Restaurant "Zur Dorfschänke" in Bad Dürkheim

We visited the Dorfschenke in Bad Dürkheim yesterday and were absolutely thrilled! The food was simply fantastic – freshly prepared with high-quality ingredients and full of flavor. The selection of regional wines rounded off the culinary experience. The service was very, very warm and attentive, making us feel immediately welcome. The ambiance is also friendly and cozy – just the right place to spend a lovely evening. We felt very comfortable and will definitely be back. Thank you for this wonderful evening!🙏

We were there spontaneously today, super good food, very good service and a great atmosphere, so a 10 out of 10, mega good, we would love to come back. Ps also very child friendly 🙂

I stopped by spontaneously and got a beautiful seat in the garden. The service was fast and very friendly. I had a side salad that was varied, and the steak was excellent. I would love to come back.

We went to the Dorfschänke for dinner again on Saturday, August 9, 2025. The food was good, as always. Unfortunately, we had to wait an hour and a half for our food. When we asked how long it would take, the waitress gave us the rude reply, "It'll take as long as it takes." We weren't asked if we wanted anything else to drink, nor did they apologize for it taking so long. On the contrary, the waitress, along with the guests at the next table, complained about our lack of patience. It was our last time there. It's a real shame.

In a word... World class 👌 Everything's perfect. Very freshly cooked food, friendly, good service, and reasonable prices. Great. The ambiance, both inside and outside, is very well-kept and cozy. Great...🫠

Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere. The service is simply friendly. Located a bit outside of the city center, this is an absolute insider tip and definitely worth a visit.

Very tasty food (bratwurst, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes or turkey steak with fried potatoes, plum compote with vanilla ice cream) and a delicious wine spritzer in a quaint restaurant with very friendly and attentive service. We're very happy about our "lucky find" (a Google search result). Reservations are recommended to be on the safe side, although we were lucky enough to get a table without one. Enjoy your meal! We'd love to come back the next time we're in the area!

Huge portions but not my cup of tea

A very successful evening We visited the restaurant last weekend with eight people and had a very pleasant evening. The service was friendly and attentive, and everything went smoothly. We all enjoyed the food – freshly prepared, beautifully presented, and in truly generous portions. The value for money was also good. A visit we would happily recommend – we'll definitely be back.

The two of us stopped by this quaint restaurant today without an appointment. There's not much space inside, but it's all the more cozy. Simple but nice. Quaint indeed. Very friendly staff. The food was also excellent. From the taste to the portion size, everything was just right. I can wholeheartedly recommend this little restaurant, and it certainly won't be the last time we visit.

Absolute benchmark schnitzel! We've always had it at the Schwarzer Adler, but since that's no longer available, there's a truly worthy successor!

I always enjoy coming here. In my opinion, they have some of the best schnitzel and cordon bleu in Bad Dürkheim, and they're always introducing new ideas for preparing dishes.

Quaint local. We received a very friendly welcome. Warm and friendly lady in service. Even though the kitchen was actually closed, we still got something to eat and were allowed to choose from the entire menu. The taste was excellent. Any time. We felt very comfortable

We were there for the first time on Saturday May 3rd, 2025. Completely spontaneous without reservation. After a short wait of 10 minutes we got our table. The waitress is very friendly and often checks in without being asked to see if everything is OK 😊 She is very nice. The restaurant has a beautiful old building charm (like grandma used to have) and is lovingly decorated. Right to feel good. The wooden tables in particular are reminiscent of the past and we thought they were great. The menu was clear and the prices were very fair depending on the portion! We both had the Viennese veal schnitzel and it was very, very tasty. We haven't eaten such good schnitzel in a long time. The grilled pepperoni was also excellent. We'll be back! Points are deducted because payment is only possible in cash and not by card. So 4/5 stars 🌟 Conclusion: Absolutely recommended!

The restaurant is really excellent. The owner is very nice and also responds very kindly to special requests. The schnitzels are extremely large and even tastier. The side salad is also a good size and is just as tasty as the main course. When the weather is good, you can also sit outside very nicely. All in all, the restaurant is definitely worth a visit and a further journey. I can only recommend it to everyone :). We'll be coming back from Mannheim soon. The schnitzels and the service are worth it!!!

Cozy, rustically furnished restaurant with very good food. According to my husband and grandson, rump steak was the best thing they have ever eaten. Schnitzel is delicious and so is the winemaker's steak. Portions huge, children's plates too. Conclusion = friendly service, cozy atmosphere and good food, at acceptable prices.

