Restaurante El Greco in Schwedt/Oder

Yesterday, my sister-in-law and I had lunch at El Greco in Schwedt, and we were both absolutely delighted. I had a really fresh, delicious salad, and my sister-in-law had chicken breast with potatoes, Metaxa sauce, and melted cheese. Her dish was also excellent. The prices were perfectly reasonable. The restaurant itself has a very well-maintained and cozy feel. You immediately feel comfortable. The waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive, and we even received a complimentary ouzo – a very nice touch. My personal highlight, however, was definitely the restroom. I've never seen such a clean and thoughtfully equipped ladies' restroom in a restaurant. It had everything: perfume, deodorant, a brush, tampons, sanitary pads, wet wipes, and even makeup remover. You can tell that someone really cares about their guests. Yesterday was a wonderful lunch for us all around – we'll definitely be back!

The day before yesterday, around 9 p.m., we called to inquire about ordering takeout. We were told that the kitchen was unfortunately already closed. The restaurant phone initially seemed to lack noise cancellation, as the conversation was almost drowned out by the ambient noise level. As I thanked them and the call seemed to be ending, I overheard someone in the background (presumably a customer) saying, "We've already finished everything / come and get your food yourself." It's safe to assume the call was on speakerphone. Around 9:30 p.m., on my way to the Centrum department store, I walked past the restaurant out of curiosity. A group of six men were being served their food, and at the same time, another table placed an order, despite the kitchen supposedly being closed. Yesterday, I went to the restaurant to see for myself and ordered items number 83 and 105 to go. During the short 10-minute wait, the waiter seemed visibly annoyed by my presence. He then communicated this to the waitress at the bar in Greek. At that point, I felt slightly nauseous, as there was no discernible reason for such obscene behavior. During his subsequent overly friendly farewell, one could have genuinely questioned his mental state. The food itself was of good quality, but understandably, another visit is not necessary.

Delicious, fresh, and plentiful dishes. Senior-friendly portions are rare and especially popular with this age group. Unfortunately, it's very noisy and the air quality is poor. Service is very quick and friendly.

We were invited and this was our second time here. Great service, delicious food. We'd love to come back.

We were there at lunchtime on a Friday while passing through. Around us were at least 20 people born much earlier than us who had apparently forgotten their hearing aids. But that's not the restaurant's fault. Otherwise, it was excellent; the service was prompt and friendly, and as far as we could see, everything was clean and neatly arranged.

Wrong starters were brought. Waited 1.45 hours for the food and then orders were forgotten. If you have to wait 35 minutes for a beer... it's a shame

There are not many restaurants in Schwedt an der Oder. The Greek El Greco is without question one of the highlights. The service is friendly, fast, attentive and sometimes a little too much - in other words, too much of a good thing. The food is tasty. Meat is grilled to perfection and the plates are beautifully presented. As usual with Greeks, the quantities are generous - with the exception of the bread in the tzatziki. 2 slices are simply not enough. Four slices should be served, the bread isn't that expensive. The food tastes good and the quality is good. The tzatziki is excellent, very creamy and very well balanced in terms of taste. The meat dishes are grilled, but I miss the roasted flavors here. No idea why that is. The starter salad is okay. The dressing is too fatty for me - a vinegar oil dressing would be better here. I'll say straight out that this is a greasy dressing - in terms of taste, it's out of the ordinary with the otherwise good food. The coleslaw - here also as red cabbage - is good, and the dressing doesn't go well here either. In any case, the El Greco restaurant is a recommendation.

Very very tasty there. The waiter is super nice and you are treated to Uso. 😄 Even when it's full, you get your food quickly. The portions are huge too. So I can't finish it. 😅

I came to the restaurant looking forward to a lovely evening. My order of a starter plate was masked by the disgusting taste of old frying oil. Also my daughter's calamari that I tasted was even worse, so much so that I came home and vomited from that old fish and oily taste. Even the very watered down Caypie didn't make things any better.

They should rename the restaurant El Kotzo. I was there with my parents and we ordered fish. The evening ended for us in the toilet. And even after that we were still sick and we were still eating the old fat for a long time. I can't recommend it to anyone!!!!

I regularly come to a place of well-being. The welcome is always warm, the atmosphere is appropriate and the service is outstanding! The dishes are thoroughly recommended. I've tried almost all of the dishes and never had anything to complain about. Everything here is great in my opinion!

