Wir haben den Gasthof auf dem Rückweg vom Urlaub gefunden. Sehr zufrieden, 5 Minuten von der Autobahnabfahrt entfernt.

Mein Mann und ich waren sonntags Schäufele essen. Das Essen an sich war geschmacklich wirklich lecker, allerdings hatten wir beide danach eine Magen-Darm-Infektion. Es war das einzige Essen, das wir an diesem Tag gegessen hatten, und schon am Abend fühlte sich unser Magen sehr schwer und unangenehm an. Etwas merkwürdig fanden wir außerdem, dass das Essen bereits nach nicht einmal einer Minute auf dem Tisch stand. Natürlich kann Schäufele vorbereitet sein, dennoch kam uns die Geschwindigkeit etwas ungewöhnlich vor. Schade, denn geschmacklich hätte uns das Restaurant eigentlich sehr gut gefallen.

Wir waren auf der Rückreise von Nürnberg und haben den Vormittag noch zum Wandern in der Umgebung genutzt. Aufgrund der guten Bewertungen und da der Gasthof in der Nähe lag, haben wir dort noch vor der Rückfahrt gegessen. Das war bisher die beste fränkische Küche, die wir gegessen haben. Alles frisch und selber gekocht. Ich hatte vorher noch nie so eine leckere Rinderrolade gegessen.Sehr gute große Portionen. Sehr netter Familienbetrieb.

5/5 Essen: Köstlich, offensichtlich mit Liebe zubereitet, wirklich große Portionen. Alles ist etwas fettig, aber das ist in Ordnung. Die Speisekarte wechselt, was sowohl ein Pluspunkt als auch ein Minuspunkt ist. Service: Nette Bedienung, spricht gut Englisch, alles bestens. Atmosphäre: Wunderschön, Vogelgezwitscher. Mir hat es sehr gut gefallen.

Wir haben hier Mittagspause bei unserer Rückfahrt aus dem Urlaub gemacht. Hier gibt es richtig gutes Essen und ordentliche Portionen zu angemessenen Preisen. Das Personal war äußerst freundlich. Wir sind froh, diesen tollen Gasthof gefunden zu haben.

Schöner belebter Dorfgasthof. Wir sind von der Autobahn extf abgefahren und es hat sich gelohnt. Nette Bedienunc und deftige gute Gerichte. Wir hatten zu jedem Essen einen wirklich guten kleinen Salat. Schnitzel war am besten. Kotelett war paniert, das kam überraschend, war trotzdem gut. Leber war etwas zu durch und in zu viel Fett - kann auch von den Bratkartoffeln gewesen sein. Geschmacklich aber ok

Gasthof mais ist ein bürgerliches Lokal mit guten Essen das noch gut im Preis ist im Sommer ist ein großer Garten mit viel Schatten spendeten Bäumen gleich beim Eingang man kann dieses Lokal sehr empfehlen

Ein uriges fränkisches Wirtshaus. Die Speisekarte ist sehr vielseitig und bietet für jeden Geschmack etwas. Das Ganze wird durch ein ausgezeichnetes Bier (Simon Brauerei aus Lauf) abgerundet. Das Personal ist freundlich und um das Wohl der Gäste bemüht.

Das Essen ist gut, aber es gibt keine Pommes. Als Beilagen stehen nur Kartoffelsalat mit viel Essig, weiße Spätzle oder diese Art von deutschen Knödeln zur Auswahl, die beide eher geschmacklos sind. Das Lokal ist eng und überfüllt; man bekommt keine Quittungen, kann aber mit Kreditkarte bezahlen. Das Fleisch ist sehr zart und gut durchgebraten. Die Parkmöglichkeiten sind begrenzt: Es gibt ein paar Plätze vor dem Restaurant und einige weitere entlang einer schmalen, fast unbefestigten Straße.

Bisher sind wir immer nur beim Mais vorbei gefahren, doch jetzt wollten wir unbedingt mal testen: Netter Gasthof in gemütlichem Ambiente mit leckeren fränkischen Speisen. Die Frikadellen mit Champignonsauce und Brezenknödel waren ein Genuss. Die Sauce zum Schäufele war ein Traum 🤩 Die Bedienung war freundlich und sehr aufmerksam, auch war Zeit für ein kurzes Gespräch. Sogar Sauce wurde proaktiv nachgereicht. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Auf dem Heimweg ein Restaurant nahe der A3 gesucht, dieses hier gefunden. Freitag Mittag, 13:00 Uhr, das Gasthaus sehr gut besucht, Prompt einen Platz bekommen. Sehr nette, junge Bedienung, mit der wir später noch bisschen gequatscht haben. Essen, schnell, viel, gut bürgerlich, sehr gut! Leute, fahrt hier raus, ist auf dem Weg nach Ffm nur n kleiner Umweg, der sich aber lohnt. Vielen Dank, wir kommen bestimmt mal wieder…

