A completely successful visit! First of all, fish soup, which was really hot, with good ingredients. Main course beef medallions fried really well, with an excellent truffle sauce. In addition, the ambience is good, there are lots of white tablecloths, the waiters are neatly dressed and the service is attentive. We will come more often!

Wir hatten uns zu einem Jahrestreffen verabredet. Angemeldet 10 Personen, gekommen 14 Gäste: da wurde es am Tisch eng. Vorbestellt war das Karussell mit Weinbegleitung. Zu dem Abend selbst: kurz gesagt: es hat alles gepaßt. Die Beratung und der Service waren perfekt, die Küche authentisch, die begleitenden Weine ganz hervorragend typisch. Besonders hervorzuheben ist noch, daß die Preise für das gebotenen Menü günstig sind.

The food and the ambience were very good. Unfortunately you have to say that the service was just okay. Dishes were swapped, meaning the wrong thing was brought to the table and then we had to wait a long time for the right food, so that the rest of us (9th people) were almost finished. Despite this, the food tasted very tasty.

Lecker und herzlich! Wir waren im Rahmen des Restaurant Karussell's zum ersten Mal im Acquario und wurden bestens bewirtet. Alle vier Gänge waren sehr lecker und nett präsentiert. Die begleitende Weinauswahl passte. Acquario kann man als Lieblings-Italiener bezeichen - wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Acquario is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. I always enjoy visiting this restaurant when I'm in Essen. Today, Sunday lunchtime, I reserved a table and that was a good thing because the restaurant was packed. Despite the many guests and a birthday party, all dishes came to the table quickly and at the same time. As a starter I ordered prawns Provincial and mixed antipasti and for the main course I ordered a pasta duo of crespelle with ricotta & spinach filling and pasta with truffle sauce, then Piedmontese agnolotti with truffles and a tuna steak (sashimi quality). All dishes tasted excellent and the service staff were quick and very friendly. I parked in a public parking lot a five-minute walk away. In my opinion, the quality of the food used is top. It's also great that vegans can also find a selection on the menu.

What a delicious Italian restaurant! I had one of the best truffles linguine ever! Also everyone else had been extremely happy with the freshness, quality and taste of the food! Worth noting is also their huge portions. I also valued that they have delicious bread with aioli and olives free of charge before the entree. All in all a very high quality Italian cuisine - must visit!

I was in the restaurant for the first time a few weeks ago. A friend recommended it. It is attractively furnished, not too big and has a nice little terrace to sit outside. The food is quite varied for an Italian restaurant, but apart from pizza it is rather more expensive. If the quality was better, I wouldn't have a problem with it. My beef was very dry and stringy, which I don't think is ok. At well over €30, it was one of the expensive dishes on the daily menu. In addition to the three potatoes and four sticks of asparagus, there was a complete gravy boat full of melted butter :-). The appetizer platter was good and visually beautifully presented. Unfortunately, our waitress was inattentive and seemed unmotivated. Even though only a few tables were occupied, she had to be called over several times for drinks. There was no initiative to clear things up or requests were asked. It's a shame, it could definitely be better. But the other employees seemed very friendly. The evening was nice nonetheless. I give it a friendly 4 stars.

The lunch menu for little money is absolutely recommended. You can sit outside when the weather is nice. And even after paying, you can safely stay seated for a while and not be scared away straight away. The best thing: original Italian dishes prepared by original Italians. Excellent.

There were 6 of us there today and had a lot of fun. We rarely see each other and were therefore loud. But they let us. The service was included in our fun group and was really great. Super tasty food and great service from A to Z. We had a lot of fun with our waiter and even though we were busy, he always took his time and fulfilled our every wish. Unbelievable but true, I surprisingly ate the best vegan pizza ever here. I was worried that I wouldn't find any purely plant-based dishes here, as the restaurant seemed like one of those typically old-fashioned, traditional and adapted ones. Thank you very much for that, that is anything but self-evident. Plus we ate here really cheaply, always with pleasure :)

Only regular guests receive friendly service! The room acoustics are bad / take some getting used to. The pizza calzone based on "4 stagioni", which is not on the menu, was delicious, rich and without a markup!

For me the best Italian restaurant in all of Essen! The team is very friendly. All dishes are very, very tasty. We have been coming here to eat on special occasions for 30 years. We recommend! On the weekend you should definitely reserve a table as it is always very busy.

Eating is ok - according to the motto the eye eats too. Pollock fillet was dry, sauce was very greasy in my opinion. Maybe my expectations were simply too high here. However, the staff is great, A1 and super friendly!:)

Ein wirklich tolles Restaurant, war von meinem Freund Fernando eingeladen. Sehr aufmerksamer Service, tolle Speisekarte, absolut lecker und auf den Punkt zubereitet.

Das bestellte Essen wurde zeitnah fertiggestellt und gut verpackt. Mehrere Kellner erkundigten sich nach meinen Wünschen. Die 3 Salate waren Fertigmischungen, 2 davon mit einer fertigen Cocktailsauce, die separat verpackt wurde. Das gebratene Fischfilet war tot gebraten und sehr trocken. Der überbackene Fischfilet für 14,90 € sehr klein und das Risotto war trockener Reis mit gedünsteten Zucchinistücken. Also eine gemischte Erfahrung.

Die Tageskarte ist aktuell richtig toll. Hingehen und verwöhnen lassen!

Meine Frau und ich kennen alle Restaurants in Essen-Steele und waren schon öfters im Aquario Papa eingeladen. Ambiente sehr schön, Tische alle fein eingedeckt, aber man kommt nur sehr schwer hinter den Tisch, ein Mann mit Bauch garnicht und eine Frau, wenn sie es schafft hinter den Tisch zu kommen, hat sie de Busen auf dem Tisch liegen. Kellner sehr arrogant und unpersönlich. Antipasta ala Vitrina gut, aber Küche mittelmäßig, ( Lammfilet trocken, Rotbarsch Fisch trocken, Soßen mittelmäßig. Der gute Ruf des Restaurants erfüllt in keinster Weise die Erwartungen !!

Ich hatte Rotbarsch mit Spagetti bestellt, Tagesgericht für 14,90 €. Das Essen kam, der Teller war übersichtlich gefüllt. Die Nudeln waren gut. Der Fisch war, ich unterstelle, Fischreste durch den Wolf gedreht und mit dem Fischhhack 2 kleine Filets geformt. So kann man auch seine Gäste verärgern. Hier nicht noch einmal einkehren!

Wie immer ein Genuss! Ein kleiner Ausflug nach "Italien".
