Begleichens unserer Rechnung von 360€ bei 6 Personen darauf hinwies, beim nächsten Mal ein No Show berechnen zu müssen. Der Grund: reserviert hätten wir für 8 Personen. Dass wir von vornherein darauf hingewiesen haben, es könnten 1-2 Personen weniger werden und dass ohnehin noch andere Tische frei waren hielt ihn und seinen Kollegen nicht davon ab, uns den gesamten Abend über kritisch tadelnd im Auge zu behalten. Willkommen gefühlt haben wir uns so jedenfalls nicht.

My favourite Italian restaurant in Berlin! The perfect place to visit if you’re craving something exciting to eat, the dishes look and taste like a work of art honestly. And the bread, I cannot stress enough how good the bread is!!! If you can make plain bread taste exciting, you’re doing everything right. Compliments to the chef!

Die Qualität der Speisen und Produkte ist für den Preis nichts Besonderes, es gibt italienische Restaurants in Berlin mit viel besserer Qualität. Außerdem ist der Service schlecht und super versnobt, da er auf jede Art von Kritik eingeht. Ich sage nicht, dass der Kunde immer Recht hat, aber höflich nach der Verzögerung von Getränken und Speisen zu fragen oder zu sagen, dass die Pasta nicht fertig ist, kann kein Grund für unangemessenes und unhöfliches Verhalten des Personals sein. Letztlich ist der Chefkoch nicht nur für die mangelnde Qualität der Produkte und der Speisen verantwortlich, sondern auch für die Auswahl und das Management des Restaurants und seines Teams. Ich würde dieses Restaurant auf keinen Fall empfehlen.

Very delicious for a still reasonable price

Super leckere, frisch selbstgemachte Pasta mit vorzüglichen gut gewählten Zutaten. Frische grandiose Fischgerichte.. alles top. Ambiente gemütlich und einfach. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam, freundlich und der Chef berät schon mal am Tisch. Wer vorzüglich Italienisch Essen möchte ist hier richtig!!!

This is an authentic Italian restaurant with a distinct Roman flavor. With The owner/chef Giacinto coming from Rome it’s no surprise. He uses top ingredients (you can taste the difference) often imported directly from Italy. This was great find and should not be missed by anyone in Berlin looking to eat a meal as if you were in Italy

Ich war in diesem Restaurant öfters mal, allerdings hatte ich die letzten Male leider keine gute Erfahrungen mehr. Das Personal war sehr gestresst, Essen kam mehrmals falsch, unfertiges Essen abgeräumt, Nudeln weich gekocht, Salat nicht angemacht... Daher muss ich sagen, dass das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht mehr stimmt.

Wir waren zu dritt vor Ort & sind soooooo glücklich mit der Entscheidung gewesen, in diesem Wundervollen kleinen Restaurant reserviert zu haben! Die Speisen sind auf den Punkt perfekt gekocht (großen Gruß an die Küche!!!) und liebevoll angerichtet und serviert! Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist definitiv mehr als in Ordnung!!! Wir sind schwer begeistert & Super Glücklich! Es wird ganz bestimmt nicht unser letzter Besuch in diesem kleinen aber feinem Restaurant gewesen sein! Gerade die Weine und Degestive aus Sizilien sind besonders zu erwähnen!!! Danke für diesen tollen Abend, der eine Menge toller Erinnerungen an Italien und die damit verbundenen Köstlichkeiten geweckt hat! Hervorragendes Essen, alles in Handarbeit frisch zubereitet, dadurch etwas längere Wartezeit. Gute Weinberatung, freundlicher Service. Reservieren empfohlen.

Wir haben vorher reserviert, wäre an diesem Dienstag Abend zum Ende des Monats gar nicht nötig gewesen. Wir waren die ersten, und einzigen, ich hatte schon Angst schlecht gewählt zu haben, denn wir waren noch nie hier. Unbegründet, wie ich schnell feststellen konnte. Der Service war freundlich, zuvorkommend und bei den Weinen wurde meine Erwartung sogar übertroffen. Nach dem Essen waren wir uns sicher, hier müssen wir unbedingt sobald als möglich wieder herkommen. Alle Daumen hoch!!

Authentische italienische Küche und sehr freundlich. Man sollte Abends reservieren, wir waren nachmittags dort und können es wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

Kleines Restaurant mit durchschnittlicher Küche und überfordertem Personal. Die von uns bestellte Pasta war weich gekocht, die Vorspeisen ziemlich dürftig. Für 2 Personen zahlt man für ein recht fades Abendessen 100 EUR. Dafür findet man in Berlin zigfach Besseres.

In short: carefully made fresh pasta with amazing sauce. Extensive wine list that goes from Puglia to the Trentino. Seven or eight tables, unpretentious given the high quality of the food. Amazing Octopus Tagliateli. Ideal place for a date or for a get together with a small group of friends. Don’t leave without trying the Tiramisu!

Die beste Pasta, die ich seit langem gegessen habe!

Wow. Che bella sorpresa mi riserva Neukölln stasera, che si rivela ancora una volta ben ricca di chicche gastronomiche orientate a un pubblico dotato di buon gusto e discernimento. Tagliatelle con ragù di capriolo ottime, con quantità molto generose e spalla di cervo brasata con castagne in salsa di vino rosso. Quest'ultimo è uno dei piatti di selvaggina meglio riuscito che abbia mai provato. Più che delizioso: memorabile. Roba da top 5 della vita. Panna cotta ottima. Abbinamenti vini appropriati. Qualità altissima, rapporto qualità prezzo azzeccato (per il tipo di locale) e ospitalità ben a fuoco. Raccomando vivamente.

Charming restaurant. The food is delicious and sophisticated! The owner and cook is a very, very nice person as are the people working at Babbo bar. I highly recommend you to go there to eat or simply for the warm and festive atmosphere!

Paradise for fans of delicate and refined cuisine. Absolutely all the dishes on the menu are prepared with quality food by a talented chef. The wine list offers a selection of excellent wines and the service is always very attentive.

If you want to experience the real taste of Italian dishes with high quality ingredients and extremely good Italian wines, this is the place to go. As in Italy, bring some time to enjoy. There is no rush to get you in and certainly no rush to get you out. This restaurant sets itself apart from them tourist places in the city. My wife and I will certainly be back.

We walked by the restaurant and it looked so cozy. So we sat down and were excited for the food. It took almost an hour before we had our starter, which we feel is a bit long to wait for a starter. Disregarding the long waiting time, the food didn’t really meet our expectations. The risotto didn’t have too much of a flavor and was pretty plain. We also feel we’ve had better carpaccio at other places in Berlin. However, their bread is amazing, the place is super cozy, the staff is friendly and our pasta dish was very delicious. In consideration of the general price levels in Berlin, we feel it was a bit too overpriced compared to the overall quality.

Very Nice starters. Just like Italy, really pure tastes and fantastic presentation. Main course maybe overcooked meat but still rating top because of warm fantastic friendly loving staff. For sure we will be back.

We waited 1h to get a pasta! Even the wine and the water we ordered took that long! No excuse from their side! That’s not professional! Their prices are above average which is their philosophy but then as a client you can expect a good service at least! Really, don’t go there! It’s a shame for a restaurant in general! There are way better Italian restaurants around in the neighbourhood! Rethink your concept babbo bar!

We waited an hour for the food. When it arrived, we still didn’t have our drinks and one of the dish was missing. On top of that poor service, we payed 3.50 because we asked for parmesan on top of pasta?? A shame for an Italian restaurant, you are stealing people.
