Restaurant „Zum Stromer“ in Rostock

The food is shockingly expensive, even for Warnemünde, but still delicious and special. In addition, the concept with 2 runs up to and from 7 p.m. is particularly strenuous, as you are constantly looking at the clock and the waitress is in distress by rushing the guests. However, the service is unnecessarily over-friendly. In addition, the guests are neither particularly well dressed nor have any special manners that the ambience is considered really upscale. Overall, the restaurant is a nice change on the Baltic Sea coast, but nothing special if you come from another larger city.

A stay in Warnemünde without a visit to the Stromer is no longer conceivable. The ambience is exceptional, very good service and the food is great.

A great restaurant, with the best experience of our Warnemünde holiday over the turn of the year. Great quality of food and drinks, loving, artistic furnishings and very friendly and attentive staff. PS: Das Service-System ist natürlich etwas anders, als in den meisten Restaurants. Zwischen der ersten Servicezeit von 17 bis 19 Uhr und der zweiten ab 19.30 Uhr gibt es eine Pause ohne Service, das Restaurant schließt für diese Zeit. Vielleicht kann man das noch deutlicher kommunizieren, dann gibt es auch keine falschen Erwartungen.

Ein sehr schönes Ambiente mit super freundlichem Service, einfach genial. Tolle Auswahl an Getränken - alles was das Herz begehrt. Gekrönt wurde der Abend mit einem Menü, dass seines gleichen sucht und einem 5-Sterne Restaurant jederzeit gleichwertig ist - ausgezeichnet und mit viel Liebe zum Detail präsentiert. Frischer Fisch und Gemüse aus eigenem Bio-Anbau haben uns verzaubert, der Nachtisch war der Hit. Jederzeit ist das Restaurant zu empfehlen. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Michael aus Berlin.

Small but fine restaurant in Warnemünde with excellent food and great service.

If you are looking for a small, fine, traditional and stylish restaurant with a great selection of special fish and meat and regional vegetables, this is the right place for you. Everything is super fresh and delicious. The starters and desserts are also a poem. From the ironed blanket and cloth napkins, the candle holders, a fireplace to the professional and charming service, everything is perfect. Highly recommended for any occasion when you want to do something good for yourself and others. Gladly again.

As always, we had a very tasty meal in the restaurant "Zum Stromer". I've been there several times now and it's always been very tasty. The staff is always friendly and will fulfill every wish if possible. Certainly an insider tip for Warnemünde. Better food, especially when it comes to fish You can't get it anywhere else in Warnemünde. The value for money and the quality of the food are definitely right here.

Actually, one word is enough: PERFECT! We were traveling in Warnemünde as a couple and luckily were able to get a spot. Great ambience, great service and great food. The waitress was super attentive, friendly and you immediately felt at home. Just perfect from start to finish. The food was a dream, from the starter, to the main courses, to the dessert. Here, someone loves what they do and you can taste it. We'd love to come back.

Food incredibly tasty, quality top! The fish soup and shrimp were amazing! The child was also super happy with her dish. Absolute heart recommendation! It was our first time in the “Zum Stromer” restaurant and it certainly won’t be the last time. The food was a 10/10. We haven't eaten so well in a long time. We had beef medallions and ox cheeks. The portions were large and absolutely everything was delicious. The restaurant is a bit away from the typical tourist hustle and bustle and unfortunately a bit hidden, which is why not everyone notices it but it is definitely worth a visit. The rustic ambience and the super friendly staff alone are worth eating there. We'll definitely be back!!!

One of our favorite restaurants on the coast, a great experience, very attentive service, delicious selection of dishes, so we had a great three-course meal despite arriving late. Many thanks to the great team on site on October 2nd, 2024.

Absolutely recommended and always worth a visit. Everything is just right here. The ambience, the staff and of course the food. Here you can tell that everything is done with passion. The friendly and helpful service staff who always keep an eye on the table and respond quickly if you have a request. The food: a taste experience that you have to try. Both the starters + greetings from the kitchen, main course and dessert. Simply delicious and rarely eaten so deliciously. I can really recommend it to everyone.

Nice little restaurant with two reservation time blocks, the first at 5 p.m. and the second at 7:30 p.m. The service was very nice and attentive. Our choice was fish, field vegetables and a vegetable stir-fry. We started with aioli and bread. Both very tasty, aioli was made on cream cheese cream, very tasty. The food can be served in a reasonable time. Fish on vegetables was very good. The vegetable stir-fry didn't come in the pan, but on the plate. Confusing name. Unfortunately, the field vegetables mainly consisted of onions. Carrots, cabbage and beans had to be looked for. Therefore, an onion pan or, better yet, ziebel plate. Nothing could save the cream side dish and the cold mashed potatoes and that too for a whopping 19 euros! This is definitely better elsewhere. Too bad, not for vegetarians. Here the focus is clearly on meat and fish with correspondingly high prices. Everything should be from the region! That could definitely have been the onions😉

We were at the Stromer for the first time, you come into the guest room and immediately have the feeling of being at home, very pleasant atmosphere, very attentive and friendly service, the food, so if this chef doesn't have at least one star, you wonder who does, very good in taste, very nicely prepared, great restaurant. When we are in Warnemünde, we always stop at the Stromer restaurant. Delicious freshly prepared food, nice staff, what more could you want. Prices are a little higher, but justified. Be sure to reserve in advance as there are only a few seats. In warm weather you can sit on the terrace.

