Joujou in Bad Dürkheim

A very nice place for individualists who are looking for a special café, bakery or restaurant with people who have not yet lost their grip on the ground. We were there as part of the mindfulness market. The offer was varied and very nice. The food was convincing in terms of quality and taste. The Advent market takes place in December, to which we come again with the whole family to enjoy a beautiful day. Higher enjoyment factor with lots of thoughts about sustainability and regionality. The bakery also scores points with special baked goods that are gluten-free. The vegan selection of dishes is great - and there was also organic bratwurst in the bun. We find this mixture to be very positive. The ambience and atmosphere are exceptional and very beautiful. We look forward to our next visit to Jou jou!

Simply fantastic! Everything is perfect here, from the concept to the implementation. The ambience, both in the courtyard and inside, is extremely harmonious and invites you to linger. I've already enjoyed breakfast and the coffee break and tried the dinner last night - and as always I was pleasantly surprised! The petit menu was excellently put together, lovingly prepared and simply delicious. Here you can really speak of first-class cuisine, which, despite being vegan, also offers meat and fish options. A real highlight in the Palatinate! 🤩 I highly recommend this place and look forward to my next visit!

It was our first visit today. We are totally excited about the concept, but even more so about the enthusiasm of all the employees who really live the concept. Coffee ☕️ and cake 🎂 were also very good. We also went to the farm shop and packed our bags full 😀 We were thrilled by the delicious gluten-free rolls, pure fruit jam and olive oil. First of all, it should be said that we felt very well received. Our dog was also welcome🐶. The service was very courteous and there was champagne on the house because you had won a gastronomy award. The rooms are very attractive and you sit comfortably. Personally, the price/performance ratio was a bit strange to me. I know that quality and sustainability have their price, but with two starters (and that's usually enough to fill me up) and a bill of around 23 euros plus a drink, I left the restaurant hungry rather than full. The salad was delicious and presented in a somewhat unusual way. The "Kohlrabi taeschchen" were really very manageable (2 small things with lots of dollops around them and a few sprouts on top for a sporty 15.90 EURO) although again very attractively presented. Please take this as constructive criticism. We were also charged an extra 3 euros for a portion of bread. With such portion sizes, I would have expected this to be included as a filling side dish.

Very nice restaurant with friendly staff. We were greeted with champagne on the house, but that was the last time we were pleasantly surprised. My parents each ordered a starter salad, which was tasty, but very small and not really that special (lettuce, cucumber, tomato, carrot with balsamic dressing and a thin slice of baguette as decoration). I had pumpkin gnocchi, which was excellent, but a relatively small portion (8-10 gnocchi if you have enough) for a reasonable 23 EUR. My mother had the cauliflower dumplings: 2 dumplings the size of gyoza for 16 EUR (!!!) and my dad ordered meat, which was served in 2 thin slices on a mini plate as a side dish. He also had to pay an extra EUR 3 for 3 half slices of bread. All in all, it's a shame that there is such extreme skimping here. I often like to spend money on good food, but then you have to be able to fill yourself up with a main course or two starters. I would have really liked to come back and bring my vegan and gluten-free girls with me too. Unfortunately it was rather disappointing and I would advise against it as long as the portions are still so measly.

We only bought bread and rolls there. Gluten free. The best gluten free bread/rolls so far. It certainly wasn't my last purchase there. Next time the restaurant will also be tested. I'm curious.

If you like small portions at expensive prices, Joujou is exactly what you are looking for. Otherwise you are unfortunately wrong here. Overall rating: everything is fine. The food is delicious but the portions are just far too small for the price.

A must for all fans of plant-based cuisine! The food is not only vegan, but also a delight for the palate. The lovely farm shop with organic products completes the experience. The children's play area makes the visit fun for families too. An all-round successful place!

Wonderful ambience, very stylishly furnished. Creative, vegan cuisine and very friendly service. At EUR 19.90 for the "Ackergold" with grilled vegetables, I would have hoped for more than half a sweet potato, a single grilled tomato, a small piece of zucchini, a small piece of eggplant and a tiny piece of fennel. There was no herb dip either, as (I seem to remember) it said on the menu. Unfortunately, I went home hungry. And to do this you have to dig relatively deep into your wallet. For the high price and the far too small portion, I have to deduct a star. Even the children had to order more because they simply weren't satisfied with the portions (potato salad). And no, none of us are obese or particularly overeaten. The second missing star comes from the far too thin (!) wine spritzer. Unfortunately, several parties at the table complained about this...this is actually the other way around in the Palatinate.

