Good food, friendly service, and a good location. The outdoor chairs are very uncomfortable.

We ate at the Westernacher restaurant today for Mother's Day and were absolutely thrilled. The food was delicious, the location right on the lake was stunning – but what made the visit special was the excellent service. Our waiter, Jonny, was incredibly friendly, attentive, and warm. He served us with genuine joy and made the day even more special. Thank you for the wonderful service – we'll be back!

Unfortunately, the food was cold, too salty, and the side dishes were way too expensive. Never again (tourist rip-off). My recommendation: please move on!

Unfortunately, we were not welcome at the Schlosswirtschaft Herrenchiemsee restaurant for lunch on the island. So we decided to eat somewhere else, and we haven't regretted it for a second. The food was excellent and the service was top notch.

Many thanks to our waiter Johnny for the extremely friendly and attentive service - always with a smile on his face and perfect timing with every course. All around first class!

The three of us ate at Westernacher today. Roast veal and pizza were our choices. The roast veal had two pieces on the plate, the second piece of which tasted rancid and was reported to the waiter. He took the plate with him and came back with the answer that it was fresh and, in his opinion, good. Hmm, that almost happened to my companion... but it was supposed to have been ok, worrying. The pizzas were ok but for the price, which is a bit high, it's just ok. All in all, it's just a tourist shack where you don't care too much about the guests coming more often, you'll be broke before then. I've eaten better in village restaurants outside of Prien and, above all, cheaper.

Beautiful restaurant in a prime location and with a direct view of Lake Chiemsee and the Alps. We were warmly welcomed by the waiter Jonny, who recommended the highlight of the day to us. Both of us (my wife and I) enjoyed it very much and we would recommend this restaurant at any time. We ate here twice today (Kaiserschmarrn for lunch and Käsespätzle and the highlight of the day for dinner).

First of all: I am a restaurateur myself and I put my heart and soul into it. Also know that mistakes can happen and when what is worth how much. The following definitely applies here: The location is beautiful and in my opinion this is exploited with a lot of convenience and low quality economy! Rosin would definitely throw up her hands in this kitchen! the following: Today we had dinner as a family of 5 in Westernach. We were actually suspicious about the far too overloaded menu, which, due to its chaotic layout and images, was more reminiscent of a Chinese restaurant than of a good Bavarian restaurant. The first burner was the sequence of meals: I ordered fish soup and then suckling pig. The children's cheese spaetzle, gnocchi with cheese sauce and cordon bleu, my wife's salad with breaded chicken on top. The fish soup came quickly and after one spoonful the waiter prepared the roast for me. Then after a few more spoonfuls of soup, the roast was taken away again and placed under the heat lamp until I was finished with the soup. Then I ate the roast under the big eyes of the rest of the family, who meanwhile made do with the hollow tooth... when I was finished with everyone, it took another 10 minutes until the rest of the family got their dishes. I then got another roast on the house because I seemed sour. Well... so 4 dumplings in total. Thank God they weren't too big. Now to the dishes and their "quality": I ordered fish soup "Westernacher Style", according to the menu with 3 types of fish from Lake Chiemsee, which wasn't the case. There was a shrimp (!) in it, a few pieces of cod and another unknown to me. The soup was definitely based on fish stock from a jar with ready-made julienne from a plastic bag. There was no trace of the advertised saffron or salt and the broth was grayish, (saffron?) crumbly and unclear. That cost just under 15 euros. - A sheer mockery for that. My wife had a salad with breadcrumbs Chicken, that was obviously convenience from Sprehe. The dressings were really mostly inedible. Sour, old and the best thing was a pot of the cheapest kind of ready-made sauce with the taste of 50% mayo and a lot of thickener. It sits nicely around the tongue. Cordon Bleu with ready-made breading looks like it came out of the deep fryer, with a definitely not homemade potato salad sprinkled with unpeeled, grated cucumber leaves. Allgäu cheese spaetzle with a gritty cheese sauce that tasted completely like dry Gouda crust and Gorgonzola, interestingly quite similar to that of the gnocchi with cheese sauce... Suckling pig was okay but not great, the crust on top came out of the deep fryer but at least it was crispy. - But the taste is okay. - According to the menu, it also comes from the butcher and not from the hands of, um... probably not the happiest chef in the whole of Chiemgau. But the service was really quick and fine. It seemed as if it wasn't the first time he had heard that the food was terrible. The whole thing cost a whopping 150 euros with 1 drink each (beer, table water, soda). For the economy/convenience quality offered, it's a complete disgrace. Basically just a tourist rip off. Again: The location is beautiful and they take advantage of it. Very bad value for money! Completely unfortunate! Years ago we had breakfast there, it was very nice, but today... it was really unreasonable!

