Restaurant Urig in Kerken

We were there for the first time today. We had made a reservation in advance, which was a good thing, as it was very busy. The restaurant, as the name suggests, has a rustic atmosphere. The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable, and the staff were very nice and friendly. Highly recommended; we will definitely eat there again soon.

International cuisine with a good impression. The interior design reflects the name "Urig" (rustic). The many tables outside are set up in a modern, Mediterranean style. The food was delicious, and we got our money's worth (see pictures). Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow, and we had to wait a while for empty drinks. But that didn't dampen our spirits...

We eat there very often and are always very satisfied. After making a reservation, we usually get our favorite spot. The seating is very comfortable. The service is friendly and attentive. There are often seasonal dishes (special menu), which we always enjoyed. We particularly recommend: Ribs with a twist, Chicken Milanese, Lamb Shank, Pike-perch Fillet with Grilled Vegetables, and Spicy Schnitzel. For dessert: Pancakes. Since we eat there almost every two weeks, everything speaks for very good hosts.

We ate there on Friday evening after calling to see if there was a table available. You should definitely do that, as I think this restaurant is relatively fully booked. We were a bit surprised by the menu, as the name gives no indication that it is a Balkan restaurant. The service was very friendly, but as usual the salad arrived within minutes and wasn't anything special, just lots of greens and coleslaw, but at least you could choose between two different dressings. I had a starter of burrata and cocktail tomatoes with balsamic dressing. €12.50 is a hefty price, but it was very tasty. I chose a classic Lord Charles grill plate, which was okay, but also not a highlight. Basically a Balkan grill plate. The price-performance ratio is okay, though. My wife had the rump steak, which was also okay, but in my opinion, without a classic fatty crust, I suspect it wasn't rump steak, but more like rump steak. All in all, it was okay, but it won't be a regular for us.

Highly recommended. Good value for money, very tasty, generous portions, and attentive service. The name says it all, and when the weather's nice, it's also very nice to sit outside. We'll be back.

We've eaten there a few times now, and yesterday the food was once again delicious and the evening was lovely. The staff is very friendly and pleasant, and you feel at home. The price-performance ratio is also absolutely excellent. We've already tried several dishes, and the preparation is always top-notch. We'll definitely be back. However, you should make a reservation in advance, as it gets quite busy even during the week. Understandably.

Friendly staff. Good atmosphere. Tasty food. When we were there the restaurant was full. We were very lucky that they still had 1 table. If we had been there a little later, they would not have had a place. Reservations are therefore recommended. In terms of parking space, it was full in front of the restaurant, but there was still plenty of parking space a little further away (near the sports center). We had a fresh salad as a starter and then schnitzel with fries.

We had a great evening with 13 people. Everyone enjoyed it wonderfully. The service was great and very friendly and the atmosphere was “rustic”. We'll be back!

Wir waren zum 90. Geburtstag von meiner Oma, mit 24 Personen hier. Alles hat super und reibungslos geklappt. Wir haben nach Karte bestellt und das Essen war sehr schnell da, auch wenn jeder was anderes hatte. Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Auswahl auf der Karte war perfekt. Das Restaurant und auch der Außenbereich sieht sehr schön und gemütlich aus. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und freundlich 👍 Wir werden definitiv wieder kommen 🤗

Very nice restaurant with a large outdoor terrace

Quaint, cozy atmosphere, very spacious, you could choose whether you wanted to sit quietly in private or in larger rooms with more people around. The dips were very tasty, the gnocchi with wild mushrooms were not that high quality, the prawns were again excellent and the wine was also good. Very friendly staff!

