We went to Tehran Restaurant in Essen and were really pleased with our experience. The restaurant atmosphere was very pleasant and clean, the staff was extremely respectful and friendly, which made us feel very welcome. For the meal, we ordered a tasting tray, which included several delicious Iranian appetizers and the flavors were really great. After that, we also had a kebab tray, which was both generous in quantity and the quality of the meat and the flavor were really perfect. Everything was prepared with care and taste. For dessert, we ordered traditional ice cream and Shirazi Faloodeh, whose cool and delicious taste lingered well after the meal and completed the enjoyment of the meal. Overall, everything was great and we will definitely come back to this restaurant. If you are looking for high-quality authentic Iranian food in Germany, especially in the city of Essen, I recommend Tehran Restaurant 100%.

What a fantastic Persian restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious! The ambiance is still very reminiscent of the old Bocholder Hof, but it's quaint and authentic. Excellent service: courteous, friendly, and competent. The dishes are a good size, and the prices are absolutely reasonable. The ayran is delicious, and the homemade spritzers are also a must. We sat outside, right in front of a really large fig tree. We had a great time and thank you very much!

I can't recommend this restaurant. I joined my friends later and sat outside at first (the three of us) at 7, then later at 5. My companion had to go inside after 15 minutes and ask for the menu, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to look at it in the first place. They made me wait again to order, so they had to get the lady inside again. I chose the sweet white wine on the menu and a side salad, as well as a lamb skewer with pomegranate sauce and rice. I was told they didn't have any sweet wine (never), even though it was on the menu. I agreed to try another one and asked for a small sip first, because I'm not one to waste anything, which they agreed to. The drink arrived as a "full glass," and they immediately wanted to walk away. I tried it and unfortunately had to return the full glass because the wine was too acidic for me. Instead, I ordered a large shandy. I got bread with half an onion, some feta, parsley, and mint as starters (without cutlery). I thought it was the way it was supposed to be, and I ate it all with my fingers. The salad came in a small bowl, no more than 8x8 cm in size and not particularly deep, with some cucumber, onions, tomatoes, and I guess turnips, and a rude, unappealing dressing (€5). It cost me €10, so it wasn't worth it for me, just based on the amount. I kept waiting; the salad was just a filling for my teeth, I'd finished my first large drink, and I was still very, very hungry. I ordered a second drink, which was just as difficult as ordering the food. In total, I waited at least 45 minutes, if not an hour, for the food. Another lady at the next table was also getting upset; no cutlery, empty spice jars on the table, and so on, and she also came from the Persian culture. The food arrived, and what can I say? The rice was delicious, the lamb wasn't dry, but the sauce ruined it, extremely sour. Because I was so hungry by then, I ate it. I thought to myself, not my taste, but maybe that's how it tastes in Persian cuisine. When the waitress came and asked, I also replied that I didn't like it, but there was no response. Two minutes later, another woman came with the same question. My mouth was full and I couldn't answer, so she quickly disappeared before I could finish it. I finished my meal and at least I wasn't hungry anymore, but I have to say, for me, it was my last visit there, and I haven't had such a bad restaurant experience in a long time, and for me, that alone, costing about €40, was extremely disappointing. And if it's demanding to get a menu at some point and then order promptly, then I hope your guests don't come hungry. That answer therefore gets one star less.

The food was okay, but I was disappointed with the side dishes - they were neither particularly tasty nor well prepared. The drinks were also expensive and were not convincing in relation to the quality. The worst thing, however, was that after paying I was simply not given a receipt and only wanted cash!!! This is completely unacceptable and makes me doubt the integrity of the restaurant. Something like this shouldn't happen in any restaurant. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant and will definitely not be coming back.

I have been in Germany for 50 years, only once in Vienna have I eaten such high quality food as in this restaurant. We ate Kebab Soltani, a dream, great meat both barg and kubideh. Super good meat, very well seasoned and the best quality. It's a shame that there isn't a restaurant like this in Frankfurt. The price is reasonable for this quality.

We were guests of your restaurant on Saturday, December 28. Unfortunately, there was a gap of at least 45 minutes between filling the dishes and Mirzagasemi's dish was not filled anymore. We were delayed for about 20 minutes to receive a salad order. I gave these two Amitaz for the grilled chicken that was cooked very well, the rice that was of good quality and the delicious Mirza Ghasemi. Unfortunately, I didn't like the pounded kebab, I thought it was too greasy. Of course, at the end, I had a criticism. Anyone who expresses dissatisfaction is not a liar, whether you say that you were our guest or not. We went to this Iranian buffet on Saturday evening and the food was literally terrible. The kebabs and chicken kebabs had absolutely no special taste. It's really fascinating how you can cook meat in such a way that it's completely tasteless. The staff was friendly but a bit inexperienced.
