I'm extremely disappointed. I made a reservation for 22 people at the end of July to celebrate my birthday. It was only by chance that I found out that Al Pacino is temporarily closed. They didn't tell me, or even thought it necessary to cancel my reservation. Unfortunately, I have to admit that the restaurant has gotten worse. I probably won't go there again.

The food is still really delicious. The service is also impeccable. However, the place is already very run-down. It could be renovated. Otherwise, I like going there.

The place is unspectacular, which is exactly what I like.

- disgusting, nasty food - arrogant waiters - cook very slowly and tasteless 07/16/2025 my family and I came to the restaurant at about 15:30. There was no one else in the restaurant except us. The waiter ignored us on principle and almost never came out to us. There were no other guests, he just didn't want to work and didn't come to us to take orders. They lied to us that everything would be brought quickly. It took us over an hour to bring 2 spaghetti. The carpaccio we ordered was made of only fat and tendons: very tough, impossible to chew. The squid was oversalted.

The restaurant used to be highly recommended, but now, probably after the new ownership change, it's a complete disaster. The food doesn't taste the same as before. The service isn't what it used to be. The portions have become significantly smaller, instead of just a giant plate (see photo), and the hospitality is also gone.

It's very chilled. The waiters are very cool, the food is really good. Drink prices are a bit cringe relative to the food, which is pretty good for Munich and especially the location. I would come again and again; you can lounge around comfortably. 9/10. Portions could be a bit larger, prices a bit cheaper, but whatever, good is good, there's always room for improvement.

The waiter named Rocco has some math to learn and an ear for the guest to have. The food was decent,that's why im giving it 2 stars instead of 1.

We were truly loyal guests for a long time – whether for a quick lunch, a delicious takeaway pizza, or a cozy dinner. Al Pacino was a regular destination for us. Unfortunately, the service has deteriorated significantly in recent months. The treatment of guests who don't pay in cash is particularly disappointing – you're treated rudely, as if paying by card were an imposition. Friendliness now seems to be secondary, even for simple orders like a takeaway pizza for €13! For us, one thing is clear: the level of service, atmosphere, and appreciation for guests that we once valued so highly here is unfortunately no longer present. It's a real shame that such a lovely restaurant has gone in this direction.

Was at Al Pacino's at lunchtime. Good and fairly cheap lunch menu. Attentive service.

The pizza was great! The retro style is fitting for this classic and now traditional Italian restaurant in Munich.

The service was very good and friendly. The ambiance was very appropriate, but there weren't many customers at the time. The food was good, but not exceptional. What I didn't like was that the restaurant advertises itself as Sicilian. Unfortunately, I didn't see any specific Sicilian dishes on the menu (perhaps I didn't look very closely). Worse still, there was no special Sicilian wine on tap. "Nero D'Avola" is only available by the whole bottle. A shame.

Not recommended anymore, especially not later in the evening. Pasta has been very tasty so far, but truffle tagliatelle, which only tastes creamy and with dry truffle shavings on top - that would be 0 stars if it were possible. It's a shame, that was the last time we saw each other.

With a name like that, of course it was Oscar-worthy pizza

I ordered two pizzas, only one arrived.

The name seems to say it all, because Al Pacino is, so to speak, "ubiquitous" - but that's actually pretty cool. Ate here by chance as part of a business trip. At first glance I wasn't entirely sure, but the service and food were impressive. Very tasty - gladly again.

First time eating here, and it was just ok. My lasagna was barely hot and again just ok. I have had much better.

Unfortunately not a good experience. The service was very bad and the pizza dough tasted like expired cookies from a discount store.

Price performance doesn't match at all. Had a mixed fish platter for two people. Every fish was completely overcooked/overfried, unfortunately everything was more than cooked through. Everything was drowned in garlic oil, regardless of whether it was fish or side dishes, so that the actual taste could no longer be tasted. Service mostly seemed annoyed by the quiet business activity. There was no demand for further drinks or for our satisfaction with the food, which was not even half eaten. We didn't have a reservation and visited the restaurant early in the evening around 6 p.m.

