We were passing through here and had high expectations based on the rating - 4.8. The service was very friendly and the decor was successful. However, the food was only mediocre. Disappointing.

On the way through on our summer vacation we had a stopover in Rückersdorf. Thanks to the 4.8 (!) stars in the Google reviews, it quickly became clear that the Restaurant zum Holzwurm was the place to go for dinner. Long story short, I don't know where this high rating comes from. The food was middle class at best. The lumberjack steak isn't a culinary challenge, it worked like this, the meat wasn't fried but as I said, anyone can do it. The salad with mushrooms, on the other hand, was a challenge for the customer. Coarsely grated carrots, iceberg lettuce, cucumber, a few mushrooms... all served with a yoghurt dressing a la Metro, sorry guys, 14.00 euros is definitely too much for this thing that ended up being carelessly grated together with ready-made dressing. The restaurant itself is somewhat lovingly designed, which seems important given the area around the apartment block. Service was nice and courteous, which earned you a bonus star from me. Unfortunately the rest could be improved.

Discovered on transit. A super friendly waiter welcomed us and we were served quickly. The beer garden was very full but the waiter still took time to listen to our requests. The food tasted good and to our satisfaction. So a compliment to the kitchen too. So if you are looking for good cuisine, very fast and friendly service in an unfamiliar environment - this is the right place for you. We will definitely come back.

Very tasty large Schäufele in a rustic atmosphere with great service! We spontaneously drove off the motorway and were very happy with our decision to drive to the “Holzwurm”!!

Very nice restaurant with very friendly operators. The dishes are very tasty and are perfectly garnished and served. It was a great pleasure to be a guest here and to be pampered. It's worth the trip from the Bamberg district.

Small menu but everything was well prepared

It was my first time here and I was very positively surprised. The ambience is exactly what I like. I had a Schäufele pancake soup and apple cuisine for dessert. Additional sauce was added with no questions asked. Absolutely friendly staff. And if the weather is nice you can also sit outside. Normally no parking problems. Reservations would probably be appropriate on weekends or holidays. I'd happily drive 90 km there and back for such a great pub and food. A big compliment to all employees. Was great.

There were four of us and ate Schäufele and Cordon Bleu and then the dessert from the daily menu (warm chocolate cake with a liquid center). Everything tasted great, but the Schäufele crust was simply a dream. That's the way it has to be! The nice, courteous service is also absolutely praiseworthy. The furnishings are rustic yet modern. The prices are absolutely reasonable for this quality. We'll definitely be back! 👍🏻

Great contact in advance, then you come in and find yourself in such a wonderfully rustic restaurant that you can hardly find today. The friendliest people who genuinely welcome you in a friendly way and that's how you feel. The kicker follows, the food, especially the Schäufele we had, is the best thing we've ever had on our plate. A dream portion, so tasty and then extra sauce... plus the friendly service that checked to see if you wanted anything else and at the end the chef even came out and asked if it was good. That was it, it was an experience and we can't praise it enough, any time again, that alone made the long journey from our homeland worth it...

Beautiful room - attentive, super nice service. The kitchen was quick and the beer and food were delicious. The selection of dishes is manageable - but there is something for everyone. Personally, I think it's serious, because you know the food is fresh and delicious 😋 We'll be happy to come back and be recommended!

Food was great, non-alcoholic wheat for over €4 is a bit excessive. Furnishings are exaggeratedly kitschy. Entrance area is unattractive

Top restaurant, I can't complain at all, both from the employee and guest perspective, top facility, food and staff 😋💪 Visiting the restaurant is a must, if you don't do that you're missing out on a lot. From the staff, I can tell you that you simply cannot imagine a better team, all the people on the team are very friendly, helpful and just great people, stay healthy🍀

Very pleasant restaurant with extremely friendly service and fair prices. It's hidden in a fairly modern building, but is really cozy. There is typical local food in decent portions, which we as travelers liked.

Price performance was great Atmosphere as you would expect in Bavaria It's a little out of the way, but the journey was worth it

We were with our children 3 and 1y. as well as eating at Holzwurm with a couple of friends. We were warmly welcomed and immediately felt very comfortable. At the table there was a warm welcome from family... on a plate and booster seats, pens and coasters were prepared for the children to color in. The ambience is very rustic and cozy, it invites you to linger. The service was top notch and the food was terrific. I ate my first Schäufele there and what can I say, it exceeded my expectations. The meat was buttery tender and the crust was as it should be. There was also plenty of the very tasty sauce. The dessert was also very tasty and all in all we had a very nice lunch and are already looking forward to the next time. PS: There is a mobile changing station, so just ask, the innkeepers are prepared for everything, at least that was my feeling. Keep it up, Merry Christmas and see you next year.

Wir waren heute zum Essen im Holzwurm. Unsere Hündin mitzubringen war auch drinnen gar kein Problem ❤️ Sogar ein Wassernapf steht dort für Hunde bereit. Super leckeres, frisch zubereitetes Essen zu fairen Preisen. Wir würden sehr gerne wiederkommen, aber die Anfahrt ist doch etwas weit aus Schleswig-Holstein 😁😁 👋

Erster Besuch nach der Wiedereröffnung am 02.02.2021 Gutes Essen und sehr freundliche Bedienungen. Ich hatte Bratwürste mit Sauerkraut sehr gut und auch meine beiden Mitesser haben ihr Essen gelobt. Wenn man den Standard hält ist das sicher mal wieder eine Alternative um in Röthenbach seine Abende zu verbringen und sich von sehr gutem Essen verwöhnen zu lassen . Liebe Grüße Alex

Auf der Durchreise durch die sehr guten Bewertungen auf das Lokal gestoßen. Essen super lecker und authentisch. Das Ambiente urig fränkisch, ein Ort an dem man sich super wohl fühlt! Zudem der Klasse und freundliche Service, selbst der Koch (Chef) kommt zu den Tischen und fragt nach dem Rechten. Sobald wir mal wieder in der Region sind, werden wir definitiv wieder den Holzwurm besuchen!

Durch Zufall sind wir auf das Restaurant gestoßen. Das Essen war sehr lecker und eine ausreichend große Portion. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder, wenn wir in der Nähe sind.

Uriges Gasthaus mit netter Bedienung. Gute Küche .Super kinderfreundlich, wir kommen beim nächsten Besuch gerne wieder.

Hervorzuheben ist das außerordentlich freundliche Personal. Man fühlt sich im Holzwurm einfach willkommen. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und die Portionen sind reichlich. Allerdings muss man schon ein paar Euro dafür da lassen. Der Garten ist nett, aber genau an der Straße und vor einer Maschinenhalle. Aber das ist der Örtlichkeit geschuldet. Man hat das beste draus gemacht.

Sehr sehr nette Besitzer, die sich auch mal Zeit für ein pläuschen nehmen. Essen wie bei der Oma!!! Kein großer Aufriss um Schickimicki fürs Auge, sondern um Qualität des Essens und den Geschmack!!! Beim Holzfellersteak war das Fleisch seeeehr Saftig und die Röstzwiebeln ein Gedicht!!! (Die habe ich so noch nirgends bekommen❗️❗️❗️) 1.
