A cozy atmosphere, friendly service, no long waiting times, yet the food is of good quality. My favorite is the coleslaw. I'm also very satisfied with the service, food, and atmosphere under the new owner.

After learning that the Engel now offers lunch, we immediately took advantage of the offer. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the service from the two new owners was extremely friendly. Since lunch is gradually becoming a unique selling point, we will certainly make use of it more often in the future.

We visited here for the first time today on the recommendation of our friends. We were absolutely delighted with the restaurant, the new owners, and, above all, the super delicious food! If you want truly, truly good Greek food, this is the place for you! The taste was amazing, a taste of home again today, and the service was absolutely attentive. Apparently, people go to "Zum Engel" because they can eat cheaply there. That was my first and last visit here! The restaurant reminded me of a run-down, tastelessly decorated train station in a remote Greek village. Greek train stations are nicer than this. The food was tasteless, mediocre at best, and visually unappealing. What's served here has nothing to do with Greek cuisine! Offering tasteless food isn't Greek. The meat was inedible and tough; only the lamb was good. * Salad: not good, sauce: no! Fries were good, but salt-free. * Greek pasta: overcooked and tasteless. * Wines: not good, but that's often a matter of taste. * Starter: good, but served without bread because they ran out. * Service: very rude, inattentive, and constantly on the phone with friends. * Chef: was busy with relatives. * Ambience: 0 points. * Music: 0 points. My criticism will sound harsh to many, but it always depends on why you're going out to eat. If the focus is solely on value for money, the Engel in Kriftel is obviously the best choice! But if I want good quality, delicious wines, or a pleasant atmosphere, I have to avoid the Engel in Kriftel. They don't even meet the minimum standards. You can't offer quality with main courses for €13. That's simply not possible!

We went to the Restaurant Zum Engel for a family dinner with nine people, and I was pleasantly surprised! I've known the restaurant for a while and had eaten there many years ago, but I wasn't impressed by the ambiance or the quality of the food. Things are completely different today. The restaurant has undergone a positive transformation (probably due to a new owner or a generational change). The ambiance now seems much friendlier and more inviting. The food was truly delicious, and special requests were also accommodated. The only thing we could have done with a larger portion size for some of the dishes we ordered. However, everyone was still satisfied with dessert. The service was friendly, very attentive, and quick. Overall, we had a lovely evening here.

It's slowly becoming pathetic. The menu is completely tattered. It's starting to seem like little or no investment is being made. The owner is trying hard, but he's overly loud when greeting and saying goodbye. The food is OK, just like you'd expect from a typical Greek restaurant. I've been going there every now and then for 10 years, but it's slowly becoming less of my choice.

We had eaten here several times before the pandemic and were always very satisfied. However, our last visit was disappointing. The mixed appetizer platter was no longer on the menu. No large mixed platter for several people. The food we ordered was okay. The menu listed a children's plate with gyros and fries, which we ordered. We were served the large plate, which was naturally more expensive, and they charged an extra 30 cents for ketchup. My grandchild ordered vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce. It arrived as an unappetizing mess on a plate—completely melted on the outside and the ice cream rock hard and crystallized inside. We sent it back, but it was still on the bill. The waitress seemed completely indifferent. The owner tried to compensate with friendliness, but honestly, couldn't they have offered the child an alternative, or at least a lollipop or something similar? The adults were offered ouzo, which we declined. The whole experience was such that we won't be returning. What a shame!

Good bye, So the food is great and the portions feel perfect! The service was very friendly and a great atmosphere. I can only recommend it to anyone who wants to eat well with mega prices at these times. ☺️ Thank you again and again for the good food.

Restaurant ok and cozy in my opinion. Service was ok. We had 10 main courses, 3 of which were ok (good) all the other dishes were cold and tasteless, very little Greek (I remember it differently from before. Prices were ok. But very disappointed because probably my last visit

Went to the Engel restaurant for my brother's 70th birthday. Unfortunately, half the family was very disappointed. The food was really on the edge terrible. Three of us had the gyros bifteki plate (me too) and it was - except for the fries - terrible. As a Greek, I wouldn't serve something like that to my guests as Greek food. Both the bifteki and the gyros were probably frozen and/or very poorly prepared. Both were “fried” absolutely dry. The discounters Aldi and Lidl have TK Gyros, the same thing looks good (cut up very small) in the microwave but doesn't get as dry. The Bifteki wasn't any better. There’s no need to say a word about the “side salad”. Very unfortunate and almost embarrassing for the guests. The ambience is quite nice and the owner is very nice, but that doesn't help if you want to ruin a family celebration. Nowadays all restaurateurs are complaining and many restaurants and pubs are fighting for survival. The angel was still full to capacity with boomers on this Tuesday evening, which is very surprising... What a shame!

The furnishings are functional, but not particularly inviting. The landlord is very warm and my special requests were answered with a smile. The food is good. But not outstanding now. I think we'll come back again.

Chic restaurant in the center of Kriftel. There are Greek specialties here. The food is very tasty and the staff is really friendly. The long-time operator does a great job and you feel very comfortable there. A real insider tip.