Spontaneously reserved a table yesterday and received a very friendly welcome in a well-filled restaurant at 7 p.m. The order was taken very quickly and the delicious food was on the table just as quickly. We had the El Greco plate and additional Metaxa sauce (which I haven't had so tasty in a long time) and were completely satisfied. If we're in Schwedt again, we'd love to come back.

The restaurant is recommended. Polite, competent and reasonable waiting times despite all the tables. They try very hard. I wish the team all the best and keep up the great work

I love sitting outside to eat. Here you can do it without being disturbed by the noise of the streets. Everyone is super nice and polite. Of course the feeling is mutual. The food is fresh and super tasty. All in all a nice place to eat.

We were there for our 12th 80th birthday. The food was delicious and plentiful, the prices were fair, the staff were absolutely friendly and everyone was well looked after. We'd love to come back.

Good Greek restaurant at fair prices. The service was courteous, competent and entertaining. Gladly again. The ouzo before the meal is on the house. The toilets are clean and well-maintained and the men's area also has hair styling products, such as gel and hairspray, for free use right in front of the mirror.

Over the last two years, El Greco has developed extremely well! The interior design is great!! The food is probably unparalleled in Schwedt... top! Staff and owner unbeatably nice and accommodating! Go and be convinced. Coming back regularly is a must for us!

I don't have any photos, but a warm welcome, a Greek who speaks German, the best, the fast service, the cuisine, nothing to complain about, there were 7 of us, the price...if I didn't live so far away, I would will come back regularly...

We went out to eat again today! Very tasty as always. You can also prepare a small dinner for two at home. Support our restaurateurs and think about the time after the lockdown....order your dinner for two!!!!

The ambience was very nice to look at, but the fact that you are thrown out after 2 hours if you want to drink a few cocktails after your meal is an absolute disgrace, I will never eat there again

I had a great experience in this restaurant with my family.Very nice atmosphere, staff was friendly and the service of the food was really fast. Also the food was great and fresh. Definitely recommend and if i could give 100 stars as a review i would.

Unfortunately, I didn't think the food was particularly good and I think the service could have been better. I had the feeling that the waitress wasn't interested. However, I really liked the wall decoration. Unfortunately it's still not recommended for me.

Wenn man reinkommt wird man herzlich begrüßt und man wird auch so bedient! Ich bin sehr zu Frieden da es ein Genuss ist so herzlich bedient zu werden sodass man sich fühlt als wäre man ein Teil von der Restaurant Familie. Das Essen war echt mega lecker und schön frisch. Ich muss dazu sagen das sie besten gäste Toiletten haben die ich je gesehen habe. Es ist nur zu empfehlen und freue mich aufs nächste mal!

Schön. Modern ausgestattet. Leider in den letzen Monaten massiv abgebaut. Getränke kaum gekühlt. Keine bis nur sehr wenig Kohlensäure (Cola Light/Zero). Preise leicht angehoben - bei den gestiegenen Kosten kein Problem - dafür aber Portionen massiv verkleinert. Diese gibt es nun nur noch auf einem kleinen Frühstücksteller. Um das die kleinen Teller auf den Tischen aber nicht so "verloren" aussehen, packt man unter den Frühstücksteller einfach noch einen Mittagsteller drunter. Und siehe da. Schon ist der Platz auf dem Tisch voll ausgenutzt, obwohl auf dem Teller nur noch winzige Portionen sind. Service ist sehr freundlich aber dieser eine Kellner mit dem lichten Haar ist so massiv aufdringlich freundlich, dass man sich sogar schon belästigt fühlt. Am liebsten würde man ihm einfach sagen, dass er bitte gehen soll und einen in Ruhe lassen möchte. Sein Kollege ist mindestens genauso freundlich, aber auf eine sehr angenehme, unaufdringliche Art und Weise. Uzo wird dauerhaft, kostenfrei nachgeschenkt. Wir lassen mal ein halbes oder ganzes Jahr vergehen und werden dann nochmal vorbei schauen, wie sich das Restaurant weiter entwickelt. Von 2/5 Sternen nun auf 3/5 verschlechtert. Echt schade.

Wir waren gestern das erste Mal im El Greco.Es war ein sehr schöner Abend gewesen.Das Essen war sehr gut und ein Dankeschön an den netten und zuvorkommenden Service.Wir kommen gerne wieder.

They managed to fit me in last minute. The friendly service ( even with my poor German) and the food hit the spot after a long day in the road. Highly recommend the coffe after hearty meal.
