The Waldhäuschen, with its incredibly friendly owner, Danilo, is so cute, small, and cozy that we called on a Thursday and only got a table for four people plus a dog on Monday. And the wait was definitely worth it! Delicious all around, warm service, and great prices. A big recommendation goes out to you, dear Danilo, because being different is always good 🫶😉.

Karlshagen is relatively uncrowded in terms of restaurants – but thanks to the "Waldhäuschen," that doesn't really matter. This restaurant is definitely the number 1 in town and will definitely never lose its top position again. Everything is just right here: the ambiance, the service, and of course, the incredibly delicious food. Everything is prepared with love and very quickly – thankfully without any unnecessary frills and fuss, but with absolutely top-notch craftsmanship! And if you don't mind generous portions, this is the place for you. But please make a reservation in advance, as spontaneous visits aren't always possible due to the overwhelming number of guests. So definitely go and enjoy! I'm already looking forward to my next vacation in Karlshagen – and the "Waldhäuschen" has a big part in that!

A real insider tip. This was our second time there. We're from Berlin, otherwise we'd come every week. The food is fresh and delicious. Great value for money. The owner is very friendly. He was able to sneak us in spontaneously.

A reservation was no longer possible due to the table booking for the same day, so we were squeezed in with a bit of a wait. The wait was worth it! The owner made up for it all with a lighthearted joke. The food was truly fresh, delicious, and very generously portioned, and very reasonably priced. The amount of food had to be washed down with a quick shot. The fish gin was twice as strong, but it did what it was supposed to. We'll definitely be back!

We wanted to eat here today because of the good reviews. It was very crowded, and there were reservation signs on the tables everywhere. We waited for a table to become available. The only waiter walked past us several times and ignored us. When a table at the very back became available, we sat down. There was no visible reservation sign on the table. The waiter continued to ignore us. After we had sat and waited for a good 20 minutes, my husband politely asked if we could be served. The waiter then loudly snapped at my husband in front of the other guests that the table was reserved and that was why we wouldn't be served. The waiter saw us sitting at the table for 20 minutes and didn't think it necessary to politely point out that the table was reserved. Instead, he thought it was only right to make the customer feel bad and scold him like a little child. We then left the restaurant. Apparently, they've already made enough money from customers and are apparently above it all. Good manners are a skill that needs to be learned. We'd rather not give it a star. Since when do guests have to approach their waiter, especially when they've walked past them several times and it's obvious they're looking for a table? Since this establishment is, at best, a covered pub/beer garden, it's usually customary for guests to find a seat themselves. In a proper restaurant, we would, of course, expect to be assigned a seat. However, we generally expect the waiter not to ignore us and dismiss us as guests. And that was clearly the case here.

Very fast, competent and very friendly advice and service

We had a reservation for 6 adults and had various dishes and appetizers from both the regular and the daily specials. Everything was absolutely delicious. The (wild boar) schnitzel is a contender for the most delicious schnitzel I've ever eaten. The server was also super nice, and the prices are still reasonable. Please keep it up!

The food was good; the chef knows his stuff. But the aspic with fried potatoes for just under €19 and a bottle of Lübzer Schwarzbier for €5.10 are a bit on the high side. Sorry, but the ambiance in the annex is a bit reminiscent of a garden shed.

There's nothing to complain about here. The food is excellent, the service is attentive and more than friendly. We look forward to eating here every year on vacation! I recommend making a reservation in advance, though, because luckily we're not the only ones who love this place. It's always packed.

A small, cozy restaurant a bit off the main street. The ambiance is great, the quality of the food is more than good. The price/performance ratio is also positive. What's most noteworthy, however, is the service. We were served by a friendly young man (probably the boss). He's attentive and always has a joke up his sleeve. We'll be happy to come back.

We ate here several times during our summer vacation. It's a small, cozy restaurant, so reservations are essential. In summer, you can also sit on the covered terrace. The owner is very friendly and always has a funny saying on his lips. The food is very, very delicious. The cook really does a great job. The beef ribs and the wild mushroom soup are highly recommended.

Small but perfectly formed, as the saying goes! Very good, freshly prepared food in a filling amount, beautifully presented. I think it's worth waiting for a reservation. With a bit of luck, you'll get a seat in between, but I still recommend reserving a table in advance. The service is very friendly and informal. It's a great place to end your evening.

A very nice and friendly waiter who is also the owner (a great guy). You just have to make a reservation in advance. We were very lucky; we called and wanted to make a reservation, but unfortunately, we couldn't reach anyone. We called back in the afternoon, unfortunately, with a cancellation because everything was full. But luck was on our side, and he called us again 15 minutes later because he had received a cancellation, and as a result, we had a lovely evening and our last day of vacation with a fantastic dinner. From the outside, it's rather unassuming, and the ambiance doesn't match the super delicious food and the incredibly friendly service. Whether it was fish or meat, we were completely satisfied. Reservations are recommended.