Celebrated my birthday there. Reserved in advance and the menu selection was discussed for 10 people. With champagne reception. Outdoor space later indoors. From start to finish, super friendly welcome and service. Excellent starters, main courses and dessert. Everything just fit.

Delicious food and beautiful ambience. The offer, very special, sustainably and organically selected. For conscious eaters, a restaurant that is unique in the region. There is a star deduction for the portion size. But given the (justified) prices, I would at least like to be full.

Very tastefully decorated ambience with a great courtyard. The vegan/gluten-free concept is implemented very well here and impresses with its quality and freshness. Thumbs up for the vegan burger. Our friendly waitress can be forgiven for making a mistake...after all, it was Monday - and that's all right in the Palz! We'd love to come back.

First of all: the food is very tasty. Alternatively sweetened dishes, no standard recipes, but prepared in an interesting and lively way! Unfortunately the portions are tiny. Service is mediocre, regardless of whether there is a lot or little going on. Sometimes I was “forgotten” and had to reorder... that was annoying. I think it'll stay with this one visit for now...

We stopped at Joujou for lunch while passing through. Since 2 of our 3 children have celiac disease, we were very happy about the opportunity to eat safely gluten-free here. Unfortunately, having a carefree meal with the two of them is hardly possible anymore. We were able to totally relax here...thank you for that! Our 7 year old enjoyed the spaghetti with tomato sauce so much that he called it "the best pasta he's ever eaten!" praised. Everyone else also enjoyed it very much and we felt very comfortable. Unfortunately, unfortunately we can't come more often. But maybe on the way again!

The JouJou is a wonderful, cozy place in Leistadt. It combines modern, vegetarian and vegan cuisine with the Palatinate way of life. Here you can relax and end the day with good food and good wine.

The store is very woke. A bit too much for me personally. However, the staff are very nice and there are many small, very tasty meals of excellent quality. Prices are rather cheap. So overall very good.

Hello, really nice here. It's Monday and I'm enjoying burger day with a great friend. The weather is good and the people are nice. Unfortunately I wasn't served a burger, but rather a piece of toast with meat and a cucumber that was a bit too big. The overall impression remains good despite the circumstances. Great concept - basically vegan, but it is possible for omnivores to order meat or fish for an additional charge of 10 euros. In terms of taste (and of course visually) it was extremely delicious, 100% vegan and gluten-free for us. Great atmosphere, young friendly team. Due to unavailable staff we had slightly longer waiting times, which were well compensated for. Clear recommendation 😊

Leider sehr enttäuschend. Ich war nach 2 Jahren wieder mal im JouJou und war vom Geschmack des Essens und Preis-Leistung maßlos enttäuscht. Ich hatte ein indisches Gericht gewählt und bekam eine Schüssel mit einem geschmacklosen Erbsen-Möhren-Ragout mit trockenen Kartoffeln. Der Salat zur Vorspeise war frisch und knackig, aber kein Hexenwerk. Schade, ich war die letzen Besuche begeistert von der geschmacklichen Vielfalt und den Aromen, davon ist bis auf das schöne Ambiente und eine gute Weinsuswahl nichts übrig geblieben.

Great little restaurant with special dishes. All organic. Many vegan products. Definitely very tasty and worth a visit. Attentive service. Everything was very nice and very tasty. The wine selection is very good. Organic wines that taste very good. The concept with an attached farm shop completes the whole thing. Hummus with falafel is awesome. Keep it up and hopefully more people will become aware of such great things and restaurants. Chip shops, kebabs and Mekkes are unhealthy and make you sick. People think about it. Less is more. Eat less but eat healthy. I think that's what you want too.