We sat nicely in the sun in a small, beautifully landscaped garden. Inside it is relatively small/cramped & rustic. The food was very good. I have rarely eaten such a delicious Viennese veal schnitzel (€24). That was perfect. I found the fries a bit too thick. The side salad was good. As a starter there was shrimps in garlic with dill (€13.80). Also good. Veal Cordon Bleu was also great and the service was very friendly. The Pinot Gris spritzer (€7.80) was good. Definitely highly recommended in summer.

Large delicious portions! Friendly service

We have been living in Bad Dürkheim for 10 years. I've been looking for a very good rump steak for 10 years. Today I found it! We also had the wild garlic soup and I also tried the tarte flambée with asparagus. Both very good too.

The food was excellent, finally a chef who understood what rare/bloody means! The service was very nice and accommodating. Unfortunately, the atmosphere is very uncomfortable. We prefer it to be cozy, rustic and less modern (but that's a matter of taste) and since all the guests were sitting in the small room in which a small child was screaming the whole time (the restaurant can't help it), we unfortunately didn't feel very comfortable there. If the guests had been divided into two rooms it would definitely have been more pleasant, as it was very loud with all the guests in a small space.

An inconspicuous, middle-class restaurant, we were even more impressed by everything!!! We received a very warm welcome, our dog was also welcome. The service is very friendly and attentive. The food is prepared and cooked personally by the boss. SIMPLY DELICIOUS!!! The portions are very large. The schnitzel was freshly prepared after ordering and you could even hear the knocking :) The steak was cooked to perfection, juicy, tender and the taste was simply a dream! We were totally thrilled and will definitely come back!!! What should be mentioned: ☆There is also a day ticket. ☆The restaurant has a few parking spaces. ☆Table reservation is recommended. ☆No card payment possible.

That was really great! Had the Sausage with chestnuts. You could taste that everything was homemade. Very friendly and very short waiting time for food. We'd love to come back.

If you want to eat good home-style food at a fair price, this is the place for you. The taste and quality of the food was impeccable. The portion size is more than filling (we didn't pack everything even though we are good eaters). The restaurant is particularly child-friendly. We were there with our 2 1/2 year old twins. Right after the menu came a large box of art supplies, games and books. Children under 3 years eat free from the children's menu. When an elderly couple complained about the twins' "loudness," the waitress explained to them that in a free country, children are part of society.

We were here for dinner on Sunday. The food was very tasty and freshly prepared. Unfortunately the lady who served us was rude and rude. We only received the bill verbally and after checking the prices it turned out that it did not match the prices listed on the menu. Really a shame!!

There is super delicious veal cordon bleu here. I always enjoy coming back. Very nice service! On warmer days you can sit in the beautiful garden, which reminds me a little of a fairytale forest. When the weather is cold it's nice to sit in the room.

Very small room, but super delicious food. Probably the best home-style food in the region. Only recommended!!! Service was also super friendly and nice. You feel like you are at home with mom/grandma. P.S.: Portions very large 😊 Our food: - Ox cheeks, so tender that they melt in your mouth. - Cordon Bleu filled with porcini mushrooms (a full plate size) that was very tender with super crispy breading and fresh mushrooms. Unfortunately no pictures because it was eaten too quickly and it was delicious 😋

A very nice evening with a very tasty meal and a super nice and cheerful service. The sweet culinary highlight was the rusty knight, which we still rave about today (a must try:-). We were thrilled and can only recommend this beautiful restaurant.

The Dorfschänke in Seebach offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere that invites you to linger. Here warm hospitality is combined with solid, regional cuisine. The porcini mushroom soup was a successful introduction - creamy and aromatic, with an intense mushroom flavor that was pleasantly warming. The fresh side salad was crunchy and provided a refreshing touch. A highlight was the red cabbage roulade, filled with tasty minced game. This combination was a delight both in taste and texture. The very tasty porcini mushroom cream sauce, which complemented the roulade wonderfully, was another plus. The roulade was reminiscent of traditional gołąbki and showed the cook's Polish handwriting. I would have been happy if the mashed potatoes advertised on the board had been served instead of the pumpkin puree. The pork cordon bleu was perfectly prepared: crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, accompanied by crispy fried potatoes, that's how you want cordon bleu. The ox cheeks were simply delicious – buttery tender and full of flavor. A real highlight! The Dorfschänke offers a good selection of regional Palatinate wines that go perfectly with the dishes. As a special touch, there is also the Polish Żubrówka vodka, which authentically complements the Palatinate restaurant in Polish hands. A few Polish dishes like Flaki, Żurek or Bigos would be a great addition to an already excellent menu and would enrich the culinary offering. For dessert there were the “Rusty Knights”, which were nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside – a sweet, cozy end to the menu. The attentive service also contributed to a successful evening. Overall, the Dorfschänke impresses with honest, well-prepared cuisine and a friendly atmosphere. A visit here is definitely recommended!

