I highly recommend this place because they serve excellent steckalfisch (fish) and the best potato salad. I always go there with my family for dinner. Everyone is very friendly, and the fish is caught from Lake Chiemsee.

A pretzel fresh from the oven. The fish fresh from the grill. The potato salad is divine. I've rarely eaten so much. Thank you for this taste experience. While eating, enjoy the view of the beautiful lake and the surrounding landscape.

They even bring the superb fish on a stick to your table. A real highlight on the Chiemsee tour. The lake is almost within sight. If it were on the shore, you'd probably have to make a reservation ;-)

Delicious grilled fish almost by the lake

Wow, I saw the food and ate it all right away. You can only see the leftover fish, a pretzel, potato salad, and two beers, €25 worth. They also have a children's playground, unfortunately under the sun, otherwise the atmosphere would be 5 stars! Restrooms, too, are quiet and cozy.

Best skewered fish you'll ever get! Unfortunately, I have to deduct a point for the food, as I've been there several times and didn't get fresh bread with the fish. At that price, for the fish, I also expect fresh bread to go with it, not something that's several days old.

Unfortunately, the service is very poor. Rudeness when ordering. After waiting for 45 minutes, we were told that our food had been ready for a long time. This came across more as an accusation. The dishes were tasty, but the service and treatment left a strong negative aftertaste! We wouldn't eat here again.

The fish is truly delicious. But they make a guest sit separately if they don't have a regional accent. Service is almost nonexistent, as other guests have also had to wait over an hour. Only when you ask do you get a reply: "You should have..." A shame, because that makes you forget about the beautiful fish!

A very nice fisherman's hut on the shores of Lake Chiemsee. Unfortunately, there is one criticism. It's almost impossible to get a seat because... the tables are constantly marked with some kind of written reference to Zewa (a German restaurant). Disappointing for walkers or hikers. The motto should be first come, first served... A shame, and disappointing for us as vacationers.

A truly rustic place near the lake. The grilled fish (I think trout) served skewered was truly spectacular. I don't know how it's seasoned, but it has a unique flavor. The only small complaint is that the fish is slightly overpriced since there's no service, but it was really good.

I would have also liked to try the fish in beer batter, but unfortunately, this is another place that only accepts cash. Two people average around €30-40 here. The sausage salad was small but good. The fish patties were frozen. Thick breading, mushy inside, barely any fish flavor. Every euro was too much. They wouldn't offer anything better. We wouldn't stop here again.

We ate fish on a stick here and were very satisfied. The owners are very friendly and well-organized. The fish on a stick is freshly prepared and tastes excellent. We'd be happy to come back.

There's a small selection, but there's something for everyone. The grilled fish and Swiss sausage salad were delicious. Plenty of seating, both outdoors and indoors, is available. After or during a bike ride, it's a lovely place to relax and take a breather. Since we were there by bike, I can't comment on the parking situation.

Cozy fish shack with a beer garden on the shores of Lake Chiemsee. Freshly caught, smoked fish on a stick daily, along with other delicacies such as fish rolls, baked fish, and snack boards. A very friendly, charming family business.

It's truly a disgrace to build a barrier made of a bench and a barrel at high water levels on the lake, so that everyone who wants to pass has to go through the water. No comment on the food or the atmosphere, but the owner and staff were truly rude. Their reason for not lifting a bike over the barrier was because she had already told three other people to do it. A disgrace!

The Reiter fish hut is located close to nature on the Chiemsee shore cycle path, just outside the built-up area of the municipality of Prien. We visited in July 2025. The menu is varied; there should be something for everyone. We had the specialty, which is the Steckerlfisch (snake fish). The fish is marinated in a rich mixture of salt, spices, and oil and cooked over charcoal. The skin becomes crispy and very flavorful, while the meat always remains juicy and not dry. It's eaten from a piece of paper, very traditional. I really liked this simple presentation and preparation. Of course, this meal calls for a drink. If you're looking for Tibetan orchid rice with blue-billed duck breast with Pacific underwater salad, you've come to the wrong place. I definitely recommend this place; we'll be back.

Relaxed atmosphere. Beer benches, fish dishes straight from the grill for 10-15 euros. There's hardly a place this good and this affordable. Self-service is otherwise top-notch!