Found it via Google and hit the jackpot. Ambience + service + cuisine simply great. We were all thrilled and will be back. The two times (we were in the second) were also good, so it was quieter, everything was at the table and very clean. Great!

The location has a lot of charm and the cozy and rustic ambience simply invites you to feel good. Although it can be reached quickly by the river, it is away from the usual tourist hustle and bustle of Warnemünde. The food is always delicious and, despite the higher prices, definitely worth the money. The changing menu always has something new to offer and we have never been disappointed here. The service is always very friendly and attentive, without ever being intrusive. In general, one can only give a big recommendation here!

We were recommended the restaurant by friends and are very impressed. Far away from the hustle and bustle of Warnemünde tourists, the restaurant is in a quiet location. It is very tastefully decorated and you immediately feel at home, which is also due to the very friendly reception and service. That evening we decided on the 3-course daily menu and were not disappointed visually or especially in terms of taste. We find the menu price of €54 to be absolutely fair. We will definitely come back next time we are in Warnemünde and can only recommend everyone to eat here. Don't forget to reserve!

We found it very strange and rude for us as customers that we had reserved for 7.30 p.m. and arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes earlier and had to wait outside on wet chairs because there were 2 dinner groups (5-7.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.). It seemed like that to me in the youth hotel. The food was very good! A relaxed approach to the guests right from the start would be nice.

The food and service were really excellent. Even all the changes to the reservation that we had to make beforehand were taken into account and implemented without any problems. Just great.

Over the years we have been to 'Stromer' for dinner 6 times. Despite our journey of over 1000 km to a holiday home on the Darss, the 1 hour to Warnemünde at the end of our holiday is always associated with anticipation of the 'Stromer'. A pleasure every time and always friendly staff! But now we noticed that we couldn't get a "real" menu anymore. A QR code or, like our astonished table neighbors, we had to use the tablets provided to make our selection 🤔.... When we asked the staff, we were kindly told that we didn't know what the government was doing and that we were who would rather save 200/300 euros for the cards 😐. Ummmmm???...🙄 Still in the corona bubble???🤔 Or austerity measures in the wrong place!? In my opinion, something like this is not appropriate in such a special and high-quality atmosphere. A beautifully designed menu simply has flair or not? It also occurred to me that more attention should be paid to the mirror and windows when cleaning. The windows could still be opened even in very warm temperatures. Unfortunately these were closed. I think where you lock up, you can probably unlock 😉. We were there for the first time. Had reserved in advance by phone. Because the place is usually sold out. The restaurant is very small and clear. With about 12 tables. Therefore, privacy is not a given. Unless you whisper to the other person. Because of this, we quickly got into conversation with our nice table neighbors. After 10 minutes the waitress came to take our drinks order. When she later brought a small greeting from the kitchen, she realized that she had forgotten to bring our drinks. It just happens given the size of the place. I had the cod. The dish was very nicely prepared. And it was also very tasty. Maybe it was just a coincidence that I got diarrhea after eating. My wife had the ox cheeks. They were also very tasty. But the portion was very manageable. I've gotten larger portions for the price. You have to like the atmosphere of the place. The pictures on the wall in particular are a matter of taste. The service was friendly and attentive. However, the prices are high. But you know that beforehand.

Great ambience, rustic/elegant, the restaurant breathes history! The staff was super attentive and very friendly without being intrusive. The food is simply an ode to the taste buds, the meat is buttery tender, the sauce is a very successful composition, the vegetables are tender with just the right crunch. The dessert was a great ending. Price-performance ratio is completely fine. Portion size more than sufficient, we are still completely full 3 hours later Conclusion: Cozy, brilliant food, great staff, an all-round success, always again!!!

Die Speisen waren köstlich, mit Liebe gekocht. Der Kellner Jan war sehr zuvorkommend. Sein aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service trug wesentlich zu einem gelungenen Abend bei. Last weekend we booked a table for 7:30 p.m. and were there at 7:20 p.m. My husband, who has mobility problems, went into the restaurant and reported to the lady at the counter (all the tables were not yet occupied!) and was very rudely told that we had only ordered at 7:30 p.m. and that he wanted to wait outside. I would have preferred to leave. Regardless, the food and ambience were very appealing and the service staff were politely friendly. Based on the above experience, we will probably look for another location in the future.

A restaurant that there could be more of in Rostock when it comes to atmosphere! Beautiful finishes, beautiful flooring, white tablecloths, candles. I could make out the music. To be honest, I find the pictures on the wall...well, naked women's bodies for food to be at least tasteless and inappropriate. The service was very friendly. Still only 3 stars because I don't think the food is justified for the price. It is very tastefully prepared, the products are good, but the taste is rather ordinary and not surprising. Unfortunately, the entire restaurant tends to fall apart.