Toller Biergarten mit Abendsonne und leckeres Essen plus gutes Simon Bier vom Fass - was will man mehr? 😉 Toll ist die große Wildkarte! Wir kommen immer wieder aus Schwaig mit dem Rad nach Renzenhof. Definitiv die beste Wirtschaft in der Umgebung. Das wissen natürlich auch die Städter, so dass man besser reserviert. Auch zu ungewöhnlichen Zeiten wie Samstag Nachmittag... ☝️

Abgefahren von der Autobahn und diesen tollen Gasthof gefunden. Sehr freundliches Personal, mega leckeres Essen, wir waren begeistert. Wenn wir das nächste Mal in dieser Gegend sind, kehren wir auf jeden Fall wieder ein.

It's difficult to get a table here without a reservation. The service was perfectly fine. They serve Veldensteiner beers. The food was just okay. The roulade was very carrot-y inside, and the cordon bleu was rather tasteless and had very little cheese. However, the portions were more than generous.

The staff were super friendly and the food was delicious. The Schäufele (pork shoulder) is highly recommended.

A cozy, charming country inn atmosphere, traditional Franconian cuisine, friendly and attentive service, separate room for celebrations and reservations, parking in front of the restaurant. Outdoor seating is available in good weather (the only drawback is that the outdoor area is located on a main road).

Because of the good reviews here, we stopped at this restaurant on both our outbound and return journeys to Switzerland. It was truly delicious, and the little detour was definitely worth it.

Super delicious and highly recommended! We were passing through and discovered the inn by chance on Google Maps. The good reviews piqued our interest, so we turned off the highway. It takes about 8-10 minutes from the highway to the inn. The inn is located in the middle of a small village. The service and ambiance are fantastic. The food is also truly excellent and delicious! We had three different dishes, all of which were delicious, and the portions were really generous. A definite recommendation for anyone who's nearby or passing through; this little detour is worth it.

A beautiful place, the staff was charming, especially Klaus, who was very attentive at all times. The food was exceptional in both quality and quantity. A place to stay, to entertain, and above all, to enjoy. We came with our dog and had no problems at all.

We were on our way back from vacation and stopped at the Gasthof Mais because of the many positive Google reviews – absolutely the right decision! Only 9 minutes from the A3 motorway, yet surrounded by nature. We had roast pork, hunter's roast, and roulade with dumplings – all delicious and homemade. The beautiful outdoor area under large, shady trees is especially inviting. The service was very friendly, card payments are accepted, and they serve hot meals all day – perfect for travelers like us. Highly recommended, we'd love to come back!

Excellent roast venison, exquisite dessert – rhubarb panna cotta. In addition to hearty Franconian home cooking, we always enjoy something from the exquisite daily menu.

We spontaneously stopped by this inn while passing through. We received a friendly welcome, and despite the full house, we were happily seated. There were two of us, and we ordered roast pork and schnitzel from the daily menu. Words cannot describe how well both dishes were prepared. The roast was so tender it melted in your mouth. The schnitzel was prepared exactly as you would imagine and was also super tender. The portions are generous, and you'll definitely be satisfied. The entire courtyard is classically furnished without appearing dated. The only drawback is the parking situation on site, but that certainly doesn't justify a point deduction.

On the way home from our long journey, we wanted to escape the traffic jam on the highway – so we pulled out and spontaneously searched for a well-reviewed inn serving hot meals all day. That's how we ended up at Gasthof Mais – and we haven't regretted it for a second! We received a warm welcome, the service was attentive and friendly, and the Franconian food was simply top-notch – homemade, delicious, and plentiful. Just what we needed after many hours in the car. A real insider tip if you're in the area or need a break from the traffic. We definitely recommend the restaurant; it's good, and it wasn't expensive at all...

Very delicious home food, big portions, highly recommended. No a/c, so it was a bit hot inside and outside. We visited on sunday, it was full of people, almost all tables are busy, parking is busy, we found only 2 tables available, so we were very happy to try local delicious food. No playground for kids.

I recommend this restaurant on your way back from southern Europe. It's definitely worth the detour from the highway and the extra 10 minutes to get there. Very good food, fresh meat. Friendly service, and really reasonable prices... ahh. And although I'm not a beer drinker, the beer was just as good as the schnitzel 😊

Nice selection of good home-style dishes, there is something for every taste. Decent portions, fresh and super tasty. Starting with the fine salad as a starter, through to the delicious crusty roast, which was so tender that the meat only had to be divided and not cut. The fine crust was an absolute poem and a great taste in terms of taste. The crowning glory was warm chocolate cake with banana ice cream and berries, a dream. All of this without any chichi. We should also mention the tasty non-alcoholic wheat beer and pilsner. We really enjoyed this refreshing down-to-earth attitude and will definitely come back. Thank you and see you soon.
