Ate very tasty pizza. Service very quick and nice. Of course, getting a table without reserving also makes it very pleasant. The pizza was very large and tasty. A little noisy but a good selection of drinks, some are nice to drink.

Being rude in front of a four year old kid is the speciality of waitresses over here, if you are not white. I have been living in Munich since last 8 years and have never experienced this kind of behaviour in any restaurant in Munich. The waitresses was so rude that my child got scared as I asked her about the spaghetti, which we ordered 20 minutes ago as my daughter was hungry.. I wonder if Jungenamt and racism Office in Germany should control this restaurant. Avoid this place, if you’re person of colour as most of the waitresses are from East Europe and are super racist.

Restaurant with semi-raw pizzas and bad service. We arrived without a reservation and they put us at a table between the bathrooms and the kitchen. We asked if we could change since the restaurant was empty and they told us that everything was reserved. When we finished dinner and left, only one other table had entered, also without a reservation, who were placed in a good location. Everything else was still exactly the same empty. The management of the staff leaves a lot to be desired and the food is nothing out of this world. To not repeat.

Per 05.08.24 we ate here again as well located and rather inexpensive meal prices, drinks are the branch usual. Negatively surprised after being told the price and having tipped, that the bill had already a 10% TIP without having been asked ! I got some cash back, but while this is not uncommon in London, we know this is not anywhere near standard in Munich ( yet...)

Nice Italian restaurant with absolutely fair prices.

Great ambience, great food... but extremely loud.

We ordered food through Wolt. Unfortunately it arrived very cold and that was the first no-go. The second was that the garlic pizza bread was simply four thin slices of garlic on a soaked, thick pizza dough. Wow, great cinema! For the mozzarella pizza, halved cherry tomatoes were simply distributed carelessly and three leaves of basil were placed on top. Well, the lasagne was just overloaded with cheese. The taste fell by the wayside and the sauce simply consisted of pureed tomatoes. Complete. Overall, it's a shame. More could have been done with it. That was the last time for us.

I was very surprised by the lasagna, lots of cheese, well baked and simply delicious. it really tasted very good. Also the Vitello Tonnato as a starter the bread together. Excellent service and great evening. Gladly again. The only point of criticism is the amount of ice cream in the apertivos, but I don't think there's any reason to deduct a star.

The wine was too warm, the pizza was good. But it's way too loud and the service is a bit too slow. But they aren't that cheap anymore (35€ per person on average for an evening meal is a bit too much in my opinion...)

Unthinkable - Schwabing without Pepenero. The established restaurant is not a place, but a pleasant state for everyone. In addition to pasta and pizza, you can also find octopus salad, sea bream fillet or meat dishes. The team doesn't always have an easy time with the "difficult guests" who probably sometimes have something else in mind than enjoying a nice meal. Nevertheless, they are extremely friendly and offer great service. I can only warmly recommend the Pepenero.

I think my meal/snack bruschetta with tomatoes was simply forgotten. It's also okay in the heat, what wasn't okay was giving me a burnt, very hard one, hence the bad rating.

Nice place, right next to the hustle and bustle of Munich Freedom, but still quiet. The service is very friendly, but you have to expect a slightly longer waiting time, especially at peak times. But I don't blame the service as a negative, it's probably because (like everywhere in the catering industry at the moment) there probably simply isn't enough staff to be found. The food is delicious and inexpensive. In my opinion, value for money is absolutely given here. Drinks are good too. My recommendation: the daily menu and the pasta!

The linguine pepenero is really good, but the services is so bad, I wouldn’t be surprised if the waitress spitted in the food.

What is that supposed to be? I didn't order dumplings. When you first have to cut your own salad, it looks kind of carelessly slapped together. Ordered a large Coke and still got a small one. Service was also pretty rude.

The pizza tastes very good. We ordered extra olives on the pizzas. They were invoiced but not delivered, a shame.

Unfortunately we weren't served because it was raining outside and the staff didn't want to get “wet”. We offered to bring our food outside ourselves... But they didn't like that either. Unfortunately, the tone and the mushy manner are not working at all! What a shame for the cute restaurant!

The food at Pepenero was excellent, especially the homemade pasta. The highlight of our visit, however, was the waitress Lea, who made our evening perfect with her friendly and attentive manner. Thank you very much, we'll be happy to come back!