I've been to your restaurant twice now and was impressed both times. You really have EVERYTHING going for you: ambience, food, service, friendliness - and that doesn't stop when you order in the online shop. The breads are the tastiest I've eaten in these 23 years and everything else - e.g. the espresso - is really great. Delivery is prompt and if you have any questions you can also get to a friendly contact person on the phone. Please keep it up! With me you have gained a loyal customer. Conclusion: Based on the prices and the image of the restaurant, we would have expected better food and, above all, better/faster service. Details: I was very happy to have a vegan restaurant in the region. Unfortunately, my first visit today didn't convince me at all, which is why I'm writing a review for once. Food: We were there for brunch. The food was generally good. There are two points deducted because: Unfortunately, pancakes were not good, very crumbly on the inside and not fluffy at all. I didn't like the smoothie either, I suspect it was a mixture of apple and banana and therefore extremely sweet. Finally, the coffee wasn't very good. The cappuccino wasn't a cappuccino either - it was simply a cup of cafe crema and a carafe of warm oat milk. The scrambled eggs, the carrot salad and the cheese with pepper were delicious. Most of our group also found the rolls delicious. Service: First of all we had to wait 30 minutes just to order our drinks. After another 20 minutes the smoothie and muesli arrived. After another 10 minutes the standardized breakfast arrived - there was still no sign of our drinks. Finally, after another 15 minutes, our drinks arrived. Our breakfast for five people was the same size as the breakfast for two at the next table. Only when we asked did we find out that you can reorder at no extra charge. This is good because of sustainability, but I think we could have been told that right from the start. Since all the tables had the same breakfast, I generally wondered why they didn't just set up a buffet. In this way, staff problems could be prevented (when we were paying, we were told that a service worker was unavailable at short notice that day) and the concept anyway was that every table could order food until they were full By the way, the atmosphere was very nice and cozy, super nice courtyard.

I've been eating gluten-free for some time and have already tried out a lot of bread, etc. I came across Jou Jou by chance and have never tasted such delicious gluten-free bread. It also stays fresh for a very long time and can be frozen well. I've tried 3 varieties now and they're all delicious! I will now order there more often (unfortunately a bit far away for us) and definitely want to have lunch there.

I have to revise my previous review and really give praise. This was my second time at JouJou and this time I wasn't disappointed. The service this time was much better and more attentive and served us well. The only thing that was a bit strange was the slightly more complicated reservation process, which only took place via email, and the special features when booking for more than 8 people and might have to be better clarified in a personal conversation. My constant questions could have been better solved with a personal phone call or suggested via email. Since the phone number is only available during opening hours and I couldn't get through several times because the service is busy and even then there is hardly any time. The food this time was great, the portion sizes, the preparation and the quality of the food were right. I was really glad that I dared to come there again. This was also one hundred percent due to the detailed answer and the fact that my criticism was taken seriously. I will definitely come back and recommend this exceptional restaurant.

I had dinner with my daughters for Mother's Day and it was 100% outstanding. The food, the service fantastic, the service has improved significantly.

The well-intentioned three stars refer to my purchase of farmhouse bread the day before yesterday. The price-performance ratio simply doesn't fit. I tested the first slices of the 750g bread for €5.90 shortly after buying it yesterday. The inside was very moist and rubbery doughy, nothing special in terms of taste. After another day, the bread was similar in consistency and tasted no better than bread of the same age from a discount store. What a joke to charge these prices.

We were there for coffee and cake. The portions were not appropriate for the price. I can also advise against “oat milk”. The cake was still delicious. Not the coffee.

Wir fanden die Empfehlung im Internet, wir planten einen Ausflug in die Pfalz zu den Mandelblüten. Dabei suchten wir nach einem typisch Pfälzer Menue und fanden eine Seite mit Mandelmenues, wo auch das JouJou angeboten wurde. In unserer Familie gibt es einen Veganer, daher schien uns JouJou geeignet. Nun, wir wurden freundlich bedient, das Mandelmenue wurde nicht mehr angeboten, obwohl es bis zum 07.03. laufen sollte. Das fanden wir nicht so schlimm, dafür gab es ein Frühlingsmenue. Wenn man kein Veganer ist, kann man bei den Menues Fleisch gegen Aufpreis hinzubuchen. Das habe ich wahrgenommen, leider ist dieser Wunsch untergegangen. Bei meinem Sohn ist der Wunsch nicht untergegangen und ich durfte man davon kosten. Wir fanden die Qualität eher durchschnittlich gemessen am Preis, auch die Auswahl auf der Karte ließ etwas zu wünschen übrig. Leider fanden wir nur den Sommergruß als Nachtisch richtig gut.

We had lunch at Joujou and really loved it. I have to eat a gluten-free diet and have eaten a lot of gluten-free bread in my life. The bread from Joujou is really great and still very tasty even after 2 days or frozen and thawed again. It's also great that the bread is now also sold at the market in Landau. So the journey is not that far for me.

