It was our first time there and we were initially surprised. We didn't realize we were in the higher price segment, but then we decided to give it a try. And we weren't disappointed. We started with a mixed tapas platter, everything on which was simply unbelievably delicious, and the plates were cleaned to a sparkling clean. The steak that followed was also simply perfect, so we were completely happy and blissfully satisfied by the end. The team was super friendly, and we immediately felt at home. Highly recommended in any case, but for us, it will remain something for special occasions.

I had tapas. It's perfect for those with a big appetite, but even if you're not that hungry, everything is catered for. The staff is exceptionally friendly and enjoys serving you. El Toro is definitely worth a visit.

The two of us were there on July 23rd and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Since we both chose the beef fillet with chimichurri and vegetable sides, I can only comment on that... Our fillets were both perfectly (!) cooked and the quality and taste were first-class. The wine recommendation (El Goru) was excellent. In conclusion: if you don't want to be disappointed in or from the kitchen, in the glass, or in the service, and you're really in the mood for a beautiful, perfectly cooked steak and great wine, El Toro is a must-visit.

We returned to El Toro after a long time and received a very friendly welcome. The food was very good, and unlike many tapas restaurants with a more refined touch, I highly recommend the pork belly with lentils and the potato chips with aijoli. Contrary to other reviews, this has been a family-run classic for years, and such hamburgers should be cultivated and not given negative reviews, but rather have the courage to clarify things directly in person.

After we went out to eat today and were treated so badly, we all got diarrhea! Others sitting outside were also fobbed off and treated extremely rudely, eating very poorly and not enough shrimp! And generally, a lot of things were wrong and extremely overpriced! They don't know rosé; you get a bit of it stuck in your throat. They report bits of it in your drinks, but we're sure there was something in them! Because we complained! Never again!

I had a fried fish that had excessive breading, 2 hours after the meal, I was forced to take an antacid, because my stomach was burning..

Disappointing :( The worst truffle pasta ever. The burger was so-so. The greeting from the kitchen, well meant, but even worse. Crème brûlée works differently.

Celebrated my birthday today with close family circles at El Torro! It was wonderful as always! Very good cuisine in a family atmosphere! Any time!

Our Piri Piri chicken was in the oven for far too long. Some of the vegetables were black and the meat was very dry. The garlic prawns were quite decent. Whether you have to charge €19 for it is another question. You can actually save yourself the starter salad, which consists of a few lettuce leaves with dressing. 2-3 tomatoes would have been good for the whole thing. The home-baked bread with the not-so-good oil didn't really convince us either. Overall, we waited a very long time for our food, which came at different times. The service was good. Really nice and attentive. But given the really salty prices, I expect better food. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right.

The food, starters and main courses are fantastic. We've eaten there several times and it's always been delicious.

El Toro is a rather inconspicuous but great restaurant with a cozy atmosphere right on the Sternschanze. I always enjoy the changing menus every time I visit and have had consistently excellent dining experiences. The staff is always friendly and ensures a lovely evening in a pleasant atmosphere.

Wir hatten das Restaurant wegen der guten Rezessionen ausgewählt. Zusätzlich war es auf vielen Foodplattformen als Geheimtipp ausgewiesen. Was soll ich zu dem Restaurant sagen. Ich habe das Gefühl die anderen Gäste waren in einem anderen Restaurant. Was haben wir angetroffen: Einen relativ kleinen Gastraum mit einem angrenzenden zweiten Zimmer. Nach schon erheblicher Wartezeit bekamen wir unseren reservierten Tisch - da waren wir noch optimitisch einen schönen Abend zu verleben. Nach ca. 15 Minuten wurden unsere Getränke von einer überfordert wirkenden Servicekraft aufgenommen und dann von einer lostlosen Damen an den Tisch gebracht. Im weiteren Verlauf des Abends wurden wir nicht mehr aktiv nach Getränken gefragt. Weiter 20 Minuten später konnten wir dann unsere Speißen bestellen. Wir bestellten eine auswahl an warmen und kalten Tappas. Was dann nach ca. 90 Minuten an den Tisch gebracht wurd ehat nichts mit leckeren Tappas zu tun. Aufgewärmte mittelmäßige Convenience Food. Z.b. die Gambas mit Knoblauch in Öl gebraten waren 31/40 Garnelen kleingeschnitten - das Knoblauch war am Pfannenboden schwarz verbrannt und es wurde ein billiges Rapsöl verwendet das genauso geschmacklos war wie die Garnelen - Dafür war der Preis wenigstens mit 19€ gesalzen! Alles in allem ein kompletter Reinfall - Mit großen Abstand das schlechteste Spanische Essen das wir je hatten. Für alle die Tapas essen möchten kann man nur empfehlen ein anderes Lokal zu wählen!

I have the feeling the other guests were in a different restaurant. What did we encounter: A relatively small guest room with an adjacent second room. After a considerable wait, we got our reserved table - so we were still optimistic about having a nice evening. After about 15 minutes, our drinks were picked up by a service staff who seemed overwhelmed and then brought to the table by a lady who had no luck. As the evening progressed, we were no longer actively asked for drinks. 20 minutes later we were able to order our food. We ordered a selection of hot and cold tappas. What was brought to the table after about 90 minutes had nothing to do with delicious tappas. Warmed up mediocre convenience food. E.g. the prawns with garlic were fried in oil, 31/40 shrimps were chopped into small pieces - the garlic was burnt black on the bottom of the pan and cheap rapeseed oil was used that was just as tasteless as the shrimps - but the price was at least salted at €19! All in all a complete failure - by far the worst Spanish food we've ever had. For anyone who wants to eat tapas, we can only recommend choosing another restaurant!

For the price it was simply above average, price/performance is not right here. For 2 people, 4 tapas + one drink each with tip €70. We were still hungry, which is why we decided to go to another, normally priced restaurant nearby. Sorry, but I'd still rather go to z. B. to Alta Mira in Ottensen or simply to the steakhouse.

The selection of drinks was great, and the weekly specials on the board appealed to us directly. When the dishes arrived I was absolutely thrilled! Everything looked fantastic, and the preparation of the starter, Pa amb Tomaquet, by our server was a real highlight. Every dish was a delight, even the chorizo, which I usually avoid, was crispy and not greasy, with a fantastic chutney. But the rest of the food was also of the highest standard. The service? 6 out of 5 stars! The food? Heavenly! And the dessert topped off the evening. All in all, a wonderful experience – I highly recommend this restaurant!

The vegetables were watery, also tasteless, looked like frozen vegetables. The prawns are a small bowl with extremely small animals. Bad day? Koch had an exit? That's really a pity. BUT: Fast, very friendly reaction with the offer to serve something better. Thank you and recognition for that... the restaurant can't do anything more than that.

We were there on Saturday evening with 4 people. Two of us came earlier, wanted to order and only received the small DinA4 laminated tapas menu. Since we didn't know the restaurant yet, we thought that was the whole deal. We ordered Caesar's salad - although it was very generous, it was poor and carelessly prepared. Just Romano salad with three croutons and some parmesan shavings. The highly advertised homemade bread was dry and hard. When the other two guests came to us, a slate wooden board was suddenly placed there without any comment, on which there were a lot of additional dishes that the two of us would have been much more interested in and were prepared to choose a larger main course. Unfortunately, we were already full due to the mountain of green salad. A pity! Unfortunately they didn't have any olives on Saturday evening (!!!) either. Pretty incomprehensible coming from a Spaniard. Unfortunately, the service was a complete failure and was also quite inattentive. The only positive thing I can say is that the place was cozy. Maybe okay for a glass of wine, but I wouldn't recommend it with food.