Ordentliche Portionen und es schmeckt.

Wir waren mit einer kleinen Gruppe dort. Das Essen war gut und das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis in Ordnung. Die Dame die uns bedient hatte dürfte ihren Gästen gerne mal ein Lächeln schenken. Man hatte etwas das Gefühl das sie schlechte Laune hatte. Den Tisch fand ich für 5 Personen, geschweige denn 6 Personen, etwas zu klein. Die Person an der Stirnseite des Tisches kommt sich etwas fehl am Platz vor.

..ein Ort an dem ich mich wohlfühle, weil eine solche Willkommenskultur herrscht. Das Essen ist lecker, vielseitig und reichlich. Neben Bier vom Fass gibt's ne gute Auswahl an Weinen. Immer wieder gerne :-)

Mein erster und letzter Besuch hier! Ich fühlte mich wie in einer heruntergekommenen Bahnhofs Halle, in einem abgelegenen griechischen Dorf. Geschmacklos und Mittelmaß! Verstreut im Raum saßen einige verlorene Herzen, keine Musik, NULL Ambiente und der Chef war mit der Verwandtschaft beschäftigt. Wobei die Bahnhofshallen in Griechenland sehr schön sind! Auch das angebotene ist optisch und geschmacklich höchstens Mittelmaß! Ihr seid doch Griechen! Das was ihr serviert hat doch mit der griechischen Küche nichts zu tun. Geschmacklose Speisen anzubieten ist doch nicht griechisch! Fleisch: geschmacklos(außer Lamm). Salat: schrecklich, sah aus wie... Salatsoße: ohne Worte. Pommes: salzfrei Griechische Nudeln: verkocht und geschmacklos!!!! Weine:unterste Schublade. Vorspeise: gut aber wird ohne Brot serviert, da Ihnen Brot ausging. Bedienung: frech und hängt dauernd am Telefon. Chef: beschäftigt mit Verwandten. Ambiente: 0⃣ Punkte. Für viele wird mein Kritik sehr hart klingen! Aber es kommt immer darauf an, warum man in ein Restaurant geht. Wenn der Fokus nur auf Preis- Leistungsverhältnis gerichtet ist, so ist der Engel in Kriftel natürlich das höchste. Wenn ich aber gute Qualität, leckere Weine oder schöne Ambiente möchte, so muss man den Engel vermeiden. Sie erfüllen nicht einmal den Mindestmaß. Mit 13€ Speisen kann ich keine Qualität anbieten. Geht nicht!

Sehr zu Frieden und zu vorkommen

Freundlicher Empfang durch den Chef. Nette Atmosphäre. Die Speisekarte bietet für jeden Geschmack etwas an. Sowohl für den kleinen wie auch für den großen Hunger. Gute Portionen zu vernünftigen Preisen. Das Essen ist lecker.

Einfach gesagt, immer gut, essen immer lecker, immer freundlich. Das Preis/ Leistung Verhältnis stimmt. Dort fühle ich mich zu jeder Zeit herzlich willkommen.

Im Engel bei Janni ist es seit vielen Jahren immer gut. Super Essen mit einigen Besonderheiten wie Gyros mit metaxa Sauce. Sympathische Atmosphäre. Eine Institution in Kriftel.

Ist nicht die typische griechische Küche. Meine Begeisterung hielt sich in Grenzen. War nur Tourist.

Schmeckt sehr gut dort! Ab und zu kann man sich das sehr wohl gönnen. Essen war sehr Heiss als es ankam. Also ganz Frisch. Schnitzel von der Pute war sehr dünn. Genau richtig! Vor Ort schmeckt es aber nochmal besser, als bestellt/geliefert. Lohnt sich also dort vorbei zu schauen.

Ich vereinbarte mit dem Wirt einen separaten Raum für etwa 20 Personen ab 18:00 Uhr für etwa zwei Stunden. Vorher teilte ich dem Wirt mit das während der Zusammenkunft keine Speisen bestellt werden sollten. Mancher Teilnehmer hat aber bereits vor bzw. nach dem Treffen sich ein Essen beim Wirt bestellt. Nachdem ich meine Rechnung verlangte, legte mir der Wirt ohne Ankündigung eine weitere Rechnung von 50€ für die Nutzung des Raumes vor, was nicht vereinbart war.

Tolles griechisches Restaurant. Essen oberlecker, Wirtsehepaar extrem freundliches. Ist immer wieder toll dorthin zu gehen. Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist rischdisch gut.

Es war ein sehr schöner Abend, das Essen war super lecker, alles frisch vorbereitet. Die Vorspeise Platte hatte alles was man mag: Gemüse, Käse, Gyros, Oliven, Peperoni... Die Lammkoteletts waren „der Hammer“. Der nächste Termin steht schon fest 😀

Wir haben Glück gehabt einen Tisch zu bekommen, es war gut besucht und dennoch war der Service flott und die Speisen kamen recht fix. Es hat alles gut geschmeckt. Die Atmosphäre ist ein bisschen wie in einem Pub. Es ist kein ‚klassischer Grieche‘. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