Pepenero is an Italian restaurant near Münchner Freiheit. Food: There is a wide selection of Italian dishes such as pasta, antipasti and pizza. The vegetarian Bolognese we ordered was more like pasta with tomato sauce and peas. At just under €13 it was simply too expensive and the portion wasn't particularly generous. There was parmesan, but not freshly grated Service: The service itself was on point, but when we entered the restaurant we were asked whether there was a free table and said that we should check for ourselves where there was no reserved sign. Not particularly customer oriented. Ambiance: Quite cozy, there are seats inside and outside. Nothing special.

Were there to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Ate and drank was okay but then we wanted plates for the cake and they wanted €2.50 per plate. 5 plates €12.50. I don't know if it's normal, but I didn't think it was right.

Best pizza I've ever eaten and still can't be beat. If you're interested in the topic of pizza dough and know what it's all about, you've come to the right place. The pizza is so good you can eat the whole thing without having an unpleasant feeling in your stomach or digestion. For the dough, the amount of yeast and resting time as well as the temperature of the oven are correct. I have to drive an hour to Munich. And when we go to Munich it's always pizza at Pepe's. For 12€ such a delicious pizza is worth the trip, thank you!

“Eat well and cheaply and get stuffed” - the concept has been working for years now. We judge a restaurant primarily based on the price/performance ratio and that has become even better at PepeNero's. Just like the always friendly one and patient service More than just pasta & pizza, always worth a visit.

Very good ambience and good food, but the toilets are not recommended

Staff was very friendly. We ordered a pizza to go. The pizza came in one piece and we had to tear it apart while eating in the park. We ordered pizza without cheese and received with cheese. Vegans should double check. Last but not least there was a hair in the pizza. The pizza per se tasted nice.

Here the dog is even allowed to eat at the table.

We ordered a pizza, when ordering we stated that a pizza should please be without cheese. Afterwards we wanted to call to make sure the comment had been read. Unfortunately, no one answered the phone there for 45 minutes. The comment wasn't read, the pizza came with cheese and all the pizzas were cut around, which is a bit clumsy when it comes to delivery.

The food and atmosphere were great - there were ample food options and everything we had was tasty. Service was incredibly slow (I think they had 3 servers on a Saturday night???).

There are various very good noodles to choose from here! Simply delicious! Pizza is big and looks good! The pizza crust overhangs. The restaurant has always been very busy and loud for years. You can sit outside on the street. Entrance one step. I recommend it mainly because of the flavorful noodles!

Has become one of my favorite Italians! The food is great and the price-performance ratio is also right! The only drawback is that you can't change anything, everything is calculated separately, such as the gratinated rigatoni, which is made with salami instead of ham as is usually the case. Otherwise, relatively large portions and most of the girls in service are great too! Very nice atmosphere in the evening too!!

Wir haben draußen einen Tisch ergattern können und konnten so das rege Treiben beobachten. Wir hatten Bandnudeln mit Lachs und Dillsahnesoße bzw. Ravioli gefüllt mit Spinat und Ricotta in Safranbutter und es hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Der Grauburgunder war auch lecker. Die Mitarbeiterinen waren sehr freundlich. Kann man sehr gut weiter empfehlen .

It was not possible to order after 40 minutes despite repeated requests. Had to leave again and find a new location. It's a shame that this restaurant doesn't need to serve 6 people.

I‘m a foreigner but have already lived here for a while. The waitress comes very late and tries to cheat us. But when I mention the related German law, she directly turns her attitude. Tourists have to be careful.

I've always been very fond of Pepenero's, even though I'm not a local. The menu is very broad and the atmosphere cozy. The cannelloni dish i had last time (Oct 2022) was the best yet. Greetings from Los Angeles.

All in all, an extremely solid Italian restaurant. A good place to go, especially for groups. The pizzas were very large and tasted good. Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow due to the very full dining room, but the very friendly waitress politely communicated this to us.

We went for dinner. After being seated, the waitress came about 15min later. We knew the restaurant seemed busy so happy to wait. But my husband asked the waitress what flavor Schorle they had in English. In a very annoyed way she said “just the regular ones”. What is regular? If the waitress cant name them, the restaurant should just have them listed on the menu OR should train their waitress/waiters to be “normal” people and name it out. The food here is good so this was our third time. But probably not go back as attitude is horrible.

