I went out to dinner again today. Unfortunately, the nice man wasn't there, but the waitress noticed I wasn't in a great mood. She took care of me despite the excessive workload of the other colleague. It was very thoughtful of her. Thank you. I will gladly recommend you and come again.

The food was very tasty. Prices were market-standard, the starter soup was a bit expensive, but otherwise okay. The ambiance resembled a pub, which somewhat dampened the cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food didn't arrive at the same time, arriving five minutes late. However, it was delicious, and I would come again.

2nd Visit September 27, 2025 I stopped in spontaneously and again found a nice spot without any problems. It was a Wiener veal schnitzel with fried potatoes and salad, and... it was excellent! 1st Visit: I stopped in spontaneously and didn't have a reservation, but luckily I still got a seat. Very polite, attentive staff and very good food!!! Generous portions and something for everyone. Highly recommended!!! Cozy, rustic atmosphere 😉

My wife and I had a wonderful experience dining here. It wasn't a busy night so we were seated right away. We were served promptly and the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The food was delicious but it was the service that completely stood out. The waiter/bartender/etc. was very friendly and, again, the service was excellent. Would be more than happy to return.

I went there because it was said to be a local favorite, but for Koreans, it was just so-so, not particularly new or tasty. The pasta was incredibly salty. The beer was delicious, and the staff was friendly.

Unfortunately, the cleanliness has left a lot to be desired lately. The tables were practically sticky, supposedly because of a disinfectant. There are other ways to do this. The service, while friendly, is sometimes inattentive. You do have to be patient. It's also a shame that the terrace remains closed even in nice weather. Overall, everything has taken a turn for the worse. A shame.

We had the rump steak with mustard crust and it was superb. The host was very friendly and we enjoyed the meal very much. Highly recommended.

Great restaurant, well worth the walk down the road from the main railway station. Staff are very welcoming, the menu is varied and of good quality (English menu available) - can particularly recommend the schnitzels.

We wilden lekker even eten in een restaurant buiten centrum Dusseldorf. Op google vondt ik dit restaurant dus we gingen er met lijn 701 naar toe. Bij aankomst in restarant was het rustig de vrouw aan de bar begroete ons en we bestelden bij haar twee drankjes. Na dit kwam een zeer overdreven ober het eten opnemen. Op de kaart vonden wij de prijzen nog wel hoog voor een simpele schnitzel met patat. De ober was wel zeer aanwezig en deed zeer afstandelijk en min voor ons als Nederlander. Even later kwam het eten: Schnitzels uit de frituur kleffe patat en zowel de peper als zigeuner saus was minimaal zeg maar een eetlepel. Bij afrekenen bleef ober zeuren om tipgeld. Dit wezen we af door zijn manier van omgang met nederlandse gasten. Hij werd behoorlijk pissig en deed zijn luid horende beklag bij de barvrouw. Wij vertrokken en kregen taal nog teken meer van de uitbaters. Kortom eens maar NOOIT weer naar Vossen.

We were there with about 100 people. Overall, the restaurant staff were well prepared. The food was freshly prepared, and the portions were generous. Overall, good food and good service. Keep it up...

It's almost like a trip into the past, a nice, good schnitzel stand has become a real rarity, it's been saved and will be visited soon :-)

Everything was to the best of satisfaction

Kissing is forbidden! We went to this restaurant as a couple. We'd been there before and found it very appealing. This time, too: the food was delicious (schnitzel) and the beer was nice and cold. At one point, the waiter or manager told us that children would be coming soon and then we'd have to stop kissing. We didn't take him seriously. We only kissed occasionally, so nothing serious happened. After we sat down at another table and kissed again, the waiter simply said to us: "I'll say it one last time (that we won't kiss) because otherwise other guests would feel disturbed." After that, the atmosphere was completely ruined, and we felt totally uncomfortable and unwelcome. If you can or want to do that in these times, please. For us, this was the last time. Once again: couples are not welcome here!

A place more people should visit, even though it is not more centrally located. The Schnitzel with pepper sauce that I ate here was the best Schnitzel I have eaten. The sauce was amazingly good! Can only be recommended!

