Restaurant Tchopan in Lörrach

I was looking for something new to eat and already suspected that I would like the food simply because of Afghanistan's geographical location. So visited the restaurant, super nice reception, great service and the food didn't disappoint my expectations. Was great. I would be happy to come back on my next visit to Lörrach

We ate there for the first time yesterday and loved it. The marinated chicken with rice and salad was really very tasty and delicious. The service was very friendly and accommodating. We'd love to come back.

Unfortunately, the first visit to this restaurant was not satisfactory. The service could be improved and the ambience, although true to Afghan, was replaced by “lounge music” and lacked the Afghan flair. The food is expensive and simply prepared and presented. The main courses, qabulipalou and chicken, as well as tandoori, were all poorly prepared and in portions that didn't even exceed half their high prices. I don't understand how this restaurant could be rated so highly as it confuses those looking for an authentic Afghan restaurant. The Afghan ice cream and ferni were heavily laced with rose water, which made the dessert inedible. Overall my stay was frustrating and did not meet my expectations.

The best Afghan restaurant we have ever been to! A taste delight. We had the Chad menu and everything was so incredibly tasteful, outstandingly phenomenal! We will especially remember the lentils, the tomato-aubergine and the rose dessert for a long time. The tea with cardamom rounded off the menu. Thanks!

The best restaurant in terms of cleanliness and quality. I ordered banana meat with rice and mento, grilled chicken with rice, and a potato dish with balila and eggplant, and the rice comes in two types.

Very good food with an oriental touch, my vegetarian spicy dish was on point. The service could have been a little more behind as there was almost nothing going on. But definitely recommended from a culinary point of view!

Restaurant auf der Karte gefunden und spontan besucht. Die Überraschung war gross, als wir diese authentischen und überaus leckeren Speisen auf dem Tisch hatten! Auf die nicht ganz ernste Frage nach den Rezepten wurden wir mit einem eigens produzierten Kochbuch überrascht. Wir haben eins gekauft und ich freue mich auf das Nachkochen 😃 Besten Dank!

Extrem lecker und von der Chefin gekocht. Einzigartig gut in Lörrach. Unbedingt probieren, wenn man mal was anderes haben will als der Standard. Dafür ist der Preis echt fair.

Die Vorspeisen waren sehr lecker. (Teigtaschen und frittiertes Gemüse) Die Hauptspeise hat mich nicht ganz überzeugt. Das Lamm war nur okay, der Reis etwas trocken. Das Ambiente ist sehr cool! Wir hatten den Tisch beim Eingang rechts oben, bei dem man nur im Sitzen Essen kann. Preis/-Leistung könnte besser sein.

Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt hier leider nicht. Unverhältnis teuer für das was angeboten wird. Service inbegriffen.

Wer mal anders als italienisch, deutsch, grieschisch, libanesische oder asiatisch essen möchte ist im Tchopan richtig ! In gediegener Atmosphäre kann man das orientalische Essen genießen. Besonders das Lamm ist zu empfehlen. Das Restaurant ist 15 min von Basel Schweiz entfernt. Große Auswahl auch für Veganer. Lass es euch schmecken. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Vielen herzlichen Dank.

Schönes Ambiente, Essen immer perfekt gewürzt und sehr schöne Auswahl. Aufjedenfall einen Besuch wert allein schon wegen dem beeindruckenden Interieur.

Etliche von uns waren vor vielen Jahren in Afghanistan und kennen die Küche. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet, authentisch, schmackhaft und ganz sicher nicht zu wenig! Besser geht nicht. Der Service, die Tochter der Besitzer, liebenswert und aufmerksam. Kurz - eine Sternstunde. Oder besser, mehrere Sternstunden. Es war ein runder Geburtstag, und das Geburtstagskind wusste nichts davon, dass ihre Freunde kommen. Sie war glücklich, und wir alle auch. Kabuli Palau: Best of.

The food was good but more varieties is needed

We came here with a friend with not very high expectations. Despite being very empty the food was very good and tasty. The lamb we ordered literally fell apart as soon as you put your fork into it! Also the plates were pretty good quality! I cannot judge if it is authentic or not but can tell you it was yummy and tasty!

Mein absolut liebstes Restaurant in ganz Lörrach und Umgebung. Das Essen ist sehr vielseitig, oft vegetarisch und unglaublich lecker! Nahezu jedes Menü habe ich dort auf Wunsch schon vegetarisch, laktosefrei o. mit anderen Sonderwünschen, erhalten. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und nimmt sich alle Zeit der Welt. Unbedingte Empfehlung!!

