Restaurant trattoria Bellavista in Saarburg

We had dinner there with our friends from Saarburg, Frank and Hanna. Dutch speaking.

Friendly atmosphere. Excellent menu. The pasta was good. The pizza was average. The service was very young and inexperienced. The owner is very friendly and speaks Dutch. There were a lot of fruit flies on our night. Could be an isolated incident.

There were nine of us there. Delicious food and excellent service in a lovely restaurant with a terrace offering a beautiful view of the countryside and the Saar River.

Go there for the view, which is very beautiful. The waitresses are lovely and attentive. However, for the price, the food is not up to scratch. The pizzas are not worthy of an Italian, and the 10€ (!) tiramisu tasted spoiled and clearly not up to scratch. It's a shame. We still had a pleasant time despite everything.

Expected a lot. Very nice location! With a beautiful view. No reservation needed, because it was a Saturday night. Plenty of space both inside and outside. The service was young and apparently inexperienced. Long waits for our first drinks and food. It didn't run entirely smoothly. The pizza and penne were very tasty! The wine was also good. We ordered two tiramisu, one of which was clearly spoiled... The mousse was thick, lumpy, and sour. It still showed up on the bill, even though we had sent it back without ordering a new one. All in all, a great location. The food is good, but I think we just got unlucky this evening. The tiramisu was absolutely terrible, hence only 3 stars for the food. Maybe next time it will be better.

We stopped here spontaneously for lunch. At first, we were a bit put off by the prices, but the quality and portion sizes were absolutely reasonable. The pasta was homemade, and the pulp sauce was perfectly seasoned. The lasagna was also very good. Combined with the very friendly and fast service, it was the right decision to stop here.

The best Italian restaurant in Saarburg. The chef takes joy in cooking, and you can taste it. We've been his guests for many years and always look forward to a visit.

A reserved table for six people wasn't available, so we were seated at a table for four. The portions weren't good value for money. The veal schnitzel wasn't a traditional schnitzel, and the price wasn't appropriate for the portion. The six portions arrived at different times.

Very tasty pizza, which I thought was really good. We sat outside, had a lovely atmosphere and a great view into the distance of the valley through which the Saar River winds.

I went there yesterday after a motorcycle tour with my partner and another friend, and unfortunately, I can't say anything positive. Right from the start, it took a very long time for us to even get our menus and be served. After an appetizer of five very small slices of bruschetta for just under €30 and a wait of over 90 minutes for our pizzas, the waitress came over to tell me that my pizza would take a little longer because there had been an accident. After another 10 minutes, I left my pizza with the kitchen and left the restaurant hungry and very annoyed. Sad to then charge €16-20 for what is practically a frozen pizza. We wouldn't recommend it!

Nine of us ate there yesterday. The service was extremely poor. We waited forever for our drinks and well over an hour for the main course. Something was constantly missing, and empty glasses weren't cleared away. My Aperol wasn't tasty. The food consisted mostly of convenience foods (even the pizza base, in my opinion!). The view was great, but you can probably enjoy it elsewhere with better food.

A disappointment. We arrived at 8 p.m. with a group of nine people. We were assigned a table on the terrace with a reservation, but the seating was a bit cramped. The beer garden atmosphere with a view of the Saar River was truly wonderful. This was unfortunately marred by the poor service. While our order was taken quickly by a very friendly waitress, we then had to wait what felt like an eternity for our drinks. What good is a great beer garden atmosphere without beer? After the first round finally arrived, the appetizer arrived. The bruschetta was mediocre, but at €9 (!), significantly overpriced. I can get better for less in the city. The wait for the main course was again characterized by poor service: The second beer arrived a little faster—albeit still slowly—but was then simply placed by a listless young waiter without clearing the old glasses. What's the point? The main course arrived—after a total wait of 90 minutes—around 9:30 a.m. It was a pizza tonno for €16, which gave me strong frozen food vibes. I don't think the pizza was frozen at all, but the flavor was undifferentiated, the crust was hard, and the size, at approximately 26 cm, was ridiculous for the price. Bottom line: A place that gives the impression of good Italian cuisine, but the service and quality of the food aren't even average. The prices are significantly too high and not even remotely justified by the – great – ambiance. The only explanation I can give for the numerous good reviews here is that these guests have never been to a truly good Italian restaurant.