We celebrated our Christmas party at Urig and looking back, we weren't very happy with the service. The food was good overall, there was one complaint in our group regarding the Spanish pepper pot dish. The sirloin steak and the rump steak were tough, one of them was so tough that it was left alone. We told the lady from service about this and she wanted to report this to the chef. When we said goodbye and paid, we asked what the chef meant and the chef's reaction, which was passed on by the lady from the service, led to this negative rating under the "Service" section, which of course also influenced the overall rating. The chef said, "It's not his fault if there's tough meat." Well, the question is, who is responsible for the quality of the goods? At the end, the chef releases the goods so that they can be served to the guest. It wasn't a big problem for us, something like that can happen, but we found it outrageous that people reacted like that. Should the guest be responsible for ordering the product? I would also like to point out that the product is one of the most expensive on the entire menu, so the guest can expect something and if something doesn't fit, there should be a professional reaction from the kitchen from the person responsible. The €3.50 discount that the service “kindly” gave us is more of an insult. On the subject of ambience, it's a large restaurant with a nice rustic decor, we liked it overall. The food in general was also good and the selection was sufficient. But as a vegetarian you shouldn't expect too much. Since the map is available online, there should be little confusion. We would like to visit the Urig more often, but the reaction at the end destroyed the entire positive impression. I hope the Urig team reads the review and sensitizes themselves. Service is not just what the employees do at the table, but also what happens in the kitchen and at the bar. PS: The chef himself wasn't seen once, the lady from the service was able to pass everything on to us.

We were there for the first time yesterday. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food and drinks were really tasty and inexpensive compared to Münster. When we visit our friends from Wachtendonk again, we will definitely enjoy the delicious food there again.

Restaurant Urig is without a doubt my absolute favorite restaurant in the area. As soon as you enter the restaurant you immediately feel welcome. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the rustic ambience makes you feel at home. The menu offers an excellent selection of regional and seasonal dishes that are always freshly prepared. I am particularly impressed by the meat dishes, which are always grilled to perfection and taste simply fantastic. The quality of the ingredients is really outstanding and you can tell that the cooking here is done with great attention to detail. But the vegetarian dishes are also a real treat and show that the restaurant has something to offer for every taste. Another plus point is the friendly and attentive service. The staff are always helpful and always have a smile on their faces. No matter whether you need a recommendation or want a small change to the dish - the team is always flexible and responds to the guests' wishes. You can feel that passion is put into the work here. The price-performance ratio is also absolutely right. The portions are generous and the prices are more than fair for the quality of the food. The outdoor area is also particularly beautiful and invites you to linger in the summer. When the weather is good, you can eat outdoors and enjoy the rural surroundings. All in all, the Urig restaurant is a real insider tip in the Aldekerk region. It combines great food, a cozy atmosphere and excellent service. For me it is the perfect place to spend a nice evening - whether with family, friends or as a couple. I am happy every time I eat there and can highly recommend it to everyone.

The employees are friendly, cheerful and quick. The dining room is inviting and the wood makes it really "rustic". The food was good and had a good price-performance ratio. What is particularly noteworthy is that as a large group (approx. 5 tables) we received our food shortly after ordering and also Pretty much at the same time, what could be improved is that there was only one employee at the card payment terminal and there was a queue. Overall, it was a very nice evening.

Disappointed 😞 €3.20 for warm beer... not to be enjoyed..no response despite complaints? The food was okay...recommended by the house="€28 for a piece of cold cuts of beef with 3 chanterelles and 6 pieces of 1/2 potatoes...it tasted good but it wasn't a revelation. Carelessly prepared Veal liver very good and tasty. Salad at the forefront... honey mustard dressing was sparsely distributed, the salad was fresh. Service very friendly, but poor response after the beer complaints? "But someone was there...something still needs to be adjusted." As a guest, I don't care.

We had dinner at a restaurant with friends yesterday and it was pretty disappointing. The price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all. I had a dish for 30€ with different types of meat. For the price it was absolutely not enough. It looked like it was leftover pieces. The meat wasn't seasoned at all and the rice wasn't even cooked yet. The grill plate for 2 people for €50 was also a joke. There wasn't even enough on the plate for 2 people, we really promised ourselves something better after the great review at my local your local. Absolutely not recommended although the staff is super attentive and extremely friendly.

We had a lovely evening in the Urig. Despite a full house on a Monday evening, all of our special requests were accepted and implemented. The place is “quaint”! -cozy.
