They only accept cash payments, so I found it difficult and unpleasant, but the food itself was good and acceptable. Unfortunately, the dessert wasn't fresh.

Food was good. I liked chicken kebab and Chenje. They don't accept card. It was written on the entrance but I did not see it.

My first choice for a delicious meal and a good time is Darband Restaurant. The quality of the food is top notch. The excellent service and the friendly and smiling staff create a warm and intimate environment. Especially Mahsa and Nazanin's attitude is very friendly, like you went to your friend's house to eat 🩵. But I'm really angry with you because this year, on my birthday, you went on vacation and I had to go to another Iranian restaurant in Essen for the first time and my good day was ruined. You have no right to go on vacation 😂 I'm just kidding. I just wish you had a replacement team for when you go on vacation so you don't have to close the restaurant. The kebabs were very tasteless and of poor quality, and the rice was also tasteless and completely lifeless. The perfect and oldest Iranian restaurant in Essen! Here you can not only enjoy delicious kebabs of excellent quality, but also traditional Iranian desserts like Iranian ice cream, faloodeh, and more at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended for anyone who loves authentic Persian cuisine.

After I said how many mice are there outside, it was easy to say that the outdoor environment is natural! You put a chair somewhere and you know there are mice, is that normal for you?! It is perfectly legitimate to point out hygienic deficiencies as a guest, especially when it comes to the presence of rats or other animals – also outdoors. Your justification that “animals exist outside” does not change the fact that I, as a paying customer, can expect a clean and safe environment. Instead of presenting my experience as an attempt to “damage business”, a more professional approach to criticism would have been appropriate. The taste was excellent, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service was abysmal. The price increase, especially in conjunction with the service, is a reason for me to give it two stars. A price increase of 60% within a year and over 100% in the last four years. I understand that everything has become more expensive, including for the restaurant. But Soltani going from €21 to €33 within a year, despite the increase in recent years, is unjustified. And worst of all: it's still cash only. Too bad, unfortunately, the value for money is no longer there.

Nevertheless, I'd love to come back. There's even live music on Fridays and Saturdays. You can also sit outside when the weather's nice.

Card payments aren't accepted. I'd have to drive almost 40 minutes there and back to pick up the money. When I asked, "Why not?" the woman disrespectfully replied, "No card payments accepted," and left. Also, the meat wasn't cooked properly. So, stay away.

The food was simply amazing - one of the tastiest Persian dishes I've eaten in Germany so far! Everything was super fresh, the lamb was incredibly tender and the food came relatively quickly. Really great! The portions were more than sufficient - sometimes even too much (which is actually a plus). The staff was friendly and tried hard, but could have been a little more professional. Overall, a very nice visit!

We were there in Darband for the first time on Saturday. Four-piece mixed starter, Kebab Kubideh and Kebab Torche were quite tasty. My Shiraz Glass was a good accompaniment to sweet meat dishes. Service was quick and friendly. Thank you very much.

We ate at Darband several times and were always satisfied. The food tastes really good. But something happened to us yesterday that we found really outrageous. We were there at 9 p.m. and ordered something to eat there. The food came 20 minutes later. We ate, at 10 a.m. the condition came and said that they were closing the kitchen. I had already finished eating but my girlfriend was still eating. She cheekily took the plate with her even though my friend wasn't finished yet because they were closing. We still had our drinks when they closed the blinds. In my opinion, a little disgraceful. You could have waited a few minutes until you were finished. Next time I'll think about driving that far to eat there.

We went to this restaurant for lunch. Food portions were very small in relation to the size of the portion, and everything was very expensive. After the meal, when we wanted to pay, they told us that they didn't accept cards and their behavior immediately became 180 degrees different to us, so angry! Then they give us the address of the ATM, saying; "We don't know where you come from, no card is accepted everywhere, not just here"...Somewhere out there on a small old card, which was surrounded by a yellow, not clear cover, there was the sign "no card payment", which you I have to look first to find it, there's no sign of it inside...So disaster here...after eating we'd have to walk to the ATM...please people, if you want to eat Persian, please save your money money and please go somewhere else. This was definitely the worst experience I've ever had at a Persian restaurant. Never again!!!

All dishes taste very tasty, especially (Kabab Kubideh), nice and friendly staff. The restaurant itself is always very clean and, especially in times of Corona, very exemplary in terms of hygiene regulations. The furnishings are modern and traditional and cozy. The food is always freshly prepared and special requests are no problem.

I often went to the Darband restaurant. Absolutely loved it! The food was fantastic – especially the ayran. The service was excellent: our waiter was very friendly, attentive and gave us great recommendations. We didn't have to wait long for our food, even though the restaurant was busy. The atmosphere was cozy and authentic – with Persian music. It almost felt like you were in a small trattoria in Darband in Tehran, Iran. The prices are absolutely fair for the quality that is offered. I can recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to spend a nice evening with delicious food. I'll definitely come back.

Service unfriendly, facilities and the location itself an absolute disaster, totally dark, shabby and dirty. While we were there, an employee was working on a light bulb directly behind us and it suddenly exploded. Luckily no one was hurt, you can do that kind of thing before or after opening hours! never again!

The food is simply perfectly prepared, every dish is a delight that never fails to impress us. We have never experienced Persian cuisine that is so authentic and tastes so convincing. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, which makes the entire atmosphere very pleasant and inviting. You feel welcome from the first moment. In addition, the restaurant is always sparkling clean - another point that rounds off the positive overall impression. The Saturday evenings are a special highlight: live music and beautiful Persian songs enhance the already great experience. The musical background goes perfectly with the Persian cuisine and makes the evening an unforgettable experience. We can highly recommend Darband to everyone. Anyone who appreciates excellent food, friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere will definitely not be disappointed here.

We ordered from this restaurant for the first time today. And we were extremely disappointed, bordering on extreme audacity. We each ordered one dish with lamb and one with chicken. Unfortunately, the chicken was very raw. This is just saffron rice, 5-6 pieces of meat with a grilled tomato. Separately we received mint parsley and a raw, uncut onion. We paid a total of €50 for two dishes. There were no sauces or anything else. Just very dry and weak I would have expected a little more for the price. Will be our last time ordering here...

Die Erfahrung in diesem Restaurant an einem Sonntag war insgesamt positiv. Die großzügigen Portionen und das gute Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis haben überzeugt. Die prompte Bedienung an einem eher ruhigen Tag hat dafür gesorgt, dass das Essen schnell serviert wurde. Ein kleines Manko war, dass das Essen nicht ausreichend gesalzen war, aber die großzügigen Portionen sorgten dennoch für eine zufriedenstellende Sättigung. Insgesamt eine gute Wahl, besonders wenn man großen Wert auf reichhaltige Portionen legt.

Für mich und viele andere gehört Kartenzahlung in Deutschland in Restaurants zum Kundenservice. Jedes Restaurant in Essen bietet Kartenzahlung ! Deshalb 2 Sterne Abzug. Bei den Preisen kann man ruhig Kartenzahlung anbieten !

Das Essen war es aber absolut wert. Leider kein Spot für ein Date, aber ich würde wiederkommen weil es einfach sehr gut geschmeckt hat.

Hallo Das Essen ist soweit ganz lecker,es gibt zwar persische Restaurants die besser schmecken, aber man kann hier essen. Der Service ist allerdings sehr schlecht. Wenn ich in Deutschland in ein Restaurant gehe erwarte ich auch das man vernünftig deutsch spricht. Die Portionen sind ok bis auf den Reis, da könnte es mehr sein.
