Restaurant Zum Heideblick in Bad Frankenhausen/Kyffhäuser

Very cozy and cool bar..only the street noise is disturbing

We ordered dinner for a celebration. The buffet was delicious and plentiful. Our interaction with Ms. Wallroth was very warm and incredibly friendly.

We stopped in spontaneously and were lucky enough to get a table. The food was quick, fresh, and simply sooooo delicious. The service was friendly, and there were also friendly faces in the kitchen. Absolutely top-notch value for money. The recommended Moselle wine was also really great. Thank you very much and many more lovely guests. Unfortunately, our vacation is over.

We were in Bad Frankenhausen at the beginning of November for a short break to visit the Barbarossa Cave and the Kyffhäuser Monument. There aren't really many restaurants here, and most of them are closed in the off-season. So we looked online and stumbled across the HDW, gave them a quick call, and they got us a table. Parking is a bit tricky, but if necessary, I would have parked in the supermarket parking lot next door. We went in; it's very unassuming from the outside, and we were warmly welcomed and shown to our tables. My wife ordered a Lillet Spritz, and I had a large pilsner. For starters, we both had Würzfleisch (a type of stew) – it was absolutely delicious, and we didn't even know about the generous portions yet! 🙈 For the main course, we had three different pasta dishes with three different sauces, all topped with cheese 😋, and two "Harzer" schnitzels, topped with pickles, bacon, and Harz cheese 🤤 – amazing!!! ... As a final touch, along with the bill, they brought a complimentary Amaretto with cream 🫣 A perfect end to our day! I'd definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again. It's wonderful that places like this still exist – relaxed yet proper. Absolutely top-notch! I don't remember the exact price, but the pasta dishes were around €10 and the schnitzel variations were €17.90.

The food was very good and plentiful. The asparagus dish was delicious. The service was friendly and prompt, just as it should be.