The location of the restaurant on the Chiemsee shore is of course unbeatable and everything is very nicely decorated. The prices are more touristy, a bit higher, but we all enjoyed it quite well, especially the pizzas were very tasty. Every now and then you have to wait a long time for service, but it was also pretty full & the season is just really starting ;)

Delicious food with breathtaking views and great service at tourist prices. If the weather is nice, you can also sit here for a few hours. However, you should be clear about the costs for this location beforehand. I'd love to come back.

The food was delicious, but... I had fish from the weekly menu... and had to pay the 11 euro price on the menu. When I complained, he simply said that the price was wrong. No apology or anything like that 😞

The apple strudel was great (for being homemade)

I was in the restaurant 2 days ago and since I heard that it was so good there, I was very happy. My meal, a salad plate, was ordinary. Unfortunately, the pre-prepared salads were also too salty. Since we arrived, service always took a long time to arrive, even though there was hardly anything going on. I then wanted to take half the salad home with me. I've never experienced in a restaurant that you had to fill your food into the take away pack yourself at the mini table. It's a shame, the location of the restaurant is wonderful, but unfortunately it wasn't really comfortable.

We were in the Westernacher restaurant. OK, you kind of pay for the location. Food wise it was good. But not sophisticated or extraordinary. When I asked if I could pack the rest of my food, the waitress brought a box to my table. So I was somehow allowed to put my own food in the box at the small table. Sounds strange though. But I had never experienced that as a guest I had to do this myself. Felt kind of weird. After all, it's not a kebab shop. The waitress wasn't really attentive, let alone made me feel like I was being noticed as a guest.

The Westernacher Restaurant Café in Prien am Chiemsee is a popular meeting place for me with family, friends and colleagues. The location directly on the lake promenade offers a breathtaking view of Lake Chiemsee and the mountains. I particularly appreciate the wood-fired pizza and the fish specialties, which are always fresh and delicious. The beer garden under old chestnut trees invites you to linger while enjoying a cool wheat beer. The friendly service ensures we always feel welcome. A place that I would happily recommend.

The food was good, the price perhaps a bit high, but given the location, you have to accept that. The service, however, was not very friendly. The waiter seemed arrogant. He was also rather unsympathetic at the next table, leaving the table with a sigh and a shake of his head because we hadn't yet decided what to order.

The waiter, Jonny, is a cool guy! He enjoys his work and has a talent for instantly building rapport with his guests. I'd be happy to come back anytime!

Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it! Some of the food was cold and mixed together. With three people, they couldn't manage to serve the appetizer before the pizza, and about 15 minutes later, after the pizza had already been eaten, the appetizer and a cold main course arrived. Very unfriendly after being informed. There was only one drink per person. Unfortunately, the staff was understaffed and the atmosphere was very uncoordinated. The only positive thing is that the dishes tasted good even after they were hot.

Jonny gave us great service There were six of us there. Everyone ate and drank really deliciously. As a highlight he recommended the alcohol-free Augustiner to me. This is absolutely perfect, we would love to come back

It was a nice atmosphere, the staff wasn't intrusive and was very accommodating. The only thing that bothered us was the construction site in front of the restaurant. The four of us spontaneously went to this restaurant today on Valentine's Day. We didn't have any great expectations, we just wanted to eat a little something. But then we found a promising menu for Valentine's Day on the menu. It consisted of four courses so we decided to have it, three with venison as a main course and once with salmon. What happened next was one of the most surprising restaurant experiences in a long time. Every course was simply perfect: visually beautifully staged and taste in the absolute top class. I can hardly remember ever eating more tender and better game meat. The salmon was also said to be great. The menu cost €55 per person and we all agreed at the end that it was incredibly good value for the quality on offer. Our waitress, Jonny, was also really good: friendly and attentive.