Super cute little restaurant, inconspicuous at first glance. We were there spontaneously because everything else was either closed or already full on a Monday evening. We got the last table of the evening, enjoyed a small antipasti platter together and enjoyed the great wines! I will come back. We were also offered another waffle outside of the line, even though the iron was actually already turned off. THAT is customer friendliness and customer love, thank you!

Wir waren heute das erste Mal im JouJou und die Erwartungen waren, auch aufgrund der überschwänglichen Bewertungen, entsprechend hoch. Das Konzept mit Bistro, Hofladen etc. ist sehr süß und mit viel Liebe gemacht, der Service freundlich und aufmerksam. Auch die Idee einer achtsamen, nachhaltigen und teilweise veganen Küche finden wir super. Aber leider muss man festhalten, dass die Küche die Erwartungen in keiner Weise erfüllen kann. Wir hatten fast alle Speisen, die auf der Karte angeboten wurden und nicht eine konnte auch nur ansatzweise überzeugen. In Verbindung mit, für die Pfalz durchaus sportlichen Preisen (Hauptspeise 38€), sorgt das natürlich für eine gewisse Unzufriedenheit.

We've been to Joujou a few times and couldn't wait for our first visit, especially since we follow a vegan and gluten-free diet. Vegan food or gluten-free food separately can certainly be found, but in this combination it is almost impossible. We were really looking forward to our first visit. And it's just really good. An absolutely creative menu, absolutely delicious food. Both the interiors and the garden have so much wonderful flair. We love it and are very grateful for your presence, dear Joujou! We have also always experienced extremely nice service and received information on various questions. So everyone: go there and convince yourself of the high-quality food and organic products...it's worth it!

I am really excited. Discovered by chance and simply happy with the products. The breads are so delicious and, above all, I can tolerate it too. I have tried the baked goods and sweet pastries so far. Everyone on site is always super friendly and helpful! Full marks for a great concept! I have to change my diet a lot for health reasons and Joujou definitely makes it a lot easier. I placed my first order online. Even shipping was quick and easy. Well packaged and arrived in great quality.

Wir waren heute zum Frühstück im Joujou und werden nun nicht nur zum Frühstück wiederkommen.😉 Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt und an unseren Platz geführt. Die "Gaststube" ist klein und schnuckelig und sehr sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Das Essen ist mega lecker und reichlich. Das was es für 2 Personen zu essen gibt, reicht für 4 Personen. Man bot uns aber direkt an , den Rest einzupacken. Dafür bekommt man ein wiederverwertbares Behältnis (man zahlt lediglich 5 Euro Pfand). Aufgrund der Frische der Produkte kostet es entsprechend etwas mehr und ist nix für den schmalen Geldbeutel, aber man geht ja auch nicht jeden Tag frühstücken. Für uns war es auf jeden Fall ein Highlight zum Wochenausklang.

Freundlicher Service. Eingesetzte Produkte scheinen von guter Qualität, jedoch einfachst zubereitete Gerichte, ohne besonderen Geschmack. Überteuert.

Wir haben das Joujou auf eine Empfehlung hin vor ca. 1 1/2 Jahren als Paar das erste Mal getestet und waren von Beginn an begeistert. Seitdem ist ein Besuch bei jeder Reise in die Pfalz absolute Pflicht. Auch als Nicht-Veganer, hat uns bis heute jedes Gericht absolut begeistert. Teils ausgefallene aber immer durchdachte und mit Liebe angerichtete Speisen, super leckeres Brot aus eigener Produktion, netter, zuvorkommender Service und dazu eine wirklich tolle Weinkarte, die selbst in der Pfalz ihres gleichen sucht. Bei einem Besuch im Sommer sitzt man auf der Sonnenterasse unserer Meinung nach so gut, wenn gewünscht privat, und gemütlich wie sonst kaum im Umkreis. Absolute Empfehlung!

Wir haben ein sehr feines Wildgericht gegessen.