I hadn't been to Vossen for a long time and actually remembered it as a restaurant with good German cuisine and a nice cold beer. I recently went there again after almost 2 years and I have to admit that the service was still very good. The same waiters were still on duty and they were very polite and prompt. Unfortunately, I have to say that the quality of the food has deteriorated significantly. Where previously I would have happily given a stable 3.5-4 stars for the food. I have to say that my last visit was more like 2 stars. The schnitzel was very dry and the fries were rather weak. Unfortunately, the best part of the meal was probably the starter salad. I also noticed that it took less than 10 minutes between ordering and the food arriving. Therefore I assume that this is probably not fresh schnitzel. Recommended for a beer outside in the summer, but not for food.

What a gem in the heart of Dusseldorf. Me and my family had such an amazing time. The food is absolutelly delicious and the staff so kind. Would highly recommend for anyone.

Can I recommend this place? No, the food was okay, potato pancakes would have deserved a few more potatoes, the schnitzels are large, the sauces and side dishes are economical, the service lacks inner peace 😂, maybe it helps in stressful moments and makes the atmosphere more relaxed. Result: If you're nearby, you can think about it, but certainly not a place to see.

We went to the restaurant a couple of weeks ago and ate schnitzel and baked potatoes. The food was very delicious, we were satisfied. The atmosphere of the restaurant was excellent. The staff was really friendly, but a special mention goes to our handsome tattooed male waiter 😉 He made us feel really welcome. The visit was downright joyful. Fabulous local food, excellent service and perfect vibe. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ On a very brief trip here, I wanted something local and chilled but good quality. This was PERFECT. Even though I don’t speak German, they treated me like all the other locals who visited while I sat there. Ate a HUGE delicious meal of pork schnitzel, crispy potatoes (divine) and sauerkraut (as a substitute for salad, cause I am treating myself) and it was exactly what I wanted. I also had three large beers and it came to €34. I then sat and read my book for hours afterwards; the music was vibey but not distracting, the place was atmospheric but easy going and full of locals, and I couldn’t recommend this place enough for a relaxed but great quality evening in Düsseldorf 🍻 add this to your list!

I can't say anything about the food, only that you are treated very unfriendly if you want to go to the toilet, I'm 55 years old and didn't think anything of it. After the toilet a waiter stood in front of me and said “that doesn’t work like that” I shouldn't just walk through the public bar without him!!!! to give notice. Ok, got it, I just had to go to the toilet. Thank you Service Desert Germany I'll never come to their restaurant again /:::Star is just for posting

This is a neighborhood gem! Every time that I walk by, there’s always groups of people enjoying. It’s a good place for family and friends. Good was really tasty! This is always on my list when I have friends visiting from abroad and I want them to try German food.

The restaurant always impresses me with its excellent service and delicious food. I was there last Friday and was again greeted by an incredibly friendly staff member. His pleasant charisma, polite behavior and constant smile make the stay simply perfect. Another detail that always strikes me is that he always appears well-groomed and has a pleasant scent - this makes the visit even more pleasant. The food, as always, was excellent, fresh and tasty. For me, this restaurant is a place that I like to return to again and again. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

The restaurant is really excellent and the food is equally great. I'm particularly excited about the knuckle - my absolute favorite dish at this place! It is prepared to perfection and is always a pleasure. Positive: The food was really delicious and the portion sizes were appropriate. Negative: When making an online reservation you have to provide your bank details. In the event of a no-show, a cancellation fee of 25 euros per reserved place will be charged, something I have never experienced before. The service was terrible, we had to wait around 15 minutes for the drinks and around 60 minutes for the food. When we pointed out that there was no dressing in the salad (which can happen), the waiter replied that they always had dressing in their salad and indirectly accused us of lying. After we had to wait around 30 minutes for the second round of drinks, we decided to continue the evening at another location. Finally, everyone in the group (10 people) had to come to the bar individually to pay, which took another around 20 minutes. The waiter ignorantly commented on the criticism that we expressed directly on site with the words "that's just the way it is".

It was very tasty. Went there without a reservation. We were first given a small table and ate our salad there. Then we were given a larger table and we had a great time sitting there and eating the schnitzel we ordered. It was a bit noisy due to the background noise, but the very friendly staff made up for it. And the schnitzel was really great. Definitely would like to come back.