I was visiting Munich for work and decided to stop by this restaurant for a quick bite. I was hungry and ordered pasta and a pizza. The pizza is bland the pasta had some flavor not great. The service was horrible!! I had to ask for bread and get my own balsamic vinegar and olive oil. The waiter seemed more interested in folding towels than taking my order. It’s my fault for going Italian in Germany. That’s not all true. I’ve patronize other Italian restaurants in Germany with great customer service. I won’t be returning to this one.

There were four of us and we were looking for a place to eat in the rain (typical tourist). We were lucky to get a place without a reservation. Reception was very friendly and attentive even though we were soaking wet including umbrellas etc. The selection on the menu was "typically Italian" and plentiful, prices were absolutely fine for Munich. The service was friendly and good, the food came relatively quickly despite "special requests". There was regularly someone there to reorder but no one was pushy. For us, it was an absolutely successful spontaneous visit and we would go there again to eat at any time. Best regards to Stanley Tucci's "double" from the service - you were great!

It used to be better portions are smaller than 10 years ago also more varieties like Lasagne verde has been taken out of the menu which was one of the best

We recently went to the restaurant "LA Pacino" in Munich and were amazed by the quality of the food. The menu offers a wide range of Italian specialties, all prepared to a very high standard. The homemade pasta is particularly noteworthy. They are rich and delicious. The service was also very good. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly, and they helped us choose the best dishes. Overall it was a very pleasant dinner and I would recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Italian meal.

Good food but expensive for four scampi with 2 vegetables and 2 potatoes 27 euros excessive. It was more decoration than anything else I'm disappointed and hungry 😂

Very disappointed. No more lunch menus. Spaghetti Bolognese lukewarm, pizza ok, but almost an hour wait and about 10 minutes after the spaghetti. If the restaurant is almost empty, you should be able to serve pasta and pizza at the same time in 20 minutes. Prices rose sharply. Apparently the tenant has changed, nothing like before. Too bad.

We have been to Al Pacino several times and have always been satisfied. Unfortunately not this time. We were 3 people and had a bill of over 140 EUR. Tip 10 EUR given so 150 EUR in total. The waiter then pointed out to us that a Ramazotti or something similar on the house is only available with a tip of 10% or more. At 10 EUR we were just under that... So there was no Ramazotti... Pretty cheeky, not to say outrageous. Our most expensive meal was over 30 EUR and the other dishes were also rather expensive. Overall the food quality is below average. Not really bad, but not a highlight either. Prices have risen sharply recently. There used to be acceptable quality at reasonable prices. Now the price/performance is simply poor. By the way, the bread was a disgrace! For us it was the last visit to Al Pacino.

We had dinner there on a Saturday evening. The food was okay but nothing more. I would have expected a little more from my spaghetti Bolognese, both in terms of taste and portion size. The service was actually nice...until the payment process. With a total price of just under €100, we gave €6. Here the waiter pointedly pointed out to us the usual 10% tip. Unbelievable! Where I come from (not Munich) you tip according to performance!

I've eaten at this restaurant almost every week for years and have been thrilled every time. The quality is excellent and the staff is friendly. When I picked it up I was usually offered a liqueur on the house. The prices are fair. I'm looking forward to visiting there soon. Absolute recommendation!

I'm a regular here at least every two days for lunch. Today the service was very unfriendly and the food wasn't tasty, overall grade 6 today.

We saw Spain winning the Euro there, they stayed open a little more only for us and that was very nice.

Me and another visited 1 month ago. We were seated quickly and waiter didn't well.. Wait around much which was nice. The pizza I got wasn't fully traditional or anything but it tasted good. My biggest issue came with the bill, they added a extra 5 euro tip that was not asked for by any means. I'm pretty sure that should be illegal but I guess your foods aight. I won't return or recommend.

We wanted to try Al Pacino again. It's nice in the summer, when you want to sit in the hustle and bustle, right on Leopoldstrasse. The salad beforehand was fine, fresh and good. Unfortunately only sunflower oil (maybe olive oil, but not extra virgin), which I find strange for an Italian. I expect extra virgin olive oil, especially for this price. The risotto was completely overcooked, a shame for every Italian chef who prepares his risotto with passion. The pizza, nothing that blows your mind either. The dough was nothing special, the sauce was unfortunately unloving and the mozzarella was skimped on. A pizza with truffles can taste very boring, but the price was correspondingly expensive for the truffles. The only downside, the service was very friendly, at least. Adjust your kitchen and maybe we'll come back. All the best!

