Restaurante Español Picasso in Hamburg

If I could, I'd give it 10 stars. An exceptional restaurant in the heart of Hamburg. We were looking for a good place for dinner and, with great luck, we found Picasso. The Spanish food was authentic and delicious: ham croquettes, cuttlefish, fried eggplant, garlic shrimp... every recommendation was a hit. The service was impeccable. It was my mother's birthday, and they were kind enough to prepare a slice of cake with a sparkler and sing Happy Birthday to her, which made the evening even more special. Many thanks to Victor for the warm welcome. Sergio and the other guys are wonderful.

We had the honor of spending a fantastic evening here. We received a warm welcome and were given an exceptional table. The selection and composition of tapas was hand-picked, and every recommendation from the waiter was invaluable. To finish, we had a breathtaking brandy. The glass was first warmed with hot water, then the brandy was artfully poured in. The skillful sealing of the glass was impressive. The first sip reminded me of raisins and a great time in Spain. 😉 We're already looking forward to our next visit here. Enjoy your stay and have a great time! 👋

It's quite expensive, but you go there because you know what you're getting into - excellent staff 10/10 - amazing tapas 10/10 - you always have a really good evening here and want to come back.

Service was excellent, but a little... well, chasing after every empty plate and chair. It was a bit annoying. The food was really good, but perhaps not quite up to the high standards they seem to set for themselves. Overall, everything was good, but I can get it elsewhere in the city for ten euros less.

The food was delicious, the shop was nice, and the service was great. Chris highly recommends it; we'll definitely be back soon!

Very good food. Despite being in Hamburg, the delicious tapas, the friendly staff—who we only spoke to in Portuguese, as they were of Galician origin—all contributed to our last dinner in Germany leaving a warm feeling in our stomachs and hearts. Don't miss it!

A piece of Spain in the heart of Hamburg. Incredibly delicious and fascinating tapas. It's just a shame I didn't have more time. The service is excellent. The waiters are super friendly. They help, explain, and advise really well. Guests feel like royalty here. And not only will the stomach be satisfied, but it's also a feast for the eyes. It's definitely a must to come back and try more tapas. The food is cooked, served, and served with love. It's like a little vacation when you're here.

We had a wonderful evening here. The ambiance is authentically Spanish, the food is excellent, and the waiters are super friendly. We celebrated my mother's birthday here, and as a surprise, they brought her a cake at the end, complete with a birthday song and a candle. The evening couldn't have been more wonderful. There were three of us dining at the restaurant. Despite the restaurant being full, the service was super friendly and attentive, and we even got an early table since we arrived half an hour early. The gourmet fish platter was incredibly delicious, as was the second fish dish (no bones). My scampi in garlic oil was excellent, and we started with aioli and olives with warm bread. The light white wine was fruity and well-chilled. We only had dessert (a delicious flan) because we were very full. We'll definitely be back.

A lovely restaurant in Hamburg's city center. Mediterranean/Spanish cuisine with excellent service. A lively atmosphere. The only downside: the octopus, which I wouldn't recommend. Otherwise, the tapas are fine.

We stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant by chance! The service was amazing. Very attentive. Charm and humor rounded off the whole experience. Thank you for a wonderful evening. The food was delicious. The bacon-wrapped dates 🤤 I could have been fooled. I'd go back anytime. The pork fillet melted in your mouth, beautifully tender. The bread and the most delicious aioli were complimentary, and they even refilled it for free. Truly great service. I've never experienced anything like it. I'll be happy to come back on my next visit to Hamburg!! I'll recommend it to all my friends.

We particularly liked the quiet, relaxed atmosphere – ideal for a lovely evening for two or with friends. The service was attentive but unobtrusive. The value for money is absolutely perfect. We'd be happy to come back.

You don’t have to go to Spain for real tapas - this is the place. 👌 it was absolutely amazing - all the dishes. One of my daughters doesn’t normally favor tapas restaurants, but for this one - all dishes were approved. The service was friendly, and we never had to wait for anything. Nice little tapas restaurant. Got a table for 4 even though they were super busy and we hadn't booked a table. Nice and helpful staff. We ordered a lot of small tapas appetizers that we all shared (2 adults and 2 teenage boys). Everything was super delicious - from the gambas to the fried sardines. We paid €130 for food and drinks for all 4 of us. Definitely worth another visit.

Food quality is very high. Was very tasty. Yet the tapas dishes are quite small. We, 2 female persons, picked 8 dishes and yet we were not full - staff recommended 3-4 dishes/person. The place was very busy, the staff very friendly, but they forgot to bring some orders. It is necessary to book a table in advance.

If you enjoy Spanish cuisine, this is the place for you. Competent and attentive service. Everything is well prepared and highly recommended. We've been coming here on and off for about 25 years. However, the noise level in the restaurant is quite high. Parking is also difficult. Still, I recommend it.