It was the best decision we could have made. A little inconspicuous from the outside, very cozy and inviting from the inside. We had reserved a table for 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The food was a 15 out of 10, just like grandma used to do, very tasty!! We treated ourselves to a seasonal goose leg with red cabbage and dumplings, a dream! The service was very courteous, warm and in a good mood! We'll definitely come back! Best regards! ☺️

Efficient, friendly and plentiful. We tasted some generously served German specialties. Our table neighbors opted for the shank which seemed excellent (but you need a huge appetite). Very friendly service.

We really ate the best knuckle ever here. Super juicy, super crispy on the outside, not too salty, but well seasoned and with homemade mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. We are tried and tested and can judge this very well. 22 euros might seem a bit too expensive, but we are in Düsseldorf city. It's generally more expensive there anyway and the food was worth every cent. The landlord is quick, funny and nice and always has a quick saying ready. We even drank a digestive schnapps together later. (not a brush cleaner, but the old varieties from Prinz) We really give it a very clear recommendation and a full 5 stars. If you like to eat a good knuckle, this is the right place for you. Oh, what I don't want to ignore is that there is also fresh Guinness on tap here, which isn't everyday either.

We sat outside on a warm summer evening. Unfortunately, it was very noisy at times due to the busy street and tram next to it. The service was ok, but unfortunately came a little too rarely. Unfortunately, many of the dishes on the menu and on the daily menu were no longer available. My meal was basically okay and tasted good, but it wasn't a highlight... All in all, a good visit to the restaurant.

Food is good, unfortunately you often have to wait longer. Ambiance is rustic, service tries to remain friendly. But obviously always stressed and comes across as very arrogant because you really want to be relaxed, funny and quick-witted, which sometimes backfires when your performance isn't right. You get used to it...

Starting with the relaxed and friendly welcome from the waiter, it was a successful afternoon to strengthen ourselves before the Germany game. We had 2x schnitzel farmer style and 1x daily recommendation schnitzel with onion/cream sauce. The food was very good, hot and very large portions. Delicious old beer or Krefeld beer rounded the whole thing off. The beer garden is right on the street, which was a bit noisy, but everyone should be aware of that given the location. The waiter has a funny and direct manner. We would like to come back.

Very friendly staff (you don't find that often these days, especially when there's a lot of stress and this one was there to visit). We stayed in Düsseldorf for one night and went there to eat because of the many positive reviews - we didn't regret it. Prices were reasonable, decent portions and there was a salad at the front. Wir sind jedes Jahr zwei mal anlässlich einer Messe in Düsseldorf. Die Altstadt ist ganz nett zum flanieren, jedoch zum Essen wollen wir dort nicht mehr hin. Ein Blick in Tripadvisor weckte unser Interesse am Vossen. Über Open Table konnten wir einen Tisch im Außenbereich reservieren. Liegt an einer großen Kreuzung, viel Verkehr, aber wir sind ja auch in einer Großstadt. Tische stehen mit komfortablen Abstand zueinander, der Kellner machte einen Top Job. Wir hatten noch Rückfragen zum Gericht die sehr speziell waren. Er ging sofort zur Küche um unsere Frage zu klären. Getränke kamen super gekühlt und sehr schnell, das Essen war geschmacklich das beste was ich seit langem in einer Gastronomie bekommen habe. Portion reichlich, meine Frau konnte nicht alles essen. Absolute Empfehlung, wir kommen im Winter zur Boot-Messe wieder.

We ate there today, the food was very tasty, large portions, but very poor service. The waiter was very inattentive and somehow unfriendly. We asked several times if we could have a dish without onion due to an allergy. He made us feel annoyed with us and STILL didn't bring the dish without onions despite the promise. We didn't give any tips.

Really unfriendly waiter. I was there with my parents. When we arrived, the waiter ignored us and just ran away. When I asked if there was a free table, the waiter showed with his hand that we should choose a table ourselves. When we went to a table the waiter yelled at us to wait for him because he was going to show us a table. We left afterward because we simply didn't feel like eating anymore. This restaurant is simply not recommended!

Was there recently with my 80 year old mother. Instead of respect for her age, she only experienced scorn and ridicule. Something like that is disrespectful and not good service and therefore a visit to this restaurant is not recommended!

Excellent food and great service. Very generous portions. Would highly recommend. We had various schnitzels between us and everyone enjoyed theirs.