Absolutely top friendly service, the pizza is super tasty (and really fresh) and the restaurant has a very cool location at the English Garden. Absolute insider tip 👍.

"Italienisches Lebensgefühl zwischen Münchner Freiheit und Englischem Garten." - so bewirbt sich das Restaurant bei seinen Gästen. Das Restaurant hat Sitzplätze: 110 innen und im Sommer auch noch 60 zusätzliche außen.....und Bedienungen, denen ein kleines Lächeln im Gesicht nicht schaden würde....?! Wir haben nichts gegessen, aber es hat zivile Preise und die Räumlichkeiten sind ansprechend (und die Tische auch nicht so eng gestellt, wie in den meisten anderen Lokalen).

Was there on February 3rd, 2024 around 6:00 p.m. The tables were about 2/3 full, the rest were reserved. We wanted to grab a quick bite to eat and move on. The waitresses seemed quite stressed and made us notice. I don't want to experience that as a guest. A little more professionalism and hospitality would have been nice. Our request wasn't simply accepted, but we were told why it couldn't work. Our request was then ignored. The food was in the usual standard of the chain and came quite quickly, hence the full points here.

Nach Bestellung kamen innerhalb 5 Min unsere Pizzen. Nur leider keine Getränke und kein Besteck. Pizza war belegt mit viel Tomatensoße und dadurch schnell durchweicht. 5 viel zu dicke Auberginenscheiben als Belag. Wir wurden in 2h Aufenthalt weder gefragt, ob’s uns schmeckt, noch ob wir ein weiteres Getränk, oder Nachspeise möchten. In dieser Zeit kam niemand zu uns, außer um im vorbeigehen die Teller mitzunehmen. Also eher was für nen schnellen Mittagstisch.

Leider wurde meine zwei Wochen vorher gebuchte Reservierung für ein Geburtstag überhaupt nicht im Buch eingetragen, weswegen wir einen anderen Platz hatten als gewünscht. Wir riefen sogar vor der Reservierung an das wir eine halbe Stunde früher zur Reservierung kommen und es hieß das passt… Das Essen war gut

Wer schnell eine Pizza oder Pasta will, wird hier gut bedient. Geschmackliche Abenteuer darf man dort nicht erwarten. Das Personal war freundlich und die Preise für Schwabing günstig.

Today we were there for the first time. From the reception to the farewell, everything without long waiting times. The waitress was quite dissatisfied with rolling her eyes and also ruined our mood. We ordered different starters and pizzas. The pizzas were ok but pretty mediocre, the soup was tasty but the antipasto plate was a joke. After we wanted to pay, we neither saw a compilation nor received a receipt, even though we requested this. When we got home, we realized that we had paid more for what we ordered. I think something like that is really a shame...

Münih'te İngiliz Bahçesine yakın harika bir İtalyan restorantı,fiyatları ortalama lezzet mükkemmel, çalışanlar herhalde öğrenci pek ilgili ve samimi değillerdi.

Grundsätzlich alles OK. Leider nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Das Essen ist absolut in Ordnung, aber halt nix besonderes. Tomatensuppe hat schon gepasst, die Pappardelle selbst waren sogar ziemlich gut, das Kalbsfilet dazu aber war absolut nicht adäquat. Trocken und nahezu ungewürzt. Das Schokoladensoufflé war dann schon wieder besser, allerdings auch kein kulinarisches Highlight. Leider merkt man auch hier, dass es immer schwieriger wird, ausreichend gutes Personal zu finden. Das Restaurant war ab 19 Uhr (mittwochs) proppevoll und ab diesem Zeitpunkt ging der Service ziemlich in die Knie. Positiv herausstellen würde ich zuletzt noch dagegen die für Münchner Verhältnisse absolut fairen Preise.

I found the restaurant very cozy. The portions are huge, I ordered pasta alla Norma and it was like being in Italy, really delicious. Service is friendly and patient! I would recommend it!

Lecker, sympathisch und bezahlbar

Das Risotto Mare war eines der Besten das ich jemals gegessen habe. Die Anderen am Tisch waren mit ihrem Essen auch sehr zufrieden.