We had dinner here with the in-laws and the children. The service was exceptionally good. The waiter was super friendly, courteous and considerate. He was also great with the kids. The service wasn't too stiff, but not intrusively casual either - just right. The food was also very good. The location by the lake is beautiful and the surrounding area is perfect for taking a walk. An all-round successful visit and certainly not the last!

A restaurant set up in a typical way for tourists, which promises daily specials on displayed boards, but unfortunately in the end offers very below-average food. We were disappointed at how poorly a Kaiserschmarrn can be made. Arrived mostly burnt (smelly!) and what was edible was disappointing, so we declined the new portion that was fairly offered. In any other restaurant, this Kaiserschmarrn would never have left the kitchen - and anyone who expects a good Kaiserschmarrn here, in the heart of Bavaria, will definitely be disappointed.

Food was ok. Waiter probably didn't feel like it. Didn't come to the table to order a drink. The waffles we ordered were served at the next table.

Cozy beer garden with very friendly, attentive waiters. The menu does not correspond to a standard beer garden but also has some special dishes (asparagus menu, risotto,...). The drinks were brought immediately You didn't have to wait long for the food either. Everyone enjoyed it very much, including dessert. We would love to come back here.

Wir verbrachten mehrere Abende in diesem Lokal, die Qualität war sehr gut, das Lokal und der Kellner „Marco“ ist sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und nett. Hatte immer einen coolen Spruch auf Lager. Wir kommen gern noch einmal wieder.

Great house with a super delicious restaurant!

Everything perfect. The breakfast was amazing, the beds and rooms relatively small but for the price amazing! Clean and well kept, will definitely be returning!

We had lunch here with the family on Sunday and were served by a nice gentleman. We had the suckling pig (a bit dry and not crispy), good chestnut soups, mediocre schnitzel. Great waffles for dessert. Our son was allowed to help with the baking and didn't get any strawberries, instead there was ice cream with hot berries.

The pizza is highly recommended and the lady at the bar was very friendly. You can have a conversation. Gladly again!

Annoyed staff, mediocre quality

The four of us got a nice place in the sun and on the promenade. The prices are mixed. A half-pink costs a reasonable 5.40, but 0.2 liters of soft drink costs 3.50. Fries for 5.90 are still ok, but the sausage salad for 14.50 is clearly too expensive. All in all, the hard-working but overwhelmed staff also makes a weak impression. Unfortunately, this coupled with the steep prices only results in 3 out of 5 stars for me. If you can overlook it, you'll have a really lovely place to sit on the banks of the Chiemsee.

I only give it 1 star because I can't give it "none". The food was a complete disappointment. The meat had no taste, instead of fried potatoes it was just boiled potatoes, pizza was still doughy in the middle. The waiter - rude. Way too expensive.

Service friendly, fast and attentive, food tasty and plentiful! Ambience not so pleasant, therefore only three stars. The loud, loud tantrum and crying of a small child that lasted for several minutes (the parents are of course from the "education is overrated!" faction, so the seizure went completely unmoderated..) really affected the atmosphere during the meal, but of course the restaurant can't do anything about it. If necessary, a brief intervention by the staff would have been in the interest of all the other guests, who, visibly annoyed, left the restaurant quite quickly after their meal.

I was there in the summer. The prices are exorbitant, the food is soaked in fat, inedible, I had to wait an additional 45 minutes for my food because of the crowd, the waitress reminds me that I give him a tip. Plus, everyone looks stressed.

Hut ab, dass der Wirt trotz der Superlage auf Qualität und guten Service achtet, oft verleitet ein solch gut besuchter Platz zu Nachlässigkeit. Davon kann hier keine Rede sein, die Speisekarte kann dazu durchgängig bestellt werden mit durchweg erfreulichen Angeboten, die Herren vom Service verdienen ein besonderes Lob.

Otřesný zážitek! Jídlo předražené obsluha absolutně neodpovídající, nepříjemná a neochotná! Pizzu mam dali nenakrájenou a po nasi prosbě o nakrájení sme se nedočkali, pivo přinesli až po připomenutí. Jídlo také chuťově ceně neodpovídá! Nedoporučuji návštěvu ani tady nechat jakýkoliv peníz!!