We can only confirm the previous statements and reviews. We just drove up on a whim and asked for a seat. The waiter quickly checked and allowed us to enjoy the delicious food there. The Thuringian roast beef is a must-try! Two large slices of meat with generous amounts of onions, fried potatoes, and a side salad. The flavor is dreamy, right down to the salad dressing. The chef serves, the lady cooks, and everyone is super friendly and chatty. If I'm ever at the Baltic Sea again, the Waldhäuschen will be a must-visit. The Waldhäuschen in Karlshagen truly lives up to its name. It's not particularly large, and you have to reserve a table in advance, but it's really, really worth it! Despite the relatively full house, five of us managed to get a table without a reservation at short notice. The service was super friendly and very attentive, the food arrived relatively quickly and was absolutely delicious. However, during the season, I would recommend everyone to reserve a table in advance.

We wanted to eat at 7:00 p.m., but that wasn't possible, according to the phone call; only 7:30 p.m. That would be too late when we got there. We didn't accept the offer to be squeezed in.

In my experience, many restaurants along the coast focus more on a thick menu and then don't really cook anything. It's different here. The cuisine is truly top-notch for the price range. In my opinion, there's nothing better in Karlshagen. Tip: call a few days in advance and make a reservation.

We tried it on a whim and saw that there were already plenty of reserved seats. With a bit of luck, there was still a table available for us. The service was very warm and entertaining. The food, the ambiance, everything was to our satisfaction. The wait was also acceptable, and I really enjoyed the food (trout).

My wife and I were looking for a good restaurant and found one here. We called and luckily got a table that was squeezed in. But we didn't care. We haven't had such a good meal in a long time. The Google reviews speak for themselves. The good waiter also plays a big part in that. Very friendly, open, and humorous. We'll definitely be back. Reservations are recommended. We were here on May 3rd. Eating at the end of your vacation. I have to honestly say, absolutely great. The food was super tasty and the staff was great. The boss always had a saying ready. We wanted to reserve for September 3rd, 26 but that was still too early 😁 We will then meet again so that we can come to eat with you at least twice. The restaurant is small and therefore the number of tables is very limited. It's unlikely you'll be able to eat without a reservation. However, it's worth it because the food here is excellent. The minced meat in porcini mushroom sauce with warm beetroot recommended by the staff, which was not on the menu, was a taste bomb. Everything perfectly seasoned. After such a main course, dessert was a must. Also not on the menu: puff pastry filled with apples and ground almonds, seasoned with cinnamon and amaretto. The whole thing is “dipped” in vanilla sauce. It was culinary heaven!!! Add to that the very friendly service (best wishes to the cook) and the evening is perfect! We'll be back!!!

Small shop with a big heart. You come in, feel at home, and are served promptly and individually despite the fact that the hut is full. A menu with lots of delicacies without any half-hearted extras - every dish is perfectly to the point, rich, and tastes amazing. Here you still understand something about the craft of cooking! The service is extremely friendly, accommodating and even a quick comment is never inappropriate. A tiny bit of sadness - when the store is full, the oxygen runs out quite quickly. Otherwise, I have rarely experienced such a pleasant location! Be sure to reserve!!

Discovered on Google as an insider tip... of course not so secret anymore... because it's really indescribably good. Hgm seasoned meat the best in the world. Senior portion of wild goulash is simply a poem! Children's dish Schitzel fries...real schnitzel with good breading. The beetroot rocket...actually I'm against beetroot...but I tried it...actually really tasty the first time. We don't need to talk about service... that's how SERVICE works... 10 out of 5 stars... feel-good talk with your best friend... Conclusion: I haven't eaten or drank so well in a long time... still worth mentioning...: red soda and homemade fruit schnapps (my choice apricot), both very tasty too. THANK YOU for the great time. Of course you have to pre-order...otherwise it will be a game of chance.

When we made our reservation, children's cutlery was already available and painting utensils were also handed out straight away. Good morning We ended up in the Baltic Sea resort of Karlshagen on Usedom and in the Waldhäuschen based on the reviews. Very friendly welcome, really tasty food and lots of laughs. There were four of us and everyone was very satisfied. Everything really fits here. Very happy again.

It is a small but very fine restaurant with super friendly staff and food prepared with a lot of love. Our glasses were never empty, we were always asked if everything was OK and we never had to wait long for our food.