Wir haben uns eigentlich auf einen Abend mit interessanten Essen gefreut. Aber wir wurden eines besseren belehrt. Der Gastraum war kalt (wir haben gefroren) und ungemütlich. Die Speisekarte ist sehr übersichtlich Vorspeise war sehr gut,aber der Hauptgang war nicht das was wir erwartet hatten. Zu wenig fremdländische Gewürze,die wir eigentlich hier erwartet hätte. Das Reastaurant hat eigene Parkplätze im Hof. Das Restaurant sieht eher neu aus und ist sehr schön eingerichtet. Man fühlt sich direkt wohl. Die Kellnerinen haben immer ein Lächeln im Gesicht und Sie machen Ihre Arbeit höchst professionell. Ich kann zwar das Essen nicht mit anderen afganischen Restaurants vergleichen, aber mir hat es SEHR geschmeckt. Es ist für deutsche Verhältnisse ein eher teueres Restaurant, jedoch ist es aus meiner Sicht mit der Qualität gerechtfertigt. Ich komme garantiert wieder!

Unfreundliches Service! wir haben uns nicht Wohl gefühlt. zu wenig Essen für teureres Preis. keine Beilagen, wie Bsp. Salz und Pfeffer auf dem Tisch. Wir hätten mehr erwartet.

Sehr freundlicher Service, leckeres Nan zum Hauptgericht. Das Essen hat Super geschmeckt und die Getränkeauswahl war voll OK. Eine Einrichtung/Ausstattung im ansprechenden afghanischen Stil. Das Essen war sein Geld wert. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen - nur zu empfehlen.

Went there for the 1st time today (first time I have ever had Afghani food too) . Had a wonderful meal for a reasonable price. Try the Orange Rice and the Aubergine Curry... Both excellent. We ordered the Set Menu and were not disappointed.

Some years ago we enjoyed a dinner at Tchopan with its great food and silkroad-style ambiance. So much so, that when it came to selecting a dining venue for our small wedding, we contacted them. We were pleasantly surprised that they had renovated it the interior to make it even nicer. The staff at the owner-managed restaurant were very accommodating, taking our wishes and adding their own suggestions (e.g. excellent choice of wines) for an unforgettable dining experience that included champagne, dessert, and of course their very tasty entrees for us as vegetarians as well as for those of our guests that savored meat-based entrees. Even better than we thought, the staff offered really great service. The dishes seemed to magically appear, as the staff were quickly in and out. And the wine was replenished regularly. Tchopan made our wedding event last month (Nov. 2017) truly memorable. All our guests enjoyed dining there very much; a few of them having already visited Tchopan again. Highly recommended.

What a fantastic choice for my birthday get-together! It was our first time there and all of us raved about the food. We ordered the sampler menu so we could try everything (per the waitress' suggestion), and nothing disappointed. It's good for vegetarians. One of my friends has a nut allergy and the chefs made a special rice for her. We will definitely return again--and soon! I dream of their spicy yogurt sauce...!

We came along as a large group and were lucky enough to be given the soft seating area table, really comfortable and relaxing, definitely worth asking for. There's not much choice on the menu but everything we ordered was really good, a real nice mix of spices, we all left very much happy with what we got. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating, service was quick and we weren't waiting long at all for the food to come out.

Nice and small restaurant. The service is good and always attentive. The menu card is not too big but offers enough variations. The food is excellent and also not too spicy. The prices are moderate. I'm sure i wasn't there for the last time.

This was such a refreshing meal after eating central European food for months. The flavors and fragrances of Afghan food are very subtle and delicate, and the combinations are always stunning. This meal was no exception. We started with some steamed dumplings - Ashak (with leeks) and Mantu (filled with meat), both are served with a lovely tomato based sauce. We then got the Narengepalau - seasoned rice with aubergine cooked in a tomato sauce, and a dish with grilled chicken marinaded in a curry sauce and a different kind of seasoned rice. Everything was delicious, full of subtle flavors that weave together in beautiful ways. We also loved their garden, which has a huge tree in the center and small lanterns hanging all around - you really do feel transported to a different part of the world. Even though this is a bit far from where we live it was absolutely worth the travel, and we plan to go back soon.

We visited it on a Sunday and had the surprise menu for two. Very good food: a soup as starter, several main courses and a desert. All for a fair price. The service is friendly and very fast.

The service was excellent...and the food even more so. My wife and kids loved it....menu was just right and the place was pretty cosy....absolutely recommend it!!

We wanted to try something different and we went there. It has a comfortable terrace, so if you want to eat there, please book in advance. The inside I cannot judge because I was not there. The food is very good and tasty, and the service is very kind. Will certainly come back

A friend had told me about Tchopan over a year ago and I finally went this week and I am so glad I did! I absolutely loved this restaurant, my meal was excellent! The calm and tasteful decor of the very clean restaurant, combined with their warm and friendly staff made our delicious food so much more pleasant. Really enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back!