Everything was great! The food, the portions, and especially the nice and friendly staff were simply amazing, especially with this view. Even though we only ordered a small lunch with drinks, didn't have a reservation, and wanted to sit in the shade in 32°C (90°F) heat... no problem at all. (We experienced something different today.) We had a lovely evening with a magnificent view and a delicious meal. The dishes were generous and of good quality at a more than reasonable price. The staff were friendly and cheerful.

A lovely restaurant with a beautiful beer garden and a view of the Saar Valley. Prices are a bit higher. Our two pizzas were tasty, but cooked too lightly. Furthermore, instead of the vegetarian pizza we ordered, they brought one with cooked ham and anchovies. The beer was well poured, but could have used a bit more chilling. Conclusion: A restaurant with potential, but with an unbalanced price-performance ratio.

The restaurant is a bit out of the way from the tourist center of Saarburg, about a one-minute walk, but it's worth the detour. Excellent Italian cuisine with fresh homemade pasta and ingredients. A little gem of a restaurant paired with a lovely terrace, excellent service, and clean restrooms. Highly recommended 👍

"Pizza with a panorama – and a touch of Italian serenity!" The Trattoria Bellavista lives up to its name: The view is so beautiful that you'll almost forget you actually came for the pizza. The service? It seems like it's fresh out of the Academy of Cordiality – maybe not quite up to scratch yet, but super friendly, attentive, and with real charm! The pizza arrived with a bit of a southern slowness, but baked with a lot of love. The flavor was solid – not an operatic finale, but a nice little round of applause for the dough! The bottom line: If you're looking for good weather, a glass of wine, and a view to fall in love with, this is the place for you. Minor deductions in the B grade, but we'll definitely be back – maybe next time for pasta with a view! 😄🍝🌄

A great view, with excellent service. Despite being full, they managed to accommodate us, and we had a very high-quality dinner.

The restaurant has a stunning view, and serves great foods at reasonable prices. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate your stay and is very thoughtfull and professional. The meat was perfectly prepared.

We went to this Italian restaurant yesterday and ate pasta with lamb. It was delicious, but the portions left a lot to be desired. We then told the waiter that the price-performance ratio wasn't right. The manager then gave us the same portion again. The plate we were served with the food didn't look particularly appealing. That shouldn't happen in a great restaurant.

Superb service and the food is excellent and fresh. We went here after a tip of a local, the restaurant is just outside the tourist area. But the ambiance, service and food were worth it. A proper family restaurant. Good view over the valley and shade for the hot days. We had lunch. Appetiser was the brushetta and after that we had a pizza. Highly recommend this one.

Fantastic restaurant with a view of the Saar River The Bellavista restaurant in Saarburg is highly recommended. It's a hospitable place where you immediately feel welcome. The beautiful terrace overlooking the Saar River exudes an idyllic atmosphere—a quiet, charming spot to fully enjoy the food and the surroundings. The dishes are delicious and freshly prepared. You can tell that a lot of love goes into the cooking here. Whether you prefer classic cuisine or something more unusual, the menu offers something for every taste. The attentive staff also deserves special mention. They think along with you and are happy to package food carefully for takeaway; this service makes all the difference.

Habe eine Pizza und Salat bestellt 16 und 8 €, die Pizza halb kalt und mit braunen Salat blättern, dazu ungewürzt! Nicht empfehlenswert!!!

Friendly staff, young.... Used... Sometimes not entirely coordinated, so the wait at the table was quite long. For once I would like to criticize the bruschetta. The bread is boring, better take the one from the salad!!!!! That was delicious and cross. 👍😉 All in all a great location.

This is a family run business since more than 20 years. The terrace during warm spring & summer days is great! The food is good. Limited choice of wines but the one we had was very good.