The fish hut has the best grilled fish on Lake Chiemsee, grilled over charcoal. It smells fantastic, tastes fantastic. You pay at the counter, give your table number, and the fish is brought. The pretzels are unusually fluffy, but they go well with it.

Incredibly delicious grilled fish! The best I've ever tasted. The potato salad was also delicious. Right next door is a large playground. Plenty of shaded spots are available. The only downside is that you can't pay by card.

For 24 years, our path has led us to the Reiter fisherman's hut, because this is the only place where you could recommend and enjoy skewered fish in this style. Time and again, our path has led us there. A week ago, we actually stopped by on our way back from Carinthia to eat this kind of fish. We were abruptly disappointed. It started with warm drinks in an outside temperature of 28 degrees. We had beer and a rhubarb spritzer. And then the fish arrived... heavily overseasoned with a spice mix that was still palatable hours later and would have been more suited to a chicken. The skin wasn't crispy, and the fish completely lost its flavor. We knew it as lightly browned skin brushed with butter, which made it crispy and edible. There were no burnt spots either. An idyllic spot on earth has expanded and adapted to more guests, which means the quality, ambiance, and friendliness are all falling by the wayside. And by the way, they should also expand the restroom facilities and get them under control, and think about cleanliness and the toilet paper and towels. It was only 1:00 p.m. when we were there. What a shame.

Well, I ate a fish on a stick. It was quite dark on the outside and oversalted. No seasoning on the inside. A slice of bread with it, 7mm thick. 2 drinks and 2 fish for €39.20. Self-service. No one even cleans the tables. The soap dispenser in the men's restroom was empty. But it wasn't overly busy, so you could check there.

Beautiful ambiance, right on the lake. Unfortunately, the music was way too loud, making it so uncomfortable that we had to flee the beer garden. Too bad, we wanted to eat fish on a stick. Apparently, it wasn't that good.

The fish and pretzels were simply legendary, very delicious! Depending on the position of the sun, not every table is suitable for sitting, and changing tables is met with a slight annoyance because it's on the docket.

The first visit a few weeks ago was okay. The fried fish was good, and the fish on a stick was also okay. The last visit, on Father's Day 2025, was rather disappointing. The fish on a stick was mediocre at best. The inside was very watery in places and not fully cooked. The Bismarck roll was simply a joke. A ciabatta roll, soggy on the bottom with a small piece of Bismarck herring. Garnished with a few red onions. Unfortunately, the overall price is far too high for the quality.

A highlight on our bike tour around Lake Chiemsee. The Steckersla fish is incredibly delicious. Juicy grilled with an incredibly delicious crust. If you like fish, you should stop here. The staff is also very friendly.

The Fischerhütte is in a great location and is worth it if you want to eat a little something in a cozy atmosphere.

This rustic fish hut, designed with love, is a clear recommendation. We have reserved a table in the hut for Good Friday. We fell in love, super tasty fish from the charcoal grill, super nice and friendly service and definitely great to sit outside in the summer. A few parking spaces are about 200m away

Sensational start to the season with a very good plug fish on Lake Chiemsee. There is fish hot and cold, side dishes and other snacks in the beer garden and hut. The only negative thing is the long waiting time when ordering. Arrive by bike or simply on foot. Parking a little further away. Open again from May, check out the website. Highly recommended

We have been traveling to Chiemgau for many years! We always decided to eat male fish, but unfortunately we never did it! It wasn't until 2023 that we finally stopped here for the first time on a trip around Chiemsee and never looked back! On the contrary: This has been an absolute “must have” since 2023!!! A culinary delight of pure excellence! The fish is grilled to perfection and the seasoning - a dream! If you like fish, you should definitely go here! Always well attended and the staff are very friendly. Thanks!

Excellent male fish. The other dishes were also very good. Sometimes you have to wait in line for a long time, which has little to do with a pleasant stay if one of the group is always standing in line. You sit on simple beer tables without any documents. A few tables have shade, most are in the sun. Theoretically is the price i. O. But if you consider that you have to stand in line and bring your food/drinks to the table, the price isn't that good anymore. And then you see the person in front of you giving a tip when you pay... to get it yourself.