This evening at 10pm I ordered calamari ala griglia and a pizza to take away. But this isn't calamari, it's U5 squid. This is fried not grilled. Plus it smells really bad. The vegetables are weird too. We couldn't eat it and threw it away. I paid €20.90 for this dish but I can't eat it. This is very bad

The meat was way too cooked, and the pasta were chewy and not fresh made, which is not what you would expect from an italian restaurant unfortunately.... The extra star is because they removed the steak from the bill after we complained.

Friendly service, could be a little more attentive when reordering Good Italian cuisine, prices have risen quite a bit, especially for starters. But tasty.

Edit: The real and true Al Pacino has reopened on Einsteinstrasse for 4 weeks. We can fully recommend this again! The good reviews here at Al Pacino on Leopoldstr are also thanks to this. Because that was the previous owner. Al Pacino Leopoldstr: Unfortunately, prices have increased and the taste quality has equally decreased since it got a new owner. Only every now and then, when one of the old chefs is there, does it taste fantastic. The friendly staff has now been completely replaced. It was our favorite Italian for decades.

In the meantime, prices have risen sharply here too, which is understandable on the one hand, but on the other hand the quality has continued to decline. What used to be a down-to-earth pizzeria is now an Italy that wants to do what it isn't in a classy way. Finally, the pizza was burnt and there was leftover food on my plate. Very unpleasant, the waiter only responded with a shrug of his shoulders. I used to enjoy being guests. I now avoid this restaurant

I ate here one year ago and loved it! But… today we came back and it was so sad to see that the real “Italian taste” is gone! 😳☹️😢 The spaghetti al vongole was oily, without the fresh tast that it had before, the carbonara was also bad… What a pity! Won’t go there anymore.

The carbonara was disappointing across the board. For some reason there is cream in it and no cheese at all. The ham is so intense that you can't really taste anything else - a far cry from the guanciale that's supposed to be in it. The card is also extremely ugly. But the service was quite nice.

I paid a €20 tip without consent. The waiter also made a mistake in my order 👎 Charged me 20€ tips without my authorization, that's not correct d the waiter did a mistake with my order...

The food was very good and the service was good too and considering you've just opened it, everything was great. Every beginning is a little difficult or sometimes a mess, but you did a great job. We'd love to come back.

Prices are super reasonable and affordable given the huge portion and the great taste especially with the pastas and pizzas Drinks are original and tasty with loads of variety. Staff are welcoming, cheerful and professional. The place is very clean including toilettes. It offers various seating options of chairs and couches.

I wanted to have a quick Aperol Spritz in the sun. I thought no problem at the Italian restaurant on Friday afternoon. Unfortunately, that turned out not to be the case. I would point out very rudely: “We are a dining restaurant and that’s not possible for a quick spritz!” OK, that’s a shame, I thought Italians are dolce vita

Went to eat at Al Pacino in Munich, Leopoldstr., at Easter. Unfortunately I made a mistake in the menu when ordering food and wanted to change it again (it was no longer possible, maybe "husband" didn't want to either!) Then instead of a Primitivo I was brought a Piino Grigio. The wine was exchanged, but without an apology and with a very unfriendly expression. The food was nothing exciting (had to pull the big hard rosemary stalks out of my mouth). We also had to wait a long time when paying (we let them know a few times). We were then allowed to experience the absolute impudence when we paid the bill. For the first time we couldn't pay with a credit card (The device supposedly didn't work) and secondly, we were rudely asked why we tip so little at Easter. My husband then added another euro. I wouldn't have done this!!!! I explained to the rude waiters that we were not satisfied. When we got home we discovered that the bill didn't match the drinks and food. Never again Al Pacino!!! I knew the restaurant from before. What happened ?

The pizza dough could have been baked a little longer, especially the edge was too soft.

My guests from abroad wanted to eat pizza and pasta at an Italian restaurant, we randomly found it on the internet and we were very pleased. I can't wait to come here again. Thank you to the entire restaurant team.