A warm welcome upon arrival. Atmospheric restaurant, very friendly staff and a varied menu. The food is served with a smile. The main courses are as tasty as they look. The desserts are also absolutely worth it. Behind the restaurant is a beautiful terrace with a great view over the river and the mountains. When visiting Saarburg you should not miss this restaurant.

We've been coming here once a year for at least 10 years to indulge in culinary delights. We've always had a dog (a rather large one) with us, and we've always been greeted warmly. The food, service, and atmosphere have always been excellent and satisfying. We've always had a nice spot, whether inside or outside. We've also been here with family and several friends, and we've been completely satisfied every time. We'd love to come back!

The food is a 12/10!! Super tasty and very freshly prepared. The pasta is prepared in its own sauce, like in Italy 🇮🇹. The staff was also very friendly.

We had a delicious meal here. Both pizzas were very tasty and the spaghetti Nero with shrimps were also delicious. Enjoyed a nice glass of wine, Pinot Grigio. Nice location and good service.

Pizza was almost very good. Lasagna was good, but not too big (16.00€). Service ok. with room for improvement (actively offer dessert/espresso, ask for a second drink... always keep an eye on the guests...). In the summer it's definitely nice to sit on the terrace.

A cozy restaurant with charm and a family atmosphere

We (a couple with a dog) were not allowed to choose the table in the restaurant. We were assigned a table on the terrace by the stone steps (exit). According to the older waiter, all the tables on the terrace were already reserved. Guests coming after us, however, had free choice of seating! This obvious unequal treatment of the guests ruined our summer evening! We then only consumed 2 (rather average) pizzas and drinks and skipped starters and desserts. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is not right here.

We still got a table for four people from the boss without a reservation, asking politely sometimes helps! Half an hour later the terrace was completely full, which speaks for good food, and it turned out to be true. Delicious pasta dishes, friendly staff, beautiful terrace with a great view, what more could you want 😋

Roof terrace is ok. Service nice. Boss looked very grim when we came in with two small dogs. Pizza with figs was offered to us as very tasty. They were white as brook flour, hard as bones and had no taste. Two pizzas and two apple juice spritzers €45. We were seated in the sun and the regular customers were asked which seat they would like. Even though everything was supposedly reserved. Never again.

Everything was perfect in this restaurant, including bed and breakfast.

We were welcomed and served very nicely; The terrace with a great view of the Saar and old trees is a dream. The pizzas tasted very good. The wine was also good. The prices (especially for Lambrusco = 18 euros for a carafe) were a bit high.

A place with a really nice atmosphere and really bad treatment of guests and poor food quality. We were there today (without a reservation) with 2 small, peaceful dogs and were greeted by the boss with a very unfriendly "welcome look" and pointed to a place on the beer terrace in the bright sun. All the tables under the huge umbrellas were empty and supposedly reserved and almost so until the end of our stay. We ordered 2 pizzas off the menu and were very disappointed. They looked like cardboard and were just as dry and tasteless, and for a fairly high, unreasonable price. We definitely won't be coming back!!! Note: The two young waiters were very friendly and did their job well.

So we waited about 30 minutes for service. Then about 1.5 hours for food 😡 then we left, we've never experienced anything like that before. When I asked where the food was, they said it wasn't ready yet. Order a pizza and a lasagne

On the last day of the holiday I had dinner here with my boyfriend. The pizzas were delicious and the service was great! The owner speaks Dutch and is very friendly. We really felt welcome here! Highly recommended!

Dies ist keine gewöhnliche Pizzeria, sondern eine richtige Trattoria. Für meinen Geschmack sehr gute Zutaten, frische hausgemachte Nudeln. Wir hatten direkt das Gefühl und Sehnsucht nach Italien. Es waren nur 3 Tische besetzt. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Wartezeit war angemessen, eher kurz. Gestört hat mich tatsächlich zuerst auch, dass keine Speisekarte aushängt, allerdings braucht man auch etwas um eine Auswahl zu treffen, weil es eben nicht 08/15 ist. Daher einfach reingehen und überraschen lassen. Die Musik war für mich etwas zu laut und aufdringlich.