Meine Freundin und ich haben gestern einen absolut gemütlichen und außergewöhnlich gustatorischen Abend im Joujou verbracht. Dieser Ort hat uns einfach umgehauen! Wir sind beide vegan beziehungsweise vegetarisch und waren begeistert von der Vielfalt, die auf der Speisekarte angeboten wurde. Ich entschied mich für die super leckere vegane Bowl, die nicht nur farbenfroh und ansprechend serviert wurde, sondern auch geschmacklich alle Erwartungen übertraf. Die Frische der Zutaten und die Aromen waren einfach perfekt. Meine Freundin wagte sich an das kreativ angerichtete Nachtschattengewächs, und auch sie war begeistert. Die Kombination von Aromen und Texturen war beeindruckend und machte dieses Gericht zu einem wahren kulinarischen Erlebnis. Der Service im Joujou war ebenso bemerkenswert. Das Personal war aufmerksam und freundlich, und die Atmosphäre war entspannt und einladend. Insgesamt war unser Besuch im Joujou ein Highlight, und wir können es kaum erwarten, wiederzukommen. Wenn Sie auf der Suche nach außergewöhnlich leckerem und einfallsreichem Essen sind, dann ist dies definitiv der richtige Ort für Sie! Sehr schön umgebaut, super geeignet für Veganer und Vegetarier, hervorragendes glutenfreies Brot. Kleines Team in der Küche… daher kann es manchmal etwas dauern…. Auch beim Brot kaufen muss man sich laut bemerkbar machen.

Endlich habe ich es geschafft, den Mittagstisch vom Joujou zu probieren und ich bin absolut begeistert. Das Essen war unglaublich lecker und dazu sitzt man bei dem herrlichen Wetter idyllisch und gemütlich auf der wunderschönen Terrasse. Das war sicher nicht mein letzter Besuch in der Mittagspause.

Spontan habe ich für 2 Personen auf Empfehlung reserviert was auch mit Hund kein Problem war. Also selten in letzter Zeit so gut und innovativ gegessen, sehr kreativ, tolle Qualität und sehr ansprechend angerichtet mit viel Liebe. Auch der Piwi Wein war großes Kino.( Sauvinac) Klasse Personal, sehr gerne wieder . Sehr empfehlenswert Und schön hergerichtetes Ambiente. Auch der Hofladen ist klasse.

Der Besuch bei euch war Wellness für meine Seele. Das Essen war hervorragend, der Service sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und das Ambiente super schön! Gegessen habe ich den "Nachtschatten", gefüllte Aubergine mit Ofenkarotten und Kürbis-Chili-Püree. Zum Nachtisch gab's noch eine Haselnuss-Waffel mit Nougat-Creme und heißen Kirschen. Es war sehr sehr köstlich! Ich komme wieder und werde euch auch auf jeden weiter empfehlen. Vielen Dank!

Sehr schöner Biergarten, sehr leckeres veganes Essen, aber auch für Omnivore bestens geeignet.🌱 Das selbst gemachte Brot ist der Hammer. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

Wir haben das JouJou per Zufall auf Google gefunden. Das Konzept gefällt uns sehr gut und das Essen war sehr lecker. Wir hatten das "scharfe" Linsencurry, welches eher pikant war. Trotzdem war es sehr lecker und raffiniert zubereitet. Das selbstgemachte Brot ist der Hammer! Wir haben uns direkt zwei Brote im Hofladen gekauft. Das Konzept "Restaurant + Hofladen + Lokale Zutaten) ist gut umgesetzt. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Leider kann ich trotz des schönen Ambientes nur vom Frühstück abraten. Es gab 1 Brötchen und eine Scheibe Brot für 2 Personen. Die 2 weitern Brötchen musste wir selbst zahlen und 15 min darauf warten. Hätte ich nicht noch die Wurst und den Wels für 12 € dazu genommen, wüsste ich ehrlichgesagt nicht, wie man von allem satt werden soll. Wenn das Personal etwas präsenter wäre und ab und an mal auch etwas vom Tisch abräumen würde, hätte man solche Unstimmigkeiten evtl. klären können. Also haben wir am Ende für ein Frühstück das wir nicht genießen konnten 80€ ! gezahlt. Selbst 40€ wären mir zu viel gewesen aber 80 ?!?!?! Das ist weit weg von dem was man dafür bekommen sollte. Ich hoffe die Kritik wird sich zu Herzen genommen, es wäre schade drum.

Sehr gerne hätten wir etwas gegessen und getrunken (Terrasse), bekamen dazu allerdings keine Gelegenheit. Nach 20 Minuten weder Begrüßung, noch Speise- oder Getränkekarte, geschweige denn Bestellung möglich. Umso skurriler, da wir am Bistroeingang gefragt hatten, ob es noch ein Plätzchen für uns gibt. Service leider Fehlanzeige. Die Gäste an den anderen Tischen tauschten sich ebenso bereits zu den wohl unendlich langen Wartezeiten aus - egal ob zum Bestellen oder Bezahlen. Das können andere sehr viel besser.