The food was great, and everything was tasty. Squid ink paella was so yummy. But everything was a little bit pricy. They are tapas... The customer service was fantastic. All the staff was friendly, attentive, and hospitable. Great atmosphere! There's no aircon? So it was so warm...

It was a rainy public holiday in Hamburg but we were warmed by the food and people at Restaurante Picasso. Food was easily the best we had in Germany and the boss and waiters were so friendly making the experience an unforgettable one.

Convivialité, mets goûteux, service efficace avec un personnel attentionné et dynamique, patron sur tous les fronts. Nous avons connu l’endroit par hasard et nous avons été très bien accueillis alors que nous n’avions pas réservé et que le restaurant était plein à craquer. Nous avons dégusté d’excellentes tapas et nous avons décidé d’y retourner quelques jours plus tard… de nouveau nous avons été séduits par l’endroit. À recommander !!!

A really good experience. They found a table in a packed restaurant against all odds. The food was absolutely delicious and we were guided in what to choose as we wanted the same thing so we could taste much more. Delicious, fresh ingredients - cooked to perfection. A friend recommended this restaurant to me. On our trip to Hamburg this week, we took the opportunity to eat at Picasso on our first evening. I can say right away that we went back yesterday, Thursday. The atmosphere was typically Spanish. The waiters who served us were very friendly and accommodating. Now we come to the best part... the food. There were four of us, and we ate meat and fish dishes on both days. Conclusion: Everything was delicious and plentiful. The prices are very reasonable, which surprised me for Hamburg. We ate at 7:30 p.m. on the first day and 5 p.m. on the second day. The Picasso was packed on both occasions, which is a good sign of the quality of the restaurant. It is important to make reservations early, otherwise you will not get a seat. There are always two-hour time slots during which you can eat. We can recommend Picasso without reservation. We will definitely be back.

The food is delicious and of good quality. The service is excellent! There were six of us, and we waited about 15 minutes for our food.

Fantastically tasty tapas. We couldn't quite understand the menu in Spanish/German :) so we asked them to serve a selection of tapas for four people. So delicious and lovely, well-mannered staff. 150 euros for four with several tapas incl. 2 glasses of wine beer and water.

The dishes were delicious and presented sophisticatedly. Staff were very accommodating, made sure we were able to communicate properly, and provided everything I could possibly need (even paid attention to the fact that I needed to wash my hands after eating shrimps, and gave two packs of sanitizer wipes). The location is quaint and vivid, and the prices are more than fair.

It was a wonderful evening at Picasso. Great food, excellent and attentive service. Even though we didn't have a reservation (which is highly recommended), after a short wait, they made sure we got a seat. We'll definitely be back when we're in Hamburg.

Very nice and courteous service. We had paellas. As an appetizer there was free baguette and avocado cream with olives. Everything fresh and really tasty. The prices are not cheap but more than reasonable considering the quality. We'd love to come back again. Stay as authentic.

It's relatively small overall and there's a lot of hustle and bustle around, but the atmosphere is still wonderful, and the staff is absolutely top-notch, friendly, and attentive. Regarding the food: I'm really bad at it and don't eat everything, but regardless of whether it was my meal or what I tried at the other four restaurants, nothing was absolutely top-notch. I highly recommend this restaurant, but please make a reservation in advance.

We found the place by chance on a Friday evening. Of course, it was very crowded because it was a Friday evening and they said they only had a one-hour slot. Since we weren't very hungry, we said okay, we'll get up in an hour. But we loved it, if we ever go to Hamburg again, we definitely want to go and try their main dishes. The chef brought us mixed Tapas and they were all amazing. The staff is very friendly. In other words, it offers everything you want from a place. Good food, friendly service, nice and warm atmosphere :)

The best tapas you can buy in Hamburg. The all-you-can-eat menu is expensive, but if you like a lot of tapas, you'll still get your money's worth; it's simply delicious! The staff is always friendly, the restaurant is always full, and the service is top-notch. We always enjoy coming here, and it's a special treat. The only downside is that it's usually fully booked in advance. If you're with a group of people, you might have to plan two or three weeks in advance to get a table here. But that's kind of a restaurant's point!

This is my third time here. I try to visit this authentic Spanish restaurant every time I visit Hamburg. Extremely attentive service without being intrusive, every tapas is perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, and the sea bass is outstanding. Highly recommended.

I'm in Spain a lot 🇪🇸 but unfortunately I think it's the best tapas bar in Hamburg 👌 I even dared to bring a "real" Basque colleague to the Picasso and he was more than skeptical but was full of praise after the meal. I always enjoy coming here and not only because of the delicious Spanish food but also because the whole team is super nice. Full credit from me and I look forward to the next visit

It's always hectic here and you can't eat in peace. Apart from that, the prices are exaggeratedly sporty.