Hmmmmm. Today we were here for the second time in a month. The ambience is very nice, the view is unique. The reception was very friendly, the advice was flawless, the service was very competent, fast, accommodating, young, motivated and a feast for the eyes when it comes to female beauty. The food, small, clear menu but...everything is of outstanding quality, tastes wonderful and is more than ok in terms of price. Thank you for allowing us to be here.

So the ambience is nice, but the food isn't great. Not everyone can cook pasta. And the drinks are very expensive. And then I've never experienced bringing a dog and feeding it with canned food and a fork from the table. That's the last thing.

Wir hatten zwei tolle Nudelgerichte und eine leckere Pizza. Der Service war sehr gut. Klare Empfehlung!

Wir haben hier am 20.07.2022 einen Gutschein über 40 Euro bekommen. Nun waren wir geschockt, als wir gesehen haben, dass der Gutschein nur bis zum 30.12.2022 gültig ist. Also nicht mal ein halbes Jahr!!! Zusätzlich steht auf den Gutschein, das dieser nicht Feiertags nutzbar ist. Dies lässt tief blicken und zeigt, wie hier der Kunde verarscht wird. Somit wird dieses Restaurant zukünftig vermieden.

Alles war super, würden wieder kommen

Wir waren heute Mittag zum Essen 5 Personen 3 Hunde Wer richtiges italienisches Essen zu schätzen weiß ist hier genau richtig. Lockere Atmosphäre richtig gutes typisches Essen mit Gerichten die nicht Jeder Italiener auf der Karte hat. Ein Gefühl wie ein kleiner Urlaub. Danke an das gesamte Team für diese Erfahrung immer wieder gerne. Top

Wir waren mit 13 Leuten zum Essen dort. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend. Das Essen und die Getränke waren sehr gut. Obwohl das ganze Lokal voll war, wurden wir zügig..zuvorkommend und freundlich bedient. Wir können das Bellavista gerne weiterempfehlen. Im Winter saßen wir in dem schön gestalteten Gastraum, für den Sommer gibt es aber auch eine traumhafte Terrasse

Op een stormachtige regenachtige zondag waren de pizza's en de koffie in deze pizzeria echt het heuvel oplopen waard!!

Während unseres Aufenthaltes in Saarburg, waren wir dort zweimal zum Essen. Eine freundliche Bedienung, ein nettes kleines Lokal in dem wir ohne Reservierung gut untergebracht wurden. Sehr gute Pizzen, Vorspeisen und Pastagerichte.

Sehr schmackhaft und richtig lecker!! Freundliches Personal, nettes Lokal - alles stimmig und ansprechend. Das Essen ist Wahnsinn. Ich finde das Hefeweizen für 6,-€ zu teuer, doch möchte die Sizilianische Eistorte besonders erwähnen - fantastisch!! Danke an das Team, es war ein schöner Abend 😉👍🏻

Wir waren sehr angetan von dem Restaurant, wenn wir in der Nähe wohnen würden, wären wir sicher öfter hier. Besonders gefreut hat uns der freundliche Umgang des Personals mit unserem Hund. Er ist dunkel und hat Schäferhundgröße, das wird nicht immer gerne gesehen. Das Essen war sehr lecker und der Kellner freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Went last Sunday. Apart from the possibility of being able to lunch on their spacious terrace that overlooks the Saar valley, I am struggling to find much else that is truly positive. Food - reasonable but expensive for the quantity served. Wine - prices were on the high side. Service - Dreadful On leaving the manager told us that they were having a bad day. Looking at other reviews on Google and Tripadvisor from the past couple of years it seems that Bellavista has quite a few of these.

Speisen wie Pasta, Minestrone, etc. wirklich hausgemacht. Caprese sehr lecker. Pizza auch. Ambiente sehr schön. Saßen draußen an der frischen Luft mit Blick auf die Saar. Auch wenn der Hausherr sehr gestresst/genervt wirkte, haben wir als Familie eine schöne Zeit gehabt.

Sehr gut,preiswert und lecker ,immer ein Genuss