Cozy, homely restaurant with a few tables (be sure to reserve!). The service is very attentive and personable and the food is outstandingly good. We had pumpkin and porcini mushroom soup, a red cabbage roulade and a veal cordon bleu with porcini mushroom filling, from the autumn menu. All highly recommended. (no card payment, so bring enough cash)

The restaurant is inconspicuous, but I was even more positively surprised by the service and the quality of the food. The prices are reasonable for this quality. The menu is clear and limited to some seasonal dishes. But, as I said, this has an impact on the freshness of the products. The young lady from the service, who I was initially skeptical about, shone with a confident performance and even replaced an apple spritzer that had just been brought over, which our daughter had accidentally knocked over. She was very attentive and articulate (thank you for the professional service). The outdoor area is small but idyllic. We and our friends who were there will certainly come back. I have never eaten better schnitzel in different variations. Update August 6, 2024: A non-alcoholic wheat beer now costs €5.90. Probably the most expensive wheat in Bad Dürkheim. Please leave the church in the village.

We had dinner in the village tavern last night. We all ordered the veal cordon bleu and we all really enjoyed it. It was very delicious!! Afterwards there was a Black Forest cup and tiramisu... That was also delicious. When the weather was nice we were able to sit outside, which was really nice. We would like to come back!

You can taste that a lot of it is homemade. Had veal schnitzel with a dark gravy and mashed potatoes. Everything tasted very good.

Over an hour of waiting time for the food, some of it dry, several times what was ordered wasn't served. Noisy and cramped rooms. Invoice ended up wrong.

Check their website: Open Monday 17:00 Try to call to confirm: Nobody picks up Arrive at restaurant: New opening hours; closed Monday Wasted over an hour to get there EDIT: See picture, since the owner insisted the hours were correct. Door was closed and the sign in front of the restaurant read "new opening hours" which excluded Monday EDIT #2: To the insistence that the restaurant was open at 1700 today: it was not. Moreover, it has a sign with "new opening hours" on the board in front of the restaurant on which it said that it is now closed on Mondays. To the owner: go in front of your restaurant and look at what the board says for your opening hours.

Super delicious food. The schnitzel and fried potatoes were world class and the service was nice. The small drawback is the lack of card payment and you should put all the components of a meal on the card.

We were there at a family celebration. About 30 participants. The service was a bit overwhelmed, but still nice and very attentive. There was shrimp in sauce as a starter. I found this delicious, others found the sauce a bit too sour. The grilled pepperoni was also very good. The main course included salmon or schnitzel. The participants who had salmon were very pleased and it was also beautifully prepared. Schnitzel could have been a bit thicker, they were a bit dry. That was definitely due to the circumstances and therefore okay. Some sauce would have been good. But the taste was completely good, and the fried potatoes were also very good. The fries were homemade and also very good. For dessert there were rusty knights, which were so delicious, I've never had anything that good before. Highly recommended. I would like to give 5 stars for this day.

We were there for the first time today. It was incredibly loud... But now we had reserved a table and stayed. I had a winemaker's steak with a side salad and fries. You can optionally order herb butter or onion sauce... I wished for a bit of each but apparently that wasn't possible. So I got a large bowl of very oily onion sauce and 2 pieces of herb butter. Even though I barely touched the onion sauce because it was too oily, I paid the full price. The waitress asked what was wrong but didn't respond further to my answer. Well, that was just my bad luck... We would come back because the food (except the onion sauce) was okay, but the noise was an absolute no go! The space isn't very big either. Maybe it's a little more comfortable outside in summer.

I would like to say in advance that the Dorfschänke is run by a very lovely family. We got to meet mom and daughter that evening. There is still real passion and commitment in this company! We ate a delicious cordon bleu and Hawaiian schnitzel there. The portion of the children's schnitzel was also very generous, and ordering a cream sauce for the child was no problem at all. The salad was also really tasty and fresh. The service was very attentive and friendly throughout the evening. We were absolutely thrilled that they responded so kindly to changes and requests. The Hawaiian schnitzel wasn't on the menu and yet it was made possible. I was very happy about that. When we asked if there was also Trout Müllerin style, we were told that we could specify that when making our next reservation and then they would make it for us. Where else is there something like that? Such an accommodating thing! At the end there was even a "children's schnapps" for the child too, so that they don't feel left out when the adults drink a liqueur. So sweet, really.