As a long-time guest of this restaurant, which I have known for 20 years, I was convinced that I could show my partner the warmth and charm of this place. Before our visit we called to make sure there were still spots available. The gentleman on the phone sounded very nice and assured us that there was a good selection of places available. However, when we arrived the situation was a little different than expected. The restaurant is divided into several rooms, and although there were plenty of empty seats, no one seemed to be making much of an effort. The first table the gentleman offered us was right outside the door, and his joy seemed muted compared to my previous memories. It was only when another gentleman I knew from before intervened that we were led to another table, which was directly in front of the kitchen door. This was more comfortable, but the overall reception left a lot to be desired. The gentleman who first welcomed us also took over the service. Service was solid but not particularly attentive. The food was as good as I remembered it over the years. We ordered a bottle of wine, a pizza and pasta. Despite some disappointments with the reception and service, the restaurant remains for me a place of good food and memories, even if the charm from earlier that day seemed to have faded a bit.

I love this place for their menu and quality of food. The spaghetti agli o olio was just right and the simple pizza margherita which my test of a good pizza was great. The base was crisp and not soggy or too hard. The cheese was yummy. Location is great though parking nearby might be a problem. You will have to walk a bit. Service is great and I found the staff very friendly.

The owner has changed here. Unfortunately for me it's a deterioration. We went here often. Good food at humane prices. Unfortunately, the quality has deteriorated and the price has increased. Staff very friendly but a bit overwhelmed. A pity. We'll look for a new Italian.

Let's start with the positive. Service is very nice, the place is nice. As for the food, I probably saw the chef at his worst day based on the other good comments. Pizza was the most mediocre I've had in many months. Cheese totally subpar, dough very sticky. Dessert for two people was horrible (we tasted 3 things and both had the same opinion on all 3 things). The dessert cost an impressive 16 euros. In terms of quantity, it was no longer like a dessert portion. Salad was very, very manageable in quantity. I absolutely cannot recommend this.

Great restaurant with exceptionally good staff. The pizza was great and I had the best fish soup here. Ideal for an evening with friends as there is a wide selection. There is something for everybody.

Excellent service and quality of pasta a few blocks from the Siegestor in Münich

Very nice restaurant, the food was very tasty, I was there spontaneously with my girlfriend and we got a seat straight away and the waiter (Rocco) was very friendly and always got to us on time. Didn't take long to arrive. The pizzas were very large, the price-performance ratio was right and the pizzas were very tasty and also had a lot of toppings. In summary, I discovered a nice new restaurant and I would love to come back. Thank you for the lovely evening!

Sehr freundlicher Service. Das Restaurant ist gemütlich. Das Essen war gut, mit ein paar Schwächen. Die Bruschetta waren kalt, geschmacklich dadurch nicht überzeugend. Die Tomatensauce bei Spagetti Napoli schmeckte viel zu sehr nach Tomatenmark. Wahrscheinlich hatten sie keine Zeit am 26.12. eine richtige Tomatensauce zuzubereiten, aus frischen Tomaten. Schade. Aber die Bolognese Sauce aus Wildschwein war fein. Schmeckte gut! Wir kommen wieder an einem "normalen" Tag und testen nochmal.

Wir gehen primär wegen den Muscheln in roter Sauce dorthin, die Pizza ist auch gut! Nudeln würde ich hier nicht bestellen. Eine sehr netter Italiener für den Sonntag Abend!

Die carciofi alla romana waren frisch, die Spaghetti gerade noch bißfest gekocht und die Pizza mir Trüffel war auch gut. Essen war wirklich auf original italienischem Niveau, der Service war freundlich, allerdings etwas im Stress.

Seit vielen Jahren eine italienische Institution an der Münchener Freiheit. Von der normalen Speisekarte, von den Empfehlungen der Woche oder das Tagesmenü: wir sind noch niemals enttäuscht worden. Die Gerichte sind immer schmackhaft und das Personal ist zuvorkommend und freundlich. Das Ambiente ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber es passt so !!! - Von 11:00h bis 23:00h durchgehend warme Küche. Die sanitären Anlagen sind gepflegt und sauber. Einige wenige Parkplätze gibt es hinter dem Haus.

Sehr nett, ganz einfach, wir haben das bekommen was wir wollten. nichts zu meckern.
