We visited the restaurant after a recommendation. The place is elegant and the service is very pleasant (especially the waiter of Croatian origin). We ordered a meal, a set for two and wine. Steaks, turkey, vegetables and potatoes. A very large set that we couldn't eat during dinner. Additionally, a salad bar is included in the price. Food expensive but very good. The steaks were well-done and tasty, the fried potatoes and vegetables were top notch. Note for tourists and foreigners: At the end of the delicious dinner, there is a very unpleasant surprise - payment only in cash or German EC bank cards. The spell is broken... Tourists and foreign guests will not pay with Visa or MasterCard! I had to go to an ATM that was 10 minutes away in one direction, in a very bad neighborhood after dark. I don't recommend it. Despite this inconvenience, I think we will go back there (with cash in our wallet 😉) To sum up: (+) food very good (+) very nice service (+/-) atmosphere, seemingly cozy, but something is missing (+) toilets (-) location (-) payment only by EC card (German tanks or cash).

Very good food, the selection is huge... the lunch menu includes soup, salad from the salad bar and is very cheap... but the best thing is the friendliness of the staff. I have rarely experienced it like I did at Haus Witte 👍 👍👍👍👍👍will always be happy to come back......thank you very much ☘🍀☘🍀

sehr ansprechendes, gemütliches Ambiente, ohne kitschig zu sein. Gute Karte mit reichhaltiger Auswahl. Ein Paradies für Fleischliebhaber. Gerichte perfekt zubereitet, Steaks auf den Punkt gegart. Salat gabs am reichhaltigen Buffet zum selbst zusammenstellen. Die Preise sind zwar im höheren Segment, jedoch für das gebotene völlig in Ordnung. Personal ist sehr freundlich und professionell. Eine klare Empfehlung ! Jederzeit gerne wieder.

Absolutely awesome experience. We went there for lunch for 3 people. First we got delicious soup, then we had salad from the salad bar with fresh vegetables and many good toppings and dressings aswell. The main was perfectly prepared steaks, crunchy, soft inside fries and very creamy sauce. The atmosphere is so friendly yet fancy, both waiters were so nice and english speaking, which we really appreciated as foreign visitors. We will definitely visit again.

On our trip from Stuttgart to Gelsenkirchen to a metal festival, we wanted to strengthen ourselves before the strenuous day. A quick search on the internet led us to the Steakhaus Witte. We were greeted in an extremely friendly manner by a very well-groomed waiter, with a level of service that one is unfortunately no longer used to these days. After we ordered from the extensive menu, we were given a very good soup of the day. We didn't expect this. The main courses came very quickly and our dishes were all really excellent. At the end we even received a schnapps. Overall, I can say that this was a thoroughly successful visit, with equally excellent food and service. Our next visit to the Ruhr area will 100% take us back to this great restaurant.

I had the pleasure of visiting this wonderful restaurant after the company holidays and it was only then that I realized what a treasure it is in our city. As soon as I entered the restaurant I was overwhelmed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The interior is tastefully decorated, with a perfect balance of modern design and cozy flair. The service was exceptionally attentive and friendly. The staff seemed well rested and motivated, which is certainly due to the well-deserved company holidays. Our every wish was literally met and we felt completely comfortable and cared for. The menu offered an excellent selection of dishes, all made with fresh and quality ingredients. The starters were a perfect start - the carpaccio and scampi in particular were a culinary delight. The main course, a juicy beef fillet, was cooked to perfection and tasted exquisite. The dessert, chocolate souffle, was the crowning conclusion to a thoroughly successful evening. The wine list also left nothing to be desired and rounded off the culinary experience perfectly. Overall, I was more than impressed by this visit. After the company holidays, the restaurant radiated a new freshness and energy, which was reflected in both the service and the kitchen. It's definitely a place you'll want to visit again and again. A big compliment to the entire team – keep it up!

Steakhouse (Balkan) with many dishes. Good little salad buffet. The interior design is rustic, but not overwhelming. Nice and friendly staff. Addendum: The dishes are good, but the quality has deteriorated. But it has also become more expensive. Not so consistent anymore.

Hier kann man nur 5 Sterne geben! Die Speisekarte bietet für jeden Geschmak etwas an und der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Außerdem ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut. Ich möchte mich noch kurz auf meine Vorrednerin beziehen, da ich nicht verstehen kann, wie nicht frische Ware schnell zubereitet werden kann. Es ist nunmal so, dass gerade frische Ware schnell zubereitet wird und man dementsprechend auch schnell sein Essen bekommt. Genau aus diesem Grund sind wir seit Jahren Stammgäste. Weiter so!

No question, food has always been great and is. Anyone who likes meat dishes should be absolutely satisfied here. Unfortunately, one of the conditions in recent years has become increasingly difficult to communicate. If there is something small to complain about or is missing, there are always lengthy conversations without any insight. However, the lady and the boss provide perfectly friendly service and make up for it. So if you like meat and have never been there, you just have to try it. Clearly a top recommendation

A steakhouse as many as there are, so I don't know what is supposed to be special here, what is there, is also available in others, the price for two people normal food with drinks is about 90 euros... I don't know if that has to be the case again

A very cozy restaurant with modern and clean toilet facilities. The steaks are very tasty and grilled to perfection. The salad buffet is very rich. The service was very attentive, quick and really friendly. Our dinner with 7 people was very nice and the price was justified.

Wir waren mit sechs Personen dort und hatten uns sehr auf den Abend gefreut! Aber leider war unser essen ein Reinfall, das Essen für alle kam innerhalb von zehn Minuten, war schon sehr ungewöhnlich und zweifelhaft! Mein Fleisch hat einen fischigen Nachgeschmack gehabt und das und meine Beilage djuvec Reis hatte leider einen Stich, ich esse diesen Reis immer und ich weiß wie es schmecken muss, aber das Personal war nicht einsichtig! Das Essen von den anderen war leider ebenfalls nicht wie es sein sollte! Unsere Vermutung ist, das alles sogar das Fleisch,schon alles vorgekocht gebraten gebacken wie auch immer war,so flott wie alles auf dem Tisch war!!! Leider kann ich nichts positives dazu beitragen! Wir waren dort!!!!

Ein sehr sehr schickes und gemütliches Restaurant. Haben vor einem Jahr hier unser erstes Date gehabt. Es hat sich zu 2023 sogar noch verbessert. Die Bedienung als auch der Chef sind spitze. Das Essen war erneut ein Genuss. Definitv die richtige Adresse für Steaks und einen gemütlichen Abend.

Wir kehrten heute wiedermals zu 4. bei Witte ein. Neben dem freundlichen Empfang und der Begeisterung für das Servicehandwerk sticht die rustikale Einrichtung dieser Steak-Institution in Gelsenkirchen sofort ins Auge. Zügige aber nicht überhastete Bedienungen nehmen freundlich die Bestellung auf und gehen auf Wünsche ein. Steaks werden in tadelloser Gärstufe mit angenehmer Wärme serviert und lassen kaum zu Wünschen übrig. Auch die Beilagen erfüllen diesen Anspruch. Zur Rechnung wird ein gratis Likör gereicht. Klare Empfehlung.

Wir sind heute zum ersten Mal dort eingekehrt. Unser Kellner, ich hoffe ich schreibe es richtig "Jato" war mehr als aufmerksam und professionell. Das Essen war Spitzenklasse und das Restaurant sehr schön. Wer also mal wirklich gut ausgehen mag, sollte dieses Restaurant in Betracht ziehen. Die Preise sind für diese Spitzenküche angemessen.
