Rheinland Inn Dining Facility in Ramstein-Miesenbach

It’s a way smaller dining facility than I’m used to but it’s really not that bad. The food is decent and I don’t have to go far at all to grab my lunch so that’s a plus. The food is diverse as well. I’ve been stationed here for almost a month and haven’t eaten the same lunch/dinner twice.

What’s going on with the potato soup Seriously I’m concerned

After coming to this dining facility and checking out my receipt I was given, I noticed that something didn’t add up. My friend I was with got the exact same food I got but his meal was almost 6$ cheaper. I went back up to ask for an itemized receipt and quickly realized that I was charged for things that were not on my tray. I asked to be refunded the money I was wrongfully charged and the woman cashier looked me in my eyes and said she couldn’t do that and to “just grab some stuff”. To me this is not a solution. If I wanted those extra things she told me to grab I would’ve grabbed them the first time.

Overpriced awful food with absolutely heinous service Chow hall employees/Airman who work here are incompetent and are constantly messing around instead of doing their job. Seems like they have no oversight and no one to tell them to work. Burgers/eggs can take 30+ minutes if there is a line cause the airmen working the grill sucks/isn’t working For a decent amount of food it’s gonna cost over $15 for chow hall food which is wild The employees who work the register don’t know what they are doing and will overcharge/undercharge constantly

Condiments are extremely limited, and often run out (especially hot sauce). Water cups are small and still take 30 seconds to fill, causing lines to take an extremely long time (Guess the AF wants us to drink soda). Portions are small, with meat often very overcooked and tough. Grill does not have a menu, and after a month of eating here I have yet to successfully order chicken breast. Military staff are often rude if you ask questions about the food or what's available, and do not know the prices for entrees. Main line prices are often inaccurate or just not present, so you have no idea if you're going to pay $4 or upwards of $10 for your meal despite getting the same basic carb/vegetable/protein mix. Vegetarian options for protein are minimal if present - I often try to eat vegetarian during the week, and many times am told "there are hardboiled eggs on the salad bar". That's not an acceptable protein solution. Finally, the credit card readers are extremely inconsistent and usually do not work (issue lasting over a month). Why is that acceptable in 2024? Having to carry US Dollars just for use in the DFAC and nowhere else is wildly inconvenient in Germany where we use Euro.

This place sucks. I’ve wasted countless dollars on food around base just to not eat here. Food at Keesler dfac was great. Don’t know what happened. Don’t eat here.

Very repetitive meals, got sick of eating here to the point my discipline and my body are fighting each other to down the driest hardest meat known to man. I now spend what little money I make on subway or other food because I can’t down the dfac entrees.

Prices were great, choices were limited, food was good.

Prison food. I’ve had worse. Just enough to be in accordance regs and check a box, nothing more. 10s of Millions of DoD dollars for a subpar facility and they try to save money on food by buying processed pre made chemical contents, that is easily a number 2 or 3 factor of morale of soldiers.

I visited for breakfast on 28 September. Extremely slow and poor service! All the staff behind the grill looked like they were in a slow motion movie with their hands in pockets and chatting about most everything but their job. No attention to detail. I waited over 30 minutes to place my egg order and there were only about 5 people in front of me. The guy next to me ordered scrambled eggs and and pancakes and the cook made him an omelette and walked away forgetting the pancakes. Small portions. I also ordered a biscuit and gravy; it was cold right from start and there was perhaps 3 tablespoons of gravy. Empty condiment containers on the counter. Seriously Air Force?! Is there any leadership in that facility? Where’s the discipline and motivation?! Take some pride in what you do and provide outstanding customer service to your fellow comrades. If your goal there is to achieve the absolute bare minimum, i suppose you’ve succeeded. Your chain of command should be embarrassed.

Wow, Air Force Dinning has really fell off the last couple of years. TDY here and decided to check out the DFAC to save money and get some breakfast. Very confusing layout, but ok, I can adjust, food was poor at best, I mean, how do you ruin scrambled eggs that I waited almost 10 minutes for. Absolutely embarrassing for a nice new facility. I hope leadership sees what we are seeing.

Food is good and fattening. 3 square meals a day and brunch on the weekends. And Everything Omelets are the bomb!

Contributing factor to Ramstein dorm Airmen depression. It's okay. Edible. Sometimes decent. But mostly just edible.

For the past almost 2 months I have been here, it has gotten noticeably better. Tastes good, looks and seems pretty healthy... Of course there are days and times where it could be definitely better but I am quite satisfied myself.

The smell of sewer first greets you at the entrance. Portions always get smaller and the staff gets a bunch of different information from higher ups. While the staff is friendly most of the time I can tell the job is hard on them with weird hours and hard work. Their is no dietary information on any of the food so if you are dieting or body building you are better off doing your own food. There was a rumor that renovations were going to happen that never did not that the dfac needs them maybe the kitchen but the dining areas are really nice. So that's a plus. Tldr it's a dfac not the best not the worst the staff needs a break sometimes though.

Despite my relatively low expectations of the military dining institution, the gastronomic experience of the Rhineland DFAC was the epitome of what we may call a life-changing event. I selected what appeared to be an ancient delicacy of cavemen consisting of chocolate flavored pebble shaped morsels of delight that would gain approval from Gene Wilder. Then onto the coffee selection, I noticed a machine so efficiently built, only the finest German engineering could have constructed such a product. French vanilla or mocha at the touch of a button? Incredible. Although the coffee it dispensed was underwhelming to say the least, the boiled eggs exceeded the highest of any culinary expectations. Was the boiled egg recipe a product of the German war machine's logistical resource management from World War II? Some may say, but we will never know. This place deserves a michellin star.

Better than any food they serve on the ships. For military style chow this place serves up a great breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Keep up the great work

It's not nearly as terrible as folks but it is kinda bad. Food is insufficient in quantity almost as badly as it is in quality. We aren't allowed to get more food despite working out rigorously. I just ate a meal from there after working out and I'm still devastatingly hungry. The eggs here also don't taste right. Don't get the scrambled eggs.

Good place to get nutritious food. They even have Soymilk now

Well... it's not completely terrible. I love the breakfast, but the rest of the day is pretty hit or miss. Sometimes, you'll have something amazing. Other times... not so much. It's decent enough.

They do over easy eggs+, crispy bacon ony-, gravy didn't taste right-, hashbrowns were good+, no link sausage-, no TV/news-

Great variety of food just medium quality.

The people are great, but the food isn't. The sandwich line and Burger line are safe bets if you don't want to take your chances with the main courses
